Busch Gardens – a Theme Park for all the family. We loved our day at Busch Gardens. So much. It really is a theme park for all the family. Whether you have thrill seekers, animal lovers or little ones at the start of their rollercoaster journey this park has something for everyone. When planning a trip to Florida don’t be afraid to venture further afield than Orlando. You won’t be disappointed. There really is so much to see. As part of our recent family trip to Florida we visited all of the Seaworld Parks and I am so glad that Busch Gardens was our first experience of riding coasters outside of the UK. They were awesome. From its African themed animal park, to world class thrill rides and more than 12,000 animals Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay really is a brilliant family adventure. I would recommend visiting on a week day, we found this more enjoyable in all of the parks that we visited. We arrived 45 minutes before opening which meant we were very close to the front of the queues for entry as well being near to the tram which is the only way to enter the park. There […]

This week I have been Enjoying the sunshine. You? It’s been a glorious weather week. I feel like this is the week we’ve all really got back into work, School, after School classes and the routine of not being on holiday. I have also been thinking of new ways to deliver the content I want to share with you. I wrote this post as my new blog and name was revealed. In many ways, as I said in the post there won’t be too many changes, just me and my ramblings and a few tweaks here and there. Like this post, it will now be a weekly ‘This week I have been’.  And so here is my first This week I have been: Reading I came home from Orlando to my new Red Mag, it feels like so long since I picked up a magazine. I’m hoping to have a lazy morning this weekend and indulge in a little me time. There are so many articles I need to read in this months edition – and of course all the fashion. I love the fashion pages. So much inspiration. But also the letters from readers, I often resonate with so […]

Hey there guys So I guess one of the biggest questions ahead of how the flip do fast passes work, and how long will the queue for Flight of Passage be (135 mins at worst) is what to wear to the Theme Parks in Florida? As we started to plan our trip, to map out the parks and pull together an itinerary I couldn’t help but think about my wardrobe. What was I going to wear for 18 days in Orlando? With the exception of 3 days, our time would mostly be spent riding rollercoasters, visiting water parks and walking around the parks in 30 degree heat (we averaged 30,000 steps a day). Not your usual summer holiday. Here is my Florida Style Diary So, I had a few things to consider. Comfort but with style, tan lines (of course), what to do with my hair (think Monica in the heat), footwear (you don’t want them flying off on rides), clothes that went from day to night. Did I need dresses for the evenings? To answer, yes – I took 3 and I’m glad that I did. And lastly bikini or costume for the water parks? I think I got […]

Walls of Disney Yes that’s right, I have dedicated my first post about our trip to Orlando all about the Instagram Walls of Walt Disney World. In actual fact this is the first of a couple of posts that I hope to write, as actually there are walls and Instagram spots all over Walt Disney World as well as Universal and Seaworld. Yes, yes there are. And believe it or not they’re a thing. And they’re a bit of a social media phenomenon. They’re fun, quirky and wonderful backdrops. We had a lot of fun seeking them out. For me taking a photo in front of a Disney Wall was a must-do on our visit to the Walt Disney Parks. Especially when they create such pretty backdrops. At times I felt like we were on a bit of a treasure hunt, talking to Cast Members who knew exactly what I was looking for (I told you they were a thing), being pointed in the right direction. In the direction of the #wallsofdisney. George often found them before I did. To make your search a little easier, here are Ten popular Disney Walls and where to find them at Walt Disney […]

Me and Mine in April. I had thought about missing April’s catch up, but in truth I just love looking back at these posts not only to see how much George has grown (honestly I need a time machine) but also because when it comes to the end of the year it is such a lovely reminder of our year together. To look back on all the little things we have done, memories made and moments shared. Although I’m certain that April won’t be forgotten for a very long time. We did manage to grab a whole bunch of family photos whilst in Orlando so it would be a shame not to share them right. That’s my thinking and for that reason alone I want to document them here on the blog. And just like that our trip to Orlando came and went. Don’t get me wrong we were so lucky to be able to take such a long break. We had a whole 18 days together and it was nothing but wonderful. Immersed in nothing but family time and the magic that is Disney as they say. Although the Disney part of our trip was only lets say a […]

Hello there. It feels wonderful to have pressed publish on my first post under the new name – The KA Edit. Exciting right? For some time now I’ve been thinking that my blog name didn’t really represent the direction I felt my ramblings were going in. And whilst the content won’t actually be changing much at all that’s only really because I felt the change happen almost a year ago. I started this blog in 2014. It began as my creative outlet after becoming a mummy to our little boy George Archie. I started out blogging about parenting and over the years it has evolved into a blog that covers lifestyle, fashion, family and travel. Today The KA Edit is ultimately a life and style blog. You can catch up with my latest blog posts on Life, Style, Family, you’ll find my current wardrobe loves right here or see what I got up to today on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. So I guess what I am trying to say is that there’s a new style, old favourites and a fresh look.
