Klairs Supple Preparation Toner – Unscented version launched mid-March this year keeping the sensitive skin in mind. Previously the original Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner was much loved by the user however for the fragrance and essential oil included sensitive skin people was really been able to love it as much as other was loving it. I’ve used quite a few minis of the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner, original version earlier. Never bought a full size because there was always a couple of mini in my stock which I was getting complimentary with purchase from here and there. When the new unscented version came out I was sent one for reviewing purpose. I have mentioned in my early skincare posts (e.g. belif Prime Infusion Ampoules review) that I’ve been trying out this Klairs toner if you’ve noticed. After using Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner – Unscented version, though a comparison between this new unscented version of Klairs toner vs. the original can help you to make the purchase decision regardless if you have a normal or a sensitive skin type.   Ingredients of Klairs Supple Preparation toner – Unscented Water, Butylene Glycol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Natto Gum,Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium […]

Yes, belif Prime Infusion Repair Program Ampoules is an intense 6 week program for anti-aging care. I appreciate that these don’t claim to work magic within a magical time period like one or two weeks like most of the brands/products out there. Don’t get me wrong, I do laugh at when I see anti-aging claims within two weeks. Just being honest! Do you remember I told you guys while reviewing other belif products for oily skin that I’m keen to try out their anti-aging range next? I was definitely eyeing on their Prime Infusion range. It’s a fairly new skincare range by belif that seemed to amazing skin regenerative properties. Thanks to belif Malaysia, I was sent belif Prime Infusion Repair Program Ampoules two+ months ago to give them a try. Right now I’m at the end of the fifth week and from tomorrow I’ll start the last week, will be using the step 3 – Reactivate ampoule. Are you wondering what actually a skincare Ampoules is? Ampoule or ampoules is something similar to essences or serums. However, it’s not the same, an ampoule is a supercharged and targeted serum with higher concentrations of active ingredients. It works usually as a booster within a time […]

Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion is a fairly new product on the market. This lotion is from their Shirojyun range and contains tranexamic acid. This lotion has a strong claim on ‘whitening’ or I should say, brightening term! That special ingredient tranexamic acid does the job to brighten up the skin. Tranexamic Acid was completely an unknown term to me until I was sent this Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion to try out! I obviously googled a bit to know about this acid and how it works. Turns out this particular acid is widely used to treat excessive bleeding. Does that sound weird to you? – It felt not-so-usual to me at least. However, with a bit of further study, it was all clear to me. Tranexamic Acid (trans-4-aminomethyl cyclohexane carboxylic acid) is widely used in Asian skincare, (from Shiseido to Paula’s Choice). It says that a certain percentage of this acid works gold standard for skin issues like hyperpigmentation, melasma and etc. This acid also works for damaged and darkened skin. I wouldn’t go in depth of this specific ingredient of Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion her but talk about the product. After all, I’m no chemist or a skin specialist to point out anything but […]

I took the 2 weeks acne clearing challenge recently by Eucerin ProACNE Solution A.I. Clearing Treatment. Basically, it’s a Moisturizer for acne-prone skin that claims to control oil, unclog pores, visibly reduce acne and prevent them coming back. I was sent this Eucerin Pro Acne Solution anti-acne moisturizer by Eucenrin Malaysia to try it out. The product initially claims to clear out acne within two weeks. I don’t have an acne prone skin to start with. However, I do get one or two acne bumps sometimes due to hormonal changes, for my bad food habit or irregular skincare routine. A couple of weeks ago I got one in my forehead (was sharing about it in my Instagram-stories, if you’ve noticed). Right away I thought this is the perfect time to thy the claim ofEucerin ProACNE Solution A.I. Clearing Treatment.   About Eucerin Skin Care Eucerin is the one skincare brand with “dermo-cosmetic” philosophy. The brand’s origins are in a pharmacy, founded by Paul C. Beiersdorf in 1882, Hamburg, Germany. With its 100 years of Beiersdorf research, Eucerin skin care delivers visibly healthier, radiant skin. Not only female skincare or generalized skincare but Eucerin has developed special wing for men’s skin issues as well since 2010.  […]

