Happy Friday! We made it to the end of the week! Today I am coming at you with some summer accessories, like these adorable crab statement earrings, a fun cooler backpack, colorful gingham dress and more! This Sunny Style Finds series was created so I could share fun, colorful and seasonal items that will bring happiness to your day and wardrobe! My hope is that all these items make you as happy and excited for summer as I am!

SUGARFIX X Bauleblar Crab Earrings, $12.99

How adorable are these crab statement earrings!? When I first saw them I freaked! Then I went to Target the next day to find them and had no luck. Be the cutest person at all your July 4th celebrations, summer picnics and tropical vacations! I’d totally wear these with an all-white ensemble to really stand out or a summery dress.

Old Navy Gingham Print Dress, $39.99

Old Navy is killing it this season! They have so so many adorable gingham pieces for summer! I love this yellow sundress and wouldn’t wear it every Satuday! Since I know some of you are not into yellow, no need to worry, they have tons of navy, pink and black pieces too!

Target Pineapple Backpack Cooler, $20

Okay this pineapple backpack cooler is ridiculous on so many levels and also amazing! Just imagine walking into Target to buy some much-needed Pantene shampoo and then BAM, you spot this bag and buy it instead. Then you figure you’ll just get the shampoo the next week. Deff never guilty of doing anything like that. It’s exactly like the memes you see all over FB and Insta. Can you believe it’s only $20 and is a cooler + a backpack? I mean…genius! I’d totally wear this to the beach and pack it full of yummy snacks, a big lunch and lots of water!

Saint James Red Striped Tee, $79

For the longest time, I have wanted a Saint James striped long sleeve top to add to my growing stripe collection. The brand has rich history when it comes to designing items with Breton stripes and I am a sucker or clothes with stories. It comes with a bit of a higher price tag but is well worth it to me! Striped tops, especially this short sleeved one, are the perfect item to throw on and immediately feel pulled together. I literally never get rid of any of my striped pieces because they are truly timeless. Red and white striped tops style amazing with overalls, denim, white jeans and anything navy!

Madewell Floral Tank Top, $65

I am always on the hunt for girly summer tops I can wear with denim shorts. It’s not as easy as it seems. Sometimes if the top doesn’t have any ruffles or feminine features, it gets to soccer mom-ish for me. When you can’t layer, your options become much more limited. That’s why I love the fun take on a normal spaghetti strap not. Just look at the floral print, peplum style and ruffled straps…so girly! This top is perfect for warm-weather vacations, summer weekends spent outside and even as a beach/pool cover up!

Old Navy Banana Print Midi Dress, $40

This is not a traditional Old Navy piece if you ask me but I love it! If you are planning any tropical trips this summer, this dress is for you! Since I live in a tropical place, I’d wear this all summer long! I adore the bold print and tie waist.

There are so many affordable and cute summer finds this season. What is your favorite!? Mine has to be the crab earrings!

Hope you had an amazing week! Mine has been pretty low key but sort of busy. I was able to find sub jobs this entire week besides Monday! That’s always a win because sometimes it’s hard to fill up an entire week. Basically, I sign into a system, see what days and times teachers need me and I “accept a job”. My schedule varies day to day and week to week. Like next week I only have 2 days scheduled, so it’s really a hit or miss.

Like this week I worked at three different schools. They all start and end at completely different times and I seriously never know what class I’m subbing for or what time until the night before. Sometimes I’ll arrive at the school and they will ask me who I’m subbing for and I literally will shrug and tell them I have no idea. I know the class, I just cannot for the life of me memorize 5 different teachers names per week. At this point, I’m over it ha! It’s a bear to keep track of. When this season is done and over with, you have no idea how excited I am going to be! Only 2 weeks left and after we celebrate! If you don’t love constant change and uncertainty, I would not recommend being a substitute teacher.

