Technological innovations have brought ease and convenience to people, especially when it comes to using vehicles. Today, vehicles’ parts and components have also improved to provide a more cost-friendly and power-efficient driving experience. This is where a battery isolator kit comes into play. The introduction of a battery isolator allows you to use gadgets and other embellishments in your auto while keeping your battery fully charged.

If you haven’t heard about battery isolator kits before, here’s what you have to know about them and why you need one for your car these days:

What is a Battery Isolator Kit?

Typically, a battery isolator kit gives you everything you need for the isolation of two batteries so you can charge them independently using an alternator while isolating the starting battery from the second one. The battery isolators are equipped with hybrid technology and state-of-the-art processes that enable one battery to provide power to auxiliary items and the other for the
vehicle itself.

Moreover, this electronic device kit is packed in a great transport case that allows you to simply keep them in a truck or under your car seat. Some vehicles that can get the most out of a battery isolator include boats, cars, ATVs, RVs, trucks, motorcycles, and many more.

If you consider having a battery isolator kit for your car, many companies and manufacturers offer a range of electronic voltage converters and other related products that you can choose from.

The Importance of Using a Battery Isolator Kit

There’s a wide range of benefits that come with using a battery isolator kit. Compared to a single standard battery, this device can provide an extended life for the main battery and protect it from failure.

Here’s why you need a battery isolator kit for your vehicle:
1. Offers Additional Charging Feat
With a battery isolator kit, you can charge a secondary battery from your vehicle’s electrical charging arrangement. Since most cars come with an alternator, which is responsible for controlling the flow of power and voltage output, then the setup of this electronic device kit can guarantee the proper distribution of power supply for your automobile.
2. Enables You to Use Gadgets and Extras in Your Car
Again, a battery isolator kit can allow you to utilize extras and gadgets in your vehicle without the need to separate them from the power framework. When the motor of your car starts to run, the device will generate sufficient voltage to serve many extras and gadgets being used in your vehicle. Also, another good thing about using a battery isolator kit is that you can still get the
most out of the auxiliary battery even if you stop the motor.
3. Prevents Unexpected Battery Failure
Life on the road isn’t easy. It requires an adequate amount of driving, which means you have to get your batteries fully charged to improve their power efficiency. However, a single standard battery isn’t an endless source of power for your vehicle. This is where a battery isolator kit enters the picture. This electronic device kit, for instance, protects your batteries from unexpected failure. It prevents your main battery, which runs your vehicle, from being completely depleted. With the additional power source the battery isolator kit provides, you can ensure that your extended or long hours of driving will not ruin your primary battery.
4. Serves as a Dual Battery Relay
A battery isolator kit can act as a dual battery relay for your vehicle. It allows you to separate the secondary battery from the primary electrical power system. The isolation will make sure that the auxiliary battery will not experience a discharge from the moment you start your car or use other devices.

Things You Need for the Installation of a Battery Isolator Kit

Now that you’re aware of the essential benefits of using a battery isolator kit, it’s time to take your car to the next level by proceeding with the installation of the said device. Below are the things you may need to install a battery isolator kit:

  • Battery Cable
  • Zip Ties
  • Fuse or Circuit Breaker
  • Deep Cycle Battery
  • Battery Terminal Lugs
  • Cordless Drill
  • Multimeter
  • Mechanic’s Toolbox
Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a perfect device that can preserve power in your car’s battery, then using a battery isolator kit can be a great option. Even if you’re traveling for long hours in areas where you may not get sufficient sunlight, this electronic device can ensure you’ll have electricity on the road in any condition. So, keep the information above in mind about why you need a battery isolator kit for your car.