Earlier this month I had my personalized facial treatment at Murad Skin, DaMen Lifestyle Mall, KL. I’m still buzzing a little bit from that facial treatment session. It was not my first time doing facial at Murad Skin, I had the experience previously as well. The reason behind going back at Murad once aging obviously because of the benefits I’ve experienced. Thus I thought to write this article featuring Murad facial service so you can have an idea how things are done there. Where it is suggested to do facial treatments once a month but I myself completely ignore that on purpose. Blame goes to busy life schedule as well as I don’t it like to splurge much on a clinical facial treatment. Although I won’t deny that a clinical facial treatment is beneficial to treat skin according to its need. But the less happy fact is that these facial treatments aren’t cheap at all. At Murad Skin I love the fact that they serve just according to the skins current requirements. You can book an appointment at Murad online or offline just to consult with the therapist. Before consulting you won’t know what facial is actually recommended for you. The […]

The post Mad Hippie Advanced Skincare – Vitamin C Serum with Actives | The most Gentle Vitamin C Serum I’ve ever used that works! appeared first on GreenStory

I assume my Title for this article says it all! This Mad Hippie Advanced Skincare – Vitamin C Serum with B Actives (Konjac Root, Ferulic & Hyaluronic Acid) turns out to be the best Vitamin C serum I’ve used so far considering how gently it works on the skin. The other serum I swore by is still holding my favorite position for its fast action but I would rather go with a gentle skincare tan something works fast and hard to maintain.

Mad Hippie, popular as an earth loving skincare brand mostly in the USA. The brand and its ethics are clearly pronounced from its choice of product ingredient to designing the outer packaging. The plant-based ingredients are selected from suppliers with top qualification. Products are vegan and cruelty-free, GMO-free, fragrance-free and non-irritant. The cute and unique packaging is printed using soy inks with 100% wind energy.

The brand has been there for a long time now as I’ve been reading about it on USA skincare blogs. However, I started giving this Vitamin C serum a try since last year, November when Worthee Cosmetics sent a sample product with the news that they are now an authorized retailer of Mad Hippie (along with Paulas Choice, I’ve talked before) here in Malaysia.

I’ve been taking a good amount of time to try out this Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum. I was in a conflict if this serum is really that good as I was feeling or it just a dilemma! It’s been more than two months I’ve been using this serum in my skincare routine. Sometimes I’ve been using it as the only serum in my skincare, sometimes in a rotation with other and sometimes with a gap of a couple of days.

Ingredients of Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum:

Water Deionized, Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate), Alkyl Benzoate, Vegetable Glycerin, Water, Glycerin, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate, Clary Sage (Salvia Sclarea), Grapefruit (Citrus Grandis), Hyaluronic acid, Amorphophallus Konjac Root Powder, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf, Vitamin E (Tocotrienol), Ferulic acid, Chamomile Flower Extract (Recutita Matricaria), Sodium Phytate, Xanthum Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose

Key Ingredients:

Vitamin C  (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%) – A vital element in the production of collagen, vitamin C can reduce the appearance of wrinkles & discoloration, while helping offer antioxidant protection from photoaging – a leading cause of skin aging. Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, a more stable and bioavailable form of Vitamin C than the commonly used L-Ascorbic Acid found in most skin care products. It has the same benefits, without the risk of oxidation and irritation that is often associated with L-Ascorbic Acid.

Vitamin E – Protective antioxidant that has been shown to reduce the appearance of wrinkles & discoloration.

Ferulic Acid – A natural antioxidant found in the cell walls of plants.  When combined with vitamins C & E, Ferulic Acid has been shown to have a compounding antioxidant/UV protective effect.

Hyaluronic Acid – Works to plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.  A naturally occurring substance in the body, hyaluronic acid begins to deplete as we age.

Konjac Root Powder – Exotic flower from Asia, helps to soften & smooth the skin while forming a thin protective barrier.  Rich in nutrients such as copper, zinc, phosphorus, fatty acids, protein, carbohydrates, lipids, potassium, magnesium, iron, niacin, folic acid & vitamins A, E, C, D & B!

Grapefruit – Rich in antioxidants & citric acid, grapefruit helps to remove dead skin cells, acting as a natural exfoliant.

Chamomile Extract – Provides a thin protective shield, while naturally soothing and calming the skin.

Clary Sage – Helps eliminate overly-dry or overly-oily skin.  Acts as natural toner & astringent.

The Key Ingredients here in this Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum features all plant derivates and vegan anti-aging properties. Not only Vitamin C but I love that this serum is also enriched with other beneficial properties like hyaluronic acid, ferulic acid, and actives that work to rejuvenate skin.

