The 2018 Small Business Boot Camp for Women took place on Saturday, October 20th at the Radisson Hotel in New Rochelle, NY.  Female entrepreneurs traveled from all across the U.S. to hear from experts deliver content on sales and marketing.

The first speaker was event founder Toni Coleman Brown who discussed the importance of content marketing and how it can positively impact the bottom line of businesses.  She also discussed how to improve website conversions.  The topics were well received by the audience who took copious notes.

Tina Flood’s talk on How to Be a Fearless Entrepreneur wowed the audience.  Her energy was contagious.

Excitement filled the air when the dynamic sale trainer Brian Keith McNeill took the stage.  Brian’s style had the audience on their feet as they learned the importance of listening when closing sales.  Brian had some awesome give-a-ways that had the ladies eager to win.

The Small Business Boot Camp Afternoon Sessions

During lunch the group heard from Lucinda Cross-Otiti.  Lucinda is known for her ACTIVATE conference.  She had a motivating talk that tied in to her new book titled, “The Big Ask.”  She discussed with the women how important it is to simply ask.  Lucinda delivered an on-time message.  You could see the light bulbs go off in the heads of each guest as she spoke.

The afternoon sessions of the Small Business Boot Camp included panelist and additional speakers such as Khalilah Webster who showed the entrepreneurs how to level up their entrepreneurial efforts and Beltkiss Sanborn who showed the women how to rock their Instagram accounts.

Overall the event was an enormous success.

What’s next for the Small Business Boot Camp for Women

The event Founder, Toni Coleman Brown has said that what’s next for this event in 2019 is several Small Business “Mini” Boot Camp events.  “These MINI Boot Camps will take place in multiple locations as well as virtually.  They will be half day workshops live and 2 hour sessions when done virtually.  I believe that I can impact more people if I conduct some of these events online and travel to some of our key markets,” said Brown.  “We hope to announce the schedule very soon and conduct our first virtual session before the end of this year.”

Therefore, all of the fans of the Small Business Boot Camp for Women will have an opportunity to experience some aspect of the event all year long.

Going to a conference for the first time can be scary.  You may not know anyone and this might be your first time attending.  In this article we will show you how to get the most out of our conference so that you won’t have those fears.

Bring Business Cards

One of the most effective ways to make sure you get the most out of our conference is to bring business cards. Make sure to include your head shot on them so folks can remember you.  Now to get them engage, use the back of your business card to extend an offer.  An example of a good offer would be, “Text 5555 to get the first chapter of my book for free.”

Carry a Notebook

There’s nothing like a good old fashion notebook to get the most of our conference.  It is helpful because the battery doesn’t die like it does with laptops or tablets and it’s lightweight and easy to carry.

Carry a Sweater or Cardigan

Meeting rooms have a tendency to get cold.  If you’re shivering during an event you will not be able to concentrate, which is why you should always carry a light sweater or cardigan to our events.

Your Favorite Writing Instrument

Make sure to carry extra pens to write with.  And if you have a favorite make sure to bring it.  Writing and taking notes extends the learning process for years and years to come. Just the act of writing seals the content to memory.

Snacks and Water

Even though our event comes with breakfast and lunch, it’s still always a good idea to bring a snack.  This helps to keep your blood sugar levels normal and your energy levels high.

Write Out Your Questions Ahead of Time

Review the conference schedule ahead of time and jot down your specific questions before the event.  This way you can make sure that you have them ready during the Q & A sessions after each workshop.

Create Learning Goals

Set your learning goals. Come to the conference with a set intention on learning at least one thing that you can implement in your business right away.  This will ensure that you are not wasting your time or money.

The Radisson New Rochelle is the location of the 7th Annual Small Business Boot Camp for Women.  This will be our 3rd time at this hotel.  It is a wonderful venue located just above the Bronx in New Rochelle.  We love the Radisson New Rochelle for several reasons and they are as follows:

  1. Kind Staff – The Radisson New Rochelle’s staff is so friendly and helpful.  From a southern girl’s perspective, you just can’t get much nicer than their team.  The sales and marketing team is so sweet and so accommodating.  They make you want to keep coming back again and again.
  2. Comfortable accommodations – The rooms at the hotel are so comfortable.  The entire hotel has been updated and the rooms are all big and roomy.  You can stretch out and not feel as if you’re all over each other if you’re staying in a room with more than one person.
  3. The food at the restaurant is great.  The hotel has a restaurant called, Noma Social and the restaurant is also a club.  While it can get pretty loud and wild on the weekends, you are sure to have nothing but fun.  The food is also pretty darn good.
Booking a Room a the Radisson New Rochelle

When it’s time to book your room at this hotel, you must do it early.  The hotel books up fast.  Right the hotel is completely sold out for the weekend of Oct. 20th.  You can still take your chance and try to secure your room, but you will probably get disappointed.  Each year the rooms at the hotel fill up fast.  Therefore, it always pays to book early.  To Make a Reservation call: (914) 576-3700.  Give them the code: Small Biz Boot Camp.

The Radisson New Rochelle is Find (Location is everything)

The hotel is conveniently located right off of I-95.  It is also easy to get to using Metro North.  This is another reason why it is the perfect venue for your next event.

Our members love it!  And because they love the hotel and you will too.

Make sure to secure your seat to this year’s event and come out!  You will laugh, you will cry, and you will grow beyond measure.
