Damascus , SANA- The 2nd session of “Cham Gathers Us” festival kicked off on Thursday in Tishreen Park in Damascus.

The festival is organized by Damascus Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with Internal trade and Consumer protection Ministry and Damascus Governorate and it will last for one month.

A documentary film about Syria was displayed at the opening ceremony, in addition to musical performance, and folk dances performed by the folk and theatre dance Jollanar troupe.

The Festival includes social , fun, artistic, sports, and economic activities , in addition to food street which presents a wide range of dishes for food enthusiasts.

Bonn, SANA-Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed that his country is going ahead in its efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis in Syria in light of Astana formula and UN resolution 2254.

Lavrov said at a press conference with his German counterpart, Heiko Maas, “Regarding Syria, we have briefed the German side on our efforts, along with Iran and Turkey, through Astana formula and UN resolution 2254, including humanitarian aids and the comprehensive settlement process and dialogue.”

UNSC resolution 2254 of December 2015 underlines that the Syrians are the only ones who determine the future of their country without any foreign intervention.

Homs, SANA- A number of European tourists arrived in archeological city of Tadmour (Palmyra) where they visited its National Museum , the Temple of Bell , the street of columns, the Historical Theater and many other archaeological landmarks .

The tourists also documented by photos acts of sabotage and destruction which had been caused to historical monuments due to crimes committed by Daesh(ISIS)terrorist organization.

Speaking to SANA , tourist Kathrin from Britain pointed out to Syria’s great civilization to which terrorists have sought to obliterate with its known culture to the entire world , expressing sorrow over the destruction that affected the city at the hands of the terrorists.

For his part, Steve, a professor at a university in New Zealand, considered that Palmyra is a city of civilizational creativity through its archeological monuments, pointing out to importance of its strategic position on the Silk Road historically.

Moscow, SANA-Russian Expert and diplomat for the Middle Eastern affairs Viacheslav Matuzov affirmed that Damascus International Fair is one of most important economic events in the region.

” A lot of Russian and European companies show interest to work in Syria, whether in regards to reconstruction process or in the field of energy and agriculture,” Matuzov told SANA correspondent in Moscow on Thursday.

In a similar interview, Economic Researcher Gregory Lukyanov said that economic exhibitions and conference, particularly Damascus international Fair, play a key role in finding good economic environments, adding that the Fair will witness a wide participation from Russian companies.

For his part, Russian expert Konstantin Troivetseiv said that the Fair plays a very important role in introducing the Syrian products and goods of high quality to the world.

Moscow, SANA- Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron discussed efforts to achieve a political solution to the crisis in Syria during a telephone conversation on Thursday.

Sputnik quoted Kremlin as saying in a statement that Putin and Macron exchanged views on the situation in Syria with emphasis on the importance of reaching the political settlement to the crisis in the country.

Aleppo, SANA-The number of the facilities which have been put into service again and started production in al-Sheikh Najjar Industrial City in Aleppo reached up to 565 facilities and currently 250 other facilities are being rehabilitated to put them back into service.

Industry Ministry Eng. Mohammad Maan Zain al-Abdin Jazbieh toured al-Sheikh Najjar Industrial City and inspected the reality of the work of facilities in it and the stages of production at them.

Director General of the General Establishment for Cement and Building Materials Dr. Ayman Nabhan, in a statement to SANA, said ” Certain parts of the Arab Cement Company on which heavy damages were inflicted at the hands of terrorists  and which went out of service are now being rehabilitated.”

Director-General of Homs Dairy Company,  Eng. Mohammad Hammad said that the production will be resumed at the diary factory in Aleppo over the coming months after repairing the machines which have been destroyed at the hands of terrorists.

Head of al-Sheikh Najjar Industrial City Hazem Ajjan,  said in a similar statement that the industrial water will be put into service again as the processes of pumping started to Aleppo and from it to the industrial city.

He added that the project of the fairgrounds will be also launched at the industrial city and it will be carried out soon.

In a statement to journalists, Industry Minister said that the industrialists have started to invest their facilities in a notable way, and they receive all the required support and attention by the Government.

He added that the facilities which have been put back into service enjoy a diversity of their products in the textile, chemical and food sectors.

Berlin, SANA- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said  that there shouldn’t be an endless silence towards the presence of thousands of terrorists in Idleb, asserting that eliminating terrorism is in the interest of all.

Lavrov, interviewed by the German Newspaper Rheinische Post, said “Eliminating terrorism hotbeds in Syria is considered in the interest of the European Union as it will decrease the level of the terrorist threat from the region and will reduce the flow of immigrants.”

Earlier on Wednesday, during a press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ivory Coast Marcel Amon-Tanoh in Moscow, Lavrov affirmed that the US and some Western states are trying to prolong the crisis in Syria and to protect Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization in order to achieve certain geopolitical goals.

Homs, SANA-Al-Rastan city in Homs northern countryside witnessed on Wednesday a popular celebration, with the participation of civil and official figures, on the first anniversary of liberating the northern countryside of Homs from terrorism and the restoration of security and stability to the region thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab army soldiers.

Participants in the celebration gathered in the main square of the city, raising the national flag and pictures of President Bashar al-Assad, chanting national songs that appreciate heroism of the army against terrorist organizations.

Chairman of al-Rastan municipality Ahmad Rahal said that tens of thousands of citizens have returned to their houses since liberating the city from terrorism, adding that the total number of residents there has reached 45 thousand citizens.
