American Eagle is having a surprise 20% off sale right now and I am here for it! I am loving American Eagle for their lounge and swim this summer so I wanted to share some of the items I am buying. Hurry though as a lot of sizes are going quick! Also side note: I usually get a small or medium in most items here!
Thanks so much to L’Occitane for sponsoring this post – all opinions are my own!
The countdown to the end of the school year is on and that means summer is officially here. I know I am looking forward to a lot of beach time this summer and can’t wait for all that sunshine. I also can’t wait for more girl trips filled with brunches, shopping trips, and lazy nights pampering ourselves. Of course, we all know that means there needs to be face masks with all that girl talk so I’m pretty excited to have found a new one that I love!
L’Occitane has recently launched a new line of face masks and scrubs, inspired by mineral-rich fruits and herbs from the heart of the Mediterranean Basin, which are amazing. Since my skin is very sensitive to the sun and my freckles come out as temperatures rise, I am always looking for a calming mask at the end of the day. Therefore, when I tried the Soothing Mask I was hooked. First, it smells so yummy thanks to the freshly picked blackcurrant enriched within the product. I don’t think there is a better word to describe it. Also, this mask’s yogurt-like texture is so refreshing and calming. I currently use it twice a week after being in the sun because it does such a great job soothing my skin. I actually apply a thick layer to my clean, dry skin and leave it on for 5 minutes to sooth the skin and help it feel super soft. Also, insider tip is to be sure to place the mask in the fridge 10 minutes before using..trust me you will want to mask daily. Do you have any fun or unique tips when you’re working on your self-care glow? Let me know in the comments below!
I will link all my favorite masks below so you can easily shop! I have also added to my instagram stories some video on how it works and what the consistency is like!
Happy Masking with your girlfriends!
Thinking about a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona but need a travel guide? YES, GO VISIT! I GOT YOU! I recently had spring break and planned a trip with my friend Angelle, @dashingdarlin and photographer Jenm @jenmenardphoto. We could not get over from the minute we arrived the gorgeous weather, the adorable neighborhoods, and last but not least the amazing cactus all around us. It was truly sunny everyday and everyone could not have been nicer. We had a lot of recommendations before our trip and ventured to a lot of locations so I wanted to recap everything we did for you! I really can’t wait to go back and visit Arizona. You will LOVE it.
Places to Stay:
Airstream: We found the cutest airstream on airbnb that was perfect for our boho souls. Would highly recommend for 2 people at the most as there is only one bed and the couch is not really easily a bed. The way they remodeled this is insane and it has the cutest backyard surrounding it. Loved the street and neighborhood as well. Would definitely stay again!
House Rental: I also loved this home nearby if you prefer more of a home feel. I am obsessed with how they decorated it as well and it’s right next to the airstream.
Hotel: We ended our stay with the hotel Moxy at Tempe. If you want to be in the ASU area this is a great hotel and they could not have been more accomodating! The Moxy is also the boutique hotel of the Marriott in case you have points with them!
Other hotels that I would look into because they are gorgeous:
The Scott Resort- We had lunch, did some shooting here, and laid around the pool. Could not get over the decor and in fact plan to make my new home look like this.
Are you looking for a cute place that gives you an apartment like feel in the heart of any city you visit? It’s exactly what I look for and it’s why I am so glad I found Stay Alfred. John and I recently were able to stay with them in Philadelphia and Nashville in which we pretty much decided at that moment we could live in two cities, why settle with one?
When we did our staycation in Philadelphia, we stayed at Stay Alfred at the Granary. It was the perfect apartment in the Fairmount neighborhood. If this doesn’t ring a bell, its known for being the area where the art museum is and the famous Rocky steps. There was such easy parking across the street and the Stay Alfred at Granary welcomed us with so many coffee and shops below us! Our favorites when staying there:
When we did our staycation in Nashville, we stayed at Stay Alfred at the James. It is in the Gulch which is a great spot right outside of downtown and Broadway. You are in walking distance to some favorite restaurants and shops including:
Do you have certain products that you just go through bottles of because you can’t get enough? My makeup routine has been pretty consistent since I have found some favorite products that help me get that bronzed natural glow I’m always striving for. Some of them are a little more than others but everyone is something I have bought more than once. I wanted to make a quick reference to all of them so you could come back here if you were wondering what products I use daily! Here goes:
10. Laura Geller Baked Body Frosting– Can not live without this. It is amazing all year round to have a bronze glow. You can wear it all over but I love to dust it on my face when I am all done. I use the color Hawaiian Glow.
12. Ardell Faux Minx Wispies- Wear these daily. I have gotten so used to wearing them I do not even notice them. It is a much cheaper way to get the lashes look without doing extensions and they look so natural. I also love the Demi’s!