Image source The way we shop has evolved thanks to the power of the internet. Where in the past we would have trailed out to the high street or to the supermarket for the essential and non-essential items we wanted, in today's modern society, we need only sit back in the comfort of our homes and complete our shopping needs at the click of a button. Of course, this isn't so great for high street retailers, although many of them have also set themselves up with a website to ensure they have a survivability in business. And when it comes to shopping, this also relates to our motoring needs. Not only can we buy car parts online, as well as any fancy gadgets we might choose to pimp our rides with, but we can also buy a car online as well. Whether we are looking to buy something new straight from the manufacturer, or something that is second-hand, and perhaps more attuned to our budget, we need only head online to do a Google search to find what we are looking for. This can give us the opportunity to widen our search parameters, so rather than scour our town and city for a decent motor, we can, thanks to the internet, widen our geographical search to include other parts of the country. Still, while buying a car online offers us choice and convenience, there are risks involved in doing so. We will look at some of them in this article, with a handy list of do's and don'ts that we hope will help you the next time you're on the lookout for a new motor. Do shop around
There are hundreds of car websites online, whether you're looking for classified listings for something cheap and second-hand, or looking at dealer websites on the hunt for something new or approved used. We have just linked in Land Rover's site, but you might also want to check out other popular websites, such as Autocar and Auto Trader which cover nearly all models and price ranges for the potential car buyer. When you're shopping around, be sure to make a note of the cars you like online, and then do a Google search for those sites that might offer you a more attractive price for the type of car you are interested in. You can then do as we suggest below and narrow down your search on your hunt for a car. Do narrow down your search
Choice can be a blessing and a burden. While there are hundreds of websites available to you, you might eventually get overwhelmed with the choice of cars on offer. Therefore, narrow down your search, and in either the Google search engine or the relevant site's search parameter, enter such details as the price, car model, and location to place a limit on your options. You might then have less trouble finding the right car for you and coming to a decision, and hopefully, you will then be able to pick up your new car in no time. Don't forget to commit to research
Image source: Thanks to the internet, you also have the opportunity to check out reviews and media reports of the cars you are interested in. This is especially useful, as while you should make the effort to see the car you are buying before purchase, you don't want to waste your time travelling across the country only to decide you don't like the car when you're up close and personal with it. Therefore, look for buyers guides online. Read consumer and expert reviews. And check news reports for common car faults prevalent within the brand and model you are considering. Think about your criteria too, and create a checklist. Is the car right for your family's needs? Is it economical to run? Does it have the latest safety features installed? You have Google at your disposal, as well as the wisdom and opinion of the car buying public, so do as much research as you can. This will help you narrow down your search further, and when it comes time to visit the car, there will be less chance of you leaving disappointed. Don't forget to check the car's history
So, you have scoured the internet, and you have Googled every conceivable search term to help you narrow down your search, and you have finally found the car you like. That's great news, but you still need to keep your fingers at the keyboard before you commit to a decision. While you will have less to worry about when buying something brand new, you do need to check the history of a car if you're buying it second-hand. The owner should have the vehicle history report, and they might even email you a copy if you want to see it before visiting the car. However, you can also run some online checks too. These include an MOT Search, as if you have the registration number to hand, you can easily find out whether the car has passed or failed its MOT, and check on the car's mileage. You should also do an HPI Check, as this is an effective way to discover vital information about the car you want to buy. Has it been stolen? Has it been involved in an accident? Is there outstanding finance on the car? By running the check, you will find out what you need to know. It's better to discover any problems early, because if you are considering buying the car sight unseen (please don't), or if you don't want to travel the country to discover a potential lemon when you get there, you will waste less of your time and money if you do the necessary checks first. Do contact the seller
Image source You won't have the car directly in front of you, so to find out more, you will have to contact the seller, be that through a phone call, email, or social media message. Ask as many questions as are necessary, and try to get as much info as you can about the car. You might ask about the number of previous owners, for example, or ask about any possible faults. If you don't like what you hear, then you can continue your search elsewhere, without having wasted your time travelling to see a car you don't like. On the other hand, you might be very interested in what you hear, and that might give you the impetus to visit the car for a better look. Of course, while it shouldn't be said, don't forget to be careful in your dealings with the seller. If he or she asks you to send a down payment for the car over the phone or online, don't do it, even if they pressure you by telling you they have had other offers. While the seller might be perfectly honest and genuine, you might also fall prey to a car scam such as this one. It's a scary thought, so don't be afraid to refuse the option. You might only be short of both cash and a car, otherwise! Don't buy the car sight unseen
While there might be less risk when buying something brand new, buying a car sight unseen is something you should never do when buying something used. We advised against this in one of our previous points, and for good reasons. You might end up with something that isn't' comfortable to drive. It might have faults you weren't previously aware of. And you might have a harder time returning it and getting your money back if you aren't happy for any reason, especially when dealing with private sellers. As we suggested, you might also be the subject of a scam if you part with your cash sight unseen too! The expense of travelling across the country to see a car is worth it and for obvious reasons. You will be able to test drive it for one thing, and this will give you the opportunity to check it for comfort, as well as any fault signs, be they obvious or hidden. You will also get the opportunity to check the car's bodywork for any signs of damage. You will also get to meet the seller and check essential paperwork first-hand. If you like what you see, then fine. You will be able to drive it home if you came by train, or you can arrange for car transport so you can have the motor delivered to you at a convenient date. But if you don't like what you see, or if you have any doubts after a first visit, you then have the opportunity to continue your search or have more time to think about the car you have seen. Finally
Buying a car can be a stressful and time-consuming process, and while shopping online might make life a little easier for you, you should still take care when deciding what to purchase. We hope our advice here has been helpful to you, but let us know what you think. And if you have any other advice for our readers, especially if you have ever bought a car online, be sure to share your wisdom with us. Thanks for reading, and all the best if you're currently in the car buying process.

