Sharing my top Anniversary Sale picks for the boys and girls today. Was so impressed with what all they had to offer for both! I will tell you, these sell out quickly so if you’re interested, order sooner than later!
Nordstrom’s Anniversary (Early Access) Sale starts today. If you’re a Nordstrom card holder, then you get to shop a week before everyone else! And trust me, that’s such a good thing! Lots of the good stuff sells quickly and shopping sooner ensures you score your most favorite picks before they sell out! If you’ve never shopped the sale before, basically Nordstrom offers awesome discounts on lots of their pieces that later will go back up to full price once the sale is over. And the last thing you want to do is shop later on, after the sale is over and have to buy it full price. So get it now, while you can get it on sale! And if you don’t have a Nordstrom card, it’s not too late. Head over here and sign up and you can still shop the sale early. Everyone has access to the sale on July 19th.
Since this is the first day of the sale, I’m sharing my most favorite picks! As the sale continues over the next few weeks, I’ll share my top picks in all sections, such as Shoes, Home, Mens, Kids, etc.
I mentioned this dress yesterday and how I obviously love it since I own it in two colors. There are lots of colors available, but the navy ink is one I just ordered too. Hoping to find an excuse to wear it soon!
The sale is too good this year! Can’t believe they have these marked down. I seriously have worn these everyday in winter for the past 5+ years. Have never found another that compares. They’d make a great gift too!
There are so many Barbour jackets available during the sale! Obsessed with this one! I know it’s crazy to think of jackets when it’s 90 degrees outside right now, but this would be a fun surprise to use when the weather cools, especially when you can score it now for an awesome price!
On Friday night, we headed out to The Windjammer to hear the Blue Dogs play. We were so happy the rain didn’t ruin the outside performance. Love this spot for concerts so much!
On Saturday, we headed out on the boat with friends and enjoyed the yummiest “Summer Days Package” that Hamby Catering is offering.
Genius! It was so nice to pick it up the day before and enjoy it all on the boat the next day. Sometimes prep time for food for the boat takes awhile. This was a great time to take a day off of prepping!
Loving this tasty frosé treat! It’s perfect for the boat. Didn’t have to worry about my drink sloshing around.
Lanier in serious mode trying to get us to the Brett Young concert on Sunday night by water. He was playing at Boone Hall Plantation. Unfortunately, we got there and the tide ended up being too low. Maybe next time!
But we enjoyed dinner at Swine and Swig at its new spot right off the water beforehand, so it still made for a fun evening. And the food was amazing!
Haven’t tried a fishtail in awhile. Loved this one!
Cheers! This Bon & Viv creation the other night was delicious! Basically, they served Bon & Viv Seltzers without the flavor and bartenders added in their own flavors. I loved the blueberry mint and the strawberry mint.
Dress (sold out, but the print is still available in all of these styles here) // Earrings // Bracelet (as a necklace)
That evening, I had some one-on-one time with Logan. He asked to go back to a Riverdogs game just us and he loved every minute of it!
When we got to the game, it was storming so we hid out for a little while and had some dinner. Logan didn’t seem to mind!
Logan brought his buddy Sawyer with him to watch the game.
And for the finale – fireworks! This was a special occasion since it was the night before the 4th and the Riverdogs didn’t play on the 4th. But fireworks are always on Friday nights, so be sure to get there for a game. They’re always so awesome!
I love that he enjoys watching baseball as much as I do!
Can’t wait to get back for another game soon!

They always have the best time here, exploring all the rooms. Wheeler is at the cusp of aging out, but she still loves the Publix shopping area and the arts and crafts room.
Each room has so much to explore!
Logan and Vaughn’s favorite rooms are the pirate ship (complete with costumes) and the castle, where he always loves riding around on his stick horse. The water room is always a huge hit too! Argh, matey!
It’s perfect timing for Wheeler’s age and older because they will be redoing the museum, offering more for the older children.
These illustrations are just some of the many concepts that they’ll be creating in the next two years.
Don’t worry though, the museum will stay open while it’s being transformed!
They’ll be renovating these new areas in stages, so by 2021 the entire museum will be fully completed!
After spending over three hours at the museum, we worked up an appetite. Ruru’s for the win!
Had to make a pit stop to visit our friendly frog while we were walking around.
All in all, it was a great day! Just one of the many fun things to do in Charleston! Love our city so much! So happy my kids do too!
After a full morning of fishing, we headed to Kiawah to swim and enjoy lunch and dinner. We hung out as long as we could on the beach until it was late enough to venture closer to the harbor to watch the fireworks at Patriots near the bridge.
Lots of y’all asked about my swim top. It’s from J.Crew from last year. But I did find two very similar ones that are currently available. Love both.
