We live in a world full of choices, sometimes too many out of which the personal care choices are no exception. You are here probably because you have tried natural or organic skin care for quite sometime and saw no noticeable results in your skin and then gave up or you are still thriving hard to adapt to Natural Lifestyle but it is very hard to do so. What ever might me the reason, just let me tell you one thing, you are awesome.
You are awesome, because you opt to read the ingredients than price before buying a product, you care for your skin and environment too. Not many take these first steps. You took, and so you are one of a kind. I appreciate that.
The reason why any newbie might feel difficult in adapting to a natural skin care is that..one, you think that there are certain rules to follow and stick to and second, you don’t give enough time to compare your before and after effects.
I still at times feel the urge to switch back to conventional beauty products, but I don’t do it. As i am aware of the Toxic ingredients and its effects on skin and health, even the thought of using them just daunts me. But that doesn’t mean that I completely avoid using non-natural products in my life. For example,
My morning skin routine is very simple, I wash my face with either a handmade soap or Liquid castile soap and moisturize with Aloe Vera gel. I use natural dusting powders to matify my face on a normal day and I touch up my face with 9 to 5 compact while going for any formal meeting or parties.
Now You can ask me that is not a natural product. But, yeah…! I still use it based on the situation. Don’t get me wrong. I am not having any double standards nor being hypothetical. I limit the use of the Compact to just my formal meeting because I want to look a little more well groomed on some special days.
The point that I want to explain here is that, I don’t depend on non-natural products but only use them when I require. That way I am limiting my skin’s exposure to these products on a daily basis while I am still searching for better natural alternatives to these conventional products.
I understand what is necessary to me and what is not. I am still learning and finding the use of certain ingredients and their effect on skin and hair.
I feel, there are no certain rules to follow a lifestyle you like to lead. After all, the already existing rules are set by same humans like us. Are they not?
Don’t force yourself into something that you don’t like but seems good. Many of them start switching their skin and hair care routines to natural ones within days just because they are overwhelmed by the hype of natural beauty care products these days.
Do not assume that every natural product is perfect for you and try out everything that you find. Finding your ideal ski and hair care products takes time and analyzing skills. OK..! Nothing rocket science. Let me come in a Flow, that’ll be easy.
Switching Lifestyle is gradual process. You skin, body and mind takes time to understand and adapt to the changes. You have been feeding your skin with different types of chemicals all day since you were a child. All of a sudden, you are feeding it with something different, something that is unusual and not very catalyst-ic as those of man-made derivatives.
Give time, to yourself and to your skin. First Start the change with those products that you use very less in your day to day life. In my case, it was scrubbing. I scrub my face once every week. So I replaced My Body Soap Sea Weed Scrub with Oats and Almonds. After few months, I made my own natural face cleanser by which I wash my face and scrub once a while.
This gradual and transition from by replacing one product at a time with more natural and organic ones, helped me to adapt to natural beauty care routines in a easier way.
I am still in search of more and more natural beauty brands that are true to its words and provide safer cosmetics to us. I will keep on Updating my blog with more such new Indian brands as I go forward in my journey.
If you would like to follow me in this beautiful journey, you are most likely welcomed to join the community. Please drop in your mail for more such interesting updated from my side..
How are you starting to transition to natural beauty care routines?
I am so happy that I have already completed 4 ways of cleansing your face without soap or face washes. As I have already mentioned in my 7 alternatives to wash your face without soap, I will be showing you How to use Honey as a cleanser and What has happened to my skin after I washed my face with Raw Honey for a Month.
So far it was very fun to wash my face with different types of single ingredients that are natural, organic and cause zero waste. As a part of the no-soap cleansing series that I have started long back, this is my 5th one in the series. If you are interested to know about what the whole series about and why I started it, you can read the below Posts.
For centuries people have been using Honey as a medical treatment to treat many skin problems, dandruff, burns and fungal infections. Honey contains proteins, amino acids, minerals and enzymes that can kill the bacteria which contributes to the inflated pores. Some of the benefits which honey gives to the skin are,
Honey creates an acidic environment where in which the bacteria cannot grow and thus less breakouts.
