This is going to be a little different among all those scrubs you have seen in the internet on how to make Oatmeal scrub for sensitive skin.

Though my skin is Oily most of the times, it becomes extra sensitive sometimes. Especially in winters. I keep my winter skin care very simple. I prefer using natural plant oils and Aloe Vera gel as my night moisturizers instead of Cold creams or so called “winter moisturizers”.

Once in a while, I use natural home made scrubs to gently scrub away the dead skin and get soft, supple and clear skin. As my skin is extra sensitive in winters, I prefer to use those scrubs that are gentle enough to exfoliate my skin rather than abrading my skin more and making it prone to irritation and rashes.

I have searched for many scrubs that is really meant to be for sensitive skin. All I could find was using sugar, salt or coffes in scrubs, for sensitive skin? Really?

Instead, I made one with very gentle and mildly exfoliating ingredients that neither drys out nor strips away the natural oils from the skin.

This scrub that I am gonna show your now has very mild exfoliating properties, which removes dead skin cells to give softer and clear skin naturally at the comfort of home. Perfect for sensitive skin

How to make Oatmeal scrub

All you need..

Finely milled Oatmeal powder
Coarsely grinded Organic Green Tea leaves
Raw Honey
Unrefined Almond Oil

Method:

Add one tablespoon of Oatmeal powder and one tablespoon of Coarsely grinded Organic Green Tea leaves into a bowl. Mix these dry ingredients well.

Add one teaspoon of Honey and one one tablespoon of Unrefined Almond oil into it and mix them well to form a scrub.

Add 10 drops of either lavender essential oil or Geranium essential oil for added fragrance and skin benefits. This step is completely optional, as I already have it in my home i am going to add it in my scrub here.

I am not adding any type of hard grainy textured ingredients like sugar, salt or coffee in this scrub. As your skin is already sensitive, you should avoid using any type of harsh abrasion scrubs from your skin care routine.

Using natural powder-y textured ingredients to scrub your face will gently remove the dead skin from your face without any causing harm.

As this a No water scrub, you can also store this scrub for 2-3 days in the fridge for later use. But never more than that. In case if you feel or smell weird, make a fresh one and use.

A quick Sneak peek on how this Oatmeal scrub works for sensitive scrub

Oatmeal for skin:

As I have already mentioned in my “how to wash your face with Oats” Post that Oats contains natural saponin content that cleanses the skin to remove the dead skin from the skin’s surface and makes it very soft to touch.

If you have ever used Oats, you would notice that Oats is one such ingredient that doesn’t make your face dry/oily. It is a prefect cleanser for all the skin types.

Honey for skin:

The Anti-bacterial properties of Raw honey, fights with problem causing bacteria and thus keeps acne and pimples at bay. When exfoliating your skin, it causes a slight abrasion which can create a perfect environment for bacterial attack. Due to the anti bacterial properties of honey, your skin feels safe and protected.

It also has skin lightening properties that fades away dark spots and gives your clear skin.

Turmeric for skin:

Turmeric is a wonder spice. It is still being used in many household in India as an instant anti septic treatment for any cuts or burns.

It heals the skin and protects it from any attack of harmful bacteria. Turmeric is also an skin lightening agent used in many face mask. When used in scrubs, it removes tan and lightens the skin naturally.

Green Tea for skin:

As I am not using type of harsh scrubbing ingredients like sugar, salt and coffee.. There needs be some of exfoliating ingredient for this scrub to work for me. Right?

So I choose one of the best herb for skin, i.e, Green tea leaves. Tea leaves are gentle to be used on skin. It is not harsh as those sugar or salt scrubs, but still does a good job in mildly exfoliating the skin, which is perfect for sensitive skin.

Green tea rejuvenates the skin and makes it instantly bright and fresh. It also reduces under eye puffiness and dark circles.

Ubtans are the age old secrets of beautiful Indian skin. In the good Old days, Besan is used as a body utbtan by many. As body Ubtans have many benefits like lightening the skin tone, removing tan and fading away the dark spots, it’s been used  y our moms and grand moms as their simple secret to natural beauty.

As soaps and body washes strips away the natural oil on our body, the skin becomes too dry and thus ages quickly. Opting for natural ways to wash your face and body will enhance the beauty and rejuvenates your skin.

So today, I am here with a review of Patanjali Body Ubtan. Read on to know more and do let me know your views in the comments below on this Patanjali Body Ubtan Review of mine.

Patanjali Body Ubtan Review
Let’s start with the packaging…

This Patanjali body Ubtan comes in a sealed plastic cover kinda packaging. Once you open the packet, the product need to be transfer into an air tight jar.