Other than that my young adult church group that I meet with every Weds night, met at the beach for some volleyball! We legit hit the ball onto A1A a few times and had to rescue it. The weather was insanely gorgeous, the air was filled with the best sea breeze and we got to end the night with a colorful sunset. I will never regret spending nights by the water. It just calms my soul like nothing else.

Tonight I’m heading to dinner with my family at a yummy farm to table restaurant and then hoping to visit my newly pregnant friend and hang with her at her adorable house! I live a simple life and love it. There’s no weekend plans on my agenda and that’s exactly the way I like it. Low key and chill. Except I do plan on hitting the Vinyard Vines Target limited collection for Target that arrives on Saturday, May 18th! All of their pieces look incredibly cute and coastal! Lots of stripes, navy and nautical inspiration! Be sure to check it out!!!!

Come summer, I am all about pool floats! The more the merrier! Growing up, my family always had dozens of pool floats that we would buy from our local toy store. Now, Amazon is the go-to place to buy pool floats for summer. Right now we have a pizza slice, the crying tears of joy emoji and the flamingo you will see below floating in our pool! Don’t they just make you so happy and excited for some fun in the sun!?

ONE – Flamingo

TWO – Watermelon

THREE – Leaf

FOUR Graphic Swan

FIVE – Palm Tree Inner Tube

SIX – Man Eating Shark

SEVEN – Chill Pill

EIGHT – Pineapple

NINE – Mermaid Tail

TEN – Smarties

My absolute favorites have to be the flamingo, pineapple and giant leaf! The flamingo pool float is one of the most popular searches for pool floats on Google, which makes total sense. I mean…just look how cute and fun they are. They are perfect for pool parties (obviously), the lake, beach and boat days! If your a kid at heart like me, it’s like opening presents on Christmas morning!

If you follow me along on Instagram, you would remember when my sister and I took out my giant flamingo float to a local beach. It was so much fun but super hard to blow up. Our AD adaptor started smoking and we needed a car vacuum to blow up the float because the hole was so big. It all worked out in the end though! We swam on that float for hours and people kept asking if we were on Spring Break. Nope, we both just had a day off work.

Most of these floats seem to have normal size holes that would blow up fine with a pump like this one if your out and about. Otherwise, I’d use an air compressor because they blow up the floats so much faster!

Meet my new favorite dress for summer! Last month when I visited my new blogger friends in West Palm Beach, I knew I just had to wear my button front dress from Old Navy! It’s the perfect dress for any warm-weather travel destination. I bought it as a present to myself to wear on my Birthday. It’s always been a tradition of mine to make the day feel even more special!

I need to do a recap of all the pretty photos I took in West Palm Beach! That’s where we shot these outfit photos! There’s colorful buildings and flowers everywhere! When I met up with Emily and Hailey, our goal was to shoot a few outfit photos in fun WPB locations. Thanks to Hailey for knowing her way around and being our guide!

I drove up on a Sunday afternoon, we shot photos for a few hours (4 to be exact), then ate a delish taco dinner because we were wiped! Photos are hard work! And I get so cranky when I’m that hungry! Then I drove back home right after since it’s only a 2 hours drive from Melbourne. I hope to go back for a girls weekend to explore around the cute resort town on bikes and check out their beaches! If your looking for a gorgeous, coastal and historical place to visit, West Palm Beach is a must visit vacay spot!

Old Navy Dress (on sale under $25, here’s another option that comes in two bright colors!) / Similar Basket Bag / Castaner Espadrilles / Sugarfix X Baublebar Earrings (under $13!)/ Guess Watch

Every summer I feel like it’s truly my time to shine. I just love summer styles, including dresses! Really though, I just want to shop shop shop right now and buy all the cute coastal summer items! When I’m not wearing shorts or a swimsuit, you will always catch me wearing a super comfortable and lightweight dress! Last year button front dresses were super popular and I was hitting myself for not purchasing any! As soon as I saw that Old Navy had a really affordable option in April, I jumped on that! I’m wearing a size small and it fits perfectly!