Honey contains many anti bacterial and anti microbial properties from a compound called Propolis that bees use to seal their hive.
A high concentration of sugar, which puts pressure on bacterial cells, making them less likely to multiply.
While using Honey it is very important to consider using only raw organic honey to avoid any synthetic colors or preservatives that may contain.
How I washed my face with Honey…
Before I start, I would like you to know that I do not use any makeup other than some natural dusting powder that contain arrow root flours or clays if my face looks oily any day. Other than that, I occasionally wear this natural Khol by plum. I use it both as a Liner and Khol. In those days, I use a little bit of either Almond oil or Grape seed oil to remove it before washing my face with these natural alternatives.
Coming to how I washed my face with Honey,
I Take a tablespoon of Organic Raw honey in a small cup and dilute it enough with either Rose water or normal water. I wash my face with warm water to open up my skin pores and then Apply the mixture to my face and massage for 3 minutes. After that I wash it off with normal water.
I then apply 99% Pure Aloe Vera gel to moisturize my skin.
These were the two simple steps that I followed for 30 days and the results were so amazing.
What happened to my skin..
Washing my face with just honey was one of the best decision that I have took to my skin. Each time I wash, My face felt so smooth like silk. In fact there was no need of any other moisturizer after you wash your face with Honey. My skin was naturally glowy and shiny. Pores were less visible and the dark spots caused my the occasion period acne were faded and the acne was completely at bay.
Thank god to the incredible antibacterial properties of raw honey that kills the harmful bacteria on your skin and combats acne naturally. I usually get pimples near the chin and jaw line area occasionally when I am stressed out or before that time of the month. I did not breakout for even one single day during this whole month. I was so happy that I tried this experiment of washing my face with honey for a month. Trust me, you will never go back to any other method of cleansing once you start reaping the benefits of washing your face with honey.
I still continue washing my face with honey especially when my skin is super dry. I also use honey and a drop of Tea Tree essential oil as a spot treatment to my dark spots and acne at night. Honey helped to clear my skin much faster than any other ingredient that I washed my face with.
Top Highlights of washing my face with honey would sum up to.
> No Acne > Faded dark spots > Glowy face > No open pores
Before Honey, Oats was my favorite cleanser and you would know why if you have already read the above First in the series- How to wash with oats and Why.
Did you try washing your face without Conventional Soap ad Face washes Yet?
Recently I dealt a lot with adult acne. It has been 6 years where I enjoyed my no acne (OK..! occasionally period acne) clear skin days since my teenage acne. When I recently noticed that my face is being filled with not just one or two occasional period pimples but a lot more during the whole month. The first month I convinced that it was just because of some work related stress and it’s gonna be alright after few days. It was even more horrible in the later 2 months. That’s when I realized that this is not any ordinary period acne any more.
I have been hit hard by adult acne even before I realized it. I know you might be asking me, is that even a thing? Acne isn’t just for hormonal teens: Adult acne is real. Trust me. The acne which you experience in your mid 20s and 30s is what you call “Adult Acne“. It can also hit people who haven’t even experienced teenage hormonal acne too.
Our hormones are just crazy. Admit it. They have worst mood swings than we have. They behave really weird sometimes and our body don’t understand what’s happening. That’s when inflammation triggers and many suffer more than just acne.
Causes of Adult Acne
The main causes of acne is skin oil, acne-causing bacteria on the skin, sticky skin cells blocking your pores, and inflammation. Hormonal fluctuations, stress, and diet all likely play a roll as well. When you’re a teenager your hormones are naturally fluctuating and you can’t control it, But when you’re an adult your hormones are fluctuating because of things like inflammation and stress.
How I Cured my Adult acne naturally
I go to work at different places sometimes. Meeting people with acne over my face in my mid 20s was very embarrassing. I needed a desperate quick fix to clear my face as soon as possible. I even asked couple of my friends for their suggestions as they have already taken some prescriptions from a dermatologist to cure their’s.
