I thought I would catch up on some sharing of projects that I haven't posted to the blog during my "hiatus" that I took.  This one is from a Lawn Fawn and Therm O Web team up quite a while ago, but since it's July...and it's a Christmas themed project, I figured what the heck let's share it!

I love the little star dies from Lawn Fawn and when I saw the stamp set of the bears looking up toward the sky, this project just popped into my head.  I had just enough of that polka dotted burlap ribbon to create a fun banner to hang all the stars on.

Confession, I HATE making shakers.  Ok, I said it!  I LOVE the way they look, but I seem to make them a lot more difficult than they need to be.  So, I am not sure why I chose to create THREE of them for this project, but that's how my little ole brain works!  If you want to see all my step outs for this project, you can check out my post on the Therm O Web blog HERE.

All images were colored with Zig Clean Color markers on Bristol paper.  The bears took a couple of tries, because Zigs were (cough cough are) fairly new to me, as is most coloring.

I used a white Signo gel pen for the "snow" effect on the trees.  Lots of Martha Stewart glitter went into that first and third shaker to create snow!

Stay tuned, I have a few more Christmas themed projects that I have done for Therm O Web that I haven't shared here yet, so we may make this "Christmas in July" a thing here on the blog this month.

Supplies
Here is a list of the supplies I used that are available from Scrapbook.com, Therm O Web and Blick.  If you purchase thru my links, which is no cost to you, it will help me to keep my content fresh and current. I would love the support if you feel like shopping!!  (You can see my disclosure statement here).  And the dogs would love it, because they might get a few more treats!

I always am so excited when Therm O Web teams up with Waffle Flower Crafts!  Waffle Flower is by far one of my FAVORITE stamp and die companies.  And a lot of the stamp designs are perfect for watercolor!

I used a lot of different techniques, some of them for the first time on this layout.  I will be using a lot of them again!

I watercolored, foiled, heat embossed, die cut, ink blended, stamped, flocked and embellished my little heart out on this.  Once I started, I was having so much fun, I couldn't quit!

Monotone grey and pink blooms??  Yes please!   The grey magnolias were created with basically one color by layering and changing color values with the watercolor.  There is a different shade added in to make the centers darker, but this was fun to experiment with.

I am always a sucker for the Champagne Deco Foil transfer sheets and I thought they added just the elegant touch to the Tile Die Panel from Waffle Flower for the layout.  I used two of the die cut panels and they were the perfect size for what I wanted to do.  I plan on doing this more, because you can always cover the seams (or leave them, I am good with that!) and get more out of your dies.

And see the white and pink embossed stem?  Yep, die cut that stem out of the matching dies for the XOXO set with the Deco Foil toner sheets, foil in your color of choice (mine was Pink Quartz) and then stamp with Versamark Ink and heat embossing on top of that foil.  I have a tip for shape dies (like the heart) to help you get the most of your nesting dies for you projects.  Check out my video at the end of this post!

And here is the process video I made for the Therm O Web YouTube channel.  Feel free to leave questions in the comments if you have them!!  I would love for you to give the video a "thumbs up" if you learn anything or just love it!

Is anyone feeling a little slothy today?  I know I am!  The Monday after a holiday weekend is the worst! We keep the 4th of July low-key, mainly because of the dogs.  Plus, we have a neighborhood that insists on shooting fireworks even though they are illegal inside the city limits!  The houses are close together and it could spell disaster if one landed wrong.

I went all kinds of crazy with Deco Foil Flock and Metallix Gel.  I decided to combine the two on the same stencil and I was quite happy with the way it turned out.

And confession....the sloth that is interacting with us in the pictures is a male named Scarface!  The females were hanging out in a corner at the top of the room and keeping tabs on a two week old baby.  SO CUTE, I need to scrap the pictures of the baby also!!  And then we heard the next week that the other female had a surprise baby!  No wonder they were being shy and just keeping back.