Characteristic of Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum:

There are a lot of mumbo-jumbos around the web about vitamin C serum focusing on how it gives you bright and spotless skin. Needless to mention those other vitamin C serums which might work according to the expectation but the price point can give you a punch in the eye.

Does a vitamin C serum really give you spotless and bright (or I should say ‘white’) skin?
– Yes, vitamin C does brighten skin in a combination of science-based ingredients/formula and if you can incorporate it into your skincare in a decent and necessary manner.

Some powerful vitamin C serum gives a visible brightness within a short time but later on, that brightness is just too hard to maintain. Sun and environment will give just the opposite effect of bright skin if skincare ritual is not maintained properly.

To talk about vitamin C, we are always told that allow lights in and the product is spoiled. The vitamin C product itself needs extra care to prevent it from losing its characteristic. Kudos to the stabilized form (based on my little research) of vitamin C and E in Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum that offers the peace to use it without any extra hassle.

The serum does come with a colored bottle like all other Vitamin C serum does. The original color of this serum was a slightly yellowish as the picture shown below. I was skeptical at the beginning but, fortunately, the texture, color or the clarity of it didn’t change a bit until now (3 months approx).

My experience with Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum:

Initially, I love the natural, plant-based formula of Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum and its intensive purposes. The . I can use this serum anytime, am or pm or just in the middle of the day. For being enriched with other skin rejuvenating properties the Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum was just an excellent alternative to other serums that I would use at the same time.

This Vitamin C serum has a lightweight texture, gets absorbed by skin within a minute. No stickiness and no greasiness at all. I found it very comfortable on my skin. Thus I started using it during the day under sunscreen or even under my makeup. While I was trying the serum alone I didn’t use any other serum so I can examine the benefits properly. The serum itself is enough to maintain the moisture balance of the skin throughout the day.

For the night I preferred using a heavy moisturizer like Kiehls Multi-Corrective Cream to ensure maximum skin care benefits I was expecting. And sometimes I did add some other targeted serum before or after (as required) Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum. When using it at night my skin just felt extra better and plumped up every morning.

I didn’t notice any visible effect within a couple of weeks or so. But yes, the serum does effectively helps to even out skin tone. I was able to notice the improvement in my skin after 6/7 weeks of use. And in fact, the healthy glow was beautiful even when I was having a hectic life due to traveling here and there. Added antioxidants, hydrants and other actives were surely balancing my skin from growing further age-sign.

You may wonder,
Does Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum helps to fade spots?

– My answer will be yes. However, it’s complicated in a sense as well.

The sunspots and blemishes I have for a long time they never seemed to fade a bit with this serum. To be honest, those spots eventually never faded with anything so far. There were a couple of spots that I created myself poking some tiny bumps. The serum worked on those spots. My skin went spot free within a week. Normally, it would take me a couple of weeks to get rid of those spots with my regular skincare.

To conclude about this gentle vitamin C serum,

Mad Hippie Advanced Skin Care Vitamin C serum is a targeted Vitamin C serum that contains 10% Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate. It is also enriched with antioxidants and other skin beneficial active ingredients to revitalize skin. The serum has a lightweight texture that sinks into skin fast without leaving any sticky residue. My skin feels moisturized, balanced and even-toned with a regular use. If used twice in a day the effect is more visible. It effectively helps to fade minor spots and prevent fine lines to grow further. It is a gentle Vitamin C serum that works with time but it does work.

Considering how gentle this vitamin serum is on the skin and it’s not heavy or drying, I believe this serum is suitable for all skin types.

Where To Shop & Price?

The post By Wishrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash | Easy & Safe 2-in-1 Skin Exfoliator For All Skin Type appeared first on GreenStory

Have you tried a powder face wash before? I haven’t until I tried this Wishrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash. Only something similar I can recall is Lush Angels On Bare Skin but that was almost a dough like a cleanser. This Green Tea Powder Wash is a barely new product by Wishtrend, launched in November’17 as far as I can remember. I was sent the product for the testing purpose. I was literally dying to try it out but due to the holidays and all, I had to put it aside. And of course, I didn’t want to experience this unique powder wash in a rush.

Since the middle of January’18, I have included the By Wishrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash in my skincare routine. This is simply a daily cleanser that also gently exfoliate skin without irritating skin. Let me tell you how was the journey so far…

Ingredients of Wishtrend Green Tea Powder Wash:

Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder(2%), Lysine HCL, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Sorbitol, Papain, Betaine, Cellulose Gum, Citric Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate.

