Fireworks are beautiful to watch and as a photographer, you would probably want to capture the magical show with your camera. However, it is important to be well prepared. In fact, it is not that difficult to photograph fireworks however there are a few elements you need to make sure to master. In this article I will tell you what camera equipment is needed and also share the camera settings. Everything for you to be fully prepared to photograph fireworks! WHAT YOU NEED: a camera (DSLR, mirrorless or any compact camera) a sturdy tripod a remote shutter release LOCATION You will need to do some research in advance to find the best location and a spot where to set up your tripod. Planning is a big part of photography. For example, in Paris, I know by experience that places such as Champs de Mars get overly crowded for the Bastille Day, so it’s a location I don’t even consider to photograph from. The less people you have around you, the better you will be able to work in tranquillity. Make sure to go to your spot early! You might not be the only one who considers the spot ;-) The […]
When being out in the field on a photographic session you need to have quick access to your camera lens filters. After two photo trips I learned, having a filter in their original case was not optimal. Later I was introduced to a filter bag from the Portugese brand, Terrascape, and I completely fell in love with it after the first use on the field. With other words, I’ve enough of experience to write my conclusion. The bag I’ve been using is no longer for sale on Terrascape’s website. However there is an upgraded and improved version of it called Filter Bag Classic which I had sent to me not long ago. I will therefore focus on the benefits of the later bag in this review. Filter bag The filter bag I have reviewed in this article is called Classic. Terrascape work closely with photographers and make sure to take their feedback into […]

Until now I have used the screen of my iMac and MacBook Pro when I have post-processed my photos. However, I always noticed that the colors I saw on other screens such as my iPhone and iPad but also prints did not reflect the deep range of colors I saw on my screen where I post-processed the images. Eager to strive for perfection, not only on the field but also when it comes to post-production and final result of the photo, I made some research to understand what makes a monitor suitable for photography. Monitor for photography What key qualities should be taken into consideration when looking for a monitor to use for photography? In order to narrow down alternatives for a monitor that is best adapted for photography below features are essential: Screen size The bigger is not always the best option, but a too small screen is neither an alternative. The optimal screen size should be where you have a good overview of the image, without having to turn your head in order to see the entire photo. That would be […]
