LOLA

LOCATION: Downtown Atlanta

SEX: Female/Spayed

AGE: 5 years

WEIGHT: 21 lbs

OTHER DOGS: Best as an only dog

CATS: No

KIDS: Only older (ages 10+), dog savvy children

AVAILABLE AS OF: 7/16/2019

ADOPTION FEE: $400

Lola is a 5-year-old cutie who is being fostered by a Good Samaritan who has asked FBV to help with her adoption to ensure she goes to the perfect home. She had been living in a home with constant change. She had gone from being an only pet in her home to having a human sibling and another dog (an older Pug who passed away) to later having 2 human siblings and two new fur siblings. Her previous owners reported that Lola had always been a bit “persnickety” and had “corrected” the children a couple of times but then one day she bit the 3-year-old child which required a trip to the emergency room for stitches. For this reason, she will ONLY be placed in a home with older (ages 10+), dog savvy children.

Lola is sweet and gentle with adults and children over the age of 10. While in foster care, she has been around some neighborhood children and has had a blast. She was receptive to touch, cuddles and playing fetch and tolerated loud noises and fast motion. She is not toy or food aggressive, nor possessive, with humans. Lola is a bit unpredictable with other dogs, though, so she would do best as an only dog. However, her behaviors may be able to be worked with in a dog savvy home with strong human leaders.

She has a Grade 3 heart murmur which requires an inexpensive medication, Atenolol 25mg. She takes ¼ tablet orally every 12 hours with a meal (which is perfect because she currently eats twice a day…and tends to burp after every meal…. not very ladylike but she doesn’t care). Lola knows three commands, “sit,” “stay,” and “leave it.” She also is housebroken, crate-trained and leash trained. She would prefer a fenced yard; although, it is not a requirement of her forever home. While she wouldn’t mind someone staying with her during the day or providing a midday potty break, this is not a requirement either.

She is a huge snuggler and has become quite fond of her Kong (especially when filled with peanut butter), Nylabones and some squeaky toys. She also really loves her sock monkey toy, Virbac C.E.T. chews, and sunbathing in the yard. Lola is a very low-key dog with bursts of energy and playfulness. She is happiest when snuggled on a couch or bed and when being loved and pet. She truly loves spending time with her family and thrives in a very loving and safe home. The ever-changing atmosphere in her last home seemed too much for this girl. Her foster home believes in time she will be the most amazing pet for the right home.

This little girl has so much love to give and a true want to receive love. She can be that dog that touches your heart and fills a void for one very lucky person/family. She just wants to be loved and deserves a family who will cherish her for the entirety of her life.

Memorial for Sol who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge June 27, 2019

Tribute from Sol’s forever mom: “We unexpectedly lost our handsome, funny fur love Mr. Sol on Thursday. He crossed the bridge in his sleep. I’m devastated but so grateful for the years we had with him. And even more grateful that we were together when you crossed. I have a huge hole in my heart. I will never be the same. I love you, Sol…run free. I hope there are water fountains for you to play in in heaven. Until I see you again baby.”

Words from Sol’s foster mom while with FBV: “Sol has crossed the rainbow bridge. Please send prayers to Mr. Sol’s family. He was a big old goofball. I remember the day he went to his forever home…trotted right out the front door to the car and never looked back. My heart aches.”

RIP Sol…you obviously will be greatly missed.

Pammy is not yet ready for adoption. We are still evaluating her personality and addressing her medical issues. An email notification will be sent when she becomes ready for adoption. Adoption fees are set at the time a dog goes available and applications can only be submitted at that time. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Pammy!

Pammy is a 5-month-old little cutie who was surrendered with a broken arm and limp that had gone untreated by her previous owner for 2 weeks. She had surgery on her arm immediately upon coming to FBV to ensure the best outcome, but the surgeon was not able to fully fix it as the break had already started to heal. The surgeon felt the surgery went very well, though, and that she will only have minimal limitations in movement. She may also develop arthritis in the future.

She is an absolute sweetheart…very goofy…and is your typical puppy! However, this little gal actually sleeps through the night. She loves toys and her foster brothers. She follows them around like their kid sister! Haha!

Please follow along for updates on how Pammy is healing and progressing in foster care!

We greatly appreciate any and all donations….$1000 will help us cover some of the cost of Pammy's orthopedic surgery.

Alum Olive's forever mom sent us an update on her sweet baby! She reported that Olive will be turning 15 in October and loves snuggling with her sister, Ally. She also stated that she has been a blessed gift, and she wouldn't be here if not for her dear Olive. She had a lovely portrait commissioned of her that is pictured below.