I know those are some crappy drugs that forcefully control your hormones and take a troll on your health in the long run.
I researched a lot about adult acne and how to deal with it. There were these two main reasons which I found almost everywhere. Inflammation and stress are the two main causes of adult acne.
I agree that I was dealt with a lot of stress in my life in those days. There was Constant overwhelm and anxiety issues I faced even in completing smallest of tasks you can think of.
That’s when I realized that, its not just my skin that needs to be cleared but by entire system internally and mentally. It was really a tough decision for me to make a choice to cure my adult acne in a natural way.
How I started…
The first thing that I wanted to control was my stress levels and feeling of overwhelm before starting and completing any task. I know it is easier said than done. I took a pen and paper and wrote all the things that stresses me out. Some are avoidable and some aren’t. In cases where I felt I am stressing a lot, I would take either a quick nap at my work place or just go for a walk outdoors to talk to my mom or my closet friends. The first and foremost thing to do to control stress is to give your mind a little peace of time to think and act positively. In my case, I observed that my mind and body felt completely relaxed and fresh after I take a quick nap of 20-30 minutes.
I am still figuring out different ways that I can de-stress my self in my free time, or may be to create free time for me in the first place. I planing to write all those things in a different blog post in the “wellness” category of this blog. If you are interested, Do subscribe to get notified when ever I post that.
Second, You are what you eat. This is always been true to me in the days while I was trying to heal my adult acne. There should definitely be some inflammation triggering foods that I am consuming which are causing hormonal imbalances in my body, I thought.
I did a quick research and figured out what are inflammatory foods and what are anti inflammatory foods. I heard that people stopped taking dairy products and meat to control their acne. It is because the hormones in the dairy products imbalances the hormones in your body if you consume them. While this may or may not work for some, I still wanted to try and figure out if it was milk which might be causing any inflammation in my body.
I completely avoided milk, and all dairy based products for a month. I have also cut out gluten foods from my diet. And after a month, Cutting out dairy foods did not help to get rid of my acne. It was very disappointing. I could not cut each food in my diet every month and wait for a year to treat my acne any more.
Instead, I tried including more and more anti inflammatory foods in my daily diet and saw a gradual change in my skin. There were fewer breakouts each month and after 6 months my skin is now back to normal. I occasionally get 1 or 2 pimples in that time of the month and thats it.
If you think this is my happy ending and end of story. No it isn’t.
Even though I managed to deal with my adult acne, the after effects were more challenging to deal with. The ugly blemishes and dark spots left behind by the hard core pimples were even more harder to get rid of.
Though i did not have the urge to touch and pick my pimple, they were relatively big and left more blemish kinda spots on my face after drying out.
Skin care Routine I followed…
Controlling Stress and changing my diet has helped a lot to clear my acne. While these two things helped to clear the acne from the inside, the skin care that I followed during these days healed my skin from the outside.
My skin care was very simple. If you are expecting me to list out some expensive creams, face washes and stuff, sorry that I am disappointing you now. I use not more than three products. One is Apple cider vinegar, next is self made DIY Facial Cleanser and the last home made Shea butter cream.
In the first month, I washed my face with just water. Yes..! Only water.
I use Apple cider vinegar toner after I wash my face. It removes all the left over dirt from my face.
If my skin feels oily, I just dust my face with Arrowroot flour.
And twice every month I exfoliate my skin with my Facial Cleanser to remove any dead skin.
I moisturize my skin with home made Shea butter cream that I myself made with Shea butter, Tamanu oil and few of Acne clearing essential oils. Shea butter is a non Comedogenic oil and wont clog your pores. Tamanu oil treats acne and blemishes naturally. Only a tiny bit of this cream is enough to cover my entire face and next. After 3 months of this routine my skin is now normal and I use Neem, Tulasi and Licorice face mask once every week to lighten the dark spots on my face.
That is all. This was my skin care when I was treating my adult acne naturally.
