I come bearing good news, it’s Miami Spa Month (July 1st – August 31st). This is the best time of year in Miami to pamper and treat yourself because you’ll get the best deals on services duh! As you know if you saw my feature in Indulge magazine, love the Lapis Spa at Fontainebleau. It’s one of my favorite spas in Miami and I always recommend it. I wanted to share with you guys the other offerings. You’re welcome. Lapis treated me to the Ultimate Indulgence package, an extra-long Swedish-style massage and foot scrub. All spa packages come with access to the below pictured amenities and the Fontainebleau pools for the day.
I am always further mastering my out of office game and I’m honored Vilebrequin would recognize this. It’s pretty effortless when you already live in paradise–luxury hotels are around every corner here on Miami Beach. I’m always appreciating all that Miami has to offer and taking every opportunity to wind down in new locations…so, of course, I take dressing on vacation or a staycation seriously.

Vilebrequin sent over some great pieces for a weekend away, and even included a few things for my guy. In case you’re new to the brand, Vilebrequin has been making luxury swimwear from St. Tropez since 1971 so you could say they know a thing or two about how to vacation. I packed a few things in a backpack and had a whirlwind of a week: starting off in Miami Beach, of course–but going as far as Fort Lauderdale to enjoy the beaches there. I hope you like the pieces I chose; they’re all super comfortable, flattering and the best quality. I especially loved twirling around the Shore Club’s beautifully decorated terrace in my wrap skirt. I’ll link the Vilebrequin pieces I wore below…just in time for Swim Week here in Miami.
When Edition Hotels or Basement Miami (the club inside the Edition) calls you or in this case emails, you answer the call. I love the Edition property and Basement is a fun element within its walls. To be an ambassador for Basement I know is going to be super fun. First thing, how sweet are they for making us these custom Levi’s jean jackets?!

Nightclubs inside of hotels is nothing new to Miami, but they don’t all feature a bowling alley and an ice-skating rink. The technicolor bowling lanes and indoor skating rink give the place loads of personality.
I’ve been to Basement many times and danced all night long, and even bowled but I’ve never gotten on the ice. The rink reminds me of being a kid going to the roller skating rink and skating in circles all night with friends. The only new addition, I was SHOOK. I’m not the fearless kid I once was lmao. Luckily everyone is cool and helped my scared self onto the ice and nobody laughed at me. That’s the atmosphere at Basement.
The music is always bumping thanks to the best rotation of DJs. Check the website for a calendar to keep up to date on who is playing. If all that activity isn’t your thing you can slide over to the nightclub only side of things. Basement goes until 5 am so you can really get out there and do the absolute most. I have had some good times there for sure. I’ll see you on the dancefloor very soon!
I attended a brunch with Neiman Marcus Coral Gables last week to get a little preview of Camp Gorgeous. Camp Gorgeous is a special promo Neiman Marcus has to celebrate the start of summer. It’s a great chance to stock up on the best summer skin care, makeup and more.

From now ’til June 17th, with every $125 beauty purchase you’ll score a free summer tote with beauty samples. You can see the tote in the photos above. Bonus, with any $325 beauty purchase you’ll score free travel-size Hampton Sun. What else could you need this summer besides somewhere fab to travel? I’ve included a few things I’ve been wanting to pick up from the beauty counter and also my casual mall brunch look.
Hi! I have some exciting news! Well exciting for me and anyone in my immediate vicinity haha. This month I flew to Atlanta to become a Carvel Insider of sorts. I got to check out the headquarters, learn how the crunch we all love on the ice cream cake is made and more. I even got to make a batch of crunch to take home. That raised some questions from TSA at the airport but they let me slide :)
It was a small group of 3, which came as a surprise to us. Everyone uses the term “handpicked” but we actually felt it. So special! They put us up in a lovely hotel, treated us to breakfast, lunch and dinner with the team. Everyone was so friendly and you could tell that they’re all really passionate about their jobs. I loved each person, which is rare when you’re working on a campaign lol. We learned the history of Carvel (started by Tom Carvel with $15 he borrowed from his future wife!) and the day to day workings of the office. There’s so much you think you know about ice cream but don’t in reality. Like the difference between ice cream and ice milk, which shock is what a lot of establishments serve. I tried my hand at using the soft serve machine and making all sorts of different treats, I even tried to decorate a cake. Spoiler not as easy as it looks lol. I shared the whole trip on Insta stories of course so I hope you’ve been following. I’ve never gotten so many “I’m so jealous” messages in my life haha. I ate A LOT of ice cream OBVIOUSLY.
So throughout the year look out for me your friendly neighborhood Carvel fan. I’ll be eating the best treats, delivering cakes to my friends, and most of all enjoying the heck out of America’s Freshest Ice Cream.
