Each time we make this meatloaf recipe, I have to roll back a few years to the night we had baby 9 enter the world. I know we were just a crowd of hungry people, but it was the best meatloaf EVER. It’s been Joyous Home’s favorite classic meatloaf since that fine day years back. Say goodbye to dry old meatloaf, double beatloaf.

Joyous Home’s Favorite Meatloaf

This may not be a classic meatloaf recipe, and to be honest we’ve never enjoyed oats in our meatloaf if that was the ingredient that made it classic!

I’ve always wanted a cast iron skillet. I like the idea of packing good eats into it and putting it the oven to bake up – there’s something dessert and dinner comfy about that idea. I’ve always thought the cast iron skillets were just too small for our us. My sister offered me one she just hadn’t used much, so gave it a go! My husband seasoned it up and I made my first skillet chocolate chip cookie.

I love this quick and easy applique` using my sewing machine, I had to share! I’ve been working on some little projects for some carry-around stitching storage (honestly, I’ve got thread and little bits of projects all over the place!), pin cushions and needle books, so I’ll share an applique` tutorial from these projects.

This is my umbrella applique` for a pin cushion I made…

There are a couple easy applique` techniques, but I love this one the most.

My husband loves cheesecake, and everyone here loves lemon! This cheesecake is a little different because you separate the egg whites and add them after whipping. We top with lemon curd, which is optional but delicious! I also think the crust can be an exciting part of the cheesecake. Although, if the crust is soggy or without taste, the cheesecake is blah. This crust is made with cookies – lemon Oreo cookies to be exact!

Logic of English is a great experience!

For the past several weeks our children have been working through Essentials 2nd Edition from Logic of English.

Upon opening the box, I was delighted to see the quality of all the materials, but I wasn’t exactly sure if this was going to be a fit for our family. The amount of material looked overwhelming and very busy. However, I was intrigued when I started to read through the teacher’s guide.

Are you having trouble using whole wheat in your favorite cookie recipe? Maybe your family just doesn’t like whole wheat in their cookies, it works for bread, but please, not in our cookies! In this recipe, we sneak in 1/2 of the flour using hard white wheat, and they’ll never know. Here is a Perfectly Sneaky Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.

I’ll give a brief whole wheat lesson mainly focusing on cookies.

Simple girls apron, and we all think, “Is it really simple?” It was, and my little girls are happy with them! Christmas cookie time is here, and I have two very eager little cookie bakers who are so ready to bake this year! Even though this Christmas season is going by so fast already with travel and a Christmas to-do list stacking up on me, I decided to sneak in sewing time anyway to make these little aprons for my little girls.

I have been LOVING Jimmy Dean Turkey Crumbles. I’ve been finding all sorts of things to make with them. Fried rice, quiche, dip, pizza, sausage gravy – the list goes on. Hot Buffalo Dip with Turkey Crumbles, it’s delicious! You can find the crumbles in the grocery aisle where the sausage rolls are, most of the time anyway. I thought one day there was going to be a roll around for those turkey crumbles!

Hot Buffalo Dip With Turkey Crumbles

I honestly think we should start a turkey crumble challenge.
