Venturing up to Fort Lauderdale doesn’t happen too often now that I live on South Beach and no longer own a car. But I’ll always love a visit to W Fort Lauderdale. It’s one of the best things about Fort Lauderdale. I love this beachfront property, especially since their renovation.

Their wet deck looks more luxe than ever and I’ll always love that you can see the ocean from the rooftop. The rooms feature lush views of the ocean, the wet deck, or the intercoastal. There are some seriously nice room options, promise you’ll feel very glam.

There are also new dining options, like Mexican restaurant El Vez. The third one in the US. We had a delicious little brunch there with everything you could possibly want. We didn’t indulge but they have a vast tequila section, I’ll have to come back for.

W Fort Lauderdale is definitely one of my favorite staycation spots here in SoFl. It’s great to get out of Miami every now and then ya know but sometimes you don’t always have the luxury of time to go too far. Or in my case a staycation decision happens very last minute.

You guys know that most of my off-duty days are spent in athleisure. I’m all about the cozy girl aesthetics. I recently got the opportunity to be on-duty cozy girl with the Italian brand ellesse. I love a brand that is not only focused on style but also performance and function.

I am happy to join the ellesse family as they make their way back stateside after 10+ years. ellesse has everything from everyday basics to athletic wear essentials for the real trainers out there. The semi-palla logo is a nod to the brand’s sporting heritage. Meant to blend both half of a tennis ball and the tips of two skis to blend their heritage background on the slopes and on tennis courts.

I am wearing head to toe ellesse in these shots. I love a trendy sportswear set situation. This look has a very retro 80s vibe, and I love it for running errands or heading out to the movies with friends. I love that the pants have pockets which isn’t always a given with track pants. There’s that utility in action. What do you think of my sporty look? How would you rock ellesse?

Below I’ve included some of my favorite ellesse pieces for your shopping pleasure. They’ve even got some bandana print pieces which is supposed to be a huge upcoming trend. Get ahead of the game.

I’ve been a big fan of leopard print since I can remember. I can’t believe I’m saying this but move over leopard print, it’s snake prints time to shine. Yes the snakeskin trend has definitely slithered its way into my closet. I’m more ravenous than I ever was about leopard print. Luckily, like leopard print, I don’t think it’s going anywhere anytime soon. Though I would advise you to be open to cow print (I got this on my nails mid February), zebra, tiger and croc prints as well.

How do you wear snakeskin print?

Look Breakdown

The moment I laid eyes on this Zara midi skirt with the o-ring zipper detail (another trend I love) I knew I had to have it. I got this back in September 2018 and the snakeskin momentum hasn’t slowed at all. Since then, I’ve acquired shirts, pants, shoes, you name it in the print. One of the days on my trip to Paris with Artistry Studio, I realized that almost every single look I packed included the print. My favorite being these boots for less than $100. Such a great buy and the compliments haven’t stopped.

Anyway I let the skirt and my hair make the statement for this outfit and kept everything else basic. This crop tie-front top came with a solid black tank dress that absolutely did not fit me. It was super affordable so I didn’t feel too badly, plus I bought it for the top not the dress. It is also Zara. My Maje faux fur bag feels very Autumn, so I don’t wear it too often in Miami but I love the way it goes with this skirt. Textures baby! I finalized the look with my simplest shoes, my Saint Laurent Jane Sandals. They’re chic and don’t compete with anything else for attention but somehow make the look.

Snakeskin like leopard to me falls under the neutrals category. It may come in a myriad of colors but it’s fairly understated enough to be worn with anything else. But it can also work as the statement piece to a look. If you’re afraid of color you can stick to just a black or gray based print. It’s hard to go wrong with a snake print.

Have you tried the snakeskin print trend? What’s your favorite way to wear it? Below you can check out some of my favorite pieces to get on board the train.

Over the years I’ve fully embraced the sneaker trend. I mean I can’t get enough whether I’m wearing them dressed down or up. Everyone needs a good pair of sneakers whether you’re running around town or stepping out. Shoe Carnival has an amazing selection of shoes in every style or colorway you might need. Whether you’re looking to step out or tackle that to-do list Shoe Carnival has you covered. From classics to the latest trends, there’s something for everyone.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I picked up a couple of options perfect for a date night look. I’m gonna share a blog post with that look soon, as I love the way the photos came out. I picked up some casual kicks that day as well. These, these, and these to be exact. Even though that isn’t what I was shopping for at the time, I just couldn’t help it. Their selection of brand-name casual wear really impressed me. Even better than the selection are the affordable prices. I made another visit for a couple more pairs of sneakers because why not stock up.

