I’m not going to go into the details of diagnosing or stating what other disorders may be at play here or where your symptoms could point. What I am going to do is tell you that 1) it’s not all that difficult to diagnose and 2) that’s not your problem.
Your problem is the symptoms, and your job is to get help for those symptoms, not to figure out your own diagnosis. At the end of the day your doctor is going to prescribe medication that will best help your symptoms, the diagnosis is just a guideline for any professional involved in your treatment.
I’m skip the traditionally long and emotional message here in place for a shorter one.
I just got out of a psychiatric hospital after a 6 day stay. I am twenty-six years old and haven’t been in IP since November of 2011 after an overdose. I have no health insurance and had to go to a county hospital. I am back on medication and feeling so much better, though I still have quite a ways to go until I would consider myself back to my “normal” self.
I’m sharing this to let ya’ll know that no matter how long it’s been or what is going on or how old you are, there’s never any shame in getting help and I hope you all always take care of yourselves always to the best of your abilities.
If you have any questions about my experience this time around, you know I’m an open book. Otherwise, I’m going to tackle the inbox while I have time off from work.