Whether you’ve been convinced by the blog that a Land Rover simply makes sense as a purchase (good for you, if so), or you’re looking to replace a model that’s seen better days, it’s time to buy. However, you shouldn’t rush into the decision. That’s an easy way to get stung by a deal not at all in your favour. While a Land Rover might be an investment worth making, it’s still one that you can make a little more wisely than most drivers. Here are a few tips to ensure you’re getting the best car for your money.

Know how to negotiate

When it comes to dealers, their aim is to get you to pay as much for a vehicle as they can. It’s the nature of the game and it pays to remember that. So, have a strategy for you’re going to haggle them in the opposite direction. Knowing which extras you do and don’t want ahead of time, as shown at Exchange and Mart, can help you avoid getting roped into unnecessary expenses. If you know that the model of Land Rover you want is outgoing, you can use that to your advantage, as they’ll want to shift the inventory before the new stock arrives. Timing is important, too. Buying at the end of the month, quarter, or year means they’re more likely to want more sales to meet their timed sales targets and might go down on price as a result.

Don’t forget the used market

Land Rovers are very reliable vehicles, indeed. This means that it doesn’t necessarily have to be a brand-new purchase in order to get the most out of your drive. You should do your research on different used car sellers around you such as Hilton Garage and see how much you’re able to knock off the price by getting one that’s a year or two older. If you are going used, it’s a better idea to do it off the private market, too. Used cars from dealers are tried and tested, whereas if you buy from a private owner, you never quite know what you’re going to get from your purchase.

Mind how you fix it

If you’re buying a used Land Rover than you plan on making some improvements for or you simply want to control your running costs, being careful of how you get your parts is always wise. A trusted mechanic might sell you great parts, but they often come with a markup that make them more expensive than they need to be. Instead, you should consider looking at buying car parts online for reliable, cost-effective suppliers. It can make it a lot easier to keep your Land Rover cheaper in the long run.

As mentioned, the costs of car ownership go a lot further than just how much you buy it for. Learning how to drive efficiently and to maintain thoroughly are going to keep the costs of your car down for a lot longer, too.

When it comes to buying car parts online, you can quickly end up buying a box of nuts and bolts with just a picture of the part. Or the part is ‘sold as seen,’ but you didn’t get to see that big rusty hole in the bottom. How do you tell when something is too good to be true, and something is a great deal?

Photo by Jan de Keijzer on Unsplash

There are a lot of questions that you should answer before you buy anything online, and you should spend some time on research too. There are a lot of parts from breakers yards, secondhand, new, no-name and of course rip off merchants. So think about the following:

  • What parts will fit and be suitable for my vehicle?
  • Will the cheaper option be worth it in the long run? What are the reviews like?
  • If I buy a no-name/unbranded item will it fit as well as the original?
  • What is the return policy for the item?
  • Delivery time?