This was a first for us to watch the fireworks from the water so the kids were super excited!
Enjoying some Moon Pies while we waited.
After much anticipation, it did not disappoint! We loved every minute of it! It was so cool to see a 360 view of all the fireworks going off around us on the different islands. It was as if they saved the best for last, waiting until the end of the others to shoot off the Patriots fireworks!
Beach days are always good days! And that’s just what we did to start our week!
Ready to swim!
Had lots of y’all ask about these sunnies. I’ve had them a few years now, but I did find them available here.
Give me all the red, white and blue this week! Wearing this bikini top, these bottoms, my sunnies are sold out, but I found a similar pair here. And my hat is from Parrot Surf Shop from last summer. I found this similar one and it’s only $16!
Yes, my lashes are real…with the help of Latisse. Y’all may remember that a patch of my lashes fell out earlier this year. I used Latisse to help them grow back, and boy, did it do the trick!
Woodhouse just launched their new summer service called Total Swellness. All of these CBD treatments are available all summer long.
I got the massage and it was ah-mazing! The massage lotion they used had little sparkles in it and my skin was literally glowing after my massage. Highly recommend!
On Friday night, the kids and I had the BEST time at the Riverdogs baseball game! Lanier was supposed to come with us, but he threw out his back that morning and needed to rest it.
We quickly changed out our hats for Riverdogs ones!
Brandon Lockridge was kind enough to sign our baseballs!
The kids loved hanging out with Chelsea! They cracked up when I showed them the photo of Chelsea putting bunny ears on them.
Logan was so excited to watch!
We love listening to 103.5 WEZL, so when the kids spotted the Weasel at the game they definitely wanted a pic! Check out Logan’s hat he put on his head.
During the game, Walter took us on a behind the scenes tour of the stadium. The kids loved every minute of it! This was in the locker room.
Effie telling me to be quiet. We were headed to the dugout during the game. Walter reminded us to be super quiet because the players would be in game mode and didn’t want any distractions.
The view from the press box!
Did you know anyone who attends the game can check out this view? Just head to the second floor and it’s right there. A great photo op!
Corndogs for all!
We had the best time at the game! They were down 4-5 in the 6th inning and came back to win it 12-5 getting 5 hits in the 7th and 3 hits in the 8th. We loved all the scoring! The game didn’t end until close to 11, but the kids didn’t mind. And for the finale, fireworks on the field with Charlie and Chelsea!
Definitely a night they’ll never forget! All summer long, take $2 off your ticket with code: SWEETSOUTHERNPREP. Get your tickets here! We’ll be headed back soon!
Last week, Effie, Logan and Vaughn had beach camp out on Sullivan’s Island and had the best time, as always!
Some of y’all have asked about Wheeler and where she’s been. For her birthday, she asked my parents if she could stay with them for a few days by herself. It was the sweetest thing and of course they obliged! We’d planned on doing it later this summer, but with the passing of my grandfather, it was the perfect time for my mom to have Wheeler’s company. Wheeler also got to spend time with all of her cousins and visits to their houses, so needless to say she had a fun time. We all missed her so much! When she came back, I was ready for some one-on-one time with her, while the others were at camp.
Our first activity was walking the Ben Sawyer Bridge.
Her reward after walking the bridge – gelato at Beardcats!
Next, we headed out to the beach to swim and read!
Meanwhile, the kids had the best week at beach camp! They’ve been going for the past few years and still love it just as much!
Can you tell Logan loves him some chocolate? And yes, his shirt actually stayed clean until RIGHT AFTER I took this photo. I told him he had chocolate on his face, so he grabbed his sleeve and well…no more clean white shirt.
Last week, Effie and I had a little girl’s day and had so much fun!
She picked out the lunch spot. Taco Boy! If y’all are familiar with it, this is where the huge tree out front used to be. Since it died, they replaced it with outdoor seating.
Effie did the ordering too. Nacho Heaven!
After lunch, we went out for manis and pedis. This was the first time Effie had ever received a professional mani/pedi, so it was an extra special treat! And boy did she savor every minute of it – from picking out her colors, to the massage chair to sipping on whatever drink she could choose – she chose YooHoo.
That evening, I headed out with friends aboard the Palmetto Breeze for a sunset cruise in the harbor. While we’d heard of the storm warnings for later in the evening, there wasn’t a dark cloud in sight. But I will say, we were the only ones that brought rain jackets. And by the end, we were sure glad we did!
How sweet is this pup?
On our way back to Shem Creek, the clouds definitely rolled in! Talk about ominous! Captain John timed it just right. We docked just in time before the bottom fell out of those clouds!