We think we need so many products to maintain keep our skin fresh and clean. Many beauty “gurus” or bloggers about skin care, say that you need to moisturize your skin- the most important part of the skin care routine. True, by not with those creams and gels that you slather on your face daily which contains lots of alcohols, Phthalates, SLS/SLES, synthetic colors, preservatives, emulsifiers and fragrances.
These may seem are doing good but are actually hazardous to your skin and to your entire health as some of them also contain carcinogenic (Cancer causing) ingredients.
Your skin produces natural oil that is highly necessary and beneficial to your skin. It produces oil for a reason. More and more you wash your face with soaps or cleansers, it produces more and more oil to balance. That in turn clogs your pores with harmful bacteria, and causes acne. This is why you acne routine never gonna yield fruitful results.
Everyone’s skin is different and what they eat and how their body functions differently. So, don’t compare your skin with anyone else’s.
This is my way of clearing acne. I am not suggesting or recommending you to do the same, unless you are interested.

Aloe Vera has been used for thousands of years for beauty and medicinal benefits across cultures. Ayurveda reserves it, so do many other traditional healing therapies. Not every one are so lucky to find an Aloe Plant near by or at least have one in their home. In that case, you can still get your favorite ingredient packet in a jar to use daily for your skin and hair. Here is a List of Best Aloe Vera Gels for skin & Hair in India and how to choose one.
How to choose a Perfect, Pure Aloe Vera Gel for your skin and Hair?
The most important thing that you should look for while buying Aloe Vera gel is “the ingredient list”. Be aware of those brands which market their Aloe Vera gel as 100% pure, which is not possible in any case except the shelf life is one day of the manufactured date.
Natural Aloe Vera gel cannot be stored without adding any preservatives and as the gel is more water-y and jelly, a thicker is added to amalgamate the gel in one pace which makes it easier for usage and storage purposes.
So the two main ingredients that are essential to prepare Aloe Vera gel are thicker and preservative.
A thicker that is safe and doesn’t effect your skin and also doesn’t alter the efficiency of the aloe vera is what you need to choose. There are two such safe and natural thicker which are used to make Aloe Vera gels. They are
Xanthan gum : Xanthan gum is a naturally derived thickening agent that can work at a concentration of less than 1%. Thus, these aloe vera gel would mention “99%” aloe vera on their pack and should have this as one of their ingredient if not the second.
Seaweed : Seaweed not only thickens aloe vera juice but also has anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory benefits. Till now I did not find any Aloe vera gel that has seaweed as a natural thickening agent in it except Seven mineral (Non-Indian brand) Aloe vera gel and is only available on amazon currently.
Aloe Vera will go stale without preservatives. Look for safer preservatives like TLC, ascorbic acid, potassium sorbate, malic acid etc.
The Leaf of the Aloe Vera is green but not the gel. All the green color gels that you see in the market contain artificial and synthetic colors. Pure Aloe Vera gels does not have any color. It is crystal clear gel. Do not buy any Aloe Vera gel that contains artificial colors. Opt for no-color Aloe vera gel.
Avoid aloe vera gel that smells really floral. That means it has added synthetic fragrances, which alone contains more than 100 chemicals in it. However, your gel should not smell stale, despite the absence of fragrances.
So, Now are you are aware which one to choose, here are your options to make your job more simple. Happy Reading

If you are already following my blog, you know how much I swear by Bragg Apple cider vinegar. I almost use it for everything from my face to lighten dark spots and sun spots and for Hair to clean the dirt and pollution buildup on scalp. Today I wanted to share all the different ways I use ACV for face and Hair. So, Are you with me? Then, Let’s get started
Different ways to use ACV for Face and HairBenefits of ACV for Skin
1. Apple cider vinegar balances your skin’s pH: As most of our facial cleansers have a pH which is above 7, they tend to dry our skin and strip natural acidic content on our face. This acid mantle on our skin is highly necessary to keep our skin free from entering any harmful bacteria that may cause acne, skin irritation , dryness and other skin issues.