One thing that is so hard about the retail world is that clothing items sell out way to fast. I bought this dress a little over a month ago and it’s only available in black now. The great thing is that these dresses are popular and I was able to find two super very similar options from brands I love here and here. Old Navy also has a cute chambray button front dress and this style that comes in yellow and rose. Both are under $25!

Hanging out with other fashion blogger friends is so much fun! There’s loads of creativity around every corner! When we found this perfect spot that had the perfect amount of shade, sun and pretty flowers, I threw all my stuff on the ground including my straw bag to start shooting Hailey. We had a few options for straw bags and while Hailey and I were busy, Emily had set up our purses on the ledge. It’s probably one of my favorite photos ever and just makes me happy! They all spark joy!

My Castaner espadrilles were a bit of a splurge and something I bought when I was teaching last year. They are truly the only type of “heel” I ever want to wear anymore. If you’re looking for the perfect summer espadrille to wear to summer BBQ’s, with all your pretty dresses and on every tropical vacation, this is the shoe you want! You can find them in a bunch of colors but of course, the yellow ones are my favorite! Wearing a size 40EU with the 60 height.

Style your button front dress with espadrilles, statement earrings and a straw bag for the perfect vacation or summer outfit! Get all the outfit details below!

How on earth is it already May!? I remember counting down the days when I first started my temporary job as a sub in August. Now, looking back, I’m wondering where exactly those last 10 months went. I remember as a kid always thinking adults were so strange saying how the years and days flew by. Now I’m pretty sure I understand. I’ve always been a take it slow, enjoy the moment kind of girl but every once and a while I see it. They just disappear!

The school year for 2019 in our county ends the last week of May. I was just looking at my calendar and realized that Memorial Day is in a few weeks. Woohoo for days off! It’s weird because the students have off that Monday then go back to school Tues, Weds and Thurs for exams. If I designed the schedule, you can bet the school year would have ended the week before! I guess I’ll just leave that one to the experts.

As far as memorial day outfits go, I usually dress really casually. The gym I workout at always has a fun AM workout that I go to. This year I think they’re doing the Murph workout…loook it up, it’s insane! Then I usually hit the beach or swim with my family all afternoon and change into a cute outfit later in the day for a late lunch/early dinner. Honestly, I would say most holidays I rarely get dressed in normal clothes ha. Is anyone else like this? I just like to take my holidays seriously and enjoy them to their fullest without worrying about being super cute. This red and white outfit that was featured on my guest post on Carly the Prepster is most likely what I will be wearing if I end up wearing anything besides a swimsuit! Hopefully this inspires you to dress cuter than I will be!

Fun story. When I shot this look for my guest post on Carly the Prepster, my photographer Isaac and I walked down to this super beautiful area by the water. Normally when we shoot, fun things always happen and God always gives us fun surprises. This time this giant sailboat made an appearance and we were able to capture it for the photos. It truly made my day and took the photos to the next level!

In the summertime, I am all about white shorts. I wear them at least once a week, if not more. See a few other ways how I styled them for summer here and here. This is a perfect example of an item I re-wear all the time. Sometimes I place pressure on myself to always show you all new items when in reality I can’t afford to buy 50 brand new pairs of white shorts just to post them my blog. Maybe one day but I live on a tight budget for now! I love a great structured pair but I also love fun detailing like this scalloped pair or this pair with cute buttons up the front. If you want a more relaxed pair, Madewell makes a cute high waisted denim style.

What is new with you all?! The summer heat has officially hit Florida! It’s been high 80’s and hit 90 this weekend and the back sweat has officially started. Maybe TMI?! Oh well. Two weekends ago I mentioned how I had visited some blogger friends in West Palm Beach for the first time. I didn’t realize how hot it was just 2 hours South of me. The sub-tropical temps are truly no joke. I don’t know how any of you in South Florida do it!