What an awesome update on such a special pup. 15 is an amazing age! We are sure she made it to 15 with all the love and great care she receives from her forever mom.

Hanna is not yet ready for adoption. We are still evaluating her personality and for any behavioral issues. An email notification will be sent when she becomes ready for adoption. Adoption fees are set at the time a dog goes available and applications can only be submitted at that time. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Hanna!

Please give a warm welcome to Hanna. She will be 9 in August. She was surrendered to French Bulldog Village due to a change in her family's situation and a family member being allergic to her.

She has Addison's disease, but it is very well managed. She requires .5 mg of prednisone daily and a monthly injection (.8 mL) of Percorten. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines.

Per her previous family, she gets along with most dogs but can be a little bossy. In her foster home, she has been doing well with the other dogs. There have been two squabbles between her and the resident female Frenchie, but it was due to the resident dog putting Hanna in her place about staying away from her food. Hanna took her warning very well and just lied down.

Hanna is an easy going and friendly pup. She is not much of a barker/talker and is housebroken. She also rides in the car well. She will make a wonderful Frenchie for someone when she is ready for adoption!

We greatly appreciate any and all donations….$150 will help us provide Hanna with some basic essentials, such as food, bowls, a harness and a leash.

Cabo (formerly Chavo) is loving life in his furever home in Brooklyn! He has a fur sister and enjoys taking trips all over the country including trips to Florida and Miami. He was even invited into the cockpit of the airplane to take a picture with the captain hat on!! He loves exploring the outdoors, snacks and a good bellyrub.

This little guy sounds like he is being super spoiled in his new home. We are so happy that he is doing well and has such a loving family to take care of him. FBV is very thankful for the wonderful homes that adopt our pups!

BERBER

LOCATION: Atlanta area

SEX: Male/Neutered

AGE: 9 years

WEIGHT: 22 lbs

KIDS: Yes but older (ages 10+), dog savvy children

OTHER DOGS: Yes

CATS: Yes

OTHER SMALL ANIMALS: Yes

AVAILABLE AS OF: 6/26/2019

ADOPTION FEE: $250

Hey everyone! Berber is ready to find his forever family...might that be you?? Read his bio and decide if this precious fella is the the pup for you.

Berber is a 9-year-old sweetheart who was surrendered by his family when they no longer were able to care for his medical issues. Berber came to FBV with a melting ulcer in his left eye, weakness in his back end from severe upper spine deformities, yeast and bacteria in his ears and some dental issues. He has been seen by numerous vets, including an ophthalmologist for the melting ulcer which healed with the eye drops prescribed and the diligence of his foster mom in giving the drops. Berber also has cataracts in both his eyes. He will need to continue to see a veterinary ophthalmologist to monitor his left eye and his cataracts.

Berber has some fecal and urinary incontinence if not taken out frequently but does not mind wearing belly bands. He has been receiving physical and cold laser therapy to help his mobility and continence. These two treatments will likely be required for the rest of his life. Berber will need his anal glands stimulated daily in order to defecate if he has not had fecal incontinence. He's taken out every 2-3 hours in his foster home. If he's made to wait longer than that (especially if he didn't have a bowel movement on his previous potty break), he will likely have an accident in the house.

Mr. Berber is generally a laid-back couch potato. Occasionally, when his human returns home from running errands, Berber will strut his stuff and do a little happy dance for that person. He also does a cute happy dance when he knows he's getting food, a treat, or a fresh bowl of water. He's a smart little guy that learns his feeding schedule quickly.

Berber loves treats and chew bones. He doesn't care too much for dog toys but loves munching on crunchy fish treats and smoked dog bones. He also loves being brushed. He'll walk up to his human if he sees he/she has a brush in hand. If he smells good food in the kitchen or he knows it's feeding time, he'll stare at his human. He'll bark to get your attention if he thinks it's been too long….LOL!

Berber is crate trained but prefers not to be crated. A home in which someone is home all day is ideal for Berber but someone who works and can come home at lunch or have a dog walker come midday would also be an option. A fenced yard is preferred, but not required.

Berber is initially shy, but once he warms up to you, he's very loving and adorable. His physical limitations don't hold this pupper back from sharing his love and his spunky, bold, and cute personality. He's very easy to love. He has shown no aggression in his foster home but will put other dogs and cats in their place if they get too close for comfort.

This adorable older guy deserves a wonderful home that can provide him all the love and care he needs. If that home is yours, please apply!

