Top Actors To Replace Ben Affleck In Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’
Previous1 of 7Next

Ben Affleck is officially out as Batman and it's a pretty sad day.

Words cannot describe how sad I am to see Ben Affleck announce that he's no longer Batman. His Batman is why I do what I do. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, I fell in love with his comic book-accurate interpretation of the Caped Crusader. It was a breath of fresh air and it felt like we finally had the one true Batman.

Three years have quickly sped by and we're officially going to receive a new Batman for his next movie. Last night, Ben Affleck announced that he will not return as the Dark Knight in Matt Reeves' The Batman and now everyone's attention has moved towards wanting to know who the next Bruce Wayne will be. Matt Reeves is said to want an actor that's around 20 years younger than Affleck while Warner Bros. wants someone older. My guess is that Reeves wants a fresh start while the studio wants an older actor for crossover potential.

In this list, I will discuss the actors I think can replace Ben Affleck as Batman using the parameters that Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. want. Hit Next to see our picks to play the Batman.

Michael Fassbender

Michael Fassbender is an X-Men alum and no stranger to comic book franchises. The actor has shown multiple levels of range and could definitely handle the Batman/Bruce Wayne personality. If they go with the older range for the next Dark Knight, then Fassbender is probably one of the best choices to take over the role.

Ben Barnes

Ben Barnes is out of a job after The Punisher season 2 and he's one of the best actors in that series. The second season tied up Barnes' arc on The Punisher and the actor has already told us that that he'd love to play the Caped Crusader. Barnes definitely has the pretty boy look going on for him and I wonder what his take on Bruce Wayne could be.

Ryan Gosling

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Ryan Gosling needs to star in a superhero movie. I've always thought Gosling would make a great Batman. Every role that he's done has shown us his capability and he could crush it as Bruce Wayne.

Jon Hamm

Jon Hamm is my top choice for an older Batman. If Warner Bros. wants to cast an older actor for crossover potential, Jon Hamm is the studio's best bet. He has a similar look to Ben Affleck, and c'mon, the guy's look just screams Bruce Wayne.

Armie Hammer

Armie Hammer is 32 years old and was cast as the Caped Crusader in George Miller's Justice League: Mortal. That film will never see the light of day, but that doesn’t mean that Hammer doesn't deserve a second shot at being the Batman. He's charming, broody and will probably give his all for this role. Armie Hammer is a great option because he's young enough for Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. could work in a way for him to crossover with the rest of the DC Extended Universe.

Avengers: Endgame star Brie Larson wasn’t as surrounded by heroes as she seemed in that Captain Marvel post-credit scene.

Brie Larson debuted her Marvel Cinematic Universe hero Carol Danvers in this year’s Captain Marvel. The film was an origin story for Brie Larson’s character, set in the 1990s. Captain Marvel will next be seen in Avengers: Endgame, which hits theaters tonight.

Brie Larson recently visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote this week’s MCU release, Avengers: Endgame. While talking with Jimmy Fallon, Brie Larson revealed that when she had to film the post-credit scene for Captain Marvel not only was she very confused about what she was even filming, she didn’t even have any actors there to work with. Check out what Brie Larson had to say about the strange process below.

“I didn’t know that was a tag for Captain Marvel. I didn’t know what it was we were shooting. There was nobody else there. I was by myself on a green screen. I walked in, and they were like, ‘Just real quick, we’re just going to whip pan over to you and you’re gonna go, ‘Where’s Fury?’.”

Captain Marvel‘s first post-credits scene featured Brie Larson meeting up with some of the surviving heroes from Avengers: Infinity War, including Captain America (Chris Evans), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson). The scene shows Brie Larson talking with the Avengers briefly but as the actor revealed, the entire moment was brought to life using digital effects.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Avengers: Endgame and Brie Larson’s future as Captain Marvel as soon as more information becomes available. Were you a fan of Captain Marvel‘s post-credit scene? Are you excited to see Brie Larson returning to the role so soon in Avengers: Endgame? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Directed by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.

Netflix has revealed the first full trailer for Lucifer season four.

Gotham is coming to a close tonight but the Batman prequel series is far from the only DC series that Fox has aired over the past few years. Lucifer premiered in January 2016 and went on for an impressive three seasons. Last year, Fox cancelled Lucifer but thanks to Netflix, season four is on the way.

Lucifer features Tom Ellis in the lead role and fans can see him chewing up the scenery in the latest trailer released by Netflix. Check out the first full trailer for Netflix’s Lucifer season four below.

Lucifer | Season 4 Official Trailer [HD] | Netflix - YouTube

After Fox cancelled Lucifer last year, fans were quick to make their disappointed voices heard on social media, just as many Marvel fans did for Netflix shows such as Daredevil and The Punisher. Unlike the pleas for the return of the Marvel Netflix shows, Lucifer was luckily resurrected for fans to enjoy for at least one more season.

Lucifer season four is coming to Netflix this May, right before another famous DC character debuts his new show. At the end of May, Swamp Thing arrives on the DC Universe streaming service. Underworld director Len Wiseman is an executive producer on Swamp Thing and coincidentally, Wiseman was also an executive producer on Lucifer.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Lucifer‘s return on Netflix next month as soon as more information becomes available. Are you looking forward to Lucifer season four’s premiere on Netflix? Which season of Lucifer has been your favorite so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Lucifer season four hits Netflix on May 8.