Apple cider vinegar which has an almost same pH as our skin, it balances and retains moisture on skin’s tissue after using it. It also controls excess sebum production on oily skin.
2. Apple cider vinegar can help fade early age spots: Apple cider vinegar contains alpha hydroxy acids that will remove dead skin and reveal healthy and vibrant new skin. When you wash your face daily with apple cider vinegar you will notice a difference in age spots as they slowly fade away.
In addition to washing your face with apple cider vinegar, dab a little on a cotton ball and apply directly to age spots. Wait about thirty minutes and rinse your face with cool water and pat dry. Do this twice daily for six weeks and you will see a difference. You can do it as an overnight spot treatment too for better results.
3.. Apple cider vinegar fights acne, pimples and blemishes: One of the most popular use of Apple cider vinegar for skin is to fight acne and pimples. It cures and diminishes zits with one overnight treatment.
Why buy a commercial acne cream loaded with chemicals, when you can just use apple cider vinegar to treat your acne. When apple cider vinegar is made, malic acid forms. This makes apple cider vinegar a potent antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral substance capable of keeping bacteria at bay and pimples from forming.
4. Apple cider vinegar fights wrinkles: Diluted apple cider vinegar face wash can help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. You can soak a cotton pad or cotton cloth in diluted apple cider vinegar and dab on your skin. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Use it as a daily toner after washing your face with some natural cleansing grains like oats.
5. Apple cider vinegar removes toxins and dead skin from your face: Regular use of an apple cider vinegar wash will help draw toxins out of your skin leaving a youthful and clean glow. Apple cider vinegar helps to exfoliate your skin gently to remove the dead skin from the skin’s surface. This is one of the best gentle exfoliating method, if your are sensitive to harsh grain based scrubs.
How to Use ACV for Face1. As a Toner
One of the most popular use of Apple cider vinegar for skin is using it as a toner. This is my favorite method to use Apple cider vinegar for my skin. It helped me a lot to clear my acne in my initial stages.
Its been more than an year I am using this Apple cider vinegar toner in my daily skin care routine. And you wont believe me, how this has helped me to cure all my skin problems including acne and acne scaring.
Using a toner, a natural toner that can balance the skin’s acidic pH is a must to include in your skin care routine. Toners also remove the excess dirt and makeup that your facial cleansers or normal oil cleansing routine have failed to do so.
How to prepare Apple cider vinegar Toner for skin:
Mix up the ratios depending upon your skin type ( See below link fore more ). Apart from normal water you can also use rose water . That is completely optional. Store it in a clean plastic bottle or spray bottle. Just prepare enough for 1 week use.
The goodness in apple cider vinegar toner actually heals your skin from within. Raw apple cider vinegar is a by product of fermentation of apples. Apple is an amazing skin food. whether applying it externally on your face or taking it internally have profound benefits on your skin.
How to wash Apple cider vinegar for skin:
Make a mixture of equal parts of Apple cider vinegar and water and wash your face with it daily in the morning and in the evening after you return home.
You can use Apple cider vinegar in home made face packs and scrubs too. It is an excellent replacement of rose water. It is most effective when used in clay masks like Fullers Earth (Multani Mitti). It reduces the pore size and makes your skin look clean and beautiful.
How to use Apple cider Vinegar as a substitute of Rose water:

Not many know this. But yes, Apple cider vinegar helps to exfoliate your skin gently to remove the dead skin from the skin’s surface. This is one of the best gentle exfoliating method, if your are sensitive to harsh grain based scrubs.
How to use Apple cider Vinegar to exfoliate skin:
Take two cotton balls. Now take raw apple cider vinegar onto one cotton ball and plain normal water into other. Hold the apple cider vinegar cotton ball in one hand and the water cotton ball in your other hand.
Now using upward stokes, rub your skin with the apple cider vinegar ball first, followed by the water cotton ball. Repeat this all over your face. Wash off with Cold water.
Skip this method, if your skin is too sensitive.