I’m not Greek, but I got the chance to yell “OPA!” and celebrate Greek Independence Day at Atlantikós a hidden gem of The St. Regis Bal Harbour Hotel back in March. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Atlantikós promises a truly authentic greek dining experience in Miami. Greece is still on my bucket list, but Atlantikós’ decor makes me feel transported to the islands. It’s reminiscent of the bright blue and white contrasting colors of Greece of course but it’s a vibe as well.
We started the evening of with a champagne sabering ceremony. They do this ceremony frequently at The St. Regis Bal Harbour as it’s part of the history of the hotel. I’ve done a stay at this hotel before and I would recommend it if you need to stay in the Bal Harbour area. Heck even if you don’t, “just because” always works too. You can check out my two posts at the property here and here. After champagne, we made our way to Atlantikós and dined on a curated menu of high quality seafood and Greek fare. Once the food started arriving I was so immersed in good eats and conversation. Atlantikós is #EatLikeRia approved all around.
Diesel sent over a few pieces from their Pre-Spring 2018 collection. I chose all men’s pieces so I could share with my boyfriend, spoiler I’ve kept everything for myself. Such a brat lol. If you follow me on Instagram you may have gotten a peek at this outfit when I was shooting it on Insta stories. Then when I posted for Diesel’s hashtag #saynotouncoolwool
Making menswear work for me means pairing the pieces with feminine ones. Whenever I wear this Diesel J-West bomber jacket, I wear it with a slinky dress (seen here) or itty-bitty shorts. This is also due to the oversized nature of the jacket. The smaller items to me pair best with the oversized fit of this jacket.
This Reformation dress I picked up in Soho, New York City to wear to a party I never made it to. Mess of an evening but I scored a great dress I’ve worn a bunch out of it so who can be mad…anymore. I wanted it so badly I’m bought it a size up because they didn’t have my size. Should have known right there what kind of night it was gonna be haha.
The Dolce Vita boots you may remember from my October round up. They’re still a favorite and I’ll be sad to see them go as the weather continues to warm up. When winter comes around again, you can definitely expect to see them making the rounds. They’re just so comfortable, I can’t help but where them every chance I get.
Anyway check out some other pieces I’m loving from Diesel below in addition to shopping this look.
Introducing my new favorite Miami based brand. Daniro Studio works with locally-sourced materials and a group of South African designers. I love the style and craftsmanship of the designs and the price points. The pieces crafted by South African women aim to promote jobs in disadvantaged communities in South Africa.
If you click through to the product page for the Mbali top, you’ll see it’s folded a bit different than mine. I love that this top can get reshaped and become sort of new. You’ll get loads of compliments on this piece no matter how you shape it.
I worked with a new photographer on this shoot. It’s a bit more editorial and edited. What do you think? I love shooting highly stylized content like this and missed it a lot. Daniel is from Brazil and is very very good at what he does, so definitely check him out.

The last year or so has been a pretty interesting one as far as travel to the U.S. is concerned. To sum things up, international tourism around the world is booming – but not to the U.S. Through the first seven months of 2017, U.S. tourism fell by four percent (a bigger number than it sounds like when you consider the astronomical economic impact of tourism), and there’s no real indication things are ticking up just yet.
People will debate to no end the cause of this lull. But regardless of your personal political opinions it’s fair to say the new presidential administration has some sway over things. President Trump and his political allies have established an “America First” isolationist policy agenda that in numerous ways may have made the U.S. less appealing to international travelers. This explains at least to some degree why U.S. visits are in a lull despite international tourism being up. But if you’re an American wondering about local tourism, or you’re from outside the U.S. and looking to visit, there’s reason to be optimistic looking ahead.
The easy thing would be to suggest that in 2020 Trump could be voted out of office and, depending on the new president’s agenda, interest in the U.S. could tick up naturally. Even beyond the politics though there are actually some very sound reasons to expect a U.S. tourism boom in the 2020s. We’ll go over a few of them here.
No one can forecast economic conditions with certainty. A shift in the U.S. congress later this year could result in altered economic policy, for instance, and an unforeseen market crash can always change the landscape dramatically. That said, some forecasts for the near future indicate a financial situation that could set up tourism beautifully. Basically, the U.S. economy is expected to thrive for another year or two (making the country more appealing in general), with growth and economic performance tapering off by 2020. That basically means the country is set up to grow and advance, but then start becoming a little bit cheaper – a perfect combination for prospective 2020s tourists.
Looming Casino Activity
Right now some interesting things are happening on the real money gaming front in the U.S. There’s a major push for legalized sports betting, led in part by the NBA. And at this point, even the CEO of MGM is confident the Supreme Court will legalize sports betting, setting up widespread gaming activity. This could then pave the way for more open-minded gaming legislation, which means there’s some potential for heightened casino activity throughout the U.S. If this happens in the coming years, it will simply mean more attractions for tourists to enjoy – and specifically attractions they’ve never really associated with the U.S. before (beyond Vegas).