The store staff are always there to help if you can’t find your size or colorway but not in an overbearing way. They offered to order a pair of shoes for me once we discovered my size sold out. The store is super organized so I feared the worst when I couldn’t find it but it’s nice to know it can be ordered. I scored a lot of cool shoes and I’m so excited about each of them. I’ve linked them below (along with the sold out one) so you can shop as well. I definitely recommend finding you local Shoe Carnival (mine is in Miami Gardens) if you’re in the mood for a shoe haul. They also have great accessories like no-show socks, perfect to wear with my sneakers.

Thank you to Shoe Carnival for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

Dan and I recently experienced the lifestyle of a 1 Hotel South Beach Beach Club member. I posted a few weeks ago about staying at the 1 Hotel South Beach. As a local, the member level of access to a hotel of this caliber and its facilities can be very worthwhile. The property is stunning as you know from my last post. Conde Nast Traveler’s Best Hotels in the U.S. 2018 Readers’ Choice named the 1 Hotel South Beach #7 hotel in the U.S. and #2 in Miami. You know I wouldn’t steer you wrong.

“Beach life, hotel service”

The 1 Hotel features five-star amenities. It touts “beach life, and hotel service” as a tagline. I’ve got to say the one thing lacking about going to the beach is service. It’s most likely the Miami in me but I need the best seats and I want to be able to order drinks and food right to my chair. At the 1 Hotel, there’s 600 square feet of private beach and members get priority seating. But how’s the food you say? Well it’s farm fresh and locally sourced and as a member you get preferred pricing on food & drinks.

“I lived my best life”

I wore this Collectif x Modcloth Akiko Palm Print Jumpsuit. I felt the tropical green fit the 1 Hotel South Beach’s eco conscious back to nature vibe. I paired this with my Aerie hat and Tibi Ophelie Fringe Mules. The bohemian aesthetic fits right in with the 1 Hotel’s driftwood decor. I lived my best life in this look.

We spent the day at the members only pool in a lush cabana gazing at our ocean view. I had a bit of a phone crisis (it was dying and my portable refused to work) but they provide charging devices. I plugged my phone in, kicked my feet up and enjoyed some rose and television from the comfort of my cabana. We had such a fun day. There are tons more perks that I didn’t even experience or mention such as events, their insane gym, and more. I know one thing is a constant when I visit the 1 Hotel South Beach…I never want to leave. I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the market for a local hotel membership.

Denim goes with everything. This isn’t the first time I’ve stepped into the denim party. Because it’s hard to go wrong with a classic denim-on-denim look. Though it’s best to be smart with denim coloring. Stick to a monochrome look using denim of all the same wash, or you can be adventurous and mix jean colors. Don’t be afraid of denim. I’ve gone denim-on-denim on this blog in completely different ways more than 3 times. This one’s my personal favorite, it was Rihanna inspired after all. I wore it during New York Fashion Week.

I received these particular denim pieces from H&M. The denim is part of H&M Conscious Collection, a range of sustainable clothing. I paired the denim with a classic white tee, another “can’t go wrong” item. For me, it’s key to have classic elements like this in my closet to mix and match or wear all together with ease. I need to actually snag another pair of these jeans because I split these ones. Yup, you read that right lol. They were a gift from H&M, so I didn’t try them on before getting them, if I had I would have probably gone up a size. I was going on a trip and denim is always a good pack so I took these with me because I love the wash and feel. I was vacationing with my mom in Charleston and she was finally off from work for a full day, our last day actually. I must have been doing some acrobatic level dancing in excitement in our hotel room when I heard it rrrrip! LMAO. My saving grace, it didn’t happen in public and I had time to wear something else.

