Recently I went to get my hair done at Artistry Hair Professional (previously known as Headlines By Artistry)! I got my hair trimmed, dyed and also did their Mucota Scena 3 step treatment. I really love how my new hair looks like now! (They also have the signature Mucota Argan Oil Treatment!)

The picture below shows how my hair looks like now after 1 day + washing my hair. Unlike many other salons I’ve been to, the effects are still there and it’s not like after you wash your hair at home, the effects of the treatment will be gone.

Didn't even have to blow dry my hair here!
The Before

I was really unsatisfied my hair before I went to Artistry Hair Professional. I’ve pulled out a few photos of my hair so you could have a look at how bad my hair was.
These pictures were taken only one week after I did some Argan Oil Treatment at Salon X. The effects were not too good as you can see that my hair still curls at the end even though my natural hair is straight. Also, the stylist at Salon X had cut my hair in a very weird way! You can see that my layers are super uneven and some lengths of hair are so short compared to the others. My hair was also left looking very flat at the top. I feel bad quoting names here, so if you would like to find out, please send me a message privately.

Super flat hair here!

What I did at Artistry Hair Professional

I really love the service at Artistry Hair Professional. The stylists were all so friendly. You can choose from the different drinks they have there like milo or green tea. I decided on green tea.

I told my stylist Chris to cut my hair shorter so that I could get rid of my layers. Chris hair cutting skills are really superb! If you’re looking to cut your hair, you can definitely look for him. It’s probably one of my best haircuts I had!

This is how my hair looks after cutting my hair. It’s still rather frizzy but I’m glad the ugly layers are gone! This costs about $50-$90 (depending on the stylist you get) for a hair cut for my long hair.

I then decided to dye my hair since the last time I dyed my hair was probably 2 years ago? Chris was very patient when listening to what hair colour I was looking for. I told him I didn’t want anything too drastic, something work appropriate and something with no red undertones.

Chris brought out this colour chart and recommended the colours I should take based on my skin tone.

You can’t really see the colours here because of the lighting, but I finally settled for level 7, Jade.

This costs about $140-$160 for my hair length.

Lastly, I decided to try out their 3 step Mucota Scena hair treatment which was recommended by Chris. I saw many other blog reviews on it saying it was the best treatment that they had so I had rather high hopes for it.

3 Step Mucota Scena Hair Treatment

I have to say that this treatment is one of the best treatments I ever had and it met all my expectations. Other treatments usually only have 1 step but this has 3! The effects are almost like rebonding, especially for people with naturally straight hair like me. My hair really feels so soft now. According to Chris, the effects of this treatment can last up to 6 weeks! There is no ironing of hair involved, just steaming. I will update this post with some picture of my hair after 1 day and after 1 week so that you can have a good idea of the effects of this treatment.

Here are the products that was used for the Mucota Scena treatment. The team was kind enough to let me take a photo of the products. I have labelled the products A, B and C.

For Step 1, the stylist applied cream A for me and then steamed my hair. After that, he rinsed my hair off with cold water. This cream is to soften my hair and help my hair better absorb the other products.

For Step 2, the stylist sprayed product B all over my hair.

For Step 3, the stylist applied cream C all over my hair and steamed my hair. After that, my hair was rinsed off with cold water.

You can click on the pictures below and zoom in to read more about the products. Note that only salons which carry real Mucota products will have this information guide (From personal experience, i know of salons that claim that they also use argan oil in their treatments but don't actually use Mucota products).

I am really convinced by the whole Mucota range of products. They’re a Japanese brand and very effective for Asian hair.

Here’s how my hair looks after the cut, dye and treatment!! The stylists only blow dried my hair!! No ironing involved!

You can see that my hair is much less frizzy than before! Chris then applied some hair oil to my hair to keep it hydrated.

You can be assured that all the products they use are really top notch and very high quality.

Here are some more photos of how my hair looks like after washing it by myself at home so here are some photos I took.

My hair still feels super soft even after washing!

The Mucota 3 step treatment costs $140-$180 depending on your hair length but it is so worth the price paid!

There’s this special promotion that Artistry Hair Professional is having now and it’s going for $58 for a Mucota treatment (1 step only) and hair cut. I think this is a really good promotion if you want to try out the products by Mucota.

I also heard that they do sell Mucota products there and I’m really thinking of buying their shampoos and conditioners because the effects of Mucota products leave my hair feeling so soft! Plus Mucota products smell really really good.

Hello all!

I'm back with yet another food review of The Lighthouse at Fullerton. We really love this place a lot and Gabriel and I always celebrate our special occasions here.

We came back here to celebrate our third anniversary! We celebrate our first anniversary here as well and you can read my blog post about it here:http://doriateo.blogspot.sg/2014/11/how-we-celebrated-our-first-anniversary.html. Since the last time we came here, the food portions have changed.

