Easter is right around the corner, already!! Last year my daughter was too young to have fun with Easter egg hunts, but this year its on!! I’ve been coming up with some things to fill her basket with that I know she will love. If you haven’t started thinking about what to get your kids for their Easter Baskets, it’s about time to get on it! It’s a great time to get your kids some fun outdoor activity gifts, new toys, clothing for Spring, anything egg/bunny/carrot shaped will do! I’ve gathered up a bunch of Easter basket filler ideas that are great for kids! A few of them are gender neutral, but some may be more geared towards girls or boys. And I’m definitely using this guide for my own shopping for my daughter’s basket too! But if all else fails and you don’t have time to shop, Target Easter sections are usually pretty on point too!
Lets start off with some cute easter egg baskets, then let’s get into the fillers!

Every year at the end of the year, I make a goal sheet for the following year. One of my goals for this year was to partner with Google on an event. After yesterdays event, I was able to cross that off my list!! I was a panelist at the Women Leading in Business: A Panel & Workshop featuring Successful Entrepreneurs event with Google. When I first found out about it, I was so excited and honored. These are exactly the type of events I love to take part in because they leave the attendees so motivated and inspired. Enjoy some pictures and a brief rundown on the event below.
The event was hosted by my girl Angelina Darrisaw and she was awesome. She opened the event up with Angela Yee and they did an informative Q&A about Google ads, how they are beneficial to business owners and how to use Google to enhance your business. The information that was shared was so valuable and informative and so many women got a lot of great gems from it. After the Q&A, we took a brief break and let the guest check out all of the vendor tables. Vendors included Miss Jessies, Dusse (to get every loose lol), Juices for Life (Angela Yee’s business – super good juices BTW), Foot Prints Cafe andThe Bakery on Bergen.
The panelists were all so transparent and were vulnerable to be able to convey lessons and share personal stories that help others on their journey’s. It was a true gift and an honor to sit on a panel with these women. Here is a list of the panelists:
Even after writing that list I’m like YAASSSSSS to all this girl power!
So much information was shared from the panel, but here are some great takeaways:
Keep your integrity when it comes to business.
Relationships in business are EVERYTHING.
Keep a tough skin in business.
Don’t worry about what your competition is doing. Don’t worry if someone copies what you are doing. They are inspired by your greatness. You just keep being you and you will always be ahead of the game.
There are good times and bad times in business. If you want to be the boss, you need to stick around for all of the downsides that come with business.
Failures are awesome teachers
If you want your business to thrive, you have to put in the work aka HUSTLE!
Do your best and hire out the rest. Be honest with yourself. Know your strengths and weaknesses. If you know you are lacking in a certain area, hire some help. Without help, you will burn yourself out and your business will suffer.
Take time for self care. You can’t take care of anyone or anything if you don’t take care of yourself first.
I truly enjoyed by time with Google! I also got to meet a lot of my followers and that is always super cool!!
I get so hype when its “wash day” and I get to braid her hair in a new style. The day before I do her hair, I really sit and think about how I will style her hair next. I’ve recently started braiding her hair up, because she has so much hair and it saves me a lot of time by not having to do her hair every morning. The braided styles are super cute BUT a sista needs these to last lol. Annnnnd the way toddlers sleep like they are in a ninja battle…BRUH! I had to find the solution or else these styles would look cute for 2 days at most!
Out of all of the head wraps I have tried on her, I like the durag satin scarf the best. That one fits around her head the best and ties tight enough to stay on but not too tight to cause her pain or leave marks. Most importantly… It. Stays. On. Here is a pic of the durag style satin scarf I mentioned. Click here to get more deets on it and to purchase.
She also has toddler bonnets and a scarf. The bonnet stays on nicely because it has an elastic band. When I put the bonnet on her, I think she feels it’s a game to SNATCH the bonnet off lol. If I put it on her when she isn’t paying attention, it will stay on.
When I put the scarf on her, I wrap it a certain way so it will stay. A good reference I like to use is to start to tie it in the position that Tupac tied his bandana.
Start at the back, tie it up front and then take the two ends and tie them at the back of her head close to the neck. I tuck the loose hanging ends in the side to also hold the scarf in place. Depending on how your child sleeps and the softness of your scarf material, this should hold it on good.
Ok, this weather has been playing with us but I’m here for it!! It was almost 70 degrees today and I was hype! I was just in LA and it was cooler there than it is on the east coast. I brought a cute but chill SHEIN outfit with me that I loved. I told you all about this brand before and how they have sooo many items to choose from ranging from casual to glam and they are super affordable. It is a one stop shop for trendy affordable clothes. Trends come and go every year. What’s in this summer may not be in next summer and keeping up with trends each year can be expensive. So when it comes to trendy pieces, I know some of my readers would rather spend $10 at Shein than $50 or more somewhere else. As you all know, I like to mix highs and lows. See below how I paired my $8 Shein Elastic Waist Midi Pencil Skirt and my $9 Drop Shoulder Raw Hem Rips Crop Hoodie with my Sonique Saturday bag and pink Gucci oversized round frame metal glasses.
This midi hoodie has little cuts on the shoulder that give it a nice edgy look. The top is super soft, fits nicely and is true to size. The skirt fits like a glove and shows off your curves for sure. You see my little curves poking through LOL!! This is a perfect outfit to run errands in but still look cute while doing so.
