Hello friends! I hope you all are having a great week so far!! I wanted to mention that I found these gorgeous Mango blazer on sale the other day (that I’m absolutely obsessed with!!) and have been wearing it non stop ever since I got it. I’m wearing a size M and trousers a size 12 a bit to big but fine because I don’t like to tight trousers, if you know what I mean.
I also want to touch on these sandals, because they’re an EmuAustralia find. I was on the hunt for a good nude cream pair and came across these cuties. Y’all they’re under £70 and are SO good! I’m so impressed with the quality. They come in a few colours such as brown and black.
And for the last thing on the list today, is this sexy wrap top by Lorna Luxe for InTheStyle webshop, omg I seriously love this top so much is sexy but sophisticated at the same time I just love it <3 is my favourite summer crop top until now hehe.
I hope you all have a great rest of your Thursday!
Hello my lovelies and happy MONDAY!! The weather has been miserable this all week in Newcastle, that I haven’t even had the opportunity to be able to shoot any looks but got so much content that need to be posted.
Today I’m excited to be sharing one of a kind dress I’ve ever worn! from the brand Satya Selection their garments are made sustainably from high quality natural fibres, and their aim is to promote suistanable fashion by demonstrating their commitments to making eco friendly, ethically made garments that will stand the test of time. this dress is made of organic cotton. This dress paired with a pair of white heels mades the difference are pretty much the most perfect match ever. I wore this dress over on my IG stories a few weeks back and received so. many. messages. asking about it! I’m not surprised, because it’s one of a kind dress and love that the dress is made by natural fibres.
The details are practically perfect! from the waist to the details on the back. It’s such a feminine piece that’s perfect for all things summer.
Every year I try to express as well as I can how overwhelmed I am to reach another year together, I can barely believe it has been 8 years since I wrote my first post on Preppy Fashionist, where all started as a hobby and my love for photography. So many things have changed since then, but the essence has always been the same. There are so many plans, so many things I want to do and this blog – my baby-, that’s how I call it has given me a world of opportunities, which I will be forever grateful for.
Every year I said the same but will say this again, because I can’t ever thank you enough for supporting me, for being so positive and loving when you comment on every post, by following my story not only here, but on Social Media as well specially instagram. Sometimes I get so shocked and it warms my heart when I get private messages form you, mentioning periods of my life, or specific situations you remember clearly. It makes me feel connected to you in some way, because I know that you are there and I somehow have the fortune to have made thousands and thousands of friends who follow my journey. Never believe that I take your visits and comments for granted, because they still mean the world to me, every single one of them.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! And Happy 8th Birthday to Preppy Fashionist!!!
Hello my lovelies happy Thursday!!! I hope you all are having a great week so far. I’m thinking all things bright and sunny with today’s look.
I’m so excited to be sharing the details on this sexy vinyl trousers with you all today. It’s no secret that I LOVE a good pair of black trousers. So much that I probably have more black jeans/trousers than any other colour in my closet. I have also been living in this green blazer since the day I got it, on discount more then half price . I know that I’ll continue wearing the leggings and blazer as the weather is slowly warming up even more. For now on blazers will do. Vinyl trousers are such an easy piece to style. They really don’t require too much thought and are such a good throw-on-and-go option. This one is everything my vinyl leggings dreams are made of haha! You can easily casual this one down with some flat sandals or mules and dress it up with block heels, as I have it here. I love to style leopard print garments with green and black and gold accessories!
Hello my lovelies and happy Saturday!!! I hope you all are having a great week so far. I don’t know about you all, but some weeks feel like they just drag on, and others seem to fly by! This week has been a fly by week for me, basically every week feels like that for me probably because of so much going on. I feel like I’ve blinked and it’s Saturday. Good things are finally happening in my life and I couldn’t be any happier, I feel like after everything I went through god is rewarding me in an amazing way and I’m so grateful for that <3.
But goodness have I been slacking on posting this last month, so I was determined to get a post up today! I try to update my instagram more often even though if I don’t update my blog over here. I’m sharing one of my favourite one shoulder jumpsuit of all time, by FemmeLuxeFinery. I wore this dress for a night out with my friend Adam, he finally came up north to visit me, I was over the moon we had the best time ;D I have never own such flattering and fabulous jumpsuit before my body looks just wow I love it ;D and fell in love with it the second I tried it on. I feel like when in doubt of what to wear to an event or night out, a jumpsuit is always a safe option. You can’t go wrong with a jumpsuit. This jumpsuit runs true to size I’m wearing a size M, I need to go back to the gym ASAP and be a size S again it must be age and my lack of exercising are not helping at all ;(
I’m heading to the Cathedral tonight to see Hamlet, thanks to the late show in Newcastle I finally going to experience this. I remember booking tickets to see it in Amsterdam was so excited for months and got sick on that day and never had the opportunity to see this famous Shakespeare play again ;(
Have a lovely Weekend you all!!!

