Vedomosti.- Autocomponent Group has announced resumption of component supplies to Avtovaz in full scale, as stated by the company. In addition, an agreement has been reached on further cooperation between the two companies.
As reported by Avtovaz previously, the company was forced to suspend production at all the assembly lines of its plants in Togliatti and Izhevsk. The aforementioned plant supplies Avtovaz with a wide range of plastic parts, as told by the company spokesman without disclosing the details.
Avtovaz has warned that the compensation of losses may be demanded from the supplier, however, the amount has not been revealed by the company. Avtovaz had to suspend automobile production at its plants in Togliatti and Izhevsk for a few times previously, due to lack of components. The suspensions happened as a result of the suppliers’ failure to cope with the demand during the recovery periods after market shrinkages.

The supplier of Avtovaz has explained the reason behind the interruption in component deliveries, as reported by RNS.
“There are ongoing negotiations between the our plant and Avtovaz on the coordination of a new level of prices for component supplies, since October 2018. The current price levels do not cover the costs of the production of the components and their delivery to the conveyor of the manufacturer” – as stated by the press service.
The Autocomponent Group has stressed that the current circumstances did not occur unexpectedly. The situation is the result of protracted negotiations, which are still incomplete.

RusAutoNewsCom. – As announced by the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee, Russian car market has decreased by 3.3%, or by 5,171 units year-on-year in June 2019, and amounted to 151,180 vehicles.
Within the first half of this year 828,750 cars were sold in total, 20,471 units or 2.4% less then last year’s figure.
Joerg Schreiber, Chairman of the committee commented: “Six months into 2019, we find the market 2.4% down year-on-year, with a second quarter that proved more challenging than the first. Market expectations for the second half of the year are not fundamentally better. It is clear that market growth in the full year of 2019 is not a realistic scenario anymore. Even with a certain trend improvement in the second half, it would appear that the best outcome the market can hope for is to equalize last year’s sales result”.
Lada was again the most populer brand of the Russian car market in June 2019 with 30,768 units sold. Lada Granta was the most populer model with 11,609 units sold in June.
RusAutoNewsCom.- As reported the company press office, KAMAZ has started the production of aluminium fuel tanks with volumes from 200 to 800 litres. The annual production capacity of the new facility will be 35,000 tanks. In the meantime, the universal line allows the production of both aluminium and steel tanks.
“This year, we’ll launch the production of a new generation of KAMAZ vehicles, which will be significant for the company. Besides the economic aspect, it is important that our own line of aluminum fuel tanks will allow us to monitor the quality of tanks in real-time as an essential component of KAMAZ vehicles, as well as improving their design in response to growing consumer demand. In addition, this is another step by the company to implement the strategy of import substitution, which is carried out in cooperation with the Industrial Development Fund” – as stated by the General Director of KAMAZ: Sergei Kogogin.
“The total budget for the project amounts to 544 million rubles, 230 million rubles of which is a loan from the Industry Development Fund. The preferential financing has helped KAMAZ localise the modern production of aluminium tanks in Russia and the company now manufactures the high-quality import-substituting products independently. The project, which is important for both KAMAZ and the region, has become the 150th production process launched through the loans issued by the Fund” – said the director of Foundation for Enterprise Restructuring and Financial Institutions Development Roman Petrutsa.
The aluminium fuel tanks are used in commercial vehicles for linehaul, intercity and urban transport. The reduction in weight in comparison with steel fuel tanks, corrosion resistance and fire safety are amongst the advantages of the aluminium tanks. Thanks to the implementation of the project, Kamaz will not be importing aluminum tanks from Austria anymore.
