Few weeks ago, it was reported that the next Assassin’s Creed would be set in the Viking Era, known by the working title “Kingdom”. Today, new reports from ResetEra and 4Chan claim that the next Assassin’s Creed will indeed focus on the Vikings and will be titled “Ragnarok”, set for release in 2020 as a cross-gen title. Here’s a summary of all the reported information about the game:

  1. The game will bring back RPG elements and naval mechanics.
  2. Ship-related content won’t be as extensive, since the focus will instead shift to exploration.
  3. Co-op features will be implemented into the game which will appear in both side quests and exploration of the open-world.
  4. The unnamed protagonist is closely allied with the famed Ragnar Lothbrok., and also assists in establishing the Great Heathen Army, a league of Norse warriors who were instrumental in the invasion of English kingdoms in 865 AD.
  5. The protagonist will venture into kingdoms set in the regions of Denmark, Finland, Great Britain, Norway, and Sweden.
  6. First Civilization reportedly not receiving as much attention, compared to the lore featured in Odyssey.
  7. Thor’s Hammer, Mjolnir will appear as an artifact to discover.
  8. The various kingdoms will be split into settlements, each of which comes with its own ecosystems and customization options.
  9. The hidden blade returns as does the order of Assassins as we know it.
  10. Ubisoft Montreal is leading development on Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok. Ashraf Ismail, Creative Director and Game Director on Black Flag and Origins, respectively, serves as Ragnarok’s Creative Director.
  11. DLC plans are already underway, as a setting in Iceland has reportedly been selected for post-launch content.
  12. Ragnarok will feature multiple realms, and it’s unclear if this is part of the game or the DLC.
  13. Traversal between realms will be made possible by Yggdrasil, the mythical Tree of Life that is featured in the likes of God of War and other similar focused mediums.

None of the information above was officially confirmed by Ubisoft, so this remains an unconfirmed rumor. Stay tuned for more info!

A poster hanging in one of the locations of The Division 2 shows a portrait of a man carrying a staff or a trident and an orb that strongly resembles an Apple of Eden, along with the title “Valhalla” written on top of the poster, which led many to believe that this is an Easter egg pointing towards the setting of the next Assassin’s Creed.

Later, an article by Kotaku reportedly confirms that the next setting is indeed a Viking setting and the project is currently titled “Kingdom” and being developed by Ubisoft Montreal and set for release in 2020, according to their own sources. However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation by Ubisoft regarding any future Assassin’s Creed projects.

Last year, it was officially announced that there will not be an Assassin’s Creed main title in 2019. Today, a user on 4Chan reports that the next Assassin’s Creed is reportedly called “Legion”, set in Italy in the era of Marcus Aurelius, during the struggles of his son Commodus and the year of five emperors.

According to the rumor, the game is set to feature two protagonists; Cassius or Lucia, who are descendants of the protagonists of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and it’s unclear if the canon is going to work like Syndicate or Odyssey, but it’s meant to feature heavy RPG elements and a story for both characters.

The game is being created by Ubisoft Sofia, and is the conclusion to the “Ancient Trilogy” and is coming in 2020 on next generation systems. It’s also the most First Civilization-focused game to date.

The main story is more involved in assassins and politics with first civilization and flashbacks to other points in Rome history being secondary.

According to the rumor, Ubisoft wants to make it feel more like assassins creed while feeling like Odyssey to make old and new fans happy. The game map is mainland Italy as well as a small part of Gaul and Germania like Libya in Origins and is set to feature a revised mercenary and cultist system. Big cultists and main story assassinations have those memory things.

Of course, none of the information above is backed by any official source, therefore it remains an unconfirmed rumor. For the original article, click here. Stay tuned for more updates!

Shadow Heritage, the second episode of the Legacy of the First Blade story arc for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey arrives tomorrow on all platforms and it is set tp reunite players with Darius, the mysterious first wielder of a Hidden Blade. Set amid the shipyards of Achaia, the seaside region just southeast of Kephallonia, it’s a chance to uncover a new conspiracy by the Order of the Ancients, and to add a devastating new weapon to the Adrestia.

Shadow Heritage unlocks once players completed Legacy of the First Blade’s first episode, Hunted. Intended for players level 28 and above, it sets you on a quest to free Achaia from the grip of a terrifying warlord who calls herself The Tempest. And where Hunted put a focus on stealth, much of Shadow Heritage’s action unfolds on and around the Aegean Sea, as you pit the Adrestia against The Tempest’s powerful fleet.

The balance of power at sea hinges on the Chimera’s Breath, a powerful superweapon under development by The Tempest. She plans to use it to terrorize the waters around Achaia, but you can turn it against her by stealing the plans for yourself, and then going on a treasure hunt to find the documents to decode them. The Chimera’s Breath turns out to be a pair of prow-mounted flamethrowers that can rapidly overwhelm and temporarily paralyze enemy ships at close range. Not only does this make them easy prey for your archers, but it adds fiery new oomph to ramming enemy vessels.

Probably not, because Legacy of the First Blade will conclude in March with the third episode, Bloodline, and there’s a lot more on the horizon for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. More Lost Tales of Greece are coming for free to all players, and the second post-launch story arc, The Fate of Atlantis, is coming soon to Season Pass holders, who’ll also get Assassin’s Creed III Remastered and Assassin’s Creed Liberation Remastered this March.
