With every season, there comes a new fashion trend to follow. Eye-make up is one of the most important categories stealing the highest priority when it comes to face make-up. Defining the eye region holds prime importance when one is trying to get the perfect glam look. With many eye-trends that have been tried and tested, the newest and favourite one is the Anti-Smokey Eye Trend.

The Anti-Smokey Eye is the concept of doing away with the intense strokes of eyeliner and instead defining the upper and lower eye lids with soft and misty eye shadow. Around the late seventies, this eye trend was famous and was adopted by many celebrities and women in those days. The trend is now making a grand comeback for women who would like to opt for a classy yet simpler eye-look.

For those who are willing to try out the new trend, we would suggest for you to firstly choose lighter eye shadows or even sparkle-dusted shades which are a good option. One could blend in the strokes on the eye in a muddled manner rather than harsh lines. Thus, to enhance the look you could opt for a tighter brush and blend the whole eye colour which would then create a soft-focus. To obtain a silky-base to the eye, applying a bit of translucent powder to the lids before the eye-shadow is a good way to maintain the look as well as reduce on the jazziness. It also remains crucial to choose the right blend of colours for your eye-shadow. And thus, mixing two colours to create a blended effect is an idea worth trying as far as you are sure that it’s the right fix.

Among many trends, choosing the right look which suits your complexion, your face type and your outfit is important. While getting your makeup done or doing it yourself, weigh out the look that you want for yourself and guide the make-up artist to define your eye in a way where it remains subtle but still stands out for its simplicity.

Do we hear you trying out the new trend yet!?

Monsoons mean a lot of different things to different people. To some is the a welcome reprieve to the sweltering heat of the summer, an escape from the perpetually sunny days and a time to indulge in some piping hot chai and pakoras without any guilt. While to others this season only means mud stains on their clothes, running makeup, especially mascaras and liners, and a fear while wearing your best shoes and clothes without getting them soaked and ruined.

But this monsoon is going to be much different. We have a list of five must-have monsoon beauty products, that will save you a lot of time and energy, throughout this rainy season.

  • Mascara: Invest in a good quality waterproof mascara this monsoon season. A waterproof mascara is not only a good investment for the monsoons but will also be a great makeup bag element throughout the year. Simply applying a mascara can help you look more put together even on days when you’re not wearing any makeup. A Maybelline Volume Express Hyper-Curl Waterproof Mascara is a pocket friendly yet high quality product to have. Buy it here – http://bit.ly/2sxWJfQ

  • Liner: This is the product that we have the most issues with during monsoons. If nothing else a running liner is enough to ruin your day. Good waterproof liners are difficult to find. But certain liners have a reputation to last you throughout your day. The Lakme Shine Liner Liquid liners offer you a wide range of colours and also the benefit of being long lasting. During the monsoons we all need a bit of colour to brighten our days. Buy it here – http://bit.ly/2skAWIX

  • Compact: Due to the rise in humidity during the monsoons, your makeup becomes runny almost as soon as you step outside your house. A good compact should always accompany you in your purse at all times during this season. The Maybelline White Super Fresh Compact is a product that many vouch for. It comes in four different shades, so you can find the shade that matches your tone the best. Buy it here – http://bit.ly/2J0W8ye

  • Blush: We all need a bit of colour in the monsoons. With no sun coming out for days on end, our complexions tend to get a little pasty during this season. However, be sure to steer clear of powder blushes, because they get cakey easily due to the humidity. Instead, opt for cream blushes. The Blush Palette by the Makeup Revolution works really well because you get a number of different shades all in one palette. Buy it here – http://bit.ly/2H8Ybu2

  • Lipstick: Glossy lips are big no-no during monsoons, instead opt for matte lipsticks in popping colours like bright reds, pinks and even oranges to add a bit of colour to your look. The Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick is a product that will last you well during this season. It comes in a wide range of shades so there is something for everyone. Buy it here – http://bit.ly/2JfvtNt

If you’ve got these five products in your bag, you can create any look, anywhere and you also won’t have to worry about it running down your face because of the rains.

