The Bearfoot Baker offers hundreds of step by step tutorials for cookie decorating and recipes on how to bake delicious desserts. I love making cookies but, I love showing others how to make then even more! Don't Wait, Let's Create! Blog by Lisa Synder.
I did it again so please forgive me. I missed a chance to show holiday cookies in time for the holiday. YEP! That’s what I did. Holiday cookies were made for Father’s Day, but I didn’t get the tutorial ready in time. So what’s a girl to do? Well, as I thought about it, I decided these cookies don’t have to be Father’s Day cookies because they’ll work for any day of the year. They’ll work well for ‘Happy Birthday, You Super Cool Pop’ birthday cookies, You’re #1 Pops, or You’re the Best Pops EVER Cookies. Let’s have some fun and make “Cool Pop” cookies for our dads because we love them so much.
This tutorial has taken me a while to finish. Don’t get me wrong it’s not because the cookies are hard to make. It’s hard because it’s an emotional kind of post. I think all of you know about my brain tumor I named “Bouncer.” I don’t want to go into a lot of detail because I want to focus on the positive. I’m going through recovery and getting better every day, but there’s one thing I have to say and I decided to say it with cookies. Here goes, “This is MY BRAIN and You Can’t Have it, BOUNCER!” Get out of my head and stay OUT!
WOW, I feel so much better. So no more focus on “Bouncer” the Big Bad Brain Tumor. Instead, we can focus on brain cookies that will be cute for Halloween. Did I say cute? I meant to say creepy!
I don’t know about you, but when cute royal icing transfers are added to cookies I think it makes a huge difference in the cuteness factor. I love fun little flowers or simple candy decoration glasses to add personality to your cookie characters. The great thing about royal icing flowers and candy decorations is you can make them yourself. Customizing your cookies is cheap, easy, and fun. It’s a great way to use your leftover royal icing. No waste!
If you don’t know how to get started this tutorial and video will show you how to make cute decorations for your cookies. Adding a little character to your cookies is simple and it’s cheap. You can make almost anything you want. Don’t wait…let’s create!
Do you have a Sugarbelle Stencil Snap? I’ve got one and it’s super helpful to use when you’re stenciling cookies. The great thing about it is you can make it different sizes to use with smaller and larger stencils. I’ve even tilted a stencil sideways to make it fit on the cookie so I could get the image in the center of the cookie. This is a nice tool that I’ve had for a while and I’m just now getting a chance to use it. I’m sad I didn’t get to use it before because it’s a really great tool that helps you get control over the stencils and how you place them.
Isn’t this stencil and stencil holder cute? I think it’s adorable!
The words of the day are”BEE HAPPY!” Okay, that’s cheesy I know, but how can you see happy little bee cookies with bee’s on them and not think anything but happy thoughts. Especially if you use a couple of fun stencils, the Sugarbelle Stencil Snap, and an edible marker to make it look the bees are flying around having fun! Let’s all “BEE HAPPY” and make some bee cookies.
Happy Earth Day Cookies You will Love! I know, I know Earth Day was yesterday! I started working on these cookies yesterday morning and I told myself I would finish these cookies today! Well, it’s been a while since I’ve completed a blog post in one day. Guess what? I did it! I finished the cookies, took the pictures, downloaded them to the computer, edited all the pictures, and then, I needed to go to sleep. I went to sleep because I couldn’t stay awake. I woke up this morning and worked on the video and decided I’d share this with you even though I’m a day late. I think you’ll find some things that are good and helpful and if you do, let me know.
Since my surgery, I’m behind on blog comments, Facebook comments, and Instagram comments. I’m working on catching up and I appreciate all of you giving me the time to do so. Hopefully, I’ll catch up within the next week. Thanks for your love and support!
I told you all I’d make some Easter Bunny Cookies, but I chose to make Easter Egg Bunny Cookies instead! You can take an egg cookie cutter and a bunny head cookie cutter and turn it into a cute bunny cookie. It’s fun and I hope you try it. You may need to try it for a birthday or just for fun because I’m late for Easter. Sorry about that! “Bouncer” the Brain Tumor has my timing off. #ByeByeBouncer. Anyway, I hope you enjoy these bunnies!
One of the good things about making these cookies is you can make the bunny face or the back of the bunny with the cute little tail as I did with How to Make Simple Bunny Cookies.
