Michaela and Jena met online. Their proposal story was quite interesting. The couple traveled to Chicago and went to the top of the Sears Tower (103 floors up). There is a 360 degree glass enclosure looking out over the city up there. Even though it was quite scary, Michaela persuaded Jena to get on the ledge for a pic of the two of them. While getting a picture taken, Michaela proposed to Jena. This couple enjoys doing DIY projects together, going on day trips and enjoying a night out at various restaurants, comedy shows or hitting up an arcade. We met them on a very cold day at the NY State Museum for their engagement session. We look forward to capturing their big day this November at the Century House.
We kicked off our 11th year shooting weddings with our 2019 Hitlin Wedding Couple, Ashleigh and Jason. The couple were actually married in December in the Cayman Islands and had a renewal of vows at the beginning of this year in Troy. Ashleigh and her bridesmaids got ready across the street at the Best Western Franklin Square hotel. Ashleigh finished makeup when we arrived and the girls did a celebratory toast to their friend. Meanwhile downstairs, Jason got ready. The couple had a First Look on the roof top of Franklin Plaza. It was a crisp January day, but Ashleigh came prepared with a pretty cranberry shawl which matched her floral bouquet perfectly. We shot the couples portraits on the roof and inside the top floor of the Plaza before heading downstairs for some pics in front of the gorgeous Franklin holiday decorations. The wedding party met us outside for some group pics. The couple said their I Do’s again, but this time in front of around 188 guests. Cocktail hour was served on the second floor and we caught an amazing sunset with the couple back up on the roof. The combination of both Ashleigh and Jason’s ethnic backgrounds came into play during the Reception. A drum announced the entrance of the wedding party into the ballroom and such interesting dance music was played for the guests to enjoy. Ashleigh’s dad made traditional fruit cakes for guests to take home in cute little red boxes that were begging for a ring pic. We had a bunch of fun and this couple was all smiles for us, especially for their second round celebrating their wedding. Best wishes to you both Ashleigh and Jason from Hitlin Photography.
Keith and I say all of the time how we are very lucky to have such a great job. It’s the kind of job where we have fun and get to be creative. We get to witness first hand the marriage of two individuals on the most important day of their lives. But one of the BEST PARTS of our job is WHO WE GET TO WORK WITH. In 2018, Hitlin Photography Inc. celebrated its 10 year Anniversary. Over the years we have worked with so many Wedding Professionals and one of the most important things we have learned in our time working, is to work as a TEAM with everyone involved in the Wedding Day. So that’s what we do. I’m not going to lie, we try to have the most fun and like to joke around, but these people right here; well, they MAKE OUR JOB EASY. We are so honored to get to work with so many AMAZING people in the Wedding business. Enjoy our 2018 Tribute To Wedding Professionals. These are the people who we were lucky to work with this past year. THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO and hope to see you out there in 2019 and beyond!!!
What a nail bitter this one was this year. Couples went all out trying to get votes and even people who didn’t even know the couples took time to look at the weddings and decide on a favorite. We had votes coming in from all over the world on this one too, with over 10 countries weighing in. So many nice comments were written about each couple’s wedding as well. We greatly appreciate all of the attention this Vote received. A total of 7,213 Votes were placed over the span of 30 weddings we shot in 2018 within just one week. We especially thank our couples for allowing us the honor of capturing your gorgeous day. Congratulations to all of our couples.

