It’s been a busy astrological season, not just because we had a Full Moon in Sag, the Winter Solstice and Mercury Direct in one week (yikes), but because in just a few more days, powerhouse Uranus will turn direct in the sign of Aries.
This planet is associated with everything from sudden bolts of inspiration and genius to earthquakes, shifting (literally and spiritually) and insights, people and experiences that seem to come out of nowhere. It’s delightful to behold when it’s producing what you want, but can also be a little frustrating, as what’s here today may not be there tomorrow.
On January 2nd, this planet of uncertainty and instability goes direct at 24 degrees of assertive Aries, making it imperative during the “wobble” or few days in either direction, to be extra careful. On the roads, while traveling, and even in conversation, things could go sideways in a hurry, if you’re not a little more mindful of what’s going on around you.
People with later degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn should notice what this does to their planets and angles, as should people with early degree Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius, since Uranus is preparing to move into Taurus in May of 2018.
Though it will go retrograde in August, and move back into Aries, it’ll be back in Taurus as of March 2018, when financial security, comfort, motivation and more will come under a microscope.
Until then, Uranus will continue to separate from the difficult Uranus-Pluto square of 2012-2014, which broke apart relationships, systems, groups and conglomerates. Here’s hoping it’s better, safer roads ahead for all of us in 2018.
What ideas are surfacing, in your thoughts and dreams?
What projects are calling to be expressed?
As we prepare for Neptune to go direct in November, we’re being called as a species to see what we’re creating anew, what structures need to be reassessed, and what may need to come down, both in our personal lives, and in the world around us.
Until then, the best use of our time, amidst busy lives and holiday plans, is to consider what’s calling to us:
Is a creative pursuit calling you to connect with your inner world?
Your ancestors, or the past?
Your future, or the future of the planet?
Could a creative pursuit be your livelihood going forward?
Spending some time in meditation or contemplation now will prepare you for the changes to come, and put you in the best position to take advantage of the new energy coming your way in mid-November on.
It’s been a while since I had a chance to post. Been a bit busy, finishing up my new Getting Unconditional program, traveling and teaching a lot, and working on a new book.
Seems the dual eclipses of August acted as a bit of an accelerator in my life. I’ve gained a ton of new clients, and had a series of invitations to speak and teach at various places, too.
All this coincided (roughly) with Pluto moving direct in Capricorn. It happened during the last few days in September, and began jettisoning Things We No Longer Need — as an individual, a people, a planet and as spiritual beings.
For me, it’s a calling back to the meditation mat, back to my foundational practices, and into some new ones as well. I’ll be certifying in a few more healing modalities over the coming months, and offering them to be clients thereafter.
In this time, as we wrap up 2017 and head into a new year, it’s a great time to ask yourself:
What am I ready to release?
What can I give away or get rid of in my home or space?
What have I been holding onto for too long?
What am I ready to accept, once I have more space?
More to come soon. But hope your fall season’s already off to a great start!
As if we weren’t still dealing with the fallout from two strong eclipses in August, Mercury turning direct earlier this month, and the slow switch of Pluto during the last week of September, we have an equinox coming up!
On the 22nd, the Sun enters the sign of Libra, highlighting more balance, creativity, fairness and equality. Once in Libra, it will form a t-square with Vesta and Juno (two feminine asteroids), along with Chiron (an asteroid meaning healing through pain). Shadow work is wonderful at this time, as is anything you’re doing to dig out and release old wounds.
Authenticity is also highlighted, since Uranus is involved with almost every planet in this chart, as is intuition. Since Uranus also opposes the conjunction of Jupiter and the Moon in Scorpio, it’s important to notice rebellious feelings and deal with them accordingly. Not stuff them, of course, but release them in a fruitful and creative way. They may even serve as important motivation for some.
All in all, the Jupiter-Moon conjunction in the 9th works well with transformative Pluto in the 12th. This is am important “chickens coming home to roost” aspect, where what we’ve learned and put into practice can finally begin to be seen on the physical plane, or mistakes we’ve made can be released through 12th House activities like energy and metaphysical work.
Though we may inadvertently overestimate our resources and cash flow now, the North Node in the collective 7th House urges repairing relationships that may have drifted, or come undone. In 23 degrees of Leo, it’s about opening the heart again, and learning to trust those who may have hurt us.
Hope your equinox is everything you want it to be, and make sure to get outside to experience some of the energy directly, if you can!
What’s the number one thing my clients are looking for?
What’s the hardest thing, it seems, for any of us to get?
Unconditional love, or really anything that’s unconditional in nature.
We humans are a transactional species, always adding things up we do for others, while subtracting what we’re not getting from them n return.
This, in a nutshell, is making things conditional —
I’ll love you, but only if you do what I want.
Sure, I can lend you money. As long as I get to decide how you spend all your money in the meantime, until you pay me back (and possibly longer than that).
I’ll hire you for this job, but you’ll have to do that AND make me personally happy along the way.
Conditions limit us. Far from being an equal exchange, they cause us to lose sight of the present moment, which gives us so much, in favor of an unforeseen future, which has not arrived yet. I see so many constantly in their Life Ledgers that their energy begins to read as if it’s already determined (whatever IT is in this instance), and it’s left them more than a little disappointed.
My guides were adamant about creating a program to help people recognize conditional behavior in themselves, and begin to rid themselves of it over time. We’re very close to SOLD OUT, and will be closing registrations within a few days.