5. Spot Treatment
Apple cider vinegar is a great acne remedy. It is been used by many including me, to treat acne and acne spots. It cures the skin from the damage done by acne. It is and excellent medicine to treat skin blemishes, acne and dark spots.
How to use Apple cider Vinegar as a spot treatment:
To use apple cider vinegar as a spot treatment, Take Raw apple cider vinegar in a small cap and dip one end of a Q-tip in it.
Now apply it on your acne or dark spots directly. Do this in the night before going to bed. Let the treatment be on your face for overnight. Wash your face the next morning.
Note: Do not use Raw apple cider vinegar directly on your face all the time. It is always best to use it in diluted form. Oily scalp is a common problem to many of us. It has been to me as well. I have been there, struggling with every hair style to cover up my scalp oiliness even thought that was a second day of my hair. Most of us just wash our hair to get rid of oiliness, but ever wondered why your scalp is always oily in the first place? What it the reason? Today, I will share the most common reason behind your scalp oiliness and how to deal with it.
This is gonna be a short and sweet just to the point article without much of a depth and details unlike my other articles on the blog. I Just had some random thought about Oily scalp and wanted to share it view you all.
After completing reading, if you like this style of article more.. do let me know, I will come with short and sweet articles more for you.
Right..! Now coming to the main topic, Oily scalp. Fore most common reason of Scalp oiliness is over washing your hair. Just note it down. All others are next.
Why your Scalp is always Oily
I guess 70% of the people who end up searching an answer for “How many times should you wash your hair in a week” are the ones who have oily scalp. You are the one who end up over washing your hair than required. Though you get a squeaky clean feeling each time you wash your hair with shampoos that contains sulphates and silicones, your scalp feels dehydrated and asks sebaceous glands for help. The sebaceous glands will produce more natural oils than required to protect the hair follicle from drying out and falling out.
So this decodes, the more you wash your hair the more oily it gets. This is the reason why your scalp becomes more Oily even though its second day of your hair.
If you are using a chemical based shampoo, change it immediately to a mild and organic shampoo. Change your washing cycles slowly to get adapted to the new routine slowly. For example, if you are washing your hair daily, then cut it to washing once every two days and finally once every three days. You can use natural dry shampoos in between if you feel the process is more difficult to do in the initial days.
Mild Shampoo Suggestion:
I use BON Organics Aloe Vera Shampoo to cleanse my scalp once every 3-4 days. You can use any other Mild shampoo of your choice. Just make sure it doesn’t have any harsh chemicals like sulphates, silicones, parabens, alcohols, artificial fragrances and colorants. These are of no use to your hair, but only cause more ham day by day.
Conventional shampoos will strip away the natural oils from your scalp and it more oily. This in turn causes dandruff and other scalp infections.
I know it is very hard to switch to a mild shampoo once and for all. Change takes time. So for your scalp too. As said, first start slowly by increasing the time of you hair wash cycles. If you are washing your hair daily, then cut it to washing once every two days and finally once every three days or four days.
In the meantime, your scalp will too understand what is happening and control the sebum production without going overwhelmed.
I use BON Organics Dry shampoo whenever I feel my scalp is a little oily. But honestly speaking, I dont even use any dry shampoo as often I used it in my initial scalp detox days. I thought I am born with an oily scalp and I can do nothing but over wash my hair. But I was proved wrong by my own natural hair care routine.
Make this small change to your hair care routine. Start today. Invest in a good Mild shampoo and a dry shampoo. Control the urge to over wash your hair more often. Just tell yourself that everything’s gonna be OK in a while.
Many Many Happy Hair days to you all. :*

If you are already a returning reader of my blog, you might be aware of Why I have started Coloring my hair since I was 15. And after trying many chemical based hair coloring treatments, I finally realized what my hair needs and it’s high time I treat it the way it deserves. This is why I opted to Color my hair Black Naturally using Henna and Indigo Leaf Powders. I agree that the method was indeed a 2-day tedious task to achieve the coverage I wanted. But was worth it. I color my hair very often, may be once in every 5-6 months. Reason? As said this method of coloring my hair takes 2 full days, sometimes I do not have time and sometimes I am very lazy. *And Yeah.. I don’t care people mocking me seeing at my grey hair*
One day, In search of some natural Ayurveda hair oils, I came across this brand “Krya”. And after seeing all their hair care range products, I was so eager to try their Midnight natural Hair color. Here goes my Krya Midnight Black Natural Hair Color review after using it for the first time.