For a change, we decided to head here for lunch. There are set lunches here but we didn't opt for it and went for their ala carte menu instead.

We had their Lighthouse Signature Antipasti Platter. It looks really different from the last time we had it. We were a little disappointed because there used to be more stuff in this platter in the past.

They no longer serve the Capaccio and Astice (sweet marine lobster) in this platter anymore.

The portions of the Prosciutto, Smoked Scamorza Cheese, Burrata and Frittura Di Paranza (fried seafood) which you see in the above picture were slightly bigger though. The Prosciutto paired with the Smoked Scarmorza Cheese remains to be my favourite.

Still, i was disappointed that there wasn't as much variety in this platter as i had originally expected.

Both Gabriel and i had their Tonnarelli All'astice each. This dish was fantastic! It came with lobsters and they were rather generous with it. The lobsters were also really fresh! The squid ink pasta was al dente and perfect too.  This dish was paired with a tinge of chilli, fragrant garlic and tomatoes too. I would definitely order this again if i'm headed to The Lighthouse again.

The ambience is still fantastic and there's a whole different vibe during lunch as compared to dinner. It's more quieter during dinners, whereas the atmosphere during lunch time was light and casual.

Overall, it was a rather good experience dining here. Still a little disappointed with the changes in the menu. Also, nothing in their set lunches/ free flow appetisers appealed to me. Nonetheless, i'll definitely still come back for more of their food.

Thank you for reading my honest review of this place!

Gab and I headed out for dinner today and we came across this deal at the Poulet outlet at Raffles City so i thought i should share this with all of you!

This $9.90 deal is valid till 16th June 2016 (Sundays to Thursdays)! I really love this deal because it comes with a quarter chicken, your own choice of side dish (mashed potato, french fries, chestnut butter rice or baguette) and a cup of ice lemon tea. Me and Gab both got one set meal each!

Their service was rather fast and the staff were all friendly, polite and helpful.

Their ice lemon tea was not those kind of teas you get from the vending machine. They really brewed the tea and it was not sweet at all, which is a good thing for me because i'm trying to cut down on my sugar intake.

We got their potato mash as one of our sides and this was SO good! It was so creamy and smooth and not too buttery!

They serve thick cut fries. Nothing really special about this though.

Here's their quarter roast chicken that they serve. This was so good! It was so well marinated and it tasted both sweet and savoury at the same time. The skin wasn't too crispy as well– it was just right. They probably have one of the best roasted chickens i've had in Singapore! It's super flavourful!

Here's one of their signature sauces. It's their mushroom sauce. You can add this sauce so that you can drizzle this all over your roast chicken so that it wouldn't be too dry. The best part is that it's actually quite a huge serving (enough for 2 quarters) and it only costs $2!

I would really recommend trying out their roast chicken with mushroom sauce and their potato mash! They also have a truffle mash and i'm intending on trying that the next time round i'm there. As for the fries, i think you would be better off giving it a miss.

It's almost a year and a half since I graduated, but i thought i'd just share some of the graduation pictures that Gabriel and I took.

The pictures turned out incredibly beautiful and I can only credit my photographer for doing such a brilliant job.

While it feels like we have a lot of freedom now that we've graduated, the reality is we have to work a lot more harder to make ends meet. In the past, I used to see Gabriel 24/7 literally, but now I rarely do see him. The pace of life here in Singapore is incredibly fast and everyone's busy working late into the night.

The time that I can spend with Gabriel was something I took for granted, and something that I now cherish a lot more. Hopefully, I'll try to set aside time for weekly dates and with the Christmas season just round the corner, we're hoping to spend more time together and do something fun!

View my latest post on Artistry Hair Professional at http://theblushlush.blogspot.sg/2017/10/mucota-dyna-c-curl-perm-at-artistry.html.

Recently, I had my hair cut at Artistry Hair Professional.
I absolutely love my hair cut. I thought this was a refreshing change after having had long hair for so many years. My head feels so much lighter now!

Artistry Hair Professional is really my trusted hair salon! I love how my hairstylist Chris cut my hair. All i had to tell him was that i wanted my hair short and let him work his magic on my hair. I also showed him a picture for reference and he did a great job at replicating it!

A haircut like this by my hairstylist Chris costs ~$40-$50 (including wash and blow)!

I'm so glad i decided to take the plunge to cut my hair because i'm left really satisfied! I can't wait to be back at Artistry Hair Professional to try out more of their services.

I've been going there for their services and you can read more about my Mucota Scena hair treatment that i did with them last June. You can find my post here: http://doriateo.blogspot.sg/2016/06/mucota-hair-treatment-by-headlines-by.html

I spent my monday night with Gabriel checking out Supply & Demand. I've always wanted to dine here but never got the chance to visit this place during the school term. Since we were in the area, we finally decided to look up this place and give this place a shot!

