Me & this little gals mama went to high school together many moons ago, so when they told me they wanted to bring their beautiful baby girl to see me at the Honey Pie studio for her 1st birthday Cake Smash photo shoot, i was super excited to see her again. After all it had been too many years, more than i wish to count!
This fab family have the most beautiful taste with interior design, their home is a stunning mix of vintage, character, moody rich colours & homely warmth – its wonderful. So when i asked mama what theme/colour scheme she would like me to do for her baby girl turning one i already kinda knew they would choose a vintage shabby chic but classy look to their baby girls birthday celebration photo shoot. This theme is fast becoming one of my most popular themes for baby girls turning one year old, but i do ensure that i make each version different, along the same lines, but not exactly the same – its important to me for each little client of mine to have something different.
But to the smash session, little Thea was amazing! She had THE most beautiful perfect pale porcelain skin, just like a victorian doll, breathtaking in fact. She has a whole heap of character to go with it too! She was hilarious for her birthday photos with us, she had us all singing & making silly animal noises & playing peak-a-boo… anything to get those smiles right? & it was so SO worth it, her gallery is the most beautiful mix of perfectly wide eyed wonderment, mixed with cheekiness & fun. Thea had no qualms about getting stuck right into her cake, but i should have known this little miss would dive right in. Mama runs the wonderful @theasfirstfoods over on Instagram – go check it out! Full of wonderful recipe ideas, foods to tempt & stimulate those little tastebuds & all fun baby led weaning tips & tricks, there is some fab content on there – i even screen grabbed a recipe for rhubarb compote the other day (for myself!)… yummy!
Dusty Rose came to see me for her Newborn Photo Shoot when she was 9 days new with her big sisters aged 8 & 3. Dusty Rose came all the way from Hastings to see me, driving 90 mins each way just to have her baby photos taken by me… No pressure then right? Little one, as i imagined would do, slept a little whilst swaddled, then PING was wide awake & super interested in me & what i was doing. We fed her & although she was so super cosy & snug in the studio, she was just too interested in what was going on. No surprise after being in her car seat 90 mins on the way here having a lovely snooze no doubt. But this little awake moment we had resulted in such a beautiful image in the gallery & might just be my favourite! Mama chose dusty pinks, peaches & whites for her newest little girls newborn session, a classic combination but utterly perfect for this little one. Her big sisters absolutely rocked their sibling role too, absolute little superstars, despite mama telling me older sissy wasn’t a fan of having her photos taken – she was a dream! They even helped me with a brand new sibling pose, and of course as you can see totally aced it! Such a lovely lovely sweet family, i adored working with them to capture these beautiful memories that i know they will cherish forever.
Worthing Newborn Photo Shoot | Dusty Rose 9 days old
This little lad bought me cuteness in abundance – I mean seriously look at that grin in the little bed shot! i LOVE him! … He rocked up to the studio with the most beautiful pouty lips ever, with THE most perfect cupids bow shape – absolutely stunning. Slept a little then had some food & slept a good chunk more, he was awesome!!! Mama chose white & cream for her little boys newborn photo shoot & we kept it super classic & simple with no hats & minimal props… these images will proudly go in any room in their home, & will be adored by all those who love him. It was a total pleasure meeting this sweet family, i had the best session & i know they loved it too. They felt very at home in the new Honey Pie studio & im so glad i was chosen to capture these precious memories for this lovely family. Here are just a few of my favourites from this cute session.
This little lady was WIIIIIIIDE awake for about half of her Newborn Photo Shoot with me at the Honey Pie Photography studio. We always start with the wrapped shots for a newborn session & she was super snuggled up in those wraps, i think when she was unwrapped her little eyes pinged right open & she thought she was hungry again… by all accounts she’s quite the foodie you see! But thats ok, we didn’t mind her being super alert, it resulted in some utterly beautiful images in her gallery & then she ate some milk & she conked out again, and fell into a wonderful deep sleep for us. The result is the most perfect mix of awake shots & super sleepy posed shots for her adorable parents. Her mama chose very soft blush, peachy pinks mixed with white & beige type rustics for her little girls baby photos. She also told me before we met for the session that daddy is a farmer, so i set about collecting pheasant feathers for the shoot & we used a brown hare & a spaniel dog tiny toys in this little girls gallery too. Im obsessed with the results, such a beautiful gallery which fits perfectly with this sweet families lifestyle & home.
