There's a TV For Every Outdoor Setup

If you are anything like us, we like to enjoy as much time outdoors as we can here in Indiana. Since the majority of our time has been spent indoors the past 4-5 months, one additional way to take advantage of our nice Springtime weather is to move your entertaining outdoors as well. You can accomplish that by having us design an optimal viewing area for a SunBrite outdoor television.

Based on your surroundings and the amount of sunlight your space receives, we will specify the best television option for you. Our outdoor TVs are specifically designed to handle rain, snow, dust, insects, humidity and extreme temperatures. They are engineered for safe, permanent outdoor installation. Indoor TVs are made for climate controlled interiors, and their manuals warn against outdoor use due to potentially dangerous consequences. Also, SunBrite TVs offer from 30% up to 3 times higher brightness, reduced glare, and a sharper picture than typical indoor TVs. This provides an ideal viewing experience in bright outdoor environments.

Since every patio is different, we have 3 viewing solutions depending on the amount of sun your space will receive.

Veranda Series: This unit is built for full shaded areas. It is up to 50% brighter than an indoor TV to compensate for the ambient light outdoors. It is also 4K Ultra HD, so you can expect a great picture!

Signature Series: This is an ideal model for areas with partial sun. It offers a picture up to 3 times brighter than an indoor TV, and also displays in 4K Ultra HD.

Pro Series: When you assumed in the past that your un-shaded outdoor space wouldn’t be an optimal place for a TV because you didn’t think you’d be able to see the picture, we now have an answer for you. The Pro Series has been proven to work in full sun spaces, while simultaneously being fully exposed to the weather elements. The screen is impact-resistant as well as anti-glare with over 3 times the brightness of an indoor TV.

Lets add to your outdoor entertaining plan by choosing the perfect TV for you! Contact us at 317-580-1032 to setup a private consultation in our state-of-the-art showroom inside the Indiana Design Center. We look forward to earning your business and making your space one-of-a-kind.

Choosing the Best Outdoor Audio

Now that Spring weather has finally arrived in the midwest, we are all anxious to spend our free time outdoors. It also is the time where we find ourselves making our outdoor to-do lists including Spring clean-up and home renovation projects. We’ve got one suggestion for you, and that is to consider installing a quality outdoor audio system!

How do you currently enjoy music outdoors? Do you have an old, unreliable, audio system that either barely still works or it fails to function? Or do you carry around a portable bluetooth speaker? Regardless of what category you fall under, let us work with you to design a better, balanced audio experience in your backyard. Rather than having to compete to talk over the speaker sitting on the table, a well-designed outdoor system will provide you with even coverage throughout your entire outdoor living space. No longer will you have to quickly adjust the volume to have a conversation. Evenly dispersed sound also gives you a broader tonal range; something your $49 portable speaker just isn’t capable of.

We can design an outdoor audio system to stand on it’s own, controlled by an app on your mobile device. However, we can easily design it to integrate into your home’s control system if that is an option for you. The ease of using the same, single app that controls your entire home, can now also control the sound in your outdoor space.

There are a number of great choices based on your performance and aesthetic desires, but one really great solution for outdoor music is from Sonance. They offer three systems that all combine elements of satellite speakers and in-ground subwoofers for an award winning and enveloping audio experience in your outdoor space.

Sonarray: This product is an excellent choice for a small patio up to 1,500 sq ft.

Garden Series: The Garden Series system is the optimal choice for larger patios up to 3,500 sq ft and expandable.

Sonance Landscape Series: Offering a completely customized list of options, the Sonance Landscape Series is the right choice for a customer with the highest expectations for outdoor audio.

To get the ball rolling, contact us at 317-580-1032 to setup a private consultation in our state-of-the-art showroom inside the Indiana Design Center. We look forward to earning your business and making your space one-of-a-kind.