Happy Friday my lovelies, I’m so so SO excited for today’s post, because it involves several things I just love: I wore this gorgeous colour block sweater by LongTallSally and these heels by ModainPelle that I don’t get tired of wearing them. Today I’m sharing the second look we shot during our vacation in Glasgow. One of my favourite streets to walk through while in Glasgow is Merchant city. Some of the prettiest sights to see are the amazing architecture that is around that area. This is where we stopped to take some photos. I rarely see myself wearing a all black look, but even though I was wearing mostly black I add the pop of colour with this sweater and yellow beret that I got in Christmas hehe, I feel that the dramatic high cut top line of these ankle boots draws the eye down, making your legs look even longer don’t you guys agree? Well, that’s about it for today! I hope y’all have a good weekend ahead. Thanks for stopping by! Love, Virgit What I Was Wearing: Beret: RiverIsland but similar HERE Sunglasses: Celine Coat: Numph old but similar HERE Jumper: Longtallsally Leggings: H&M old but similarHERE Heels: ModainPelle Belt bag: RiverIsland
I’d been planning the boy birthday for a long time, and didn’t know where to go then I heard he would had love to go to York, then was when I decided to look for one of the best hotels in York, The principal of York that has been renovated a few years ago, the boy told me it use to be another hotel there but The Principal York took over and the renovated to the hotel that it is now. So we decided to go for a weekend away for his birthday. After obsessing over the room, we dumped our stuff and headed out into the city. We wandered along the cobbled streets, and had a walk around the famous wall, stopping in shops to have a quick browse. And Dave got some leather gloves at M&S as it was freezing that day. Careering past York Minster, we then headed back to the hotel to make the most of the facilities. Once we’d finished our dinner at the Refectory Kitchen and Terrace we went back to the room to relax. Sometimes you just need to switch off from the everyday life and be totally taken care of.
Dave told me that the hotel was close to the railway station, but I couldn’t believe it at all when I actually arrived there that it was literally just next to the station, so we hardly walk is just amazing to have it so close and close to the city centre too I would say around 8 minutes walk, is ideal for everyone arriving by train to York like us. The good thing is that the Principal Of York offers free parking available for guests, so next time we might take the car.
Images do not do this place justice, for me, it really was a place you had to experience. From the smooth woodwork that wound around the central stairway. The architecture from the hotel is one to admire.
The hotel was renovated tree years ago,the owners have retained all of the building’s original architecture and charm while modernising the rooms.
We arrived one hour early so waited at the Chapter house bar for a few drinks, before we could check in at our room.
The atmosphere: The hotel has a lovely laid back feel which you sometimes don’t get with luxury venues. The hotel has a lovely garden room and lobby area with cosy sofas that encourage you to sit back and relax.
We stayed in a king deluxe room on the first floor not to mention that their staircase to the first floor are mind blowing, it felt like I was in a mansion. The rooms at The Principal are sumptuously furnished to the highest standard. The bed was an enormous king-size, made all the more comfy with the generous pile of pillows, cushions and delicately soft sheets.
Because we went on the 1st of February they had this ice trail festival going on in York.
*Marble shower * There are cute little touches dotted around every room from the Elemis toiletries to the tuck box packed with complimentary snacks, and even got refill the day after on our second day, to the bottles of water we were given upon check out for our journey home, you definitely feel as though you get your moneys worth here.
On our first day we had a walk around the city and the famous York minster, but unfortunately my batteries of my phone die and couldn’t make more pictures of the city ;(
I love the interior design at the hotel, this is the outfit I wore that night to celebrate Dave birthday, we head over to the chapter house to get some drinks, as we didn’t know if to go out to the city centre for some food or to stayed at the hotel, because it was snowing outside so we decided to stayed in but because I didn’t reserve on time we had to wait an hour until we could get a table at the Refectory Kitchen and Terrace restaurant in the hotel.
The service at the restaurant was slow but worth the wait, it was very busy as well I ordered pork belly, celeriac, carrot and ginger purée, pickled cabbage, crackling it was so delightful and Dave had pheasant as a main course and as dessert I had a pannacota and Dave had a cheesecake.
The next day I surprised Dave with a lovely traditional afternoon tea at the Garden Room I had a few options to go out and have a delightful afternoon tea at Betty’s or at the hotel so I decided to be at the hotel because why not, I needed to treat the boyfriend hehe
However, I do find the setting of the Garden Room and the view overlooking the gardens to have made the whole afternoon quite enjoyable. If you’re someone who likes afternoon tea, this will probably be your second favourite place in York (after Betty’s of course).
The afternoon tea was £23.50 per person which includes
Cauliflower and celeriac soup
Smoked haddock, chive and potato salad on sourdough Beetroot and brie muffin
Coronation chicken sandwich Cheese and chutney sandwich
Scones: plain | lemon and poppy seed | raisin served with clotted cream and jam
Chocolate orange cake
Caramelised Bramley apple choux
Passion fruit curd meringue tart
The Garden sweet chefs’ favourite cake
We went there at around 13:00 o’clock and believe it or not we stayed in for almost three hours, it was around 16:00 o clock when we were done with our afternoon tea, we enjoyed so much ;D but because it was a Saturday we couldn’t go out and do other activities because the museums we wanted to visit they closes at 17:00pm ;( so we went back to the room and enjoy the facilities from the hotel ;).
On our last day we also made use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi very early in the morning before we check out at 11:00 am, the opening hours for the swimming pool was from 07:00 am on some days, Such a treat! Everything at the Principal felt like a necessary indulgence, a slice of sleek, accessible luxury.
If you ever find yourself in York, I would highly recommend staying at the Principal. The location is excellent as it’s right next to the train station and just a 8-minute walk to town!
So to sum up any negative about the hotel was when we order room service at night because we didn’t wanted to go out , I order our dinner at 20:00 but it was 21:30 and dinner wasn’t delivered yet, then I rang again and they told us that they had forgotten about us, but that our dinner will be free of charge, I was disappointed about it that it wasn’t delivered on time but the hotel made it up to us by not charging us, and these is what I called a good customer service, and definitely we will be coming back.
They also have two other hotels, in Manchester and Edinburgh! I have stayed at the one in Manchester before and it didn’t disappointed me at all, I will need to go to the one in Edinburgh sometime soon ;D
Have you stayed at the Principal of York?
I also made a vlog about my stayed be free to check it out.
