Perfection surrounds us. The world of the modern woman is saturated with airbrushed magazine images and picture-perfect social media squares. Society tells us that a perfectly curated life is the key to happiness. We long for beauty: in our bodies, our homes, our friendships and our families. Beauty has become equated with perfection, so we determine the standard of perfect for each part of our lives and strive to meet a never-ending list of goals in the elusive search for a beautiful life.

Unfortunately, the perfectly beautiful life is impossible. We would have to be Wonderwoman to live up to every expectation put on modern women. I bet even Gal Gadot can’t manage it all. I’m sure today you are living under one or most of these expectations:

•You should be beautiful, without spending too much time on yourself.

•You should be thin, without obsessively exercising or dieting.

•You should create an organic and non-toxic home no matter your income and budget.

•You should give the best of yourself to your family, but not neglect your work life.

•You should always be happy even when your life has been full of disappointment.

•You should wear something worthy of an #ootd-gram even if you’re staying in.

•Your house should look like it’s been professionally decorated even if you’ve never had any training.

•You should have a side-hustle that will one day become a thriving business that lets you work from home while you care for your children.

•On top of it all, you should practice self-care and get eight hours of sleep every night.

I haven’t even covered all of it, but you know the places where the weight of these expectations is beginning to crush your soul. And it is a weight, isn’t it? Because perfection is actually impossible.

Despite all our best efforts, we all fail to meet the endless lists of requirements for a beautiful, successful, and exceptional woman. Even though we know it’s impossible, we still long for beauty, so we put on our armor of perfection and pray that we’ve met enough of the requirements, that the perfection we can manage will make us beautiful women.

The Problem with Perfection:

• It keeps us from revealing our true selves. It leaves us feeling the shame of secret failures, of never being enough.

• Our quest for perfection prevents true intimacy. It keeps us from knowing ourselves and letting our true selves be known. It inhibits our ability to give and receive love, because true love is the ability to offer and accept grace.

• Our armor of perfection keeps us from accepting grace: from ourselves, from others, and even from God. Grace is unmerited favor, receiving something we have done nothing to deserve.

The Beauty of Grace:

• Grace allows for flaws. Grace is beautiful because it takes off the armor of perfection and allows who you truly are to shine forth. It embraces the unique. Instead of having to conform to the list of what a superwoman looks like, it allows you to discover how you were created to offer beauty to the world.

• Grace Benefits Others: Once you have taken off the armor of perfection and accepted grace, you are able to give grace back to the world, to your friends, to your family. Because you no longer expect perfection, and you are free to love people for who they truly are.

• Grace is Attractive: Grace is the beginning of true beauty. A woman of grace appeals to the people around her. She makes people feel safe, loved, and accepted by lowering her standards of perfection. From her place of grace, she can extend grace to others, forgiving offenses and celebrating their strengths.

The change from impossible perfection to beautiful grace starts right here, with us. When women begin to let go of impossibly perfect standards and accept grace, it causes ripple effects of grace in the world around them. It creates a new standard of beauty, one that cares more about love and acceptance and less about fitting the mold. In grace, we can stand imperfect yet fully known, loved, and accepted, and absolutely beautiful.

Postpartum style… Where do I even begin!? To be honest, I started thinking about the way I was going to dress after I had Teeny a little before I even gave birth. Dressing while pregnant was actually pretty simple for me. Depending on my mood, I either went for a bump-hugging top and comfy bottoms or just a flowy dress. Either way, the baby bump made the outfit look cute without much effort. But after having Valentina, I felt like hmm, am I supposed to show off my mini bump still- because let’s be real, that doesn’t magically disappear after giving birth- or do I just find ways to cover my postpartum body?

Let me tell you this babe, do whatever YOU feel comfortable with. There are no rules to dressing in general, so the same thing applies to postpartum style! Here are some Saz-tips for my gorgeous new mama’s to help you dress postpartum:

Tip #1: Comfort is KEY!

My main focus especially for the first month or so was to go for what’s most comfortable. With a newborn, it’s hard to find any time to pull yourself together let alone try to put together an extravagant outfit! Lol! I loved wearing a lot of cozy knits I could pair easily with leggings or jeans. You can easily dress up the look a little by adding earrings or just a bold lip!

Tip #2: Matchy-Matchy

This is one of the easiest ways to look put-together! I love wearing sets because it for one it looks like you made some effort styling your outfit- ha! But also, you can wear the pieces separately and come up with a whole new look! Your size tends to change a lot after pregnancy so getting lots of use out of the same clothes is a great idea and saves you money!