Take a Tour of One of Our Latest Home Theater Designs

We approach each home theater project with a clean slate. Based on a number of different conversations we will have with the homeowners, we’ll put together an initial room design that factors in their budget, aesthetics and expectations on the performance of the audio and visual components. Some clients might expect a simple screen and projector setup, while others prioritize a truly dedicated room for their theater, complete with theater seating, acoustic treatments, and the most immersive entertainment experience that money can buy.

In upcoming blog posts, we will feature different home theaters that fall within varying price points to help grow your “ideabook.” The photos shown in this post demonstrate a high-performance theater that doesn’t cut any corners. We worked in tandem with interior designer, Julie O’Brien Design Group, to assist in specifying a variety of materials and finishes that met her design goals as well as the homeowners’. From the custom acoustic wall panels, to the acoustically transparent approach to in-wall speakers, the motorized leather theater seating, and the 3D fiber optic starry sky, this space separates our homeowners completely from the outside world. Combine all of that with the following equipment, and we helped build a home theater that beats going out to a commercial movie theater any day!:

-Sony 4K Ultra HD Projector

-Screen Innovations Zero Edge Projection Screen with Acoustically Transparent Screen and LED Backlight

-Sonance Cinema Reference Speakers with Dual i10 Subwoofers

-11 Channel Dolby Atmos Speaker Configuration (7.2.4)

-Anthem Surround Receiver with Dolby Atmos & Anthem Room Correction

This theater project was a part of a larger solution that we provided the client, who incorporated smart home technology to control motorized shades, lighting automation, distributed audio, security and networking throughout the rest of their home. Therefore, the theater features a Control4 controller and can easily be operated from a simple wireless remote, or from any of their wireless mobile devices that all utilize the same easy-to-use Control4 app.

The WSJ Features Premier for Outstanding Media Room Design

It is a tremendous honor to be featured on the front page of the The Wall Street Journal "Mansion” section for our technology design in this magnificent home!

“Before moving in June 2017, the couple asked The Premier Group, based in Carmel, Indiana, to install a smart home system, and not one but two media rooms. The main living space features an 85-inch, ultra high-definition, anti-glare television and a theater-quality audio system, with powerful speakers and subwoofers hidden in the walls and ceiling."

Our clients allowed us to do our best work in their luxury home, and we are extremely grateful for the opportunity. Of equal importance, we would like to thank our design and trade partners who unselfishly collaborated to make sure this home was finished with the highest of quality craftsmanship. (Builder: Dan Elliott, Architectural Designer: Gary Nance Design, Interior Designer: Brandy Ketterer Design Co., Control System: Control4, Stone: Santarossa, Steel Finish/Fabricators: Centerline Studio).

A Well Designed Media Room for Entertaining

While the idea of a personal home theater isn’t going anywhere, many homeowners are now incorporating Media Rooms into their home design as the growing concept of open floor plans remains at the top of homeowners’ priority list. Perhaps allocating the square footage or putting dollars aside for a dedicated home theater just aren’t possible, however the importance of great audio and visual in a space is highly important for entertaining or your own family’s enjoyment.

By definition, the term “Media Room” has evolved into a generic definition for a multipurpose space that is outfitted with a large flat-screen television, surround sound and cozy seating. Most recently, a Media Room is more than that—it is a social and immersive experience. We enjoy the opportunity to take our clients’ expectations, and exceed them with specifying equipment that takes their viewing experience to another level. In addition, we take great pride in protecting the interior designer’s and/or architect’s vision with design-forward installations that make the equipment appear as a natural part of the entire design aesthetic.

A few examples of custom installs to beautifully blend the interiors with the audio visual components include:

1) Recessing the televisions into the feature walls

2) Creating custom pieces like a motorized art lift to cover the television when not in use

3) Designing custom sound bars to better fit the exact dimensions of the television

4) Specifying grills for the in-wall and in-ceiling speakers that perfectly match paint color or that are flush to the walls and ceiling for a cleaner installation

As you plan for your home remodeling project, or as you start the design-build process for your new home, make sure to contact us to setup a private consultation in our state-of-the-art showroom, located inside the Indiana Design Center. We value the opportunity to show you examples of all of the options that you have!

