Did you know? June 22nd is National Bring Your Dog to Work Day. Now, not everyone is allowed to bring their dogs to work, and some workplaces aren’t suitable for dogs.  However, for those who can, there are some awesome benefits to having your pup at work.  Here are 5 benefits of having a dog at work.

Stress Reducers

Dogs have super powers, okay? Their most important one is the fact that they reduce stress. Have you ever pet a dog and then just felt 100% less stressed? It just feels so nice and all your worries are petted away. According to science, pets at the workplace make them happier, lower stress levels, and create a comfortable, flexible environment.

Promotes Positive Social Interactions

And who doesn’t love dogs? Whenever I see a dog on the street, I immediately have to point it out to whomever I’m with. Dogs are great for employees too; it creates a way for people who don’t usually interact to interact. They want to play with the dog so they have to go where the dog is! So, with this in mind, it’s clear that a pet-friendly workplace will increase employee satisfaction and promote an atmosphere of teamwork!

Improves Company Image

MCLife is completely pet friendly! This improves our company image tenfold; most customers have a positive response when they find out about the pet friendly policies that MCLife has.  Plus, having pets in the office also tends to soften the company’s image and makes a business seem more forward thinking.

Increases Employee Performance

If your company is pet-friendly, it means you don’t have to have as many absences. You don’t have to worry about letting the dog out or staying home to watch your puppy when he’s not feeling well. Just bring him/her into the office!

Gets People Moving

You gotta walk the dog every so often! Bringing your dog into work will make you get up and walk around for a few minutes throughout the day which promotes productivity! And it’s not that good to be sitting all the time anyway soooo…

There are probably so many reasons why it’s such a good idea to bring your dog to work – why not find some more when you bring him/her into the office on June 22?

June 17th is almost upon us- and that means Father’s day is here. Which means refrain from touching the air conditioner, don’t sit in his recliner, and prepare to spend some time at home watching the same 3 Freeform movies on repeat for the weekend.

If your dad is anything like mine- he lives for the little things. (And that sometimes makes it incredibly hard to shop for him.) Should I get him another cool tie? Ironic mug? Or maybe add to his Amazon Alexa collection, which he will undoubtedly use incorrectly because modern technology can be hard. Maybe I should get him that thing he’s been talking about for his car. Or a collector’s edition of that World War II movie he’s seen 10,000 times. What about that ironic apron and grilling set?

These are all great ideas, but they’re also all… so overdone.

How about this year you do something different? Forget staying in and watching the same movie over and over again, or doing that awkward family dinner where everything kind of feels a little bit forced? Let’s pack away the collection of quirky ties and bad homemade gifts and instead treat your dad to something he may not expect- some time out.

Surprise your dearest dad this Father’s Day by getting him out of the house. Make your old man ditch the slippers and put on some real shoes, because you’ve got the weekend to spend doing nothing but appreciating him!

Here are some unique ideas on how to spend this Father’s day weekend!

If you’ve got a little money and a dad that doesn’t necessarily like walking around then I’ve got the event for you. This Saturday, June 16th, the Hill Country Flyer will journey 66 miles in a round trip excursion. Enjoy lunch in Burnet, and take a stroll around their historic town square. Enjoy the sights, sounds, and overall bonding experience that is a train ride. Train leaves bright and early at 10 AM and returns at 5 PM. Luckily, here at The Place at Terracina, we’re only a 17-minute ride away. It’s practically right around the corner.

If your dad is anything like mine, he likes to eat. Actually, if your family is anything like mine, they all like to eat. And one of the best family outings is just 10 minutes away from your place at Terracina. The Melting Pot on Research BLVD is doing Father’s Day Endless Fondue. A four course meal for $43- plus your dad gets complimentary Garlic & Wine seasoning to take home. Loosen that belt loop, buddy- because I’ll see you at Fondue Night!

So maybe you have a dad who likes the finer things. Like old whiskey and sweet chocolate truffles. Well good news, because Delysia Chocolatier Culinary Center is doing a Father’s Day Chocolate & Whiskey event! Only 15 minutes from The Place at Terracina, you can enjoy chocolate truffle flavors like Smoked Salted Bourbon Pecan and Scotch. No reservations or tickets necessary!

Did you know that your place at Terracina is just 10 minutes away from one of the coolest Father’s Day events this weekend? A custom Father’s Day Art Market is running at 4th Tap Brewing Co-Op. Enjoy art, woodwork, body care, food trucks, and cold drinks with your dad this father’s day. Surely your dad will find something he’s interested in amongst the tables of vendors. Runs from 6PM to 9PM with events starting before and after those times!

If your dad is the outdoorsy type and wants to learn something new this father’s day, then why not treat him to a Beginners Kayak Class? $45 a person, Congress Avenue Kayaks is doing a Kayak 101 class. It offers beginners a chance to learn the history and fundamentals of kayaking. The $45 fee includes an instructor, paddle, life vest, kayak and open paddle time! It’s only a 20-minute ride from your place at Terracina, so get your dad pumped for some lessons on the open water!
