If you guys have seen any pictures from recent fashion shows or have been to stores lately, then I’m sure you’ve seen hair accessories popping up. This trend is right up my alley especially since I love quick hair looks that I don’t have to fuss too much over! Adding a gold cuff around your pony can take your look from boring to bold in a heartbeat. There are SO many options to choose from so let’s break a few down and have some fun! 😉
Spiced up Bobby Pins
We all know how useful bobby pins can be in our day to day lives- yet we always manage to lose every single one of them, but that’s beside the point lol! Upgrading your dull old black bobby pin to a gold version or one with embellishments instead will take this staple hair accessory to the next level. Line up a few gold bobby pins in a row to hold face-framing pieces to the side, and your look is SO chic with minimum effort!
Silky Hair Scarf
Next up is a silk hair scarf! This multi-use hair accessory will be your bestie during spring and summer. Try putting your hair in a bun and wrapping one of these around it for a vintage European look or incorporate it into your next braid for a touch of fun! The color and print options are endless so have fun and experiment to see which looks best on your hair color.
Hair Cuff and Pearl Accents
Like I mentioned before, adding a gold cuff on top of your ponytail band can literally elevate your look. But it’s also to time to bring back your hair ties with details like pearls. I recently wore one by Jen Atkin, and I loved the playful look of it!
Lastly, the classic headband is making a comeback this summer, and I’m all for it 😉 The “athleisure” look has been trending for a while now, and this hair accessory is ready to participate. Whether you go for the all-white look or black, it’s best to keep the colors minimal to truly give your look that sporty vibe!
Those were my favorite hair accessories for this year! Will you babes be rockin’ these pieces? I even saw a claw clip on the runway at the Alexander Wang show lol!! Not sure if I’m ready to wear mine out of the house just yet, but it’s fun to see all the 90’s trends coming back to life :). Hope you guys enjoyed this post!! Until next time… Xo
I recently gave myself a little mommy makeover (2 months postpartum what what!) and decided to add some highlights to my naturally dark brown hair. I seldom add color to my hair because the word “bleach” has always scared me but I really wanted a nice change for spring. I stopped by the dpHUE house to get my hair done by the color King Justin Anderson – his celebrity client roster includes Miley Cyrus, kelly Osbourne, Kim Kardashian, Emma Roberts, Leighton Meester, Jennifer aniston.. to name a few. He also gave me some great tips on how to take care of my color treated hair at home to prevent damage. While I was there, I expressed my fears and since I’m someone who applies heat to my hair on the reg, I needed to know exactly what products to use at home to maintain a healthy color.
We decided to add a few tints of lighter brown shades throughout the mid to ends of my hair which is really easy to maintain. I don’t like visiting the salon every 3-6 weeks if I don’t have to so he suggested we stay away from highlighting the roots which will allow me to go longer without the salon visits. We did add a base to my roots to dye the greys I had and he gave me the dpHUE at home hair color which is salon quality DIY (better than drugstore box dyes which can dry out your hair!) Check out some of the other tips and products from dpHUE that you can use to keep your hair color healthy and shiny!
Justin’s Tips for Healthy Color-Treated Hair:
Don’t over shampoo! — Use dpHUE ACV Hair Rinse in place of shampoo + conditioner a few times a week to lock in color while gently cleansing hair. Trust me, your hair + hair color with THANK YOU for it!
To keep warm tones away — Use dpHUE Cool Blonde Shampoo + Conditioner to fight brass. The violent pigment in both of these products with neutralize warm tones in the hair to keep a “cooler” look. Don’t be fooled by the term “blonde” in the title — any hair color can use this to keep brass at bay.
Use a clear oil to add moisture + shine back into the hair. — Use dpHUE Argan Oil Therapy on wet or dry hair to tame frizz + add the shine to you hair color. The reason it’s so important to use a clear oil it to prevent the oil from tinting your hair color. A lot of oils have an amber or rose tint to them that can add warm + turn blonde hair color too warm + yellow.