If you haven’t been living under a rock, you know that Korean beauty is THE trending thing in skincare right now. The internet and everyone on it is raving about the mind blowing effects of following Korean skincare routines and using Korean skin care products. But is there any truth to these flying rumours that Korean skincare is the only skincare you need?

Korean skincare got its fame when people saw the beautiful clear skin that Korean women boast of. They claimed that their special skincare routines and products are the only secret to their flawless skin and the rest of the world jumped on their bandwagon.

But, is it all really worth the fuss? What does Korean beauty have that other beauty products lack? Here are the answers.

  1. Korean culture takes skincare very seriously. Kids in Korea are taught skin care techniques like moisturizing, exfoliating and using sunblock right from a very young age, and its not just women who take care of their skin. Men in Korea are said to spend the highest portion of their income on skincare than anywhere else in the world. As a result, they have developed highly effective techniques and products for flawless skin.
  2. Since skincare is such a huge part of Korean culture and everyone in the country uses it, it also comes at reasonable prices. Korean beauty products will not only give you perfect skin, they will also not make a dent in your pocket.
  3. Korean beauty products are mostly made, or infused with natural ingredients. This is one of the reasons why they are so effective in treating skin problems such as acne, pigmentation and aging.
  4. Now that Korean beauty has received such fame all over the world, it is easily available all over the world. If you’re interesting in diving onto the Korean beauty bandwagon, Innisfree and The Face Shop are two brands that easily available on the internet and they are affordable too.

In conclusion, Korean beauty is really worth all the fuss that is going on around it. If you haven’t tried it yet you’re really missing out. This is an investment in skincare that you will not regret.

Skincare is a very important part of daily routines. Our face is our most precious asset and we should take care of it like take care of our precious jewels. The skin on our faces is lathered with a lot of substances on a daily basis, ointments, creams, makeup, dust and pollution. With all this, it is very important that we use the right products at the right time and most importantly at the right age.

Skincare in your teens should be very different from skincare in your 20s. Your teens are all about taking care of your skin and its many problems. When you hit puberty, your skin goes through many changes. You have to face problems like acne, blackheads and pimples. You need to take very good care of your skin during this stage of your life, if you don’t you may have to live with scarring for the rest of your life.

Your 20s are very different. Your skin has mostly settled into itself. You don’t really have a lot of skin problems, so the only thing you need to concentrate of taking care of, and nourishing your skin and helping it grow radiant. If you take the right care of your skin in your teens you won’t really have to do a lot of treatments in your 20s. Your twenties are also the time when you should in products that help with ageing, wrinkles and pigmentation, things that will help you as you age.

Here is what should remain the same and what you should change in your skincare routines from your teens to your 20s.

  • Face Wash: You should always use a gentle face wash on your skin. In your teens you should use face washes with ingredients like neem, tea tree oils and turmeric, ingredients that help fight skin problems like acne. In your 20s you should switch to a face wash which has ingredients like orange, strawberry and chandan, ingredients that aid with ageing and make your skin tighter.
  • Sunscreen: This is something you should never change in your routine. No matter what age you are, you should always wear sunscreen every time you step out of your home, no matter what the weather is like.

  • Face Masks and Treatments: In your teens, you shouldn’t really experiment too much with your skin as it is still developing. You should stick to a simple skincare routine, that doesn’t include too many products. In your twenties you should switch to a more stringent routine. You should use a face mask with ingredients like green tea, vitamin e or aloe.

In your 20s, wearing makeup is inevitable, hence you should use switch to a stringent skincare routine. You should moisturize your skin really well and keep it well hydrated when you wear makeup.

Skincare in the 20s and 30s is quite different to say the least. At one point of time in your life you barely care about your skin, but once you reach your 20s you realise that it’s high time you took matters in your own hands.

