Homeschool Unrefined by Angela Sizer, Maren Goerss, Rachel .. - 1M ago

Rachel Larson is a counselor and homeschool mom who owns her own practice.  She gives us insight into the mystery of anxiety and shows us how we can best support our favorite people through it.  This episode is for all of us, whether we have a slight bend toward anxiety or an official diagnosis.

We'd love if you joined our closed Facebook group, Unrefined Homeschoolers.  We are going to be ramping things up in there and we'd love to have you join us!

Homeschool Unrefined by Angela Sizer, Maren Goerss - 1M ago

It’s February and we decided a little curriculum check-in was in order.  We’ve made some major and minor tweaks since the start of the year and we thought we’d chat about all of that together.  We start off talking about our general philosophy on curriculum and what we mean when we mention it. Then we spill the beans on exactly what we’re using (or not using) for each subject for each of our kids. This episode got a little lengthy but we know it’s a topic that interests many homeschoolers.  Enjoy!

This episode is all about those pesky high expectations we place on ourselves and how we're inevitably not living up to them. Most homeschool parents are not exempt, including the two of us.  We talk about how and why we aren't living up to our ideal, why this is damaging and what we can do combat it.

We'd love if you joined our closed Facebook group, Unrefined Homeschoolers.  We are going to be ramping things up in there and we'd love to have you join us!

Can knowing more about personalities transform your homeschool? We think so! We discuss the simple yet powerful framework of introvert/extrovert, and we break down the common myths and misunderstandings about both. Respecting this basic dynamic in our homeschool can have big results! We also introduce four personality systems we love and use for self-awareness, personal growth and development, and healthy relationships. Join us as we start this new series about one of our FAVORITE topics.

Homeschool Unrefined by Maren Goerss, Angela Sizer - 1M ago

This week, we dive into the vital skill of self-evaluating.  We hone in on why it’s so good and how we do it (or how we WANT to do it more).  We also think of some good examples of what it looks like when there is successful self-evaluation happening.  As always, we have a fun chat to start out the episode, and we end with our LTWs (Loving This Weeks).

We continue in glorious Summer Mode with what’s going well, what needs tweaking, and a self-care check-in.  Get an update on Maren’s pilates efforts and Angela’s reading habits.  We go on too long (if that’s even possible) about some favorite books, and we have a good laugh about Parks and Rec (the actual thing, not the tv show). We also dive into a listener question about curriculum and what we REALLY do.
