Bill Sardi provides the latest on the baking soda cure-all.

Just tell your doctor: “Hold the steroid shots, anti-inflammatory drugs and pain relievers. I’ll take a quarter teaspoon of baking soda straight up with water.” Could Big Pharma be brought to its knees by sodium bicarbonate pills?

After the LewRockwell.com website was overrun with viewers to read a recent article I wrote that was posted there about baking soda being a cure for almost every known malady, feedback received from readers confirm this alkaline powder may just be what the doctor (didn’t) order. Read more

Redskins quarterback Alex Smith has embrace time-restricted eating to cut his already low body fat percentage in half.
In the days and weeks following the Kansas City Chiefs’ brutal 18-16 home playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in January 2017, Alex Smith looked in the mirror for ways to improve.

Smith, then the Chiefs’ starting quarterback, had been told after the season by coach Andy Reid that he’d get at least one more year to lead the Chiefs, even though the team would explore drafting a young quarterback (which it did). What was left unsaid — but was obvious to Smith — was that after four years in Kansas City, Year 5 would be put up or shut up time.

So with that in mind, he took his workouts to another level. Read more

Dr. Joseph Mercola says eating an early dinner aids weight loss and lowers cancer risk.
For years, a standard dietary recommendation said to stabilize your blood sugar and insulin levels (thereby optimizing energy and maintaining a healthy weight) has been to eat three square meals a day with small snacks in between. On top of that, health experts (influenced by the food industry) maintained that processed foods fortified with RDA nutrients are just as good as, and maybe even better than, cooking from scratch. Supplementing with probiotics can cut your risk of age-related bone loss by half, according to a new study..
Taking probiotic supplements every day can support bone health, as it cut the risk of age-related bone loss by 50 percent, according to a new study. The study, published in the Journal of Internal Medicine, examined the effect of probiotic supplementation on the human skeleton.

To conduct the study, the research team from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden recruited 90 elderly women, with the average age of 76. At the beginning of the trial, the team measured and recorded the bone mineral density at the spine, hip, and femoral neck of the participants. The team also aimed to verify whether good bacteria play a role in bone density improvements in humans, as shown in an earlier animal study. Read more

Rosemary aroma has been shown to significantly improve memory capabilities in children.
Breathe in the goodness of rosemary! Scientists are acknowledging the herb’s ability to improve cognitive ability in children. A new study presented at the British Psychology Society Annual Conference highlighted a distinct difference in working memory between children exposed to rosemary essential oil and those who weren’t. Dr. Mark Ross, the co-author of the observational review said on ScienceDaily.com, “Our previous study demonstrated the aroma of rosemary essential oil could enhance cognition in healthy adults. Knowing how important working memory is in academic achievement we wanted to see if similar effects could be found in school age children in classroom settings.” Read more

Drinking a glass of wine a day can help women live longer by making their hearts healthier A glass of wine a day could help you avoid a heart attack: Women drinkers have a lower risk of cardiac arrest than nondrinkers.
Women who drink a glass of wine every day have healthier hearts than those who do not touch a drop, a study suggests.

Researchers found women who regularly consume up to 14 units of alcohol steadily over the course of a week had a lower risk of heart disease than teetotallers or binge-drinkers.

Yet men who drink 21 units during each week – about nine pints of beer – had hearts no healthier than those who did not consume any alcohol. Read more