If you have ever visited Florida in the summer, you probably know what love bugs are. Well, they have made their first appearance and it’s so incredibly nasty! They basically live for 24 hours, eat the paint off your car, stick to anything white and are just gross! If you know you know. This past Saturday I tried to go to our local public library and they were swarming by the river. As soon as I tried to get back in my car they were literally in my hair, on my legs and crawling on my clothes. They don’t bite or anything but if you touch them to hard, which it’s extremely easy to do, they squish all over you.

Last week and weekend were super busy. My older sister came into town so my fam and I had dinner, I helped second shoot a wedding, went to Palm Beach the next day and had a long work week. More planned than I normally like! So this weekend I took it easy. I had not planned to hang with any friends but my sorority sister ended up coming into town so I met her for a breakfast at Backwater. Other than that I started reading a new mystery book, swam in my pool, cleaned and prepped some blog posts for the coming weeks! Exciting stuff ova here.

Are you doing anything exciting for Memorial Day Weekend!? I always love holidays on Monday because it makes such a short work week! All about the fun!

This swimsuit is actually a Target find that I bought for my Hawaii trip last year! It was easily the best $30 I spent and was perfect for exploring the island. I found a super similar swimsuit for under $40 here!

Shop 5 Swimsuits Under $50!

J.Crew Top / Bottom (both are under $50)

J.Crew always has the cutest swimsuits for summer ever! I am a huge stripes fan and wear them all the time which means summer suits are no different. As a girl with a super small bust, I love a little ruffle detail on tops because it add a little extra to those areas that are lacking ha!

Target Striped One Piece Swimsuit ($39.99)

I think this swimsuit is adorable and super unique! I love the one shoulder strap and the classic color block design. It even has UPF 50+ fabric! Such a perfect suit for Memorial day and 4th of July festivities!

Aerie Scoop Top ($21)

Aerie Bottom ($18)

You know I couldn’t post swimsuits without including a bright yellow one! I am a huge fan of scoop neck suits because they fit my athletic body and make it so easy to swim and participate in water activities. Nothing is worse than a nagging swimsuit the entire day! Aerie also never uses photo retouching and real models which is so cool!!! Be sure to use their hashtag #aeriereal when you post the cute photos of your suits!

Aerie Seersucker Top ($25)

Aerie Seersucker Bottom ($20)

More ruffles on the top and bottoms! Tops with adjustable ties are the best because you can make it tighter or looser depending on your height and bust! I do love the navy seersucker print too! You honestly can’t beat Aeries quality and prices!

J.Crew Factory One Shoulder Swimsuit ($36)

Now I do love all of J.Crews swimsuits but sometimes I can’t afford to pay $100 for an item that will only last a season. The next best option is their factory store! Their quality and prices are incredible! Look, it’s another seersucker print! It’s so feminine and would be perfect for lounging on the beach with a book or sitting pretty poolside!

Tell me, which is your favorite swimsuit!? I’d have to say mines the green striped J.Crew suit! Let me know in the comments!

Capsules wardrobes are all over the internet. While I do love the idea, a capsule wardrobe is not for me. It doesn’t suit my lifestyle and I find it way to restricting. When the warm late spring and early summer days hit, there’s only so many ways to style a sundress or denim shorts. Fashion to be is supposed to be fun and using the same 30 items each month gets boring to me!

I strategically am always thinking about fun ways to build my blog and grow traffic. While I could just do the trendy thing and create posts all about capsule wardrobes, at the end of the day it just isn’t me. And if there’s one thing I learned, it’s that you need to stay true to yourself and do what feels best for you. With all my thinking on capsule wardrobes, I realized I had sort of already created a foundation for my wardrobe which I like to call a classic wardrobe.

My classic wardrobe is about 20-30 pieces depending on each season that I always have on hand. It’s way less restrictive and is more of a foundation to build upon once you have the classic pieces. Besides, I want fashion to always be fun and not limiting!

