The color is dark red with a purple glow on the glass border. The smell of ripe cherry and blackberries. Body is full. In the mouth velvety and fruity, sweet cherry, blackberry, some dry fruit and little bit of chocolate . Tannins mature, rounded and a good balance of alcohol. The end of the long, fruitful, with nice fruit acids and delicacies.

What else ? WoW, a wine that fast conquered the Serbian wine lovers with its new “French” style of Vranc, soft and silky, but with all the preserved characteristics of this grape variety. First of the “selection” series with the white label of the Tikves winery, announced a new approch about Vranac wine production, and also announced whole series of quality Vranac wines from other Macedonian wineries. If we know that price of this premium wine is +50% less then Serbian wines at similar category, it is not surprising that it quickly disappears from the shelves of Belgrade wine stores.

Curiosities:Vranac is a Balkan indigenous grape variety, (http://serbianwineguide.com/regional-grape-varieties/)  popular in Montenegro and Hertzegovina, (although it some parts of Serbia, but small). In Macedonia it was seriously planted at the time of raising large agricultural cooperatives during the socialist era (1950-1960). Someone has assumed that the warm Macedonian summer would be appropriate for this Mediterranean grape. And he was right

Tikves winery is one of the surviving large agricultural companies from the period of real socialism.
Fortunately, it remained undivided, and new owners have decided to call Philippe Cambie (http://www.philippecambie.com/) as a consultant/ Mr. Cambiee and his young team, for less than 10 years, made a miracle in Macedonia.Instead of the company that was the biggest Balkan exporter of bulk wines, Tikves winery today , has 3 premium wine lines, all taking over 90 points at wine fairs.

Color golden yellow. Mild smell, quince and little honey. In the mouth a wonderful sweet (but not too sweet) fruit , a mix of quince, pear and apple. And all of this is very well integrated with mild fruit acids. Alcohol also is well balanced, it does not feel. The ending is long, slightly sweet, with true muscat taste.

What else? The wine that we drink during the interruptions of wine-fairs when we relax with the coffee. Or sometimes in the end like as “goodbye glass”. It can be an aperitif. It is absolutely appropriate for every role. Because of this, its wine enjoys a huge reputation among Serbian wine lovers who are not very in-love with sweet wines.

Name : Slatka mala (Sweet girl)

We have the pleasure to introduce on our pages the lady, artist which gives honor to Dionysius with her unique work on the glass. You can see here different themes, with fireworks of colors or precision filigree works , but always different, always with deep emotion and unique.

Visnja Zikic, about herself :
There are two things that made me devote myself to glass painting completely.  Firstly, I come from a family who celebrate St Trifun as a family patron and have always worshipped wine.  St Trifun was a patron of vine-growers, grapes and wine. Secondly, I studied chemistry at university and I watched the changes of coluor caused by chemical reactions in glass tubes. I found them fascinating. I also think that I inherited some skills from my talented parents. My main aim was to contribute to wine drinking culture so I started painting wine glasses and decanters. If you want to feel the full taste and smell of wine, it is very important that you choose the right shape of the glass.  That is crucial. Wine glasses and wine are also a pleasure for all senses. They should be beautiful, worship-provoking and only then the satisfaction is complete. The motives I choose depend on the inspiration and purpose, sometimes on the user’s wish. The paints I use are long-lasting and stable. Glass painting gives me the freedom of artistic expression. Cooperation with people who use my glasses is a great pleasure for me, and I can see that the culture of wine drinking has reached the level which this Dionysian drink deserves.

What else ? This is one of the few Serbian wines that we export to Italy (under the name “Darija”,  with diferent label, domestic is very “retro”, but its also contributes to the overall impression about this Pino). And it’s not the only interesting  thing. Vineyards of this Pinoa are located  near of small coal-mine town Lazarevac, a place that is better known for brandy than wine. But in this case, this small hill slope gets one of the best Pino Noar in Serbia, very , very good.
