A Newborn Photography Blog. I am super laid back and love my camera in my hand! When I'm on a shoot, I like to just sit back. I love shooting newborns and babies! Maybe it's because they are flawless and super cute!! But I also love shooting portraits of families and children!
If you have been following me for a long time you know that I’ve been busy with lots of sessions! From newborns, maternity, 1 yr olds, you name it! It’s soo hard for me to blog every session especially since there are so many I would love to share but can’t. If your not already, make sure to follow my Instagram page! Thats is where I do the most of my sharing of my sessions. From day-to-day things, behind the scenes and all these gorgeous babies!
Baby Booker was the best little boy. I don’t often get baby fever but he was pushing all the right buttons! He snuggled so easily into every pose and just was so fun to work with! He even had a short awake period and gave us the best expressions!! It was important to mom and dad to capture Booker with some of there UCF memorabilia so even though Booker made us work for it at the end, we got it and know mom and dad are going to just love it!!
It’s not everyday I have a newborn come in with a crazy amount of hair! A full head of hair is seen here and there but Ella’s hair was another story! She was just the sweetest and barley made a peep during her session! Her dark black hair hair just popped against all the soft colors we used during her session! Her parents loved the soft mauve, pink and cream tones for her session since thats what they have in her nursery. They are such a sweet and loving family and just love this little girl to pieces. We used outfits and headbands from many of my favorite vendors like No. 2 Willow Lane,Dearest Dreams and Photo Muffins. I am so blessed to have these amazing vendors at my fingertips to create such beautiful pieces to adorn on this little babies!
Still catching up on my blogging from the busy fall season. I have been doing so many newborns lately, I’m hoping one day I will get caught up on them all! Baby Carson was such a sweet little guy for his newborn session. Carson was around 1-2 weeks old when he came into my Phoenix studio. This is the best and ideal window for doing newborn session. Carson’s daddy is a fire fighter so I was always fun to incorporate some of his turn outs and gear into his session.. Carson had some of the best skin which made for easy editing on my part. I loved all the black and whites we incorporated into this session! The red, gray and black hat and romper set from No 2. Willow Lane is one of my favs and was so excited to use it on him!
I am always a sucker for a baby with a full head of hair! When baby Sofia came in around 2 weeks old to my Phoenix newborn studio I couldn’t get my eyes of her hair. She also couldn’t get her eyes of me! She was wide awake the first few moments of her session but as soon as I got her all wrapped up she fell right to sleep. I don’t mind photographing babies awake, I actually like it as long as they are calm and comfortable I will continue to shoot away. I love the soft neutral and mauve florals we used for her session.
Sofia’s family originally live in New York but came out to AZ to have their baby girl, as the hustle and bustle of Phoenix is a little more low key then NYC. They came in to see me before they head back home and I am so happy they did. I hope to see this baby girl again and to see how much her and her hair have grown!
Mini Newborn Photographer Phoenix | Baby Parker Mini Session
Several months ago I started seeing a trend in inquires. These were clients that were asking if I had any smaller packages for newborn photography. At the time I only had the 1 package as a full session and 30 digitals. As the more I thought about it I thought it would be a perfect idea to offer a smaller and simpler package for clients still wanting high quality images from a seasoned photographer. As a new parent or a parent who is on baby #5, finding a newborn photographer is hard. Someone thats close, you relate with, has experience, you like their style and what they offer is all key things. I would hate to turn a client away that loved my work but wouldn’t compete with my price point. Offering Newborn Mini’s was now a no brainer.
A Newborn Mini Session is perfect for so many reasons, its a win-win for everyone. You are still able to capture all the newness of your precious baby, getting a experienced photographer, a good amount of images and its a quick session! The mini session is done wrapped only mainly because it helps the time of the session go quickly. The diaper is kept on and mom still arrives with baby tired and a full belly by feeding him/her upon arrival. There are 5-6 sets that are done with baby and the wraps are kept on but varied the entire time. There are so many different looks and feels you and still achieve with the baby wrapped and usually this keeps baby sound asleep and can knock out a newborn mini in 45min – 1 hour.
Baby Parker was no exception. He was sound asleep and I wrapped him in a tight swaddle and I didn’t see his eyes open once! We used different wraps, hats, furs and buckets for his session and even got festive with a little pumpkin set since he is a fall baby. Mom loved all the images and so did I! I am so happy to now be offering these packages and I think my clients are to!!
Baby Wells was the sweetest little boy!! The Holemon family finally got their baby boy after have 2 little girls. Sisters Emma and Abby are so smitten with their baby brother. Andrew Wellington (Wells) Jr. was so perfect for his newborn session in Phoenix. Mom wanted to corporate some blues and grays along with a few specific shots that are special to their family. This family are HUGE Alabama fans and have a photo of each one of their girls with this Alabama Roll Tide sign. The tiny football fit seamlessly into his little fingers! Pslam 139 : 14 is also a special verse just for Wells as mama has canvases hung in their home of all their children with a specific verse so it was amazing to recreate this image for them! Baby Wells is so loved in this family of 5 and so happy daddy finally got his boy!
It was so great to see this family again. I saw them a little over 7 months ago when mom Patricia first found out she was pregnant with baby #2. One of the biggest compliments I can get is when clients return to me for their families milestones! Baby Olivia arrived a few weeks early but was perfectly healthy! She was a bit feisty the first part of her session and didn’t want to sleep, but we did get some adorable shots with her eyes open.
When clients come in for their newborn session, I have everything set out and planned according to their questionnaire they fill out prior to their session. Olivia’s mom requested colors of black and white with soft pinks to go with her nursery. I love all the looks that we did for her session and even used some of my favorite vendors like Luneberry, Props By Posies and Dearest Dreams.
I am always booking newborn sessions a month or two out, so if you are expecting there is no “too soon” time to book a newborn session for your precious baby!
Love these sweet shots with her Gabby. Such a memorable moment!
This sweet baby girl was just perfection. I love being able to photograph these newborns in my Phoenix studio because I have access to all my props. When baby Charlotte’s mom told me she wanted a “vintage” look for her newborn session I had the perfect props planned for her. The soft an neutral colors looked so good on her against her perfect skin! She was just the sweetest baby and barely made a peep during her session.
I had a fun shot planned at the end for a summer themed “By the pool” shot with a adorable pink poka suit from No. 2 Willow Lane! I couldn’t have picked a better baby for that set up because she did so well! Charlotte was born 3 weeks early but we still did her newborn session around 1-2 weeks old which is the perfect time frame for newborns.

Scottsdale Baby Photography | 1 Week Old Baby Lexi
Baby photography sure has come a long way since I started 5 years ago. When I graduated college I only really knew about wedding photographers as newborn portraits were something that was done in your local baby store. I have learned so much in these past 5 years that working with these sweet babies has become more of a art then photography. Baby Lexi was such a little doll for her newborn session with me in my Phoenix studio. If you remember her parents maternity session a few months ago, we photographed Alison a very soft pink maternity gown. I wanted to keep with that same soft color scheme for sweet Lexi. She was just the perfect little baby and barely made a peep during her session.
I usually photography babies between 6-14 days old so insure they are nice and sleepy for their photo shoot with me. During that window they still have their nights and days mixed up and can be curled in different positions. Lexi was so easy to work with, we pretty much let me work with her in any way.
I adore this romper and headband set from Photo Muffins! It looked perfect on her!
Alison has touches of Cinderella in baby Lexi’s nursery so we thought it would be darling to include this little Cinderella slipper into a photo.
It’s all the little details you never want to forget!
