Holla from Lisbon my loves! Hope you are all just being fabulous.

This year has been my year for sure… I can only say it’s only going to get better and I can only be grateful for what has happened and everything that will be coming in the near future.

I have worked so hard for everything that I own and everything that I have been able to provide for myself and one of the things I treasure the most isn’t materialistic but more of an experience and that is to travel to anywhere I put my mind to.

So far I have been ticking places off my bucket list, starting with Australia and wow was that the trip of a lifetime, then it was Tokyo, Japan, Lisbon , Portugal and South Africa (which I am dying to go back to). Plus so much more that’s on my list that is materialistic and if you follow me on Instagram you would know that I have achieved something I am absolutely proud of which is my beautiful new home! Ahhhhh it’s still surreal knowing that I own a home now at the age of 29! YAY anyway more about that later.

So Lisbon is a dream, I’ve been dreaming of visiting the city for the longest time and have been seeing soo many stunning photos from the city through other travel bloggers and it’s breathtaking. I have to admit walking up and down hose hills wasn’t easy. But the scenery and seeing all the gorgeous tiles on the buildings was worth it.

I wore this dress to one of the most iconic places in Lisbon ,Palacio dos Marqueses de Fornteira , which the owners live in it still, the garden is open all day and you can just visit when you want to without a guide, but if you do want to see the inside of the Palacio dos Marqueses de Fornteira you will need a tour guide and they do close by 2 pm.

I wore this dress that I got from Likely and so many of you kept asking me on where to get it. Likely is one of the many brands that I love to shop from Shopbop. Other similar brands would be OPTKeepsake, Free People and Rahi.

So I finally got to visit Tokyo. Japan has always been at the top of my list and I honestly can’t wait to visit again soon Kyoto and Osaka are two cities I’m excited to explore. So I was in Tokyo for 5 nights and I honesty can say that it’s definitely not enough to properly explore. There is just so much to do and see and oh just one little me.

I always hear people say that Tokyo is expensive and what not but I honestly didn’t think it was really, the only thing I splurged a lot of money on was taxis (I should have used the metro) and the hotel but that’s only because it was Sakura season so it’s both expensive and busy.

So Sakura season happens once a year towards the end of March and 1st week of April. Before flying out I was a little nervous thinking I might miss it as I had landed on the 1st of April and it’s never really guaranteed that you might catch it then or miss or it’s not at bloom yet. I mean it’s mother nature and that very unpredictable. Also, pack warm as it was freezing there and I wasn’t really expecting it.

I took us around 15 hours to get there as we didn’t fly direct but flew in style, which I will get into in a little bit with a whole breakdown on what to do and where to go in Tokyo, I hope you enjoy this post and visit Tokyo soon!

Cathay Pacific

We flew Cathay Pacific leaving from Dubai at around 5pm local time. We stayed at the lounge before departure which was great. The flight was absolutely great and the crew were so sweet and kind they always had a smile on their faces and were so helpful. We flew on business class and it was the smoothest 10 hours ever, I slept for most of it comfortably.

The in-flight entertainment was so good and it was an endless selection of movies and series. I stayed up for dinner which was delicious, the cabin crew passed by the cabin with a trolley that showcases the meals. Most wouldn’t like that but I thought “yay I can actually see what I’m getting” so that was a plus from me and I loved the garlic bread on board!

We connected our flight in Hong Kong (another city I can’t wait to visit) and you know what they say Hong Kong is the gateway to Asia, they fly to almost every major city in Asia and it’s just easy to get around from there. We got to enjoy the Cathay Pacific lounge that had an amazing selection of food, very spacious with its own quiet zone for those who need some time out after a long or connecting flight.

Mandarin Oriental

Now I don’t need to tell you guys how beautiful the Mandarin Oriental really is. Some of my best memories are at one of their hotels. Let’s start with their customer service which is top notch, many can’t compare to their service and their attention to details and how they truly customize each guests experience, from being greeted at the door to the room tour and up to the moment you check out and I would like to thank each and every one of their staff members for an incredible experience.

We stayed at one of their suits that was on the 32 floor, if you had gone through my snaps you could see how high we were and with a stunning view of most of Tokyo! The suite had a living space which you could technically throw a mini party in, a room that was just calming and the bed … well, let’s just say I had one of the best sleep in forever!!

All the amenity in the bathroom..

When I was packing for Tokyo all I could think about packing were statement pieces. I must have spent hours on shopbop just searching for striking statement pieces and I think I hit the jackpot when I found this pair of red leather snake print pants by Ronny Kobo from shopbop.

Before I bought these pants I asked my sister cousins and my friends on their thoughts on it and the first thing they all said was “that’s hard to pull off” but I think pairing them with a simple black top does the trick. I really think nothing else in your outfit should stand out apart from the pants. I also recently started having a love affair with printed pants and specially animal print, not sure why but I think it can be timeless if it was worn the right way. Don’t you think?