The Great Solar Eclipse of 2017 is in the books, and we’re all still deciding how we feel about it.
I had a strange, metallic smell and taste in my mouth all day, which is gone today, and had a series of strange, sequential (very unusual) dreams that unfolded an interesting narrative I’m still trying to sort out.
But how was it all for you?
Hopefully, you had a chance to at least watch some of NASA’s incredible coverage of the event, mostly free of annoying talking heads (we don’t care about you, folks), and focused on the science.
I hope, too, that you had some time for yourself, to decompress, to look inward, and decide what needs feeding and increased action in your life.
So much is beginning to move forward now, as we head into the Mercury direct period of September 5th and beyond, and finally to Pluto’s direct motion in late September. I’m excited to launch a brand new program beginning around that time, so if you’re not on my email list, join up today, so you can be first in line.
It’s going to be MASSIVELY HEALING, and help you to remove any blocks or obstacles to your success in a very specific way most don’t use. Hope to see you there!
I know, I know. If you’ve been anywhere near the spiritual, metaphysical or astrological news in the past month or so, you’ve probably been filled with ideas like Super Moons and Killer Eclipses and all kinds of other terror-filled concepts.
Let me clear a few things up for you, so you don’t hide under your bed all day on Monday.
During a Solar Eclipse, the Sun and the Moon are right side by side, in the same sign, and the same degree of that sign. This is the chart of the Solar Eclipse that’s happening on Monday the 21st —
As you can see, the Sun and Moon are right next to each other, or conjunct, in 28 degrees of Leo. This conjunction is trining Uranus in Aries, and transiting Mars (action, assertion, masculinity and ruler of Aries) is moving across the eclipse planets as well.
What you’ve got is a very powerful and fiery (since Leo and Aries are Fire Signs) ball of energy that wants to push outward into the world. This may manifest, depending on your own personal chart, as restlessness, anxiety, violence or even something else. But it’s energy that has to go somewhere.
Think about this as a way to look inward (or, if you’re a particularly physical person, outward) and discover what actions you need to take to make your life better and more easeful, but also more accomplished and fulfilled. This is not a time of sitting by the sidelines, in other words, but a time of locating and feeding your inner fire.
As always, be safe. There’s no use pushing so hard on something you end up wounded, physically or emotionally. Remember that self-care is always important, as is quiet time in contemplation.
Depending on where it hit your natal planets and angles, it may have been pretty intense indeed, as the Full Moon opposed the Sun and released some powerful energy into the Universe.
Most talk about the eclipse itself as a time to look to, to study and experience. But I find the “fallout” period, about a day or two after the event, so be just as illuminating.
Try this as a practice — Close your eyes for a moment and check in. Notice what feelings are really present for you. Are they memories, pulling you into the past, or anxiety about the future? Or just someone or something that has your attention right in the here and now?
Then see where that feelings or feelings may be located in your body. Is anything tight, tense or knotted up because of it?
Journal about what you’ve found. Does this release any further images, associations or connections?
Eclipses can be powerful indicators of what we want and need, but also what we really need to divest from, or release. Use what you find to take concerted action toward maintaining your overall health and wellbeing.
After all the hemming and hawing about 2016 being one of the worst years ever, taking away some of our most treasured idols (still not over you, Bowie), and generally sucking, 2017’s been pretty much like, “Hold my beer, man.”
We’ve managed to make it through 7 months, though (clinks glasses anyone within arm’s reach), with only 5 more to go in this year.
Problem is, there are two rather big astrological events happening in August — namely two eclipses, I want to talk about in separate posts. I’ll also be doing at least one podcast about them, so be on the lookout for those later this week.
The first one is a Full Moon Eclipse in 15 Aquarius. Now, we’re all pretty familiar with what goes on when a Full Moon happens — tidal changes, crime rates increase, general feelings of cray bumping up the charts — all these will be in full effect now.
When the Moon is eclipsed, it’s exactly opposing the Sun, which in this case is at 15 degrees of Leo. Normally, that’s a very traditional relationship aspect — the more masculine feeling Sun sparks up against, pulls against, and creates some sexy tension with the more feminine Moon.
In this case, though, it’s in Aquarius, which can be a little brainy, a little cold and distant, but very humanitarian, future-seeking, technology and social media obsessed, among other things. It’s much more of a “let’s be friends” placement, especially if we look at it in the chart below —
The Moon’s in the 11th House of dreams coming true, large audiences and social groups, politics and, yes, friends. It’s opposing the Sun, ruling the ego, in the 5th House of family, fun, dating and romance. The Sun’s also in a wide conjunction with Mars, planet of assertion and masculinity, and squaring Jupiter in the Libra, here placed in the 7th House of allies, marriage and serious relationships. So a theme is starting to emerge —
This forms a t-square (three planets boxing each other in) with the outlet at around 15 degrees of Aries. If you have planets in those signs, or close to those degrees, your chart may be affected, too.
What’s interesting is that the USA’s natal Chiron (an asteroid meaning healing through pain) is placed at 20 degrees of Aries, close enough to an opposition with Jupiter in Libra, and squaring the Moon and Sun on this date. Since a t-square naturally drives the energy toward the outlet, it’s in the country’s 1st House, or house of how we look, and are perceived by others, which is in need of the “healing through pain” aspect.