Recently, I asked my followers on Instagram to send their skincare routine. It’s amazing to see how people in the same age group use different skincare products and have a routine of their own. This proves that everyone has different skin and you cannot use the same products / methods for better skin. It’s very important to experiment with different products to know what’s best for you!

Skincare in your 20s.

@giasaysthat’s Morning routine:

I start off by washing my face using Kama Ayurveda foaming face wash (a new find) in the morning and then move on to Emolene Moisturizer. This moisturizer was suggested by a dermatologist and is perfect for sensitive skin.

Night time routine: I am a huge fan of Korean products and have been using them for the past 6 years. I started off with facemasks and then moved on to serums.

My night time routine consists of 3 products:

  1. Bioderma Makeup remover: Removes your waterproof makeup in one swipe. Again, great for sensitive skin!
  2. Missha Time revolution night repair serum: It contains hyaluronic acid, Glycerine and Vitamin C which moisturises, soothes and improves skin’s texture
  3. Pure Vitamins C Serum: Vitamin C is so beneficial for your skin as it helps to even out your skin tone and also lighten any type of marks / pigmentation.

That was just my routine and now here is what my beautiful followers shared:

@rutvikakar suggests to clean the face before applying makeup in the morning and to clean the makeup off your face at night with the cleanser.

@riyanatta says for her sensitive skin in the morning she uses Aroma magic neem and Tea tree face wash and applies Aloe Vera gel. Her night time routine includes massaging of ice cubes and applying Aloe Vera gel with 2 drops of Rose Oil by Nykaa.

@ayeshadas1990 uses Lakme facewash in the morning and tones her face with Biotique bio cucumber pore tightening toner and Biotique honey toner, followed by moisturizing. She says Plum vitamin E luminescence cream works beautifully for her dry areas. For her night time routine she uses the same face wash and toners. She then uses two creams Plum grape seed and sea buckthorn night cream and Plum vitamin E luminescence cream. She uses an eye cream from Vaadi Herbals and says it’s good.

@jain_harshita She uses a mild scrub from Khadi India or any other mild face wash. She then uses a cucumber toner from Kiehl’s followed by spot reduction from Kiehl’s, which she tops it with Dramatically Different lotion from Clinique. She uses a sunscreen from Innisfree and tells me that it’s “BOMB”. For her night time she removes her makeup with Bioderma sensible h2o followed by a mold mask, then uses the same toner and spot reduction treatment as mentioned above. Lastly she uses Midnight recovery concentrate from Kiehl’s.

@vartikayaduvansh says she starts her routine by applying rose water and then a medicated moisturizer followed by Rosebud Salve lipbalm and Dry Touch sunscreen. For her night routine she simply just washes her face and applies coconut oil with a few drops of essential oils.

@shahkruti ‘s morning routine starts with massaging ice cubes on the face followed by Himalaya Aloe Vera facewash, Himalaya Day Cream and Biotique Carrot Sunscreen. For her night time routine she uses the same facewash followed by facial oil from Kama Ayurveda- Nalpamaradi Thailum with coconut oil or sometimes uses Biobloom facial oil, finishing her routine with Night cream and Eye cream from Himalaya.

@fazna_7577 cleanses her face with Green gram powder and uses a mixture of Oats and yogurt on alternate days. For her day time routine she moisturizes her face with Face Shop’s Jeju Aloe Fresh Soothing Gel followed by applying a medicated sunscreen. For her night time routine she uses a mixture of Gram powder with Multani mitti followed by Juicy Chemistry Cell Construction Serum and uses La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo(+), on alternate days.

@myeemanyloves uses The Face Shop rice water brightening cleanser and then The Face Shop brightening toner followed by The Face Shop white seed brightening serum, Avene compensating cream and Innisfree water based sunscreen. Her night time routine includes Kama Turmeric brightening soap and then Avene thermal spring water, followed by Kama Kumkumadi oil and Kiehl’s creamy Avacado eye treatment. Lastly she uses a Bobbi brown lip balm.

