While visiting China to promote Deadpool 2, Ryan Reynolds confirmed that Deadpool 3 is in development by his team.

Actor Ryan Reynolds who, nowadays, is mostly known for interpreting Wade Wilson/Deadpool for FOX and Marvel is in China to promote Deadpool 2. According to Variety, during a presser in Beijing Ryan Reynolds talked about the third installment of the Merc With A Mouth and that it’s already in development by his team. He also said that they were looking to go in a different direction with that film and that he wanted Wilson to be something different before the character grew predictable for audiences:

“His team was already at work on “Deadpool 3,” he added, but didn’t directly address whether it would be made with Chinese censors in mind. He did say, however, that in the third installment, they were “looking to go in a completely different direction,” saying that “often, they reboot or change a character maybe like four movies too late.””

As far as we know, his Deadpool 3 team is comprised by writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. We also know that director Drew Goddard is directing and writing the untitled X-Force film which, according to Reese and Wernick, will come before Deadpool 3. We still don’t know who will be directing the film or if David Leitch will come back. X-Force and Deadpool 3 are somewhat of a question mark at the moment because of the uncertainty that the FOX/Disney merger may bring to the Marvel characters owned by FOX. Nevertheless, it seems that Ryan Reynolds and Co. are not letting go of Wade Wilson any time soon.

Even though the film is out for months now, even with a moderate version of it released in Christmas called Once Upon A Deadpool, a different, more toned down version of it will now premiere in that country due to the fact that Chinese authorities are very strict regarding films shown to their people. That’s why Deadpool 2 will be released as Deadpool 2: I Love My Family in that country; the new title pays homage to a famous Chinese sitcom which ran from 1993 to 1994 that reportedly revolutionized TV in that country.

Do you think X-Force and Deadpool 3 will happen anytime soon? Comment below!

We’ll update you as soon as we know more from Deadpool’s next outing on film. So stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for more!

Previous1 of 4Next

Earlier this week, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Now, Legendary has shared three brand new posters for Rodan, Mothra and Ghidorah. Given that Godzilla will be battling with these monsters in the new film, it makes sense to see them receive their own poster that boasts their size and scale as they unleash their terror against humankind.

You can check out the new posters of Rodan, Mohra and Ghidorah down below by clicking “Next”.

What do you think of these new posters? Are you excited to see the King of the Monsters take the reins in this new sequel? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news from the MonsterVerse.

Directed by Michael Dougherty, Godzilla: King of the Monsters stars Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, O’Shea Jackson Jr., with Ken Watanabe and Ziyi Zhang.

Following the global success of “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be released in theaters on May 31, 2019.

In an open letter posted on his official Facebook account, The New Teen Titans illustrator George Pérez announced his retirement from comic book work and private commissions.

Renowned comic writer and artist George Pérez has worked a numerous for projects for DC and Marvel, including The New Teen Titans and Crisis on Infinite Earths with writer Marv Wolfman. Now, the revered comic book legend has announced that he will retire from comic book work and private commissions due to health issues:

In recent months, there has been a great deal of speculation as to the future of my career, my health, my ability to draw and my future convention appearances. As a result, I would like to clear up everything first hand so that, hopefully, any rumors, speculation and misinformation can be laid to rest.

With respect to future published work in comics and such … while I know it’s been no secret that I’ve been dealing with a myriad number of health issues (diabetes, heart ailments, vision issues, etc.), they have indeed have forced me to, for all intents and purposes, formally retire from the business of creating new comic stories.

As for home commission requests, I’m afraid that my retirement must now extend to privately commissioned drawings as well. While I am gratified that all of the customers who have received their pieces were more than pleased with the results, some even consequently commissioning more of them, it’s just becoming too much of a strain on my eyes to produce the fully rendered ink and pencil-tone pieces on a quality level that justifies the price I’m being paid for them.

You can read the full statement by The New Teen Titans illustrator George Pérez’s in the post below!

George Pérez also confirmed that he will have to scale back on convention sketches and that 2019 will likely be his final year of touring. Pérez concluded his letter by asking fans not to feel sorry for him and expressing his excitement over watching a new generation of fans discover his work:

“Long story short, I will be just fine. I’ve had a wonderfully good run doing exactly what I have wanted to do since I was a child. Now I can sit back and watch the stuff I helped create entertain whole new generations. That’s a pretty nice legacy to look back on.”

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on DC comics, movies, and show, including the live-action Teen Titans series!

