Fish Dubai has announced the installation of a new glass cover, meaning guests will have the option to dine inside the stunning restaurant, or dine al-fresco on the idyllic terrace from this weekend onwards. Surrounded by strings of twinkling lights, cobbled pathways, Instagrammable tee-pees, Santorini-white picnic tables and unrestricted views of the Arabian Gulf, it’s no wonder Fish Dubai remains one of the region’s most sought-after dining destinations year after year. Since a memorable opening in 2016, the stunning Aegean-inspired restaurant set on the water’s edge of Le Meridien Mina Seyahi has welcomed hundreds of nationalities through its blue shutter doors and witnessed its fair share of romantic beachfront proposals. Originally an open-air dining concept, Fish Dubai was previously only operational across the cooler months, however, the team behind the award-winning venue are excited to announce the restaurant able to welcome guests all year round with the new installation. The installation of removable glass windows means Fish Dubai can cater to all seasons, with space for up to 100 guests. Without impacting the venue’s stunning Santorini vibes, this addition promises to keep out the summer heat, yet still offer up the stunning views that it is famous for. Styled like […]

Mtskheta & Jvari Mtsketa, located twenty minutes’ drive from Tbilisi is one of my favorite places to visit when I want to escape the hustle of the city for a day, it has a lovely laid back village feel, especially compared to hectic pace of Tbilisi. Mtskheta was the ancient capital of the Eastern Georgian Kingdom from the 3rd century BC. It was also where Christianity was proclaimed as the countries official religion and continues to function as the headquarters of the Georgian Orthodox Church. What to see Jvari Monastery, a breathtaking panoramic site near the town of Mtskheta, it was built in the 6th century on a site of a large wooden cross erected by the Saint Nino who established Christianity in Georgia. Svetitskhoveli Cathedral – a grand building dates from the 11th century, early in the golden age of Georgian church architecture. Christ’s robe is believed to lie beneath the central nave, under a square pillar decorated with colorful if faded frescoes of the conversion of Kartli. The story goes that a Mtskheta Jew, Elioz, was in Jerusalem at the time of Jesus’ Crucifixion and returned with the robe to Mtskheta. His sister Sidonia took it from him […]

Ethical clothing has become more and more popular in recent years. As more of us become aware of the wider world around us and our impact on the environment, clothing is one area where we can all make a change by making a more conscious decision. Here are four reasons you should care about ethical clothing: 1. An original look Ethical clothing brands are still quite small, so their clothing ranges are not mass produced. In fact, the pieces you buy from an ethical brand could even be unique, one-off prints or designs. Either way, when you opt for ethical clothing there is a considerably smaller chance of you arriving at an event and finding someone else wearing the same outfit as you – or perhaps worse, pointing to your top and saying “oh, I saw that in the window of such-and-such shop the other day!” For those of us who want to stand out from the crowd, ethical clothing is a great way to do this. 2. Reduce your carbon footprint We don’t hear as much about carbon footprints these days as we did a few years ago, but this sort of thing is still relevant and important. When […]
Tbilisi is a modern capital with ancient past, founded in the 5th century AD, according to the legend king Vakhtang I Gorgasali, once hunting in the forests saw a pheasant he shot and killed the bird. The king sent his falcon to find the prey. The falcon flew away, and after a while, the king lost sight of him. In search of the birds, Vakhtang Gorgasali with his hunters came upon a spring and saw that both the falcon and the pheasant got into its waters. The spring turned out to be hot, amazed with this find Vakhtang I decided to found the city in its place – Tbilisi (meaning “warm”) What to see If you are visiting Tbilisi for the first time start your journey in the Old Town, with its winding lanes, balconied houses, leafy squares and handsome churches, all overlooked by magnificent 17th century Narikala Fortress. Here I put together a list of my favorite places to see in Old Town. Sulfur Baths and Leghvtakhevi Waterfall The district is the most historic and recognizable part of the city, famous for the domed brick roofs of its subterranean bathhouses. Persian-style baths were erected all over the area to […]