It didn't disappoint and the food was fantastic– both for its taste and for its price.

I love the interior of the place. It had a very rustic feel to it and it was really homely. The orange lights were pretty dim as well and it was quite quiet. It's a really nice and relaxed setting to have a date.

They have this really long counter where they do some preparations of our meals.

Even their menu had such a rustic feel to it. It's so old school!

Pollo E Piselli
I had ordered this pasta dish and i was extremely impressed by this! I think this is very value for money considering that such good pasta dishes usually cost above $20? This only costs me $18! You can choose either spaghetti or penne pasta for this. I love how the penne pasta was al dente. The cream sauce that came with it was so so good. The menu describes it to be a cheese infused cream sauce and i found that the cheese was not overpowering at all. It was just right. I could also taste some blue cheese in it as well.

There were green peas in the pasta as well. Although i found this slightly odd, i thought it was an interesting twist. Don't worry, the peas aren't the frozen peas you normally get off the supermarket. The pasta came with sundried tomatoes and parsley as well which i thought was a good fit to the dish. I really enjoyed this so much and would definitely recommend you to get it if you really enjoy creamy sauces.

Roasted Chicken
This costs us $17. Compared to other places serving similar dishes this was definitely worth the price. You can find this under the "Carte Blanche" section of the menu. You can order any meat you want– fish, chicken, beef, pork, lamb, wagyu. The chef will prepare the meat according to however he wants to for the day. So if you order this, just a word of caution, you might not get the exact same dish shown in the picture above.

Gab was brave enough to order this even though we didn't know what we would end up getting. It turned out really great anyway! The salad was so well marinated in the dressing. It was a sweet dressing with a tangy tinge to it; nothing like what i've tasted before. This dish also came with potato salad (which is hidden in the photo above). The potato salad was average, pretty much like the one at Ashtons. The chicken was grilled and seasoned in a sweet sauce. Even though it was grilled, it was not dry at all! The chicken was also topped with olives, french beans and bell peppers. I thought this was a perfect mix.

I'll be ending this post with two photos of us just so you could have a look at the surroundings of where we were sitting and gain a perspective of the general ambience of this cafe. It's really laid back and chill. It really reminds me quite a lot of The Coastal Settlement at Changi. If you're looking for fanciful tables and chairs, you can't expect much from this place though; We sat on really plain looking metal chairs.

This place however is fantastic for get togethers or casual dining. If you're looking for good food around the area, this place is definitely recommended as well!

I remember mentioning that Sushi Tei was one of my favourite places to go. It so near school so i always head to the Raffles City outlet after classes. I have blogged about my experience at Sushi Tei at the Big Splash outlet. You can view that blog post here: http://doriateo.blogspot.sg/2014/11/sunday-at-sushi-tei.html

We tried new dishes this time. I thought they were all equally fantastic and Sushi Tei really never fails!

Hokkaido Corn Cream Croquette ($8.60)
When this first came i was so impressed! It looks so presentable and even came with a sauce which we could dip the croquettes in. Although i'm not a fan of croquettes and not a fan of corn, i really enjoyed this dish. It was deep fried to perfection on the outside.

The inside revealed a very piping hot sweet cream with corn bits. I almost burned my tongue because it was so piping hot inside. The only drawback about this dish is its calories. Sigh. Deep fried and cream is such a diet killer.

Kani Mentai Mayo Roll ($8.60)
This is one of the sushis we usually order as well. I really like the mayo sauce on it. It's too good because they torch it over a flame and there is this smoky flavour to it. Inside the sushi is deep fried crab meat. So perfect. And such a good substitute for shiok maki because of its mayo sauce.

Yaki Udon ($10.80)
I'm a fan of Yaki Udon or Yaki Soba and i just thought that i had to try this. I've tried a lot of different kinds of Yaki Udon but i thought this didn't meet my expectations. Definitely not getting this again, it was such a disappointment. It was too sour for my liking; they had probably used too much of the tonkatsu sauce. I've tried better.

During the exam period, i've also been heading to Food For Thought. I've blogged about the outlet at Queen Street and you can read my blog post here: http://doriateo.blogspot.sg/2014/11/food-for-thought-queen-street.html

This time i headed to the outlet at National Museum instead of the one at Queen Street. It's closer to my school and SMU students get a 20% discount off from Mondays to Fridays. To relieve stress, i've been heading to Food For Thought in hopes that i could feel better after a good meal. Hahaha. I think food really affects my mood and good food makes me happy, of course!

