@justinamrhein’s new #kayrockedition, “Ambystoma Californiense” is now available on our website! Investigating the dynamics between combining the mechanical with the biological is a recurring conceptual direction in Justin’s work. In the form of schematic drawings, he defines the function and purpose of created elements that border between real objects and imaginary creations.
From 6-9pm, it’s celebration night at Sound and Vision, @americandesignclub’s exhibition in Times Square. Listen to Karl LaRocca play the Emergencynth and explore all the sound proof pods in discovery village! Each pod gives visitors the chance to enjoy a quiet, intimate experience with emerging design products and installations in the middle of the outdoor plaza at 42nd St. (at Times Square, New York City) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bxh1k-GnBx3/?igshid=1oa3e3eggidwi
Dan Shaw-Town’s #kayrockedition, “Arbeta”, is now available on our website! "Arbeta" translates to “work” from Swedish, a language that Dan’s wife and daughter often speak at home. It’s a language he doesn’t speak, so a lot of what is said is abstract sound to him. In this sense, as in “Arbeta”, text has been reduced to a pattern, a layered image somewhere between drawing and writing with an emphasis on it’s own process of production showing the smudging from handling etc, the work focuses on the potential tangibility of words and text.