Tip #3: Keep it High-Waisted

Looking back on my outfits postpartum, I notice I wore a lot of high-waisted clothing. The main reason why I gravitated towards that look is that it’s super flattering. The bottoms hit right at the smallest area of the waist so not only does it look great but it’s also really comfortable. The stomach region is one area that’s the toughest to lose weight on so this style will help conceal that without the need to wear Spanx!

Tip #4: Flat Out Footwear

You guys know how much I love wearing heels, but sometimes it’s just not practical especially with a newborn! These days I mostly go for shoes that are flat but still fun! Mules are a must-have in my opinion because they’re a little more on the dressy side but still comfy. For the days where I have a lot of errands to run with Valentina, I always grab my go-to sneakers instead!

Tip #5: Layering on

This tip really depends on the season but I find layering a third piece to your outfit helps switch things up. Once you discover a look you’re most comfortable in; it’s hard to stray too far from it. My way of making the same sort of outfit- like my favorite a top tucked into bottoms- more interesting is adding a  jacket to the look! That way I have so many more variations of rockin’ what I feel the best in while mixing things up! For the warmer months you can grab a lightweight duster or denim jacket, and for Autumn/Winter, a coat can be your go-to!

Those were my top 5 tips for Postpartum Style! I hope you babes found this style guide helpful and got some inspo for your next outfit!! If you have any personal postpartum styling tips, share them in the comments down below! I would love to know 🙂 Until next time… Xo

Hey fam! Today’s post is in partnership with Olay skincare, a brand that I’ve loved since I was in high-school. I decided to take part in their #TiltTest challenge to see if my skin would naturally radiate in the light after using a couple of their new products. Let’s do thisss!

But first, rewind to last year this time. I was living my best life in my second trimester of pregnancy with all the added benefits of zero hair shedding, zero breakouts and that all natural “pregnancy glow”. Let’s just say I got hooked on that glow and as soon as I had Valentina and it went away, I missed it. I thought, “How come I can’t always have that naturally radiating glow?” I was on a mission and decided to purge a ton of products from my bathroom cabinet and make room for new ones in my routine. I heard about Olay’s new Cleansing Infusion body and face wash, and wanted to try it out and see if I could bring back that mommy glow! Fun fact about me: When I’m trying something new, there’s always doubt that comes with it so I never want to spend too much time or money investing in a ton of products.

You all know I love the instant faux “glow” you can create with illuminating makeup products, but I wanted to bring products into my everyday routine that could naturally enhance my skin’s glow from head to toe. I recently had a photoshoot for my lipstick launch with Bobbi Brown and wanted to put these Olay products to the test after consistently using them in my routine.  I decided to go for a minimal makeup look for this shoot, and when I saw the pictures I loved how glowy my skin looked! (especially my shoulders and arms). I actually couldn’t believe it because after I had the baby, my skin was really dull and dry.

Safe to say, my skin passed the #TiltTest challenge! Have you guys tried these products from Olay yet? What other tips and tricks do you guys do to boost your skin’s natural glow? Anything specific in your diet or routine that you swear by? Comment below and let me know 🙂

Have a great day!!

Today I launched my Makeup & Motivate series on my channel and I just wanted to take a minute to personally thank my followers, readers and subscribers for the overwhelming amount of support.

So why did I decide to launch this Makeup & Motivate series?

I love makeup and I love to motivate, so I thought why not combine the best of both worlds? In today’s episode, the message is to just be you. I’ve struggled with finding myself (as we all have!) and I think social media plays a part in getting lost in the deep tunnel of comparison. The online world can be so filtered and I want to break that. As a social media influencer, I hope opening the door to real life topics like this will help motivate other women out there and fellow influencers to join me in this being real movement. I’ve always been pretty open and honest with you guys, but I’ll admit I’ve held back certain parts of myself at times because of caring so much about what others might say/think.   After I recorded this video, it felt so therapeutic. It felt right. I realized I have nothing to be ashamed about. My vulnerable side is real and one that so many women will appreciate.

Thank you to all my beautiful subscribers (and YOU my blog readers!) who continue to motivate me and support me- your encouragement inspires me daily. It’s what keeps me going in this space! It gives me the strength to speak up about certain things and not hold back.

In case you missed the video, you can check it out below! Don’t forget to subscribe to my channel to keep up with this series. Good stuff to come!!