Let me know if you try any of these! I will keep you updated on the new products I try and if any earn a spot into my daily makeup routine!
Anyone else feel like they are going back in time with their fashion? I remember growing up with barrettes and now I can’t get enough of them. They are my favorite accessories and perfect for those days you just do not feel like doing your hair. There are so many affordable styles out there and I wanted to do a round up of some of my favorites:
Teeth Whitening? Have you tried it yet? Does it hurt? Can I drink coffee and wine again?
Recently I went to Rittenhouse Dentists on the Main Line in Bryn Mawr to get a whitening treatment and all my questions got answered. It has been something I have wanted to do for the longest time but did not know exactly who to go to! Truthfully ever since I started blogging, I have noticed that my teeth have not been as white as I would like them to be when I smile. So when the opportunity came up to work with Dr. Abdulla and Rittenhouse Dentists I jumped at the chance.
When I arrived, the office was so welcoming and adorably decorated. Why have my dentists never felt like this before?! They immediately took me back to one of the rooms and walked through the treatment with me. Dr. Abdulla took x-rays of my teeth and explained how they would be doing the Zoom Whitening Treatment. If you have never heard of that ( which I had not either) it is pretty much a treatment where a machine emits a blue light over your teeth to lift the stains off. A whitening agent is put on your teeth and left to sit to lift the stains under the blue light in 15 minute intervals. Most people need about 3 to 4 rounds of the 15 minute whitening sessions (I needed 4).
So the best part…before we began, unlike any dentist I have ever went to before, I was given a paraffin wax treatment. Total heaven on my hands and to make it even better she asked what show I would like to watch. They actually have goggles you wear so you can watch any Netflix show as the treatments take place. Naturally I watched the office and just tried not to laugh at Dwight as my teeth were whitening.
Some things I learned:
-Tooth Sensitivity is real and different for everyone. Dr. Abdulla kept asking me about the sensitivity of my teeth throughout the appointment and let me know that I could experience slight “zingers” from the treatment. These zingers are just short periods of sensitivity which were not even noticeable until a little later that night. Sensodyne was my best friend that day since Dr. Abdulla said it really helps with any tooth sensitivity and she said I could even put it on my gums. I also took a few Advil just in case but by the next day there was absolutely no sensitivity.
-When you need anything done with your teeth, go to someone you trust. I felt like I was in the best hands with Dr. Abdulla and her team. Every step of the process I was informed about and told what to expect. I barely had any tooth sensitivity and was relaxed the entire time. Rittenhouse Dentist’s office truly felt like home and I was the most comfortable I have ever been at a dentist.
-Cost- The typical cost of the Zoom Whitening Treatment is $499 and they run promotions at different times during the year. If it is something you are remotely interested I would definitely call and discuss your options! The staff there is extremely friendly and I am now ready to discuss with them my next option of doing Invisalign. Totally taking these teeth to the next step in 2019.
-Locations and website: Rittenhouse Dentists have a couple locations in the Philadelphia area so you can find the best one for you! They are:
One of my favorite spots to shop during the holidays is Glen Eagle Square in Chaddsford, PA. It is an outdoor shopping area with some of my favorite places to shop and eat while finishing up Christmas shopping. The Saturday we were there was especially fun because every store celebrated Men’s Shopping Day!
When we arrived we decided to eat first since it’s never a good idea to shop while you are hungry. We went to Avenue Kitchen which specializes in American classics and gourmet dishes. We got the southern fried chicken and cornbread along with the baked goat cheese appetizer. I will definitely be going back for this! Then we sampled their steak frites and braised short rib before taking the rest home. So so good.
After eating, we started our shopping at Scout & Molly’s which features some of my favorite brands such as BB Dakota, 1.State, and Daydreamer. I loved all of their winter hats and graphic tees which would be perfect to layer with. We then headed to a new home store, Kurtz Collection which showcases its own custom designed rugs made in Nepal and the cutest home gifts. I wanted to bring home so many items including this one rug and the cutest glasses. Finally we stopped by Co Chic Boutique which had the perfect Christmas pajamas from PJ Salvage. The owners dog was also there that day and any store you can pet puppies and shop is a new favorite in my book. We then looked at the schedule at Cycology202 in case in between all the Christmas cookies and snacking this month we wanted to get a work out in. Cycology 202 opened in August and is a 45 minute cardio cycling class timed to the beat of the club-style music in a dark, candle-lit room. I’ve heard amazing things about their combo cycle/TRX classes, or cycle/Pilates classes too which I can’t wait to try!
Thank you Glen Eagle Square for having us this weekend! We are so glad we were able to finish our Christmas shopping and enjoy the last weekend of July enjoying the festive atmospshere!