Well, here are some other brand that carry similar style pants and some are even more simpler than this one just in case you don’t think its for you but kind of want to rock a similar look. I.Am.Gia, Nicholas, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Tibi.

This Ramadan I decided to create a collage of some of my top picks of modest dressing for the season with Selfridges and it’s the perfect time for you and myself to shop from one of my favorite department stores in the world. I have picked out a few items from Etro, Me and Em, All Saints and Agolde.

Ramadan is a very special time to me and to many other Muslims, it’s a time where we get to spend time with family and friends and not to mention the endless gatherings that end up being a complete fashion focused event.

Many people think that during Ramadan all the women need to be fully covered and that is considered to be modest dressing, but they’re wrong. Modest dressing doesn’t mean you need to wear a vail and an abaya to be considered modest. I know a lot of women in the industry who aren’t religious or Muslim but love to dress modestly.

Modest fashion is a trend that is taking over the fashion industry. Whether your modest attire is for religious reasons or personal preference, you can transform your style by choosing modest dresses that are full length, jeans with a long top or jacket over it and less revealing outfits.

So the first week of Ramadan has come and gone and it really feels good to be here for yet another moth of worship and just taking some time off to spend it with family and friends. It’s such an amazing time to just disconnect and connect with your family and mostly yourself.

This month I’m going to be sharing some of my fave Ramadan looks that I’m sure you’re going to love, it’s mostly modest clothing hopefully with a little flare.

Here is one of my first looks for Ramadan which is a dress by Zimmermann from Shopbop. Now Shopbop always has a great selection of modest outfits that’s prefect for Ramadan, I’m not the biggest fan of endless Kaftans but more of that fashion forward looks.

Some other looks I’m loving that’s perfect for the month is Sandra Mansour, Self Portrait, Galvan London and Leur Logette.

TOKYO I’m in love with you… I don’t think I have ever been anywhere that was as exciting and mind blowing as Tokyo. It does have a charm of its own, and for me to celebrate my birthday there was a dream come true. The fact that it was also Sakura season which is magical.

I remember planning a trip like this for years but something would always come up, either another trip in the Caribbean or Seychelles because I had to attend a wedding somewhere close by.

Trust me, I’m not complaining about my choice of birthday destinations but Tokyo was always on the top of my list and thankfully I got to spend it with my most favorite person on earth!

Well while I know most of you are waiting to know where to go and what to do in Tokyo, I’ll save that for another post where I’ll share my exact experience with you all and I’m sure you’ll love the photo diary too.

Anyway here is one of the Temples I visited and I wanted to wear something that kind of has a contrast but still very Asian, so I opted for this outfit from Shopbop by Rahi which by now I think most of you know it’s one of my fave brands. Another outfits I packed along with me were from Re:named, C/meo Collective, Free People and AG.

The Maldives and  the Conrad Rengali Island is probably one of my favorite places on earth. It’s the closest thing in my opinion of paradise and I don’t think anything else can compare to its beauty and serenity!

Just imagine being in a place that’s quiet and just a beautiful endless view of the ocean. Its definitely a place I keep going back to just relax and unwind for a few days and just being away from all the noise and social media (apart from when I’m posting about it on my stories)

This isn’t my first time at the Conrad Rengali Island in the Maldives and it certainly won’t be my last. I spent for night at the beautiful island and I just came with one pair of shoes that I flew in with and walked barefoot the whole time I was there.

One of the reasons I went back there was because of the amazing staff that I absolutely adore and the delicious food that they keep serving us.

I spent 2 nights at the newly renovated beach villas and 2 nights at their water villas, early mornings to catch the sunrise and early nights in for a good nights’ sleep!

THE BEACH VILLA

The beach villa was recently renovated and it’s very different from the last time I had checked in to the  Conrad Rengali Island.
It had an indoor and outdoor shower, a newly renovated pool with beautiful tile finishing, a really spacious bedroom with a seating are and the best part was the little vanity room just by the entrance so us women can get ready in peace and with good lighting.

The bed itself was extremely comfortable it was like sleeping in the clouds. If you were a beach person and just want to walk out from your villa and straight into the beautiful sands and ocean, I would highly recommend this for you.

THE WATER VILLA

Now this water villa is different from the one I spent my time in last. This was more secluded and far from the main island, it took us a while to go back and forth. But seeing that you are in an island there were 3 ways of transportation. 1st is by walking, so much more romantic, 2nd was by the buggy and that’s if you’re late to your next appointment or just too lazy to walk and the 3rd is my fave you can take a water taxi from one island to the other!

Now the water villa is located as you might now by now, above the water. You have an endless view of the ocean and can dive in the deep right away.

It’s also located next to the couples spa and early morning yoga sessions. It also near by the adult pool (which is the best part).

THE FOOD

So one thing the  Conrad Rengali Island definitely doesn’t lack is the option and selection of restaurants. You can eat at a different restaurant every night for 12 nights and it’s just all amazing.