@khushbooo_dixit tones her face with rose water that is diluted in lemon after which she applies a layer of Sebamed gel and the sunscreen with SPF50. For her night time routine she uses the same toner and the some essential oil in Tea tree or turmeric, followed by Natural Bath and Body’s whipped vitamin E and Vitamin C cream mixed together.

@mypinkhaze uses Kaya brightening beads cleanser in the morning and then the Revivre face serum with SPF 15. For her night time routine she just cleanses the face and applies sheet mask followed by an Aloe Vera soothe gel from Cheryl’s cosmetics which she loves! She also uses a daily pore minimizing toner from Kaya.

@i_m_alphawoman applies Aloe Vera pulp with 1 vitamin E capsule everyday at night which hydrates the skin and removes acne. She also uses this in her hair which makes her hair silky. The name of the capsule said by her is called Evion600 Vitamin E.

@mylovechronicles uses Forest Essential facewash. She also uses Kashmiri Saffron on her good days and uses Tea Tree face wash from Body Shop when she has breakouts. For her night routine she uses Garnier or Bioderma Makeup remover followed with the same face wash and tones her face by applying Body Shop drops of Youth night cream. She uses Physiogel Lotion if she is having a bad skin.

@ankitaa.das uses Neutrogena face wash followed with Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. She then tones her face with Clarins Paris toning lotion with Camomile. For pigmentation treatment she uses Alpha Arbutin and Shiseido Ibuki for moisturizer. Her night time routine includes face wash, toner and moisturizer same as mentioned above.

Skin care in 30s.

@headturnermakeovers starts by washing her face with Kama Ayurveda’s rose face wash, then tones by spraying rose water which she taps until absorbed (she says that tapping helps with blood circulation). That is followed by Clinique’s eye cream and Biluma skin cream (suggested by her dermat) and finally applies sunscreen. For her night routine includes the same cleansing, toning, under eye cream and moisturizer for which she uses Cetaphil and lastly Vaseline lip balm.

@spicy_heels’s current morning routine includes Tea Tree face wash and scrub followed by Cetaphil Moisturizer and Avene sunscreen. For her night time routine she uses the same face wash and applies the same moisturizer with Vitamin E oil.

@finding_felicity_starts her morning routine by using a mild cleanser post which she applies a toner (either tea tree, rose water or mogra water), she says toner is an important step as it conditions and preps the skin pores. She then moisturizes. She either washes her face or uses blotting paper if it’s too humid. For her night routine she uses a home-made coffee scrub that rose, lavender essential oils and vitamin E. She uses that to remove the grime and hydrates at the same time. She uses the same toner followed by a gel-based hydrant. She sometimes also uses a sheet mask before going to bed.

It’s that time of the year when all of us our ready to take off on vacation. Schools and colleges are about to wind up for the year and most people working with you are going on leave. If you too are ready to take off on your yearly vacation, we have a guide for you that you will thank us for later.

One thing that we tend to neglect when we’re on vacation is our skin. Travelling, dust, change of water and most importantly diet can have an adverse effect on your skin. We obviously can’t carry our whole kit of skin care products everywhere we go, but that does not mean we cannot keep our skin looking perfect when we travel.

Here’s a guide to in-flight beauty essentials that will have your skin looking clear and perfect in all your vacation pictures. Flights, especially long flights can dry out your skin, since there isn’t much to do on long haul flights anyway you can use this time to treat your skin. Here are some things that you need to put in your carry on to treat you skin on your flight.

  1. Facial wipes – Any beauty routine needs you to start with a clean face, facial wipes will come in handy if you’re not a fan of airplane toilets. It is also the first step to inflight facial treatment.

Link – https://amzn.to/2viK3hr

  1. Exfoliating toning pads – After you clean your face, you need to deep clean it too. An exfoliating toning pad will clean your pores. This isn’t an essential step and can be skipped.