Today I will be sharing 5 pieces that are in my Spring classic wardrobe and at the bottom, you will have an option to get the whole list! This is not restrictive at all. But it will help you start with the classics and then feel confident to eventually take risks to add fun, bright and seasonal pieces. And trust me, this list of mine is always changing each season!

First up in a striped shirt! I own way to many and somehow always want a new one each season! If you stick with a classic color like navy or blue, you can easily style them with denim shorts, a white button-up skirt or navy bottoms. I love how they also make you appear instantly put together. For my next striped purchase, I want to add is this Saint James long sleeved top to my collection. I’ve had my eye on for quite a while! It would be so perfect for cool night walks on the beach or late night boat rides!

Loafers are the next item on my list and can absolutely be worn year round. I try to not go too crazy for colored shoes when I create my classic wardrobe and lean towards white, navy, rattan and pastel pinks. The more I can match with my shoes, the better!

In my mind, red, white and navy is always going to be a flattering color combo. It’s coastal, American and classic! I loved being able to use the solid color navy wrap skirt as a base and add onto it. J.Crew Factory has the cutest wrap skirts for Spring!

Next up is accessories. I mention it all the time and know I blog about mostly warm-weather fashion but accessories will make or break your outfits in the warm summer and spring months. Statement earrings will always be my “go-to”. Now, I do love color but I always make sure I have a great white pair of earrings on hand at all times because I know they will match with everything I own.

Last but not least are straw bags. This ones under $100 and super simialr looking to the straw bag I wore here. Now that the weather has warmed up and summer temps are in full swing here in Florida, you will always catch me wearing all my straw bags. They are great because the rattan is so unique but it’s also a neutral color which means you can basically never have to worry about matching your purse to your outfit. They make fashion easy!

How’s your week going? School is out on Friday for Easter, so that means no work for me! I am excited to have a 4 day work week! Pretty sure the kids are more excited than us.

It’s warmed up super fast here in Florida also! Just a few weeks ago we were having beautiful 70 degree days. You can bet I was living outside and wearing all my fun Spring clothes! This weekend it felt like it hit 90 and just like that the ocean and my pool is warm enough to swim in. So excited because my favorite thing in the world is swimming! This is also the time where I start to get excited for summer dressing but also remember how truly scorchin hot it gets. Not ready for that just yet.

On the nights I workout, I love to run across to the beach and take a nighttime dip! It’s one of my absolute favorite things to do and the sky lights up with the prettiest colors as the sun sets! I’m so looking forward to more night swims, grilling out and chill summer nights spent on my back porch!

I celebrated my Birthday last week and spent the day with my mom at the spa. It was all I asked for and was soooo relaxing. My toes are now the cutest girly pink color! Then on the weekend, I celebrated with my best friends (Isaac and Alyssa) at a fun rooftop dinner. As I get older, I love the simple and easy things over doing anything big. As a kid I would have done anything to have giant birthday parties to make myself look popular, now I couldn’t be happier celebrating all the special moments with just my close friends and family.

What is your favorite item from my Spring classic wardrobe list? What are you most looking forward to for Spring and Summer?! Let me know in the comments!

Color is a huge part of my wardrobe! You know I love color and wear it often. I’m not even sure what a life without color would be like!? Probably boring and bland! Lots of the items in my wardrobe are colorful and bold but I do wear tons of white, blue and denim (which are neturals to me). To dress up my outfits, especially in the Spring and Summer, I use accessories to really make them pop! Adding a colorful accessory to any look will instandly transform it from drab to fab in 2 seconds!

BAGS

My absolute favorite bags to wear besides straw bags are fun ones with pops of color! They transform your entire outfit! When I was in Hawaii last summer, I made sure to visit the infamous Dole Plantation and while I was there I bought my beloved pineapple bag. Anytime I post this bag, it’s always a hit with you all! Who doesn’t love a giant pineapple purse?! The more I searched, I realized I just love citrus bags in general. Maybe it’s the Florida girl in me but how can you not adore this kiwi bag and this grapefruit bag!?