There are of course many more questions to be asked, but that is a start.

Here is how to maximize your search.

Be sure of what you want before you start. When you go shopping for food, you make a list and check things off as you go- try to do the same here. In the end, the goal is to get the part you need, within your budget, and in the delivery time that you need. Don’t spend time browsing after you’ve found what you need or you’ll spend more than you want. If you're going to buy tires online, let that be the focus.

Always read the reviews. There will be plenty of glowing ones, sure - because plenty of people did have great experiences. But, read the ones that did and see if there is a common complaint that they had. If it seems hit and miss, with a big mix of high and low recommendations, it is prudent to give it a miss.

Customer service is terrific - when you are about to spend money, but after that, it can take a turn for the worst. Check that you can return faulty products, things that don’t fit or it might even be that you purchased the wrong set. It can be a costly mistake not to be able to return something that you have no use for. Follow-up care matters a lot so make sure you are getting what you pay for.

There is a lot that you don’t know about your car and the part you need, and some establishments are tempted to recommend things that you just don’t need. So before you settle on anything, give a few places a call. They should have an experienced team available to take your call and guide you with the best products.

Even on their best day, a company can get it wrong. They might send the wrong part, or perhaps it has been damaged in transit - because human error is a thing, even when we shop online. But stay focused, be clear about what you need and your budget and you should have a successful buying ‘trip.’

Looking to buy a Land Rover? Perhaps it’s your first Land Rover, or you’re upgrading your existing model - whatever the reason, would you consider buying second-hand?
Buying a used car is a great way to become a Land Rover owner, allowing you to enjoy a high-quality vehicle without the price tag of a brand new car. Want to know why pre-loved is best? Here are some of the benefits of buying a preloved Land Rover. Image Credit: Unsplash under Creative Commons Cars depreciate It’s no secret that cars depreciate in value after purchase, although not quite the drastic slump that many people believe. But cars tend to depreciate more in those early stages of ownership, which means that buying a second-hand car can give you more value for your money. So while you might be able to benefit from some extra deals when buying a new car, that initial depreciation may make them less valuable than you think. Take advantage of dealers’ knowledge There are many ways to buy a pre-owned car, but one of the best ways is to visit a local dealer. A dealer will have expert knowledge about cars and can help you make the right decision. Ron Skinner and Sons have an excellent choice of used Land Rovers, which could be a bargain compared to a brand new car. Your dealer will be able to answer any questions you have and give you some tips on your Land Rover, helping you feel more comfortable during the buying process. Negotiate on a lower price It can be difficult to negotiate on getting a lower price on a brand new car, it’s more likely you’ll get extras offered to you rather than a cheaper deal. However, with a used car, there could be some more wiggle room to save money. There are plenty of ways you can negotiate when buying a second-hand car, helping you come up under budget with some money left over to treat yourself! Save on other costs When you buy a used car, you’ll be surprised at some of the other costs you’ll save versus buying a new car. Your insurance could be lower, for example, and because cars last longer than they used to, you might not face as many issues as you would have five or ten years ago. You might even strike lucky and find a Land Rover for sale which is still relatively new, allowing you to benefit from the latest model, different upgrades and more, without paying the full price.
Buying a preloved Land Rover is a great way to be able to fit one into your price range. Used cars are better than ever, giving you plenty of options to suit your taste and budget. Land Rovers don’t come cheap, but as a car with a high-class reputation, they are worth the investment. Look at some tips on saving money on a used car to help you get a great deal and become the proud owner of a Land Rover.

