Ms. Nicole and Ms. Sandy's 2's Plus TTH
May 13, 2019 to May 21, 2019

In our last full week of pre-school we painted both freestyle and with stencils. The stencils were a huge hit. We had worked with stencils in the beginning of the year and we saw a great improvement.

We worked on fine motor at the easel by practicing our cutting skills

We also were mixing paint colors in plastic bags. The kids were able to see the colors change before their eyes. They also were able to practice their letters by pressing down on the bags and dragging their fingers.

Our little architects were very busy building this week,.

We had a front row seat to watch the city pour cement to repair the sidewalk.
The kids were thrilled to watch the process.

We were fortunate to have a visit from a friendly policeman and Chase from Paw Patrol.  The children were able to sit in the police car and turn on the lights and siren.

Dates to remember:

May 21, 2019 Last day of school

We will be celebrating the last day of school with a beach party.

Dear Preschool Families,
Happy Last Full Week of School!!  Wow!! What a wonderful school year!!  It’s hard to believe our time together has come to an end; it feels as though we’ve just begun.  We give you back your child, the same child you confidently entrusted to our care last fall.  We give your children back a few pounds heavier, inches taller, more responsible, a little more confident, and a little more mature.  We give them back reluctantly, for having spent eight months together in our classroom, we have grown close, have become part of each other, and we shall always retain a little of each other. We have loved, laughed, explored, learned, cried and enriched our lives together this year.  Each of your children has brought such joy and happiness to our classroom.  We were so fortunate to have such a wonderful group of children and parents.  Our friends and family often laugh at Mrs. Smith and I when we refer to your children as “our kids”.  They are part of our family.  They all have touched our life in such a positive way.  We wish it could go on indefinitely, but they are ready for a new chapter in their lives to begin.  Mrs. Smith and I are so proud of the growth and accomplishments they have made this year!!  Thank you so much for sharing your children with us this year, we have truly enjoyed watching them develop.
Thank you also to our wonderful parents, this year would not have been a success without your support.  The children, Mrs. Smith and I greatly appreciated all the wonderful books which were read to us and volunteering within our classroom!!  We hope you enjoyed spending time in our room as much as we enjoyed having you in class.

Greetings from Room 119!

You are a very special person
And you should know,
How we have loved to have you in our care
How fast did the year go!

Please come back and visit us
As through the grades you go
Try hard to learn all that you can
There's so much to know.

One thing we tried to teach you
To last your whole life through,
Is to know that you are special
Just because you are you!!

Have a great Summer!
Good luck next year!

MWF 4's with Mrs. Melby and Mrs. Jeffords May 17

Check out our amazing hairstylists and customers getting pampered at our hair salon this week.

Constructing illuminating buildings on the light table, as well as building in the block center.

Creating their fabulous preschool t-shirt!

End of the year book, each child wrote their favorite memory from our preschool classroom.

Soapy water tunnels, their building and pouring has become very strong this year.

We practiced patterns while playing a variety of musical instruments.

Oh my, look who surprised us in our classroom!  Chase was on the case to assist Officer Ed in our classroom and teach about safety.  Everyone loved to explore Officer Ed's police vehicle as well.

Mixed emotions are abundant this time of year.  We are thankful we had the opportunity to teach your amazing children this school year.  Teaching and observing your children gives us so much joy and excitement each and every day.  As much as we will miss your children we are excited for their next chapter as they spread their wings and fly on toward their new adventures.

Looking ahead:
Monday, May 20: Last day of class
Wednesday, May 22 : Graduation - Please drop your child off in our classroom at 11:30, we will meet you upstairs in the community hall.  Graduation begins promptly at 11:45.

Thanks again for allowing us to spend this time with your children.

Have a wonderful summer with your families!
Mrs. Jeffords and Mrs. Melby