STATEMENT EARRINGS

Probably my most worn accessory besides neck scarves! I am a girl who has super sensitive ears. I’ve sadly never been able to wear fake earrings. What I have found though is that if I buy quality statement earrings, I can get away with wearing them for a few hours without my ears falling off from pain. Whatever metal Target uses in their Sugarfix X Baublebar earrings is tolerable for my ears. This adorable palm leaf set caught my eye when I was browsing the jewelry section on a Target run a few weeks back. They’d be so cute to dress up a sundress and sandals outfit!

FUN SUNGLASSES

When it comes to investing in a cute dress or top, I am all in. Sunglasses on the other hand, I love super affordable pairs. Wearing them at the beach with the salty air, driving in the car and constantly throwing them in my purses, I don’t care too much about keeping them in tip top shape. Once their scratched up, I don’t feel bad about buying a new cheap pair. Maybe one day when I can afford it, I’ll splurge on a pair of Ray Bans but until then it’s cute and colorful pairs that fit my budget.

ESPADRILLES

My absolute favorite shoes for Spring and Summer are espadrilles! They have a rope like bottom and I find them extremely comfortable to wear all day long. Today I ran to Old Navy super quick to try and find a fun dress for my Birthday next week and I saw these adorable chambray espadrille wedges that were under $40! They literally match with everything, especially dresses and skirts!

BLOCK HEELS

Ahh, I am so so glad that block heels are in and super high heels are out. When I first started fashion blogging, I thought I had to wear heels like all the other popular fashion bloggers. Except there was a big problem. I lived in Florida and had super casual style. Heels were just not something I loved wearing besides dressing up for church on Sunday mornings or special occasions. I was trying to be someone I was not. Thank goodness I didn’t fall into that trap. Now I can get behind a smaller block heel. Not only do I not feel like I tower over anyone, their super comfy and cute. I love these slingback yellow block heels (comes in red too!) that are only $35.

NECK SCARVES

Out of all the accessories for Spring I mentioned, neck scarves will be the cheapest option. I have never bought a neck scarf for more than $10. It’s super easy to pick one to two colors you love, like yellow and blue to style with multiple outfits.

HAIR ACCESSORIES

I am a hugeeee fan of no-crease hair ties. They are the only hair accessory I wear daily. Sometimes I accidentally wear them in my outfit photos because it’s a permanent fixture on my wrist. My second favorite accessory that’s a bit on a cuter side are the hairties with attached scarves or cute bows!

Tell me, what’s your favorite Spring accessory from the list above? I’d have to say mine’s the pineapple bag I bough in Hawaii as a memento!

You know what time it is!? Straw bag time!!! I seriously love my straw bags. Technically I could wear mine year round because I live in a tropical paradise. But instead, I try to play a game with myself to see how long I can go without wearing my straw bags. I purposely swap out my straw bags for leather bags from Nov to mid Feb to feel more “wintery”. Is that even a word?! Some years it last longer than others. Then when Spring and Summer comes, I get so excited to wear my “new” old straw bags again! The anticipation truly gives me something to look forward to!

This outfit with a bodysuit is one of my faves from last summer!

Today at church I actually wore one of my favorite straw bags that has been featured on here many many times. It looks way more like a basket than a purse and all my friends kept asking me if I had snacks in there HA! I told them we need to have a picnic lunch next week. They agreed.

Last year when I taught, one of my students saw me outside of school (remember when that used to be soooo weird to see your teacher at the mall or grocery store and to think your teacher had a life outside of school…or at least I did!?). She saw I was wearing the exact basket bag I wore here and told all her friends she saw me carrying some “basket”. They were not amused.

To them I was so strange. In this little fashion blogging world with you guys, I’m safe. Or at least I hope so! You get me and you get straw bags!! Now, when you style them, I say go casual with preppy and coastal outfits, especially stripes. There can never be to many stripes! I mostly wear mine with dresses, shorts and skirts.