I am a huge fan of all the dpHUE products (many of you have seen them in my Bless Box!) because the quality is rich in every product and really makes a healthier difference for color-treated hair. You can also find their products at Sephora and Ulta!

Hi babes!! I recently did a fun interview, and I thought I would share it with you guys here as well! Thank you Citizine for the feature! To see their post, click here. Xo, Saz
Sazan Hendrix is what happens when you let go of the what ifs and shoot for what you love. In her case, that meant pursuing a blogging career and marrying her college sweetheart. The results of her pursuits come alive on her blog and Instagram by way of cover-worthy lifestyle images of her husband, Stevie, and their baby daughter, Valentina. You’d never guess Sazan is a Texas transplant the way she rocks LA. Originally, the move was supposed to be temporary, but the City of Angels really does have a way of capturing your heart through its people and places.
“Even though we’ve lived here for years now, there’s always a new coffee spot we want to check out or a yummy restaurant we’ve been eyeing,” says the lifestyle enthusiast.
Sazan is also the founder of The Bless Box, a carefully curated monthly subscription box where Sazan shares her favorite products. Considering Sazan’s busy schedule, taking time for herself and her family is key for balance. Her perfect morning is a quiet one, starting with a homemade breakfast with Stevie and Valentina, followed by a stroll with their pup, Sweetie. Part of that balance is also making time for romance with Stevie around LA. We asked her to share her favorite date spots that keep them coming back for more.
Sazan Hendrix: Are we even shocked that this is my first date night spot?! Lol! I love going there because you have all of the shops, restaurants and even a movie theatre to check out!
SH: This is our go-to for those romantic nights! The view of LA is just so beautiful from there, and best of all it’s free! If you’ve watched the movie La La Land, then you have definitely seen this spot!
Ladurée – Beverly Hills
SH: Stevie and I love coming here for lunch dates! The decor is just so cute, and their mini burgers are to die for. We always get their macaroons to-go too!
Moonlight Rollerway, Inc
SH: This place gives me major old-school date night vibes! Even though I’m not the best at rollerblading it’s such a fun spot for us!
Venice Canals Walkway
SH: If we ever just want to go for a relaxing stroll, the Venice Canals is our favorite. It’s so peaceful there, and you almost feel like you’re in Italy!
SH: Sometimes the perfect date just NEEDS pizza! Terroni has my favorite margarita pizza ever, and their Southern Italian dishes never disappoint!
SH: If you’re going to try one restaurant only from this list, make it this one! Crustacean is mine and Stevie’s all-time favorite places to dine- make sure to order their garlic noodles! You won’t regret it.
Inn of the Seventh Ray
SH: We recently celebrated Stevie’s birthday here and loved it. Their brunch menu is delicious, and the place itself is beautiful. People call it one of the most romantic restaurants in LA and I absolutely agree!
Runyon Canyon Park
SH: Runyon is a favorite hike trail for every tourist, and the locals love it too! Not only are the views beautiful once you get to the top, but its a major workout! We enjoy switching up our dates and doing something healthy instead from time to time!
SH: This area is definitely one of our favorites for a daytime date! With so many cute stores and little coffee shops, it’s the perfect spot to spend a Sunday afternoon.
SH: One of the popular spots in Downtown LA and for a good reason, the views of the city are breathtaking! If we’re craving yummy cocktails and a fun night out in the town, this is our go-to place!
SH: We love our sushi date nights, and this is one of our recent finds! It’s located in Downtown Pasadena and surrounded by so many shops. We love the customer service here, and their rolls are double the size of any other sushi spot! Can’t complain.
Santa Monica Pier
SH: Another staple date night for us is the Santa Monica Pier. From walking along the beach or watching the sunset, this place is the ultimate spot to check out!
SH: This restaurant takes our breath away every time. With the gorgeous beach front views and delicious seafood, we always find ourselves back here time after time.
