The LV Guide by The Lv Guide - 7M ago

Dear faithful LV Guide readers,

For the last six months I have been hard at work on a new project. It’s something that I’ve always dreamed of doing, but was too scared to go after…until recently.

Many of you that follow me on social media know that this past summer I opened a pop-up called TESORO Collective in Montauk. It was the perfect size, location and something felt so right about opening my first store literally down the street from our beach house! After an incredibly successful summer I took a much needed break to think about next steps for the shop. Would I bring it back next summer? Could I open another location? Or could I even recreate the magic of this pop-up online, for everyone to enjoy?!

Whenever you embark on a new adventure there are a million reasons to say no, it’s easier to have doubts than to have confidence, but for this particular project, I am certain that my entire career in fashion has led me to this very moment of saying YES!

As a stylist I spend hundreds of hours shopping looks each season. It’s time consuming and at times frustrating, the opposite of what shopping should be, and that disconnect was the inspiration for TESOROCollective.com.The site will feature edited collections that are accessible to every budget, easy to shop and infused with the most wanted looks of the moment … and I promise you a shopping experience you’ll want to come back to over and over again.

As I race full speed ahead on this new journey, I hope that you’ll come along for the ride. In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more details and exclusive discounts for my ride-or-die LV Guide readers – you can keep tabs on all of that on our Instagram (@tesorocollective) and of course at TESOSOCollective.com where you can sign up to be the first to know about the launch in November!

For now, this blog will have to take a small pause so I can focus my team and my efforts on this new collection. So while we aren’t going anywhere, we are on a little hiatus!

Thank you for always being so supportive of me and for inspiring me to continue to grow this brand and my passion. I can’t wait to start this new chapter with you!

xx, Lilliana

Thrift shopping, did Macklemore really make it popular? While “I’m gonna pop some tags” is catchy and irresistible to say, we’ve noticed that not just pop songs but the fashion world is embracing a thrifted look as well. Now it seems like all the cool fashion moguls are sporting second-hand pieces, and within the last few years more and more companies are acknowledging and even selling pre-loved garments. Places like Buffalo Exchange, Raggedy Threads, and Thread Up are encouraging consumers to buy used rather than new.

Thrift shopping is perfect for those who embrace its veil of mystery, but who are also looking for sustainable ways to purchase clothing, accessories, and home goods. Initially, the task of thrifting may seem daunting but don’t worry! We came up with a short guide to help you thrift shop like a pro.

Be Patient
Whether you are looking for a vintage Chanel jacket or a t-shirt that speaks to you, thrift shopping requires a bit of patience. Never judge a book by its cover. More often than not you will find the hidden gems at the bottom of a cardboard box or sandwiched in an overstuffed rack. Thrift shopping is like an art, it takes time to get the perfect final product.

Go Downtown
It doesn’t matter what city you reside in because your Downtown is sure to be a cultural hub full of vintage shops and cool instagramable mural walls. Check out the antique stores to find the perfect tea set or look for vintage threads, then meet up for happy hour with your galpals.

Local Listings
Check local newspapers and magazines for local events and vintage markets. You never know what may be happening in your neighborhood. Some of the best thrifting finds are with small local vendors who upcycle for a living, go to weekend markets and chat with them. They may even help you find a rare piece!

Let’s get it poppin’.  For once, we’re not talking about champagne when saying, “Have a bit of bubbly.”  Our latest love affair with dearly beloved GLAMGLOW comes in the form of the most fun sheet mask you’ll ever get your manicured hands on: the BUBBLESHEET. Meet BUBBLESHEET.

GLAMGLOW’s new BUBBLESHEET Oxygenating Deep Cleanse mask covers your face in just that- bubbles. The sheet itself is made of black bamboo charcoal cloth, feeling thicker and more luxurious than other sheet masks. The cleanser in the mask oxygenates in order to bubble into a foam- like a bubble bath, for your face. The mask has the distinct, sweet GLAMGLOW scent that fans know and love. When applying, leave the mask on for about three minutes, then remove the charcoal cloth. Be sure to work the foam around in circles to deepen the cleanse before rinsing.

Major, major points go to BUBBLESHEET for feeling refreshing and non-irritating on even my own sensitive skin. The combination of ingredients bring a clean that feels deeper than the surface, but the mask does not have the harshness or burn that deep cleaning treatments with higher acid concentration bring.

This is the perfect treat for a night in. Go ahead and light a candle- my current obsession is getting a cozy cabin smell by mixing Apotheke’s Binchotan Charcoal Scented Candle amid my hordes of vanillas. Pop on BUBBLESHEET for a few minutes and have a blast playing with the foam. Then, last but not least, slip on your coziest robe and lay down to marathon the latest on Netflix. You’ve earned it.