All of the watercolor paintings that I have been seeing inspired my flower crowned sloth!  The cut file (from Silhouette) has a flower crown with it, but it was easier just to use the die cuts in the collection to fill in that crown.

I am crushing on the Metallix Gel mixed over the Flock!  It did take some planning and patience, but usually those projects are worth it!

I added the inky scribble around the page at the last minute and I feel like it ties the entire page together!  And I HAD to use those Heffy Doodle Journaling Strip dies again!  They are too perfect not to.  I am going to have to find a place to keep my manual die cutting machine out so that it's easy to use.

I shared this layout over on the Therm O Web blog a couple of weeks ago and you can see that full post with step out pictures HERE.  Try mixing the Metallix Gel and Flock!!!  It's so fun.

I will now be listing supplies at the end of my posts, with affiliate links.  I have ALWAYS listed my supplies before and that is not going to change.  But it is work to keep track of them.  These links will take you to where you can purchase the same products I used in my projects. By clicking on the link, I am paid a small compensation.  If you want to shop and click on the link, there is NO cost to you at all and you might even discover a sale or two!

Hey hey!!!  I thought I would share my layout that did for Therm O Web a couple of weeks ago for our swap with Heffy Doodle Stamps.

This layout came together rather quickly and especially for trying things I haven't done or don't normally do for a layout!  I did some "reverse stamping" on clear acetate by stamping once with Stazon Ink and then flipping the acetate over and stamping the image again.

And I had some fun with some Distress Oxide Sprays and the White Latte Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets on my die cut title.

I practiced my watercoloring skills (or lack of!  LOL) on the corgi stamped images.  Note:  These stamps are Pembroke Corgis and Pembroke Corgis do not come in these colors that I used!  I colored them to match our Cardigan Corgis, which come in more colors and have tails.

I used a little Deco Foil Metallix in White Pearl and Pewter on a couple of different heart stencils and then just cut those out by hand to make some embellishments to tuck in the flowers.

And finally, I used the Deco Foil Adhesive Pen to add some gold touches to my journaling strips.  I am going to have to use that adhesive pen more, I forget that it's quick and easy to add touches of foiling here and there!

If you would like to see step out photos on how I did the layout and closeups you can see all of those on the Therm O Web blog HERE.   Thanks for stopping by today!!!  I appreciate it very much!

And I have changed things up here on the blog, I will now be listing supplies at the end of my posts, with affiliate links.  These links will take you to where you can purchase the same products I used in my projects. Yep...where have I been?  It has been a good 10 months since I blogged here on the little ole page.  I don't know if anyone even still reads this!  LOL

If you have popped on here, you saw the post about Ella.  That's a lot of it, but the last three years have had me in not a good place creatively and mentally.  Some people seem to be able to create to release the stress, I on the other hand, am the exact opposite.  I found that I shut down when things are going on and all of the creative side of me leaves.  It's not because I don't want to create, I just cannot seem to.

So this is what I felt like creative wise for awhile...belly up and just too tired to even try.  Not that I didn't want to...but because I was tired.FYI I do NOT have belly hair like Jetson here!  But read on, because there is more....

The only team I am on right now is Therm O Web, which I love.  Some of my teams ended and then others I stepped down from. Just the idea of a deadline would cause me GREAT anxiety.  And anxiety is something that I have never, EVER had before...stress yes, but anxiety no.  And the anxiety wasn't just about creating, it's has been about everything, work, scrapping, the dogs, Mom passing, etc.

Some teams I tried for and didn't make it which sent me further into my little safe space of not creating and being present.  I am not going to sugar coat things and say I was ok with it, because I wasn't, I was in a dark place.  I work hard for teams I am on...I have great project photos (a lot better than some people, yes I said it..I have worked hard on that.)...I meet deadlines and I just felt let down and done. Crazy right, it's just paper, glue and glitter, not life or death.  I am honestly just now, finding my way out of the dark place and starting to enjoy creating and thinking of "maybe" trying for a team, etc.