A World Cup Bid
The U.S. has also put in a bid for the 2026 World Cup, alongside Canada and Mexico. Joint bids aren’t particularly popular these days, and for what it’s worth (probably not much), ex-FIFA president Sepp Blatter recently endorsed Morocco over the North American countries. But many see the U.S. as the favorite for the bid, which would mean one of the biggest events in the world is coming to America in the middle of the 2020s. The build-up to the tournament, and the games themselves, would be major tourism boons.
Finally, the politics are worth considering as well. We don’t want to make it the main focus here, but it’s a simple fact that a new administration could be in place by 2020, and definitely will be by 2024. If indeed the policies and rhetoric of the current administration are deterring tourism, that effect could disappear in a matter of years and allow for a naturally return to normalcy.
I love discovering new brands and products and I love getting mail! I’m so lucky as a blogger to be able to receive new products in the mail on a regular basis. After I share these brands on my Instagram stories, I’ll post them here. That way you can always come back to the post later on if you can’t remember the brand from my story. We love evergreen content over here, so let’s get into this blogger mail!
I will try to post these monthly and during the month. If I receive new packages after the post has already gone up I will add them in. I’m way behind (like months) so bear with me, I’ve been moving/in a state of flux and haven’t had much time for roundups.
I went to a cocktail party for an exclusive tasting of Rémy Martin’s Carte Blanche Merpins at the Faena Hotel Presidential Suite. The limited edition blend was selected by Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau and has intense aromas of gingerbread notes, candied fruits, delicate notes of plums and a smooth finish on the palate with a spicy kick. Carte Blanche Merpins will be available nationwide for $500 a bottle starting this month. The event co-hosted by Vintage Frames designer, Corey Shapiro, showcased some special limited-edition glasses in the spirit of Carte Blanche. I was gifted a pair at the party and I’m obsessed. You guys know I can’t resist a good pair of sunglasses.
I received this from Influenster and I didn’t think too much of it while I was applying it. Kind of disliked that it was a two step process. Then I washed it off. WOW. My face is so incredibly soft. This blew me away completely. Very much worth the $100 price tag.
I received this a few months back but had braids at the time. So I couldn’t use it for the longest time. This is another product I didn’t think much of upon receipt but ended up falling in love. If you have curly or natural hair this baby is perfect. It hangs in the shower and really works wonders on the detangling battle.
Dolce Vita Harmony Floral Leather Studded Flats
These are my go to day to day flats. My only regret when I picked them up on Express is that I didn’t also get them in black. I wear them a lot! They’re so comfortable yet also eye catching and stylish. I get compliments on them from men and women alike.
I purchased these FENTY slides with a gift card I received from SIX:02. A lot of people compliment me on them but also a lot of people think that they are representing Florida University and not Fenty University lmao. They’re really comfortable and I mostly just wear them around the house, my apartment etc. Score them on sale here!
Elemis body and a gorgeous candle it doesn’t get better. This was a great little Christmas treat from my friends at Elemis. My boyfriend and I are obsessed with their products. Check out our little bedroom candle collection we’ve got going here.
Our favorite has to be the candle I received from Hotel Sanders in Copenhagen. Every time we light that baby I’m transported back to my amazing stay in Denmark and the scent of the hotel. The La Centrale candle from the new food hall in Brickell City Centre is pretty great too.
I love getting collections like these! Smashbox really hooked it up with these liquid lipsticks. They stay put (they promis eight-hour color) and the pigments are rich. I haven’t tried them all yet but I’ve been steadily working my way through the box over the past few months.
This is one of my favorite additions to my bar cart. I’m very enthralled with the history and method of the making of Mezcal. The origin of Mezcal has a myth. It is said that a lightning bolt struck an agave plant, cooking and opening it, releasing its juice. For this reason, the liquid is called the “elixir of the gods”. The branding and packaging of Gem & Bolt is also so on point. Check out the story behind the brand (really good vibes) and mezcal here.
Speaking of alcohol, I got this KILLER bar cart from Target using WikiBuy. This was my first experience using WikiBuy. I’ve been continuously using it since then. It’s one of those extensions for your browser that remind you there’s money to be saved. They bill it as “Waze for shopping” if you don’t use Waze to drive I know you don’t love yourself. Bascically if you’re shopping, wikibuy will let you know if there’s a coupon to be used rather than searching around for one. It all updates in real time and it’s just super handy. You can also get credit back if you’re shopping on certain popular sites. There’s really no reason not to have this app. You receive the items just as you normally would if you weren’t using WikiBuy but you know you got the best price out there. They call that a win win.
There was honestly so much more stuff I’ve receieved but I cannot keep trying to play catch up so I just need to get this out. Will continue roundups as stuff comes in. Hoping to stay on track now that I’m settled, but I did just get a puppy (such a handful) so no promises lol.