The packaging could have been a little better with at least a zip lock to the packet. So that it can be used without any hassle and can be disposed off easily without the pain of transferring it into a container again.

Not a travel friendly one of course, unless you want to transfer it into a jar and use carry it.

Ingredients??

The ingredients list is plain and simple to understand. Unlike the Patanjali Divya Kanti Lep ingredients which were only listed in its scientific name, the ingredients of Patanjali Body Ubtan also have their common name listed on the packet.

So here they are, I guess we Indians are very much familiar with all of these ingredients…

Chironji
Masur dal
Urad dal
Jau
Peeli Sarson
Soyabean
Chaval
Badam
Haldi
Kapoor

That’s a quite interesting list of ingredients in this Patanjali Body Ubtan. Impressive

What’s the product says??

An Ayurvedic Proprietary Medicine.

Direction of Use:

Add sufficient quantity of water to 20-30g of body Ubtan to make a consistent paste. Apply on body and massage gently. Rinse off  with water.

That’s quite boring way to use this Ubtan. Anyways, I am gonna show you How to Use Patanjali body Ubtan in a different post in a more detailed way. Subscribe the blog for early updates.

Quantity & Price??

As Patanjali is known for its budget friendly quality products, so does this Body Ubtan too.

With Almost 10 ingredients, this Patanjali body Ubtan comes for 60 bucks for 100 grams of the product.

It has a shelf life of 12 months.

Patanjali Body Ubtan Review

Using Ubtans for our body is not new for us. Isn’t it? Before even using this Patanjali Body Ubtan, I have used just Besan as a body cleanser. Besan has an excellent skin lightening properties that exfoliates the dead skin and removes tan effectively. Besan will also remove and reduce the growth of body hair.

So body Ubtans are not new to me. When I first picked up this Patanjali Body Ubtan in a store, I was excited to try this by reading the ingredients list.

Out of curiosity, I bought two packs. and here is the second packet I am using while reviewing it for you.

The consistency of this Patanjali body Ubtan is not so powdery. It has grainy texture which may be little harsh on sensitive skin. I mixed a tablespoon of Ubtan with few drops of rose water and washed my body.

When I used this for the first time on my body,  the grainy texture was a little harsh to wash with. After washing it my skin felt smooth and soft.

The ubtan has a strong kapoor smell in it. The smell may linger on your body for a couple even after coming out of the shower. It is defiantly better than some chemical loaded body washes is what I felt.

Although this is not meant to be used for face, I feel there is no harm in using this mask for face too. But if the grainy texture is too harsh for you, blend the powder in a blender for 3-5 minutes to get a fine powder and then use it.

Overall it a perfect body ubtan with some of the best natural grians and nut powders. It does what it claims. There is defiantly an improvement in my body’s skin tone. It also removed the tan on my feet effectively with regular use.

I use it not more than 2 times per week or even only once per week sometimes.

Pros:

1. Softens skin and makes it smooth touch

2. Lightens skin and removes tan on the body

3. Goodness of all natural ingredeints, no harmful SLS/SLES

4. Exfoliates kin and removes dead skin

5. Fades dark spots and lightens scars with regular use

Cons:

1. Messy Bathrooms.

2. No fine texture. Harsh grains. Not suitable for sensitive skin

3. Not a travel friendly packaging

One Last Line…

A must have skin care product that is budget friendly and skin friendly too. Grab your Patanjali Body Ubtan today and try it out. Tell us your views on how well it worked for you.

Cellulite and stretch marks are a problem to every women nowadays. Approximately 75-80% of women develop these either at the time of pregnancy or in the puberty during rapid weight gain or loss. So let’s see some quick facts about how and why these stretchmarks and cellulite develop.

How and why Cellulite/Stretch Marks develop?

Women develop stretch marks mainly during puberty and later during pregnancy. Apart from these, it should also be noted that stretch marks have a higher chance of occurrence in people who are experiencing rapid weight gain or loss.

The main reason of developing such marks is when the skin gets stretched rapidly and continuously leading the collagen to damage. The skin tissues become weak and loosens up its elasticity which appears as stripes at that particular part of the body.

Similarly, cellulite is mainly caused due to the fat deposits which in turn push through the connective tissue under the layers of the skin. It is mainly observed in buttocks and thigh areas.

TIP: “Dry brushing can help you avoid stretchmarks and cellulite. Make a habit to dry brush your body with a non-synthetic bristle brush”

The main ingredient we will be using here is coffee. So before we go into the process let me tell you some of the coffee benefits when used on skin. So that you’ll know why this acts as a main ingredient in removing cellulite and stretchmarks.