So some time away has helped.  And made me realize I don't need to change to fit anyone's mold of what I "need" to be. Social media has a way of doing that before you even realize it.  I have to remind myself that 99.9% of the stuff you see on social media is staged, fake, or a "teeny tiny snippet" of what truly goes on.  Especially as far as scrapbooking.  You don't see people scrap the real stuff (which I have tried to do), it's more the staged photos, staged craft rooms (and not small rooms either) houses that are nice and tidy, vacations everywhere all the time, who you know,...I could go on, but I won't. And I just needed to tell myself....It's their loss and I am good at creating, we all are.

I know you are probably thinking I sound angry, bitter, you name it.  Well at the time, I was, I am not going to lie.  Am I still like that...no, sad maybe.  But I need to get back to creating for fun and me.  And not putting so much pressure on myself to be that "ideal" that social media wants everyone to be.

That girl up there has been thru a lot in the past three years...actually more like the past seven years or even a little longer.  She needed a break, reality check, whatever you want to call it. And thank god for the people that have put up with me thru it...you know who you are!

In conclusion, a little blog redo, actually using my affiliate account and using products that I love and inspiring people to use them also and MAKE ALL THE THINGS!!!

If you have read this far, let me know if you like the blog redo, any thoughts you have and what you might like to see.  Or just say hi and let me know that there is really someone reading this!  LOL LOL

I am not going to lie, the last three or so years have not been the best.  We lost this little girl to an aggressive cancer in April and things are just not the same without her.  The picture above (and below) was taken by our favorite photographer, April Turner (UTurn Studios) right after we got the diagnosis.

So, the blog has been silent and I just haven't been myself.  And my views of some things have changed, but more on that later.

Here is our tribute to Ella that I posted on Facebook.  I still have tears even writing this post.  We are all lost, Carleen, me and the boys included.  It's weird that the pack is down to two boys now and no girls. Ella ruled the roost until she left us.

Ella Boo Bear, I don't know what we are going to do without you. From the moment we met you at Marla's, you just fit right into the pack. You weren't going to sit by yourself in the car home, you had to get in the back with Fannie and Higgins and let them know that they had a new little sister.

You taught ME (not Carleen, she already knew!) so so many things. You were always happy, with such a sweet soul. You knew how to draw people and animals out of their shells and tell them the world was fun. You were the best therapy partner I could have had. You LOVED date night with Zodiac at the hospital and then date night again with Higgins at the Alzheimer's unit.

You put up with the ridiculous costumes I always put you in, but I think you kind of liked it. I will have to say that you did rock the "cheerleader on crack" costume quite well!

When you had your back injury, it wasn't going to slow you down. You HATED your wheels, but you knew they would help you get better. Honestly, I think you knew you could get more treats out of us that way.

And that soul of a "fighter" from the beginning trip home, carried you thru your back injury, to eventually helping you wobble walk again. Then an aggressive cancer diagnosis that generally takes a life quickly did not slow you down much. One month in, two months in, you just kept going. Amazing everyone as you kept that cancer in remission as long as you could.

After 21 months of fighting, you told us it was time to rest. Run free little boo bear and give Higgins, Fannie and Toby our love. We will see you at the bridge.

Hey there!  I know it's a winter layout, but you know I LOVE winter.  It's time for the Therm O Web and Gina K Designs Winter StampnFoil release and you are going to love it!  There are two different stamp sets, Baby It's Cold Outside and Holly Jolly.  These have matching dies and then also matching Foilmates to go along with them.  And you see that tape runner.  Yep, there is a Gina K Designs Tape runner release and I am kind of in love with it.  Plus it's refillable, so YAY for the environment!

We are doing a blog hop for the release and I am the sixth stop on the hop.  Don't worry, if you started here I have the full hop list below! And because I am weird and different, I had to do a layout with those fun snowflakes.  And of course, make them non traditional colors!  And you are going to want to hop and comment, because PRIZES!