Here are some of my faves:

Sunset Grill, has some of the best seafood and meat. It’s just above the reef and you can enjoy the most stunning view of the sea life right beside you.

Mandhoo Spa Restaurant is one for my healthy eaters and vegans out there. Everything they serve has a purpose to rejuvenate and energize you for the day to come. Also they do feed the shark there so that’s a plus for me.

Koko Grill is one for the young or old couple. It’s a ten course Japanese dining which is very intimate that the chef serves the food right in front of you and talks to you more about the dishes he is about to serve.

Ithaa is another one that can’t be missed and it’s probably the most famous restaurant of all which is the underwater restaurant. Warning you might need to book this way in advance as they always seem to be fully book.

My final favorite would have to be Atoll Market, if I’m not ordering room service, which I seem to always do because of the stunning backdrop, I will be indulging in the eight buffet kitchen. Oh but it’s not just for breakfast, you can also enjoy dinners there with family.

Here is a bonus for you, the beach dining is a really great experience especially if its during lobster bbq night. Honestly the vibe and food is phenomenal and don’t get me started with the atmosphere and stars for days!

THE MURAKA

Now this is something absolutely new to me, when I arrived at the  Conrad Rengali Island they had just launched and were expecting their first guests the very next day to stay at the prestigious MURAKA. I had never seen anything like this place and honestly it’s somewhere I would definitely love to stay one day.

The Muraka is a 2 level, 3 bedroom residence that is incomparable. It has its own entrance and seaplane landing dock, so you don’t need to mingle with the rest of the guests in the main island, it’s perfect for celebrities and well the rich and famous who don’t want to be seen.

It is truly the first of its kind and it just might as well be named a pent house on water and underwater as one of the suits is located underwater and it’s something else.

The Muraka has its own team of staff to cater to your every need and butlers who will be at your side at any time of the day and will make sure to make your stay feel special and well customized for you and your guests.

The  Conrad Rengali Island is a resort I continuously recommend and look forward to visiting it again!

Oh my!!! Counting down the days to my birthday right now and woah I cannot wait … can you imagine.. me? Turning 29? It’s a little unbelievable and couldn’t have imagined this in a million years.. well maybe 29 year! I feel like I need to celebrate every moment this year just because well you… next up is 30 eek!!

Well, this birthday I had planned a trip that I planned when I turned 25 in Malaysia many years ago with my good friend Reem Kanj. I remember us having a girls night in gossiping and talking about how we should plan a trip to Japan soon to see the picturesque Cherry Blossom season. I also remember one of my favorite bloggers Nicole Warne was there during the time and her then boyfriend popped the question in one of their boat rides under the beautiful cherry blossoms … isn’t that just dreamy?

Anyway, enough about the future and lets focus on this outfit I just posted, I used hate wearing denims and white shirt when I;m trying to make a statement. But with the years that passed I realized how much of a statement you can make with a simple outfit like this one.

I got this statement top from Ganni over at Shopbop and Alexandre Wang jeans also from the website. There are so many brands that also show a very similar style or more of a statement top such as See by Chloe and Toga Pulla.

Hello beautiful people, starting off the week with a bit of self-realization, I need to stand up for myself a little more because I guess everyone is out there for their own good and really don’t care who they steal the shine from as long as they actually do it to further themselves. I say this because I had been working on something  for months and someone just swooped in at the last minute and just took all credit for it, honestly it really pisses me off and I did confront them, but it’s just a little too late for recognition now.

Anyway, more onto a happier note I shot this look in the Valley area where I spent a couple of nights in a cozy cabin on a golf course next to the forest where hundreds of wild kangaroos lived and came out to play around sunset and sunrise. It was one of the most magical experiences I could have ever imagined being in and I loved every moment of it. Thank you for the memories.

Here I am wearing this gorgeous dress that as always finding  the most perfect outfits on Shopbop and this one is by Edit and it’s such a statement dress that I absolutely adore. Some other brands that have gorgeous statement dresses would be Silvia Tcherassi, C/Meo Collective, Acler my personal fave and Magda Butrym.

I

February came and is about to leave! I can’t believe how quick time flies but this time I don’t mind it and I can’t wait for what’s to come in the not so far future.

Anyway, so I shot this look at Yara Valley in Melbourne while I was staying at the Yering Georg Cottages, it was truly a magical place and just so beautiful. Waking up every morning seeing a 100 kangaroos just at sunrise and a lot more during sunset, can you just picture that? I never really thought I would be able to experience something like that and I am so glad that I did. It’s definitely a place worth visiting no doubt about that.

To me this place has so much more meaning that you could ever imagine and I really can’t wait to share it with you guys, but only when the time is right!

I also wanted to share my look with you guys from obviously ShopBop by Rahi and I have worn a similar one in Morocco not long ago check it out here. Also sharing some other brand I’m loving at the moment, Rixo, Glamorous, Re:Named and Maison Talulah.