Annabella

Location: Central NJ

Sex: Female/Spayed

Age: 3 years

Weight: 28 lbs

Other Dogs: No

Cats: No

Birds & Other Small Animals: No

Kids: Yes but only older (ages 10+), dog savvy children

Available As Of: 6/19/2019

Adoption Fee: $350

Annabella is a beautiful, brindle 3-year-old Frenchie who is looking for her forever home! Annabella originally was in a home that intended to use her as a breeding dog. However, her original family decided she didn't have a maternal instinct and gave her up after 6 months. Her next family had Annabella for two years. According to her second owners, she started to growl and become aggressive with everyone in the home, including the family's older dog, out of nowhere. They said that she also failed puppy class. They ended up giving Annabella up out of fear that she would hurt their child.

Annabella needs to take Apoquel for skin allergies and Prozac for anxiety/depression daily for the remainder of her life. She is crate trained but prefers not to be crated. She is also leash trained. She knows the following 3 commands, “sit,” “stay,” and “come.” A fenced yard is preferred but not required. Annabella will require someone to be home all day with her or someone who can provide her with a midday potty break.

She is housebroken, but it will take her time to be comfortable asking to go to the bathroom in a new home. She just sits or stares at the door when she has to go. She will have accidents, especially if she is left in or out of her crate in the house alone. She shouldn't be left out of the crate until she's comfortable in the space and all stairs have been blocked off in the home. Although she may seem reluctant, she will try to climb stairs if she thinks her humans are up there. She'll do anything to get to her humans so blocking off stairs is a must.

She has a submissive temperament around humans with whom she's comfortable and a fearful temperament around new humans. She'll cower, freeze, urinate, and hyperventilate when new humans try to physically interact with her without her owners present. She has a very dominant personality and aggressive temperament around other dogs. She is bossy and aggressive with other dogs. It can be dangerous, so extreme caution needs to be taken when introducing her to new dogs. Once Annabella’s comfortable, she will do everything to protect her yard and home from strangers. She will bark and run towards anyone that enters the property. She hasn't bitten or hurt anyone, but she'll do her best to scare them. Her foster parents have found success spraying her lightly with a water bottle to communicate that she doesn't need to bark or run toward people entering their property.

Annabella is a moody pup. Some days she's happy and playful and other days she's sad and doesn't want to be touched. She is very dependent and suffers from separation anxiety. Once she's comfortable with you, she will need to be near you at all times. She does great at restaurants or out in town (unless she sees another dog) and is very calm, quiet, and well behaved. She's so quiet, you'll forget she's there!

Annabella loves to be outside. She enjoys chasing birds, squirrels, cats, and anything else that comes into her foster parent's yard. Annabella loves chasing her foster dad around the yard and chasing soft footballs. A cooling jacket combined with a few tosses in a baby pool is a must because she gets overheated easily. She also enjoys interactive treat puzzle toys. She loves tearing things apart and gets a kick out of stuffing flying everywhere. She'd benefit from any safe tear apart toy. It took her months to feel comfortable enough to play with her foster parents so don't get discouraged if she doesn't feel up to playing right away.

When she's done with playtime, she is a couch potato and can binge watch shows with you for hours. She's also a bit of a diva and whines/huffs if she thinks she's going to get a treat and doesn't. Nothing makes her foster parents laugh more than when Annabella rests her little chin on the couch and looks up at them with curiosity or when she attacks her foster dad with kisses all around his ears and neck. It's these moments when her personality comes out that make her foster parents the happiest.

The ideal home for Annabella is one with lots of people and no other dogs. She wants to be the center of attention and needs at least one person with her at all times. Annabella requires companionship. She is a very dependent dog and will defecate, urinate, or cry if she's left alone. Sometimes she likes her space, but she still wants to be in the same room or on the same couch as her humans. Her future home needs to be very patient, kind, and understand that multiple homes have given her up so it will take her time to trust and love again. She will be depressed for the first few weeks and will sleep a lot. The right home needs to give her time to come out of her shell.

Annabella is a sweet dog that has been shuffled from family to family for too long. Her next home needs to be her last. She deserves a family who will make her their top priority and a home that will train her to be more independent and friendly to other dogs. She deserves a home with kind parents who are forgiving and understand that she is an emotional dog with trust issues but a huge heart. Once she's comfortable in her new home, she will protect her family from strangers, give them endless kisses, snuggle up right next to them, and play with them in the backyard.

If you feel you can provide Annabella with the love and patience she requires, please apply to adopt this cutie!
