This is the club’s second year visiting Carleton Farms for Fall fun. The Farm, in Lake Stevens (https://www.carletonfarm.com/), boasts a giant pumpkin patch, hay rides, a outdoor playland for littles with a giant pumpkin jumping area and kid’s corn maze, pumpkin doughnuts, animals, and barn full of straw bales and dried corn. Needless to say, it is a wonderful club event for soon-to-be parents of multiples and older kids alike. Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped; we are an entirely volunteer run organization and many hands make for light work, new friends, and family fun:-)

We had a great pool party in January! Over 40 families joined, with kids from infant to school age. This is my family’s favorite event that SFOM does! My highlight as the Vice President was seeing a PEMS group together, with their babies swimming in the shallow fountain area. It is a joy to watch the community come alive. A special thank-you to Angela Smith for volunteering and organizing such a fun outing.

A few clouds did not deter over 100 people from SFOM (kids and their adults) from showing up at Carleton Farm on Saturday for a super fun pumpkin patch meetup!  Members enjoyed coffee and pastries before heading out to ride the zip line, cruise the “pony express” train, make their way through the corn maze, launch pumpkins from cannons, frolic in a pit of dry corn, and of course pick out pumpkins and get some great pictures!

This gigantic sale is not to be missed! Come check out over 60 families of multiples selling gently-used, seasonally-appropriate clothing, gear, books and toys for expecting parents and children of all ages, including maternity clothing! This is the place to find AMAZING deals on quality used items! A small percentage of profits goes to SFOM, but most proceeds go right back to the families selling so it’s a great opportunity to support local families with multiples!

Your Seattle Families of Multiples Board had our 2nd annual retreat on October 2nd, and enjoyed a very productive day discussing club benefits, events, and general business. We reviewed the results of the 2015-2016 Year End Survey that many of you completed last summer (thank you!) and discussed what was going well, as well as areas that could use improvement. We also spent a good amount of time discussing our overall communications strategy, and came up with a plan that includes a monthly digest email of events, periodic outreach for new volunteers, as well as better consistency across Big Tent, the SFOM public website, and our Facebook pages.