Little Miss Tallulah first came to see me when she was only 15 days old for her Newborn Session, so when mama got in touch again to say they wanted to come back to celebrate her first birthday i was super excited to see the family again. Mama chose the same colours that Tallulah had for her Newborn photos for her Cake Smash Photo Shoot – soft pinks, warm greys & white tones. Im 100% obsessed with how the set turned out, it was for sure one of my most epic creations which took 3.5 hours in total to create. Tallulah rocked up on the day of her actual birthday looking a little hesitant whilst her parents & i were chatting over a coffee, but soon warmed up & got comfortable with me. Mama chose 3 pretty outfits from the Honey Pie Photography closet for her little girls celebrations, firstly a beautiful tulle sparkly silver beaded number, secondly a blush pink number with embroidered stars & lastly a pink velvet embellished outfit for the smash. Tallulah was full of cheekiness during her portrait images, she was on the go the entire time & surely had ants in her pants. She wasn’t yet walking fully but definitely preferred to be up on her toes than sitting still for us! We pulled out all the stops, singing & making animal noises but I’m not entirely sure she found us at all funny. Then came the cake, well, she wasn’t a huge fan of cake, not today anyway. But boy she loved those strawberries mama bought along with her which we hid in the cake!
Tallulah, its always a pleasure. Thankyou for choosing Honey Pie Photography as your Worthing Cake Smash photographer here are your mamas absolute favourite images from your session.
This handsome chap came to see me initially when he was still cooking in mamas tummy for her Maternity photoshoot, then when he was born he wasn’t quite able to come for newborn images right away so we had to delay it until he was a month old, I was mad excited knowing i was getting to meet this adorable family again to celebrate Tamas’s first birthday with his Cake Smash & Splash Photography. His mama chose a simple but very beautiful theme of baby blue, elephants, clouds, stars & balloons… but i was asked not to make it too sparkly, so i had to restrain the inner magpie in me. But i absolutely adore how it turned out & it looks stunning in the photos too! Tamas’s mama bought along this ultra cute outfit with the shorts & the little bow tie & he absolutely rocks it with his mop of blonde hair & huge blue eyes. He loved the cake, once we gave him a wooden spoon to bash it with & he found the bath time hilarious! Little Tamas was a little under the weather the day he came to see me, but no matter, we still got some utterly beautiful images for his sweet parents & i know for sure these images will be displayed very proudly in their family home for many years to come, alongside the maternity & the newborn images too.
Little miss Sophias mama chose a cat theme for her baby girls first birthday photoshoot, cats mixed with pastels & sparkles. So i set about designing the set, now anyone who knows me knows im a CRAZY dog lady. Dogs are totally my thing. So designing a cat themed Cake Smash set concerned me a little, i was totally worried i wouldn’t pull it off – but i absolutely love that each & every client challenges me & my creative juices. Having said all that, im legit OBSESSED with how this set turned out, i absolutely LOVE it! So much so, im certain one of these images will be proudly hung in the new studio space. Having known mama loosely though my old job as a Midwife i was almost 99% certain she would choose a unicorn theme for her daughters photo shoot, so she certainly surprised me!
Little Sophia was a doll for her Cake Smash photoshoot, she wasn’t yet crawling or walking so she was super chilled out & just hung out on the set munching very happily on her cake. Man she loved that cake! At one point she even had two big handfuls of it, happily chomping away on each side alternatively. We were all singing nursery rhymes, making silly noises to make her laugh but mama had the trump card… her animal noises were out of this world, like legit i thought at one point i had an gorilla in the studio with us – first class effort there thats for sure! But it all totally worked, i mean just look at this stunning collection of images. this isn’t even all of them! Loved her <3
Could not have loved this little ones Newborn Session more, i had also recently photographed Caspers big brother for his 1st birthday Cake Smash & Splash photoshoot only a couple of months ago. So i was so excited to meet the newest arrival to this sweet family! Little Casper was AMAZING for his baby photoshoot with me, he did every pose like a pro & barely woke up at all! Mama & papa chose the prettiest of colours for their little boys newborn session, consisting of navy, mustard, greys & rustic earth tones & the resulting images are utterly beautiful & will fit perfectly with big brothers Cake Smash images which were navy & silver with a star filled night sky theme. Who by the way totally aced his big brother role for his sibling images, only being 14 months old himself it could easily have gone one way or another, but he was a little diamond & just look how adorable they both look together!… I already know I cant wait to meet Casper & his family for his birthday celebrations in a years time!
