In the 2nd hour, I will be joined by good friend of the show Dr. BBQ, Ray Lampe. We will get a quick update on the restaurant get his thoughts on the BBQ Hall of Fame selections and see what he has going on over the next few weeks including something called The Black Deer Festival.

Closing out the show tonight will be the new Director of Marketing for FOGO Charcoal, Joey Machado. For the last number of years Joey has been synonymous with B&B. He hopes to have the same success…or more…as he starts his new position and mission with FOGO Charcoal. (June 4, 2019 – Hour Two)

In the 2nd hour, I will be joined by a triad of first time guests! Up first, Lee and Mark Quessenberry of Quessenberry BBQ. Their late Father, Jim Quessenberry, was on the semi-final list to get into the BBQ Hall of Fame this year. Although he didn’t end up making it in this time around, there is a unique story to be told and they will share it tonight!

Closing out the show tonight will be the Marketing Director of Dreamland BBQ, Jonathan Bird. He will tell us about John “big Daddy” Bishop and how Dreamland got started and how it eventually grew into the powerhouse that it is today. He will also share his thoughts on what it means to Dreamland having John part of the 2019 BBQ Hall of Fame class!

First up, the creator of “How To BBQ Right“, Malcom Reed joins me. We will get the Memphis in May recap from Malcom from the competition side and we will also get his thoughts on the winners and how the event was in general. We will also discuss the new 2019 BBQ Hall of Fame class and a few of his newly released recipes on YouTube.

Next, 2nd Tuesday of the month regular and show favorite, Sam The Cooking Guy joins me. Sam recently fried a steak in oil on his YouTube channel. When I was growing up, we did something kind of similar but it was with chunks of stew meat and we knew that as fondue…not with cheese! We will also talk about ELOTE which I just discovered last summer…I’m sure we will talk about nonsense as well!

What’s on tap:  This episode brings you back to June 2011.  In the first segment we revisit one of the best or worst BBQ products to ever hit the market.  Have you ever heard of “Que Cologne”?  Yes, a smokey scent that was put out by Pork Barrel BBQ years ago.  I was the first person to snatch up a bottle, and in my opinion, it was the WORST thing ever created on earth.  In the 2nd segment, Amy Mills from Oncue stopped by for the very first time.  She happens to be the daughter of legendary BBQ’er Mike Mills of 17th Street BBQ.  We talk about her background and what it’s like working with her Dad. First time guest Tony Bunce of Historic BBQ makes debut on the show. Tony shares an interesting story of starting out in the competitive BBQ circuit (and being successful) and, over time, turning more into a competitive steak cook. Tony has taken 3 GC’s in a row under the ASCA format and will be talking about those wins. He can also talk on the difference between the 3 current steak bodies (ASCA, SCA and NGS).