In the video, Jack Dylan Grazer opened up about his love of Batman. Not only does the Shazam! star love Batman, he’d love to play him one day. This is what Jack Dylan Grazer had to say about possibly becoming Batman.

“I mean, I would love to play Batman one of these days.”

When the topic of Jack Dylan Grazer possibly playing the role of Batman’s sidekick Robin came up, the actor jokingly shut down the casting.

“That’s degrading.”

After admitting that he’d play Nightwing, Jack Dylan Grazer fan-casted his own Nightwing if he were to get the Batman role.

“It would be Timothy Chalamet, and I play Batman.”

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding the future of Shazam! and Batman in the DCEU as soon as more information becomes available. Were you a fan of Jack Dylan Grazer in Shazam!? We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Shazam! is playing in theaters today!

Lawyers have reportedly advised Disney that they can’t even consider developing content based on the Marvel Netflix characters for another two years.

Netflix has ended many fan-favorite Marvel television shows that include Daredevil, The Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. Now, those heroes may be able to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe since their contracts have ended with Netflix, but the transition will not be as easy.

A new report from IndieWire claims that lawyers have even contacted Disney about the future of the Marvel Netflix shows. The report claims that Disney can’t “even think about” developing new projects with the Marvel Netflix characters.

Netflix kicked off its own Marvel universe when Daredevil debuted in 2015, but fans have been hoping to see the famous Marvel Netflix heroes alongside other famous MCU heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Hulk. Disney has helped the Marvel family grow a lot more over the years with its twenty-two interconnected films and most recently acquiring more heroes like the X-Men and Fantastic Four.

What are your thoughts on Disney reportedly not being able to feature the Marvel Netflix heroes in projects for another two years? Are you excited to see Disney and Marvel bring more heroes into their universe? Share your thoughts below!

Here’s the official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Infinity War star Ross Marquand reveals whether or not Red Skull survived Thanos’ snap.

Ross Marquand joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Infinity War as Red Skull after Hugo Weaving’s departure from the role. Ross Marquand surprised many fans in Avengers: Infinity War after appearing as Red Skull, who became the keeper of the Soul Stone.

The last time Red Skull was seen before his cameo in Avengers: Infinity War was during the events of Captain America: The First Avenger, in which he was decimated after coming in contact with the Space Stone. Ross Marquand was recently asked by DubaiLAD whether or not Red Skull survived Thanos’ infamous snap, but it seems he may know as much as fans do. You can view Ross Marquand’s full response below.

“That’s a great question, I have no idea. I don’t know, to be perfectly honest I have no idea, because that was a question that I had as well. But Marvel is very tight-lipped about it, they don’t really reveal a lot of those secrets, so your guess is as good as mine. I have no idea. He might be in the Soul Stone with everybody else, you never know.”

Ross Marquand does not know for sure, but he believes Red Skull could be in the Soul Stone along with other victims. Thanos came into the MCU with full force during the events of Avengers: Infinity War after gathering all infinity stones, helping him complete his goal.

Thanos snapped the lives of many away to bring balance to the universe after viewing overpopulation as a problem, believing things should always be in balance. Even though Thanos may have been successful, that did not stop our beloved heroes from coming together again to bring one last fight to the Mad Titan in Avengers: Endgame.

What are your thoughts on Ross Marquand’s response? Do you hope to see him return as Red Skull in future films? Share your thoughts below!

It was a breath of fresh air and it felt like we finally had the one true Batman.

Three years have quickly sped by and we’re officially going to receive a new Batman for his next movie. Last night, Ben Affleck announced that he will not return as the Dark Knight in Matt Reeves’ The Batman and now everyone’s attention has moved towards wanting to know who the next Bruce Wayne will be. Matt Reeves is said to want an actor that’s around 20 years younger than Affleck while Warner Bros. wants someone older.

A Marvel fan has spotted what appears to be a key detail regarding Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio backstory in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

It’s been a big week for Marvel Studios with the release of Avengers: Endgame tonight and the story doesn’t actually end there for our favorite web-slinger. Spider-Man may have been dusted away in Avengers: Infinity War, but there is still an upcoming sequel in which Spider-Man will be facing off against Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. Now, it seems that Marvel Studios has big plans for Mysterio’s backstory after a fan on Twitter noticed something interesting on a new image or Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. You can view the image below.

It appears that Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio is married during the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Mysterio has appeared in comic books as a brilliant special effects creator that used his abilities to create illusions and becomes a super-villain antagonist for Spider-Man. Doing so Mysterio hoped to gain popularity, but the talented illusionist simply became a villain for our favorite wall-crawler. Now, fans will be able to see the special effects wizard come face to face with Spider-Man after crashing his eurotrip.

What are your thoughts on this Mysterio detail? Are you excited to see Jake Gyllenhaal face off against Spider-Man? Share your thoughts below!

Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, Numan Acar, J.B. Smoove, Oli Hill, Remy Hii, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released in theaters on July 5, 2019.

With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.