Deadline reports a Bumblebee sequel is in development as part of Paramount’s plans for the Transformers franchise.

Paramount’s Bumblebee offered audiences a comparatively smaller and more personal entry in the Transformers franchise that has currently earned $113.9 million domestically and $287.4 million at the international box office. Now, a Bumblebee sequel is reportedly in development at the studio.

Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura discussed how the first film succeeded in the studio’s goals:

“We had many objectives (including) to bring a new set of families into the series, and that succeeded; in the after markets that will continue to succeed in a big way. Part of our obligation was to bring people back who had left the franchise or never experienced it which worked well… We are finding our way. Our intention was we wanted to please the core fans but also bring a new audience.”

Are you interested in seeing a Bumblebee sequel?

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.

Directed by Travis Knight from a script written by Christina Hodson, the film stars Hailee Steinfeld, Pamela Adlon, John Cena, Stephen Schneider, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Jason Ian Drucker, Kenneth Choi, Ricardo Hoyos, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, and Grace Dzienny.

Shazam! is invoking a lot of tributes and acknowledgement of DCEU lore, not the least of which includes references to Superman’s adventures since arriving on Earth. And if the recent TV spot is any indication, there will be plenty of nods to Man of Steel. And Zachary Levi is paying attention to fan creations as well.

Fans have already created various images and gifs that bring Shazam! into the rest of the DCEU fold, but with the recent TV spot, one Twitter user took it upon themselves to combine a moment from Shazam! with Man of Steel. The gif begins and ends with Pery’s conversation with Lois in Man of Steel about her potentially covering aliens. Though the subtitle for Perry’s first line is “So you’re a superhero and you want me to write about you?” We then cut to the scene in the recent Shazam! TV spot with Freddy and Zachary Levi’s Billy Batson in search of a base.

The two respond with an enthusiastic “Yes” to Perry’s question, and then we get the “Never gonna happen” line, which is an actual line from Man of Steel. Here’s the original tweet:

The Daily Planet has high standards. #SHAZAM pic.twitter.com/eOEUjJisxk

— Walt (@UberKryptonian) January 20, 2019

So what does Zachary Levi have to do with this? Well, like David F. Sandberg, the actor takes note of fan creations, and he both retweeted and approved of the combination of Shazam! and Man of Steel, as you can see in his tweet below:

⚡️⚡️https://t.co/z0rL5PfV2Q

— Zachary Levi (@ZacharyLevi) January 21, 2019

While there’s no telling yet just who, if at all, Billy Batson may run into since his world is populated with superheroes, this would no doubt get fans even more excited at the idea of Shazam meeting Superman. Again, the tributes to Man of Steel cannot be an accident or mere coincidence. But still, what do you think of this gif? Would you want to see Shazam meet the Man of Steel and other heroes in the DCEU? And more importantly, would Perry White really not write a story about Shazam!? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

In the meantime, here’s the synopsis for the upcoming DC film:

“We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).”

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Asher Angel, Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.

The film will hit theaters next year on April 5, 2019.

Actress Leslie Jones caused quite a stir two days ago with her remarks on the news that Jason Reitman would be doing a Ghostbusters sequel set in the series’ original continuity. As you can guess, she wasn’t the biggest fan of the news. But one day after she made her remarks, she sought to clarify her original comments and put them in context.

Though it didn’t start like that. A user on Twitter by the name of “maveness” started the conversation by stating that the only reason Leslie Jones got backlash for her Ghostbusters comments is because she doesn’t take the crap from “dudebros.” The user tagged Jones in the tweet and Leslie Jones then responded, saying that, in her opinion, an all-male Ghostbusters film would probably do and be received better than the 2016 film.

This, in her mind, would reinforce the notion that “boys are better.” Leslie Jones did admit that perhaps she could have used different words on the Ghostbusters situation, but remained firm in her feelings. This is one of those instances where you wish Twitter had an edit button, am I right? But anyway, have a look at Jones’ clarification of her original remarks.

It’s very sad that this is response I get. When the point is if they make this new one with all men and it does well which it will. It might feel that “boys are better”it makes my heart drop. Maybe I could have use different words but I’m allowed to have my feelings just like them

— Leslie Jones 🦋 (@Lesdoggg) January 20, 2019

Like most clarifications, it remains to be seen if this will gain as much traction as Jones’ original words. Ultimately, though, it does beg the question of whether a male-Ghostbusters would do better than the female-led. Though it’s entirely possible that Reitman’s film may end up overall better received than the 2016 movie.