Full Works ($22)
I ordered their Full Works this time and i'm always so pleased with it. The hash browns are my favourite. It's unhealthy but so worth the calories. I suppose it's the same with bacon. The scrambled eggs are perfect. It's so fluffy and Food For Thought certainly got their consistency right. The bread is toasted but not crunchy. The edges are but the white bread is so soft. Probably my favourite part of this meal. It's good that this meal came with salad too. But to be honest, this dish is definitely still unhealthy, which explains why sometimes i have a love-hate relationship with Full Works– It's such a good breakfast, but such an unhealthy one. I hope i'm not stopping you from ordering this though, it certainly is worth the calories!

Also, the ambience of this place deserves 5 stars. It's quiet. In the morning, there are a lot of people having a cup of coffee and reading their books. It's cool as well as this place is air conditioned (unlike the one at Queen Street!). You can also hold events here as well. It's a very secluded and quiet place and they'll probably draw the foldable doors so that your event can be a more private one.

Lately i have been trying out some vietnamese food because i'm under the impression that Vietnamese food seems a lot healthier?

I've tried out two places– Crystal Jade Viet Cafe and Sandwich Saigon. Can i just say that they are two completely different restaurants? The quality of food is also really different. I didn't like the Crystal Jade Viet Cafe at all and they should probably stick to Chinese food. Sandwich Saigon however was a really nice place to have Vietnamese food. They really live up to their name. I enjoyed their sandwiches so much.

So anyway, Gab and I headed to the Crystal Jade Viet Cafe at Bugis+. We decided to try this new place we saw for dinner since we were waiting for The Hunger Games to start. Unfortunately, this place really disappointed us. It did not taste like Vietnamese food.

To be honest, the only saving grace of this restaurant was its really nice interior.

Vietnamese Vermicelli with Fried Fish Cake ($8.90)
This came with sauces which you could mix with the noodles as the noodles isn't seasoned. But even though i had mixed the sauces in, it still tasted bland. The sauce didn't look too healthy too. It was just oil? The fish cake was too fishy of my liking. This was served cold too. I definitely did not enjoy this dish at all.

Chicken Pho ($8.90)
Gab had ordered this and the soup was bland. I couldn't really taste the chicken broth. We couldn't really taste the chicken broth. The pho was not of good quality was well. It had a very rough texture compared to some of the phos we've tried before. I was thinking that Crystal Jade would actually serve something of better quality and we were both very disappointed with our meals.

Well, but this didn't stop us from trying Vietnamese food. We actually walked past Sandwich Saigon, which to our surprise was really crowded! We thought that the food must have been pretty good so we decided to head inside to try it out. The food was really great and we've been making trips back to this place for their very awesome sandwiches!

Menu
Fresh Spring Rolls with Prawns ($5.50)
We were in high hopes when we ordered this but it didn't meet our expectations. Sadly, although the sandwiches were perfect this didn't taste as good. The prawns were halved and there were only three of those halved prawns for one roll. Also, there's absolutely zero dressing in this and this was filled with vermicelli. Certainly not what we were expecting as we didn't want additional carbs to our meal.

Smoked Chicken Sandwich ($5.90)
This costs us only $5.90 with no GST and service charge! Yay! I really enjoyed this because the bread was so crispy and there was so little mayo but it still tasted really good? I liked how they added the Chinese parsley. It gave the whole sandwich such a refreshing taste.

Garlic Chicken Sandwich ($5.90)
This was even better than the Smoked Chicken Sandwich! I like how they seasoned the chicken in a really sweet sauce. There wasn't so strong a garlic taste. If i were to go back, this would definitely be on my order list!

In generally, i really enjoy Vietnamese food because it's really healthy. I'll definitely be on the look out for more Vietnamese restaurants in future!

Recently i have been watching youtube makeup guru StyleSuzi (https://www.youtube.com/user/StyleSuzi) and figuring out how she does her makeup. I absolutely love her!
I actually took a picture of her looks that i really like and i'm hoping to replicate them! When i saw that she had theBalm NUDE 'tude Eyeshadow Palette, i knew i had to get it as well! I checked out SASA for their price only to realize that it costs a total damage of $57. There's too much to pay for one eyeshadow palette.

Thankfully, people online are selling it for half the price and i managed to get it only at $30 including shipping! I got mine from here:
http://list.qoo10.sg/item/THE-BALM-THE-BALM-NUDETUDE-NUDE-EYESHADOW/415392934

I'm very satisfied with my buy. The quality of the eyeshadow is there, just that the packaging inside is a little dirty. The mirror isn't too clean but i guess i can make do with that!

You get what i mean when i say the mirror isn't too clean...
The colours are perfect though. It isn't extremely pigmented so it's very easy for me to control how much product to put on my eye.

Some close up shots of how my make up looks under indoor lighting.

Okay, the quality of pictures here isn't too good as i was using my front camera. Here's how my makeup looks under outdoor lighting.

I really love this eyeshadow palette. It's so versatile and nothing loud. I've been wearing it on a daily basis! I hope you enjoyed this post. I'll be back for more blogging soon!