  1. Sheet masks – If you haven’t jumped onto the sheet mask wagon already, it isn’t too late. Sheet masks are a great way to treat your face. They leave your skin feeling hydrated and smooth, and since flights dry out your skin, these are must-have for every flight you take.

Link – https://amzn.to/2EMJonO

  1. Lip balm – The airplane air dries out your lips as well, so having a lip balm handy on your flight is a necessity.

  1. Handcream – Nobody wants to kick off their vacation with dry hands, it is essential to travel with a good hand cream whenever you take a flight.

Winter is going away and giving way to our oh so favourite Summer! While we all are happy to have sunny days ahead, its dreadful to think of the hot and sultry weather that is here to ruin our glamourous attires and makeup. We list down a step by step guide on better ways to applying your makeup which will last all day long.

  1. Invest in the perfect Primer & Foundation

The most important step of makeup is setting the base right. All we need you to do is invest in the perfect oil-free primer that suits your skin type and follow it up with a light-weighted concealer, while ending with a silicone-based foundation which matches your skin tone.

Primer: Revlon Photo Ready Perfecting Primer

Foundation: MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation Fond De Teint

  1. Skip your favourite Powder

We know that your face powder is dear to you. But that is what brings out the cakey look which is a total no-no! Skip your powder routine and we assure you that if the base is done right, then you are good to go!

  1. Switch to Liquid Liners & Waterproof Mascara

We all love those smudge-proof pencils. However, in times of excessive sweating even those smudges and give up. Opting for waterproof liquid liners and mascara is your best bet as it gives the perfect shape and is sure to last all day.

Liner: Maybelline New York Gigi Hadid Eyeliner, Black

Mascara: Lakme Eyeconic Lash Curling Mascara Black

  1. Shift to Gel & Cream based Eye-Shadows

This summer we suggest you to choose gel and cream-based eye-shadows. One can find them in almost all shades and are easy to blend into your base. They also last longer as compared to the powder shadows which crack up in case of sweating.

Cream Eyeshadow: Maybelline 24 Hour Eyeshadow, Tough as Taupe

  1. Opt for Sorbet Colours

We aren’t saying no to your favourite Reds and Pinks! But with sunny days and women opting for bright coloured attires, we suggest you tone down on the makeup. Sorbet colours is your way to go and they look flawless on all skin tones.

Makeup will always do the trick. But it’s important to drink lots of water to have healthy and flawless skin from inside.

Want to colour your hair but worrying about the fade-off phase? Well, we are here to help you with simple tricks on how to make your hair colour last longer! No more resisting, go ahead and colour your manes with the ever-so-famous unicorn shades.

  1. Use the right Shampoo and Conditioner

With so many products in the market, we urge you to use the ones specialised for coloured hair. Even better, ask your hair stylist to suggest the ones best suited for your hair type and should be sensitive to your scalp.

  1. Say no to Hot water baths

No matter how relaxing hot water baths are, they make your hair and skin more prone to damage and your hair colour fades away faster. Switch to lukewarm or cold-water baths which is great for your mane, doesn’t affect the colour and is refreshing too.

  1. Adopt the desi way of Oiling your hair

Oiling your hair could be a task especially when it comes to removing it. But a warm coconut hair oil massage once a week is no harm as it helps in blood circulation from the scalp to your hair tips and keeps your hair colour in check.

  1. Heat Styling Products is a complete No – No

Who doesn’t love straight hair? However, the biggest culprits are hair straighteners, curlers and dryers which damage the hair excessively due to extreme heat with an addition to pulling and over-brushing the hair. Instead, opt for a leave-in mouse and flaunt your waves and curls just the way they are!

  1. Protect your hair from Pollution

The best way to protect your coloured hair from pollution is to invest in a hair spray which is SPF proof that will protect it from the sun, or wear a hat/scarf and keep your hair tied up while travelling to avoid harsh winds blowing through them and leaving them tangled.

Keeping your mane healthy and luscious is important and that is why investing in the right products and drinking lots of water is the way to go!