Raw Ingredients:

There are four kew ingredient in this powder wash as followed –

1. Green tea powder: A powerful antioxidant rich in vitamins such as vitamin A, C, and E. Green tea cleansing is one of the Asian skin care tips for calming and improving skin tone. It gives a relaxing and comforting effect on the skin with the fragrance of green tea.

 2. Papain: Eliminates proteolytic enzymes, old keratin, and skin wastes to improve the skin texture.

 3. Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda): Works as a soft and gentle scrub agent, excellent for blackhead and skin care.

 4. Amino acid surfactants (Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate): A weakly acidic surfactant derived from coconut. Great skin-affinity and excellent moisture retention.

Packaging and Texture:

I simply love the clean packaging of this Green Tea Powder Wash. The bottle is pale green, plastic made, sturdy and lightweight and dispense the powder with and ease. The texture of the powder is not fine but smoothly coarse. Once added to water you’ll get a smooth paste.

I find the bottle very much travel-friendly. For each use, two to three pinch of powder is enough. Accordingly, one bottle of this powder seemed to last for a really long time.

How to use Wishtrend Green Tea Powder Wash:

Take an adequate amount into your hand and use a small amount of water to work up a lather. What I do is wet my face first then pat generous amount of the Green Tea Powder Wash on my face directly. Then wet my hand again and with the water on my hand gently I rub the powder on my face. Because it’s not necessary to add much water and also you don’t want a runny paste. The powder melts away within a second and lathers up. I do this to avoid the mess of lathering up the product first on my hand.

I’ve warm water facility on my basin so I usually use lukewarm water whenever I wash my face. This powder wash is recommended to mix with warm water to activate the enzyme properties in it. However, I guess it’s ok to use normal water as well.

I’ve been using this Wishrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash once a day (morning mostly) when my skin acts normal. For those days when my skin felt a bit sensitive, I skipped using it to avoid further inflammation os such can cause by baking soda in it (I have got a weird feeling about baking soda).

My Experience with Wishtrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash:

First of all, I absolutely love the ‘matcha latte’ smell of this facial cleanser. As I mentioned before, I’ve been using Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash by Wishtrend in my morning skincare routine. When massaging my face with this powder wash, it gives a very gentle exfoliation. My skin feels clean, awake but not dried out afterward.

Baking Soda itself is very popular as a skin exfoliator among skincare junkies although I’ve never tried that method on my skin. Thus I cant tell how baking soda really feels on the skin. However, I liked the feeling of Wishtrend Green Tea Powder Wash. The acidic exfoliation it gives, you can feel on the skin. I can also feel how gentle the exfoliation is. This even feels milder than a regular facial scrub (e.g. Neutrogena Daily Facial Scrub).

It is suggested to avoid skin care products that have exfoliating effects (retinol, high concentration vitamin C, AHA/BHA, etc.) while using the Wishtrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash. Don’t take this as my suggestion at all, just to be honest, I’ve to mention that all this time I’ve been using other exfoliating products but in my pm skincare routine. I love an exfoliating toner for my night time skin care. For the toner, I’ve been using Pixi Glow Tonic and The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toning Solution in a rotation. I was also maintaining a cycle of using Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum and Murad Advanced Active Radiance Serum. Fortunately, I haven’t faced any issue so far. Maybe because I was using them at night and not just right after the powder wash.

As because it is an exfoliating cleanser, it does help to maintain a bright and even skin tone. Accordingly hepls to improve skin texture. I find this cleanser really helps to keep whiteheads and blackheads on the bay if used regularly. The cleanser gives a proper clean face but you don’t expect it to clean a full-on makeup face.

To conclude,

I simply love this powder face wash if you ask me only about powder face wash types [yes, this is the only powder wash I’ve used so far]. I couldn’t find a single bad side of it. In fact, think this face wash can be the best option for youngsters who are busy in daily life and don’t want to bother with an extra step of exfoliation, be careful not to use it more than once a day.

Nonetheless, If you want me to pick between a regular face wash and a powder wash then I’ll definitely stick to a gel type facial cleanser. By Wishtrend Green Tea and Enzyme Powder Wash is indeed a good cleanser but activating the powder just feels slightly extra work to me. Forget my personal psychology and do give it a try if you haven’t tried it yet.