Supplies: Cardstock, Pattern Paper, Puffy Hearts-American Crafts; Stamps, Foilmates, Ribbon, Adhesive, Foil, Dies-Gina K Designs and Therm O Web; Embossing Powder-Hero Arts; Ink-Versamark and Gina K Designs; Sequins-WeRMemory Keepers; Enamel Dots-My Minds Eye.

I thought those snowflakes would be fun to heat emboss on my background, just a tone on tone look and then pop up the foil/stamped/diecut snowflakes for fun!

And every scrapbook page (well almost every!) needs a title and the "baby it's cold outside" stamp was a great title for this page.  I die cut an oval out of some Slate Gina K cardstock and then stamped and embossed the stamp on the die cut.  I added some enamel dots for fun!

So be sure to leave a comment here, because they are picking some winners from the blog hop blogs and then there will be giveaways on Facebook, Instagram and Youtube.  Be sure to "follow and like" to be able to win!   Now, I bet you want to see the all the new products right?  And this is a LIMITED RELEASE!  So you are going to want to grab these if you don't win!

Now, a list for the hop will help your chance to win tremendously I think!!!  Also Gina K Designs will be having there own party and you can find that HERE.

Katrina Hunt-YOU ARE HERE!

Alright, don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win!!! One blog comment winner (from all the blogs in the hop) will win the set I used "Baby It's Cold Outside, with additional goodies!!!

And there is a Mega Giveaway on the Therm O Web Blog, it's pictured below!!!  So make sure and comment there also!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you have a wonderful week full of fun, laughter and crafting!

Hey there!  I am excited to share with you today that I am participating in Audrey Yeager's Summer Scrapping Series on YouTube.  It's been a week a month summer series of videos encouraging people to scrap those summer photos!

You can find Audrey's channel HERE.  And Cheryl from FiddleDeeDee Designs and I used the same digital template and you can find her channel HERE.

I did this hybrid layout, along with a video showing some of my hybrid process (or a lot, depending on how you look at it!).  I also used a digital kit from Becca Bonneville.

The video is at the bottom of this video!  I would love it if you wanted to head over to YouTube and subscribe!!

Supplies: Digital Kits-Let's Get Lost (Becca Bonneville) and Fun in the Sun Dressed Up (FiddleDeeDee Designs); Adhesives-Therm O Web; Foil-DecoFoil (Silver and Champagne; Twine-May Arts; Sequins-WeRMemory Keepers; Paper-Red River Linen; Printer-Epson 1430; Silhouette Cameo with Print and Cut

I think this corner is one of my favorite parts of the entire layout.  Actually each section is, but hey a girl can have choices right?!!

There is a funny story about these sunglasses.  I hadn't told anyone or shown Audrey my layout yet and she posted a layout today where she used DecoFoil on sunglasses!  LOL  Great minds!

And trust me, if you take me on a trip for directions you are going to take a scenic route and probably NOT on purpose!  So, I had to use that phrase strip.

And here is the video!  Be sure to tell me what you like or would want to see and I will see what I can do!

Hey there!  I am back today, amazing right?  I swear, just when I think I have gotten all of it together, then I don't.  And it's not that I am ok with that, but that's just the way things are happening and I am just rolling with it.

I have a hybrid layout to share with you today.  The Lilypad has added some new designers to the store and let me tell you, their stuff ROCKS!  Like makes me want to scrap all the time rock!  I used Rachel Jefferies collection Wake Up and Be Awesome for this layout today.

AND for this layout, I did not use my Silhouette to print and cut.  I cut those elements out by hand baby!  If you choose the right elements, then you can easily do this.  I just printed everything out of Photoshop and went to work.  SO, there is NO reason for you NOT to do hybrid!

Supplies: Digital Kit/Bundle-Wake Up and Be Awesome by Rachel Jefferies: Adhesive-Therm O Web; Ribbon-May Arts; Enamel Dots-Unknown; Doily-Hobby Lobby; Epson Wide Format 1430 printer

Now...one of the things I LOVE about hybrid is the fact that I can do "artsy" things to my papers and if I mess up, I just hit delete and redo it before I print anything!  I know, I know total cheat method, but I don't do the artsy enough to be ok with the "where ever it falls" idea!