Buying a Land Rover is one of the most exciting things, especially if you’ve been a lover of the brand for quite a while. Finally, you’re going to be behind the wheel of one of the best luxury car brands in the world. However, it’s not always as easy as that, and when it comes to purchasing your Land Rover, you may not even know where to begin. After all, you have to decide whether you want to go for a new or used car, and you also need to think about who you’ll buy it from. We’ve noted down some of your options here!
A new car dealer One of the first places that pops into people’s heads when it comes to purchasing their Land Rover is a new car dealer, and there are a few benefits to buying a brand new car. Firstly, you get a full manufacturers warranty in case anything goes wrong, which means that you can rest easy when it comes to how your new car is going to run (and how any problems are going to be dealt with). It also gives you the peace of mind of knowing that nobody else has been driving the Land Rover before you, and as such, there are definitely no issues with the car. Finally, there’s just a feeling that you get from having a brand new car that we can’t really explain, you know?
A used car dealer Your second option is heading out to a used car dealer, like Georgesons Cars. There are many benefits to buying your Land Rover here, such as the fact that trustworthy dealers will always do a full check of the car, to make sure that there are no issues with it. It will also be valeted, so it feels like it’s a brand new vehicle, too. You will be saving yourself a lot of cash if you head to a used car dealer, whilst still getting the car that you’ve always dreamed of. If you’re buying secondhand, it’s a good idea to take this route, especially if you’re not too clued up on looking out for any issues. They will also give you up-to-date information about services and MOTs.
A private seller You can also get your used Land Rover from a private seller, which gives you the opportunity to cut out the costs that having the middleman (the dealer) usually incurs. Whilst this can save you a bit of cash, it also requires a bit more persistence, as you’ll have to look around for a seller, and you need to visit each car individually to have a look at them. It’s also pretty difficult to know who to trust without the involvement of a used car dealer, but if you’re somebody who knows exactly what to look out for, then this shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Private sellers can provide some real gems, for great prices, so if you’ve got the time then this is certainly an option worth considering.
So, if you’re looking to purchase a Land Rover, then check out these options!

When it comes to buying a truck for your business, it's not a cheap and easy process to go through. Whilst it may seem as though it is reasonably simple, you need to be sure you have considered absolutely everything beforehand, especially if you're going to be putting a lot of money into your fleet. With that in mind, here are 5 important things to consider before buying a truck:

What Is Your Budget?

The first things you need to think about is your budget. Whilst this may not seem as important as looking at the specs of your potential purchase, having a budget in mind will give you the best possible starting point. Setting the highest possible price you're willing to pay for your truck will mean you can go into dealerships and negotiations prepared. Take a look at similar specs to the ones you want online, working out the average price for your needs. For a guide on setting a budget for business expenses, you can visit this site here.

What Will You Be Using Your Truck For?

Another important thing you need to think about before purchasing a truck is what are you going to be using it for? Whilst it might be an obvious answer, it will help you decide what sort of specs you need. Going into a purchase blind will put you at a disadvantage, possibly causing you to pay more than you need to.

Will You Be Buying New Or Second Hand?

Although new may be the ideal option, most people buy their trucks second hand. This doesn't necessarily mean you'll be getting something of lower quality, but it does mean you'll save a little bit of money when possible. When buying second hand be sure to consider wear and tear, mileage and who the previous owners were. For more information on used trucks, you can visit this site here.

Do You Need A Bed? Will You Be Travelling Far?

If you're going to be using the truck for long journeys, you will need to consider whether or not you need a bed. Whilst this is a much cheaper option in terms of overall business expenses, it will be more expensive upfront. Ultimately, you need to make sure you're putting the comfort and safety of your staff members first. For tips and tricks on driving long journeys, you can visit this guide here.

Have You Done Your Research And Visited Several Dealerships?

When it comes to purchasing any vehicle, it's important you're doing your research about the dealerships you're visiting. Doing a little bit of background research and visiting as many dealerships as you can be the best possible way to be sure you're making the right decision. Whilst it may take a little longer, you will end up getting the best deal you possibly can.

Are you looking to buy a new truck for business? What do you need to consider beforehand? Let me know in the comments section below.