Jarred Bunch Wealth Management Creating New Work Vibes

A local Indianapolis wealth management firm, Jarred Bunch Consulting, has taken “office culture” to new heights with modern interior and technology designs. We first met Owner & CEO, Scott Jarred, as a residential client. When it was time to plan his new office space, we were thankful for the opportunity to work for Scott again, but this time on a commercial project. We are thrilled with the outcome of their new headquarters featuring a complete renovation of a space formally known as Morty’s Comedy Joint on E 96th Street.

Making sure not to fall victim to the boring, drab office space, Jarred Bunch allowed us to outfit the space featuring a 12ft wide video wall that will stun anyone that enters their lobby. It’s larger-than-life scale helps set the tone for a non-traditional workplace environment catering to comfort, mixed-use common spaces, and entertaining.

Did we mention yet that we designed a custom, high-definition golf simulator in their training room?! Yeah, you read that correctly; a golf simulator in their training room. It is not only an added benefit now to employees who want to get a round of 18 in at some point during the day, but it can also act as a way of entertaining friends and clients. It has proven to be more than just an expense line item on the construction budget sheet—it has been an investment in the culture that they’ve created at Jarred Bunch headquarters. The complete technology package that we designed includes:

-Motorized Shades throughout the entire space
-Audio Distribution
-Video Distribution
-Network & Wifi Implementation and Remote Management
-Security and Access Control
-Camera Surveillance
-Climate Control
-3x3 Sony 4K video wall
-Custom Golf Simulator
-Total Integration & Automation with Control4 from 10” Touch Screens and a single, simple Mobile App

Indiana's Preferred Home Theater Designer & Installer

Wouldn’t it be great to have a space within your own home that felt like an “escape?” A place where you could turn-off the outside world and live in the moment? And what if the experience was so real that you felt like you were living inside the program that you were watching. If what we’re describing sounds like something you want to explore, then we would like to talk with you about your own personal home theater!.

Home theaters come in all price ranges based on the quality and size of picture you desire, the audio experience you want, and all of the bells and whistles that are offered which can include a starry night fiber optic ceiling, theater chairs, media room sofas and acoustic treatments, just to name a few. If you are looking to turn an existing space into a home theater, perfect for movie night, watching your favorite sporting event, gaming and entertaining, then a simple call to us will get one of our experienced designers to your house to take some measurements, to listen to what your wishes and desires are, and to begin to explore your dream home theater. Working within your budget, our process includes a conceptual design of the room, product specifications and a turnkey estimate that includes installation and sales tax so there are no surprises. If you are planning a home theater for a new construction project, then we can setup a private consultation with you to review your blueprints and provide you with the same process of design, specification and turnkey estimating.

We are really proud of this recently completed home theater as just one example. This home was a new construction project, so we were able to plan the room with the client using a blank slate. The space compliments the clean interior design elements of the home, but also adds its own unique flair for a one-of-a-kind experience in the comforts of their own home. After learning their budget and how they planned to use the space, this room features the following:

11-Channel Dolby Atmos Surround Sound Audio System - audio “objects” are placed precisely within the room as they appear on the screen, providing an unbelievably immersive audio experience from a Sony 11-Channel ES receiver and Sonance Loudspeakers

138” Stewart Filmscreen Studiotek 130 Projection Screen - movies fill the entire Widescreen format screen (2.35:1 aspect ratio) without those annoying black bars on the top and bottom

Sony VPL-VW385ES 4K Ultra HD Projector with Aspect Ratio Control

Sony 4K Ultra HD Bluray Player

Apple TV with HDR and Dolby Atmos support

Acoustic Innovations Hexagonal Wallscape Acoustic Panels

This theater project was a part of a larger solution that we provided the client who incorporated smart home technology to control motorized shades, lighting automation, distributed audio, security and networking. Therefore, the theater features a Control4 controller and can easily be operated with their Control4 remote, or any of their wireless mobile devices from the same easy-to-use Control4 mobile app.