Onto accessories, this is where you can really do the most. Because the look is so simple and timeless you can go big & bold with accessories. My Sunday Somewhere sunglasses are a personal favorite. They may not be my most favorite style from the brand but they were a gift from directly from the brand. That means a lot to me! They’re one of my favorite eyewear brands. They have great designs that aren’t just what everyone else is doing at the moment and the quality is superb.

I recommended a few different denim pieces in the Shop the Look widget below. As for my Dolce Vita’s you can still get the exact Tae Motorcycle bootie at DSW. This style of bootie is a great transitional boot for changing weather. The best kind of boot for Miami winter but still wearable when the temps start to climb. I’ve recommended a few similar styles because I love this silhouette.

Have you ever gone full Canadian Tuxedo? How do you like to pair your denim?

Back in October, I partnered with Amazon + Cotton Inc to style a look with pieces from the Fashion Delivered Collection. Yes that’s right, Cotton Incorporated as in “The Fabric of Our Lives®“. Cotton’s Fashion Delivered Collection showcased at New York Fashion Week featured versatile, on-trend, and of course comfortable, cotton-rich looks.

This collection featured pieces perfect for all occasions. I had a lot of fun shopping the collection via Amazon. They had a whole splash page where visitors were able to watch screenings of the NYFW runway show and shop the looks you saw coming down the runway. I shared this via Instagram and Instagram Stories which is the best way to keep up with most folks nowadays. I’ll never ever stop loving blogs but it’s definitely quicker to share in the moment via Instagram.

Below you can check out the pieces I selected, as you can see the Endless Rose blouse is very versatile. You can dress it up or down. I wore it recently to a party with a mini skirt and it was a HIT let me tell you. I’ll have to get around to shooting it in its full glory. My favorite part of this collaboration was discovering Australian brand Acler. You know the Aussies have been killing the fashion game for awhile but I still felt blown away by Acler. I’ve included some Acler pieces I’m lusting over below as well as different colorways for my Aquazzura flats.

Joy isn’t something that finds us, it’s something we create for ourselves. It’s the little things, you can offer a smile or a compliment to stranger and turn their whole day around. Carvel makes it really easy to spread a little joy with their adorable holiday cakes. Made with premium hand-made ice cream they’re sure to bring a smile to the faces of all this season.

I myself wanted to take all three of these styles pictured home for myself, but I gifted two and I know it was appreciated. Happy holidays from myself and Team Ice Cream hehe.

Nissan invited me to test drive the new city-friendly Nissan Kicks crossover vehicle. The whole gang stayed overnight at the incomparable 1 Hotel South Beach. This is one of my favorite properties on the beach. We shared driving duties and had the best time driving around Miami. We even stopped at a local streetwear store and scored some new threads on Nissan. I didn’t take too many pictures on the road as we were driving (no instagramming and driving). But we had fun in time that allotted and that’s all that matters. Thanks so much to Nissan for this experience, come back to Miami anytime.

Last month I attended a unique gourmet dining experience with The Macallan, called The Masters Decanter Series. The Macallan is the world’s most admired single malt Scotch whisky brand. I’ve attended another The Macallan event in the past and it still such a fun memory so I know they don’t disappoint. Whenever someone is looking for a whisky recommendation, I always recommend The Macallan.

The upscale dining experience took place at Miami Supercar Rooms. The elaborate dinner was set against a backdrop of one of the most coveted car collections. The Macallan spirits paired with dinner were nothing short of divine. I love a good presentation and the dishes and whisky we’re all so unique in their own ways. I never would have thought of Vegan “Osso Buco” in my wildest dreams. Both our Venison and dessert “smoked” so it was also a feast for the eyes. In between dishes, we got the scoop from a The Macallan expert on each glass we imbibed. We got to try some delicious big deal whisky and I feel special for having been included.
Here’s a breakdown of what we tasted:

  • The Macallan Rare Cask, which starts at $300.
  • The Macallan Reflexion, which starts at $1,400.
  • The Macallan No. 6, which starts at $4,000.
  • The Macallan M, which starts at $5,000

What’s your favorite whisky cocktail? I had the Smoking Rosemary & Maple made with The Macallan Rare Cask, Maple Simple Syrup, Lemon and Burning Rosemary. Have your tried Macallan? Below I’ve included The Macallan’s I experienced along with some of my favorite whisky accessories, and what I wore that night!