Today’s post that you’re about to dive into is a guest post from an incredible and inspiring woman who I admire for being vocal and vulnerable about a subject so many of us can relate to. Being enough in a not enough world. No matter who you are or what kind of life you have, it’s easy to get lost in the social-media-obsessed world we live in today. We’ve all had moments of defeat and times when we question our self-worth. I’ve been there. I hope this new series on my blog will help lift spirits and bring you a fresh new perspective from real and inspiring women. Please let me know at the end of this post what you think of these guest contributed posts in 2018 here on my blog. xo, Saz
The other day I did something that led me down an ugly path: I found myself perusing the social media channels of a young woman doing what I am passionate about in life, but much further down the road. Some might say she is more successful. I found myself comparing what I was doing with what she was doing and a bit of jealousy began to grip my heart. Not only was she flourishing in her dream, but she was beautiful and seemed to have this vibrant life that made my days filled with baby spit-up, exhaustion, and rare one-on-one hubby time seem mundane. I began to discount my worth.
Comparison is a horrible thing and social media doesn’t help. For the record, I happen to adore following my friends on Instagram and keeping up with my family on Facebook. It can be a wonderful thing. However, it also beckons you and me to secret places of feeling bad about who we are and what we are doing in life.
• You see a fashion blogger looking perfect as usual and feel a little less pretty.
• A like-minded girl gets recognized for her passion and you go unnoticed.
• Her husband seems to always be doting on her and you feel lonely.
• She got the perfect family picture but your kid(s) has been in the worst mood all day and you’re barely keeping it together.
Truth is, people often portray what they want people to believe about them. Rarely does the follower get a real glimpse into that person’s life. Rarely do they see the imperfect and unlovely. Television and magazines don’t always help either. Starting with this in mind, know that no life is perfect and that no person has it all together. We all struggle with something. Carry some burden. Worry about some issue out of our control.
What do you do when you don’t feel good enough because comparison is knocking at your door? Three things can be very helpful in those hidden moments:
• Get some perspective – Remind yourself that the person you are comparing yourself to is in a different stage of life. Take a cue from Jon Acuff: “Never compare your beginning to someone else’s middle.” You’re just in a different phase and that’s ok!
• Change your mindset – When an unwanted thought pops into your head, immediately smack that ugly down! Instead of listing what you don’t have and who you aren’t, start taking into account what you do appreciate about yourself. Remember: there is no one else like you in this world! Appreciate all the wonderful that is you.
• Celebrating the other person’s success – A great way to combat comparison is to honor others. Celebrate their wins and encourage them in their dreams. We are all sisters and if we don’t have each other’s backs, who will? Their win isn’t a loss for you; this world is big enough for us all to dream and be and succeed.
I share with you only what I’ve shared with myself in those moments. I know it’s not always easy to combat comparison but if you truly want to flourish in this life and walk out who you are in true confidence, embrace your contributions to this world and do it with a passion to see others do the same.

Hi babes! Hope you’re all having an amazing week so far! :)Now that I’m getting back into my normal routine, I love to dress up and play around with different looks. With the crazy weather here in LA- super hot afternoons, chilly nights- I never leave the house without grabbing a jacket! Outerwear is totally essential for any occasion, from a casual brunch date to a night out, this third layer to your outfit can give you that extra oomph your look needs!
Switching up your outerwear can change the whole vibe of your outfit! Recently I styled a simple black camisole top with wide-legged trousers and to spruce it up; I added this waterfall trench coat! I love how “put together” it made the outfit look. For a more edgy twist, I could wear the same thing again but with a leather jacket. To tone down the dressy aspect of the trousers even further, I could grab my go-to denim jacket instead! The options are seriously endless, and that’s what I love about outerwear- it allows you to style your pieces differently and give a fresh new look to any of your favorite outfits!
Here is a breakdown of all of my must-have outerwear pieces available right now:
-Shop Casual Outerwear Below-
-Shop Longline Outerwear Below-
-Shop Bold Outerwear Below-
I know weather can be a significant factor on your outerwear if you live in colder climates, but picking out a jacket you adore will have you feeling more confident and put together! So even if you do need to wear a puffy jacket for the snow, pick one with fun details or a pop of color and just rock it, girl ;)! What’s your go-to outerwear piece and how do you love to style it? I would love to know! Until next time y’all… xo