And I LOVE the black in the collection with all the other colors.  Those black leaves are actually what drew me to the collection and working with it.  I could see me using this kit over and over, because what I used on my page is a fraction of what was in the kit!

I loved the font the "be awesome" was in so it had to go on my page!  And if the picture on the layout looks familiar, it was taken along with those other sunflower pics!  I can tell in this picture that I was having fun, but my momma was on my mind.  These were in July of last year, so I was working thru some things.  Who am I kidding, I am STILL working thru things.  Losing a parent changes you, and when your parents are both gone, then it takes a little getting used to.  It's like a fog that you just have to work thru.

So, in short, I have been working thru things and the scrappy mojo just hasn't been available to do much more than my design team stuff.  And blogging, well forget that. I think the new normal is setting in, so I won't deny that I am happy about that and feeling like things are falling into their new places.

So, that's all for today from me!  Have a good weekend and maybe there could be a blog post or a few next week?!!  HUGS

Hey everyone!!  Welcome to the Fall Release Hop for Therm O Web and Gina K Designs new StampnFoil release!  That is some yummy goodness right there!  You should have arrived at my blog from Juliana Michaels, but if not, no worries!!  I will have a complete blog list at then end of my post.
AND

There are prizes involved, so you are going to want to do the hop, comment and have a chance to win some goodies!

I think everyone else on the hop may have made cards, but I decided I wanted to do a layout today for the release.  Those sunflowers were calling my name for these pictures I have from when we went to the sunflower farm last year.  It's a little north of town, so we took a road trip!

Supplies: Cocoa Daisy July 2018 Kit; Gina K Designs/Therm O Web-StampnFoil, FoilMates; Adhesives-Therm O Web; Ink-Gina K Designs; Wood/Enamel Dots-My Mind's Eye and Simple Stories

Are you ready for some close ups?  First up all those flowers!  You can either stamp them, stamp and foil or just foil them.  Everything is sold separately, so you can tailor the items to what you like to do or want to try!  I will say, foiling with the FoilMates is super, Super, SUPER easy and a great way to try foiling.

If you look closely, the center of the solid yellow sunflower is stamped in brown ink and the teal flowers outsides are just stamped and not foiled.  The rest of the flowers are a combo of foiling and stamping.  They all look good either way!  And I tried masking for the first time on those stems and leaves.  I was excited how they turned out!

Next up, I taped two of the patterned FoilMates from the release together using the Purple Tape from ThermOWeb on the back, to make a bigger sheet of patterned paper.  I used some water and Gina K ink to do a light wash of a couple of colors over the sheet. I ran the sheet thru the laminator after it dried to flatten the warping some. Then I foiled in in the turquoise color that you can see.  If you want to try this for layouts or cards, just be careful to not use a lot of water!

I die cut the oval from the Large Oval set of Gina K dies and then stamped the sentiment from the stamp set int he middle of it. I felt like there needed to be something in that area, and that was the option I came up with!

Now, for the rest of the hop information!  There are lots of chances to comment to win so follow closely!!!
  • Comment on all the blogs on the hop!  There will be a random blog selected for a winner and then a random comment from all the blogs.  SO TWO chances to win there just by hopping and commenting.  You can win either the Graphic Sunflowers OR Thankful Leaves.  PLUS, Therm O Web will include adhesives, 3 packs of cardstock and 3 packs of the Fancy Foils in Grass Green, Sweet Mango and Wild Dandelion!  These are valued at over $100.00 each!
  • When you comment on the Therm O Web Blog you will be entered to win the ENTIRE RELEASE!
  • Also, check out Facebook, Instagram and YouTube for more chances to win.  Be sure to follow, like, and subscribe or additional chances.

Now, a list for the hop will help your chance tremendously I think!!!  Also Gina K Designs will be having there own party and you can find that HERE.

Alright, don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win!!!  And thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you have a wonderful week full of fun, laughter and crafting!