We were so excited to wrap up our 10th Year of Weddings at one of our favorite venues; Franklin Plaza, for the wedding of Katie and Andrew. The couple were married first in a Chinese wedding and then celebrated their American wedding in Troy a few weeks ago. Katie and her girls got ready at the Best Western Franklin Square in the bridal suite. We love this room as it is so spacious. Katie finished makeup when we arrived and we bumped into good friend Melissa from Poppytree Floral delivering flowers. Keith headed downstairs to the guys who were getting dressed and then opening groomsmen gifts. After Katie slipped into her gown, we set up the First Look in front of Franklin where they couple saw each other for the first time. It was a cold December day, but Katie came prepared with the most gorgeous white coat that fit perfectly over her gown. We walked around downtown a bit for some pictures before heading up to the roof of Franklin to meet the Wedding Party and family. The couple were married in the ballroom in a beautiful candle lit ceremony. The room was then transformed during cocktail hour and we snuck the couple downstairs for some pics in the reception area. Guests danced and had a ton of fun, while an amazing dessert table filled with Cider Belly Donuts and Cheesecake from Cheesecake Machismo was displayed in the back. It was a lovely winter wedding and we had so much fun. Thank you Katie and Andrew for smiling all day for us and letting us capture your wedding.
As we traveled up the Northway for the wedding of Robyn and Tom, we were greeted by a fresh layer of snow in the Lake George region and knew it would be a gorgeous day. Robyn and Tom live out of the area, but come to the Adirondacks to vacation often and knew they wanted to wed there. We started the day down in the Sun Castle Town Houses where both Robyn and Tom were getting ready in separate houses. Tom and his guys were laughing it up when we arrived and Tom got dressed while being heckled by his boys. That’s okay, cause Tom can take a joke and is so fun to be around. This guy cracked a smile the entire day; even more when he was around Robyn. Robyn finished her makeup when we arrived and after giving her bridesmaids gifts, we headed up to the Inn for her to put her gown on. The room was lovely and her mom, Tom’s mom and even Robyn’s grandmother were there to help her get dressed. The couple had a first look out on the Inn’s porch and the fresh snow on the ground illuminated every nook and cranny for amazing lit photos. The Inn’s coordinator, Juliana had a golf cart ready to wisk the couple down to the lake for some jaw dropping photos of the couple in front of the snow capped mountains. We had a lot of fun moving about and Robyn was a trooper in that cold. The couple were married on the porch (with the help of heaters) in front of a breathtaking view of Lake George. As the sun set, the wedding moved indoors and guests enjoyed delicious food and dancing to music supplied by the amazing Accents band. It was a gorgeous day and we are so thankful we were able to capture it for you; Robyn and Tom. Wishing you many blessings!
What can we say; we’ve been blessed with some amazing weddings this year. Some have been pretty epic weddings and we think Rachel and Craig’s wedding ranks up there as one. We were all over the capital region for this one and started the day up in Saratoga Springs at the Embassy Suites by Hilton, where Craig and his guys finished getting dressed. The couple gave each groomsmen a custom designed flask with their likeness on them. The guys joked around and had lots of laughs as they toasted the Groom. We then headed to Albany where Rachel and her ladies were finishing the last of their hair and makeup at the Renaissance Hotel. The girls had the entire library floor to themselves, which is such an amazing space. Rachel looked so pretty in her robe, which was made from her own mother’s wedding gown. When you are around Rachel, you just have to smile. She has the brightest, most amazing smile there is and it is contagious when you are with her. After getting into her gorgeous gown, we headed to church where the couple were married in a beautiful Catholic Ceremony in front of close to 300 guests. Parked outside was a vintage car that we had some fun taking pictures around and in before we bopped over to the NY State Capital area and Dept. of Ed. These are classic Albany landmarks and always make for great photos. It was windy and quite cold during picture time so we all worked fast. Keeping the pace and everyone in check for the day was the AMAZING Christine Wheat and Jordan Kratz of CW Special Events. These ladies are top notch and it is so fun working with them. We all headed north to Saratoga where we ended at the Hall of Springs. The Hall was decorated in crystal dripped candelabras and pink toned flowers. The couple enjoyed dancing to music played by Funk Evolution and guests packed the dance floor and headed to Smile Lounge’s photo booth. The evening ended with passed McDonalds food; which the guests LOVED and we thought was such a clever idea by the couple. Thanks again Rachel and Craig for a truly amazing day. You were such a blast and we wish you all the best in your future together.