Let’s See If this can reduce my 2-day process natural hair coloring method to a one day one.
Krya Midnight Black Natural Hair color REVIEW
Disclaimer: I did not use the Krya Vibrant Hair color oil and the Krya Creamy conditioning Hair mask as suggested by the brand on their website.
Recommended: A Patch test, if you have never tried Indigo Leaf powder.
Simple and Eco-friendly. Krya Midnight Black Natural hair color comes in a small brown color carton box. The powder is packed in a plastic packet (Oops.! I take back my word “Eco-friendly” :/)
I ordered a 200gms pack, so there were 2 packets of 100gms each. If your hair is thick/long and you want to color your entire hair at once, then one full packet can be used at a time, but if your hair is thin/short, One full packet of 100gms will be more. In that you may need to store the remaining powder in a container.
Storage Instructions as mentioned on the package: Use the Krya Natural Hair color immediately on opening.
Even though they claim it to be a no chemical natural hair coloring product, they used the word :”Key ingredients”, donno why.
After a year’s research , and over 50 different hair colour formulations, Krya brings to the Krya all-natural hair colour range of products. How to Apply Krya Midnight Natural Hair color
There is already a detailed one full page instruction on How to use their natural hair color range on their website and also a print out that you get in the packaging each time you order.
This is how I applied Krya Midnight Natural Hair color
I took a disposable plastic cup and mixed the powder from one full packet of 100gms with plain water, till it forms a runny paste.
As my grey hair percentage near my crown area is high, I asked my Mom to color my hair. She took a good one full hour to properly cover each strand of hair with this color.
*So, NO judging of not coloring my hair properly*
One whole packet was sufficient to cover my entire hair with this color.
I then tied my hair into a bun and covered it with a shower cap.
As my grey hair count is more in number, I waited for around hours before washing it off.
After 3 hours, I just washed my hair with Normal water (Neither Hot not Cold) till I saw clear water running through my hair.
I towel dried my hair for 5 minutes and then air dried. I did not use any heat styling tools to dry my hair.
Krya Midnight Black Natural Hair color REVIEW – Did it Work the first time?
As soon as I washed my hair, I could still see some of the grey hair are still grey. I don’t use any chemical based conventional Hair coloring methods. I only color my hair using this Natural Hair coloring method, once every 5 or 6 months. So, no blame on chemicals here.
Second, as they mentioned, The color will take 1-2 days after application to fully develop, as the herbs need to go though oxidation process after application.
Before Applying Hair Color
Here is the snap of my hair looked on the second day.
After using Krya Midnight Natural Hair Color once
The only difference I noticed was, There was a slight shade of change in color. May be 5% of black? But not black completely. Greys are still visible, not as shiny as there were before coloring, but are noticeable.
While shampooing, I observed that while I washing my hair.. the foam of the shampoo and the water were a little blackish. I am not sure if the color is draining out or not.
I am yet to wash it one more time and see what happens. And Of course, Update you on the same too.
1. Pure Herbs. No harmful chemicals. No scalp irritation
2. Safe to use during pregnancy and breast feeding too.
1. Key Ingredients. May be I should ask the brand about the full ingredient list.
2. Did not turn my grey hair into black on first application. I will re-apply after a week as said by the brand (” If you have high percentage of grey hair to begin with or if your hair has suffered damage due to chemical coloring, you may need 2-3 rounds of coloring to get grey coverage. In this case you can color your hair a second time, four days after the first coloring session”)
I know this is still not a complete Review from my side. But I want to share my first impression on this with you. I will re apply this after a couple of days and update you on the results.