Different cars are always going to be useful for different people in different situations. After all, there are about as many different cars as there are places to drive them! However, if you're looking for something that covers pretty much all of the bases of form, function, and reliability you really could do a whole lot worse than an SUV. These cars are often some of the absolute best for those who want something that really can cover all of the bases from city driving to the school run to getting off-road. With that in mind, here are some of the factors to consider when trying to find the perfect SUV.

Comfort

One of the best things about an SUV is that it's this perfect balance between a family car and a great off-road vehicle. But if there's one thing that both of these situations have in common, it's that you're going to spend a pretty large amount of time in your vehicle. Because of that, you're going to want to make sure that you're as comfortable as possible. The last thing you want to is to be rattling around and causing yourself pain and discomfort from sitting in your car. SUVs like the new Audi Q7 are perfect because they offer a huge amount of comfort no matter what kind of driving you're doing. And that applies to everyone in the car!

Versatility

Of course, the last thing you want is an SUV that doesn't offer you the chance to switch up your driving style as and when you want. Maybe one day you're going to be doing the school run and the next you're ready to get off-road. You're going to want an SUV that actually functions properly in both of these situations. Make sure that you find an SUV with a smooth enough ride to make city driving comfortable but decently strong suspension that you don't end up destroying it the moment that you take it off-road.

Size

One other thing that really sets SUVs apart from a lot of other cars is that they're not only incredibly versatile but they're a decent enough size to offer space for large families, travellers, and pretty much anyone else! Of course, not all SUVs are made equal so it's worth figuring out what's the right kind of size for you. Do you want something smaller for more city driving? Or do you have a big family and need plenty of space for everyone no matter where you are?

Of course, the truth is that pretty much all of us will make the choice of what kind of car to buy based on pretty strong personal preference. It's not just a matter of which car ticks all of the relevant boxes for you but also how a car makes you feel when you're actually behind the wheel. And this is an incredibly important factor when it comes to deciding what car to buy. Just make sure that you're not forgetting about the practical side of things as well.

There is something special about owning a Land Rover. It doesn’t matter if it is brand new or and approved used Land Rover. It is an experience pretty much unlike any other vehicle. It is a unique experience, and sadly not everyone knows how to use all of the functions on the car. That goes for enthusiasts too!

Here are a few things that Land Rover owners should know.

We Are As One

Where most car owners can drive by each other, nonplussed at their taste in vehicles, as a Land Rover owner you should be waving to the rest of us. It is the first rules of owning such a mammoth and indeed beautiful car.

We are as one, and we should stick together.

This little-known law of owning a Land Rover will ensure that you are in the club for real.

Next time you see another Land Rover owner, give them a good old wave.

Dora The Explorer

There are a few things in the world that are sad to see. A dropped ice cream cone, toast landing butter side down and a Land Rover that is destined for a life of the 5-minute drive.

These cars are designed for the ultimate exploring. They are comfortable, air-conditioned, a quite literally head and shoulders above most vehicles.

Once you have the keys in your hand, you should feel yourself spontaneously turning into Dora The Explorer, your most exquisite pair of Sorrells secure themselves to your feet, and you are off on a couple of hour drive followed by a ramble and at least three stops for tea.

There is a lot of technology in the car that makes it the perfect long-distance runner, and being used for a few minutes here and there is a waste of a beautiful machine.

Old Veteran

Land Rovers have a history. You could buy so many books about their origin, what the design features are there for, and who came up with it all. And actually, that isn’t a bad thing to do if you really love the car.

If you have picked up an old runner aren’t all that sure about the heritage of the brand and the car, then you might not really be ready for all the quirks it comes with.

The history of Land Rover and Range Rover is what makes the brand so unique.

Capability

In all seriousness now, the vehicle is probably the most capable and diverse vehicle you’ll ever come across. It is perfect for shopping trips or driving up a muddy track. It comes with a range of options to suit whatever lifestyle it is going to be a part of, and you are unlikely to get a smoother drive out of something with similar sizing.

Top Tip: Another little-known rule is that if you see any vehicle from the Range Rover or Land Rover brand you are bound by ownership law to park next to them. And, while doing to leave enough space for them to open their doors safely. Double points if you manage to wave at another own in the same car park.
