As an entrepreneur, it is very common to feel overwhelmed. Especially when you’re just starting out. Over the years, I’ve figured out how to deal with overwhelm so that you keep moving forward and growing. One of the best things you can do is to plan out a dream day and get everything out there so you can see what you need to work on. You may find out that you need to hire help, be more organized, or only take on the things that you’re good at. Here are my top tips + a FREE PRINTABLE to help you conquer overwhelm.
Realize that it’s a good thing that you feel overwhelmed. It means that you are actually trying to do something beyond your comfort zone. You’re growing yourself to the next level as an entrepreneur.
HAVE A DREAMING DAY
Give yourself an open day to write down everything you have going on. What are all the tasks and projects that you have to do on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis? Get it all out of your head and onto paper. Get a bird’s eye view: What projects do you have going on? What are the steps that you need to take to complete them? What is the level of priority for each project? Get everything untangled and organized in this step.
Get honest with yourself and see if you are actually trying to do too much. If the answer is yes, examine what you can simplify and cut out. Seriously consider if you need people to come on board to help and who those people need to be.

On the show today, I have the lovely Tara Reed. She’s the founder of Apps Without Code and she basically teaches people how to build apps even if they have no clue when it comes to technology (that’s me!). So, if you are interested in doing that, then you’re going to love the beginning of this session because she basically gives us a lesson in creating apps, which was amazing. Then, we get into the nitty-gritty of being an entrepreneur. This part of the interview inspired me so much.
I love having just honest, real conversations with entrepreneurs who open up about the truth of building a business. One of the best ways to grow your business online is by growing your email list. It can be the foundation of marketing platform and your email subscribers are some of your most loyal fans.
In order to grow your email list you should give something out for free in exchange for them submitting their email. We call this your “freebie” and my favorite type of freebie is a workbook.
I love it the most because your workbook can give your subscribers a transformation and taste of what it is like working with you. It’s the first step to turning them into a customer.

GET CLEAR ON YOUR CONTENT
The best way to figure out what kind of content to put in your workbook is to ask yourself: “What are my audience’s biggest frustrations that I can solve for them in a workbook?” If you’re having trouble answering this question, then you can survey your audience and ask them what would help them the most.
IDENTIFY THE TRANSFORMATION
Think through what it is that your workbook will help your audience achieve. Knowing this will help you create a really powerful workbook and help you market it effectively. Where is your audience starting from and what is the end point that you are going to help them get to?
COME UP WITH A GOOD NAME
The title of of your workbook should tell your audience exactly how it will benefit them. The clearer you are, the more likely someone will sign up for it.
KEEP YOUR WORKBOOK SIMPLE
You don’t want your audience to have to trudge through a hundred pages of content. Keep your workbook short, sweet, and simple so that they can take action quickly. If you can help your audience experience a win fast, then they will see you as someone who has added value to their lives.
MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL
Make sure your looks beautiful, aligns with your brand, and resonates with your audience. You want to wow and delight your audience and make them really excited to download and fill out your workbook.

When you grow your email list you are growing a business asset you can use to get instant views on your content, videos, products, launches and more!

USE FACEBOOK ADS
Facebook ads have been one of the biggest ways that I have built my email list. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune if you do it right. Once people are on your list you can build a relationship with them that leads to being able to offer your products and services. Create an incredible, beautiful graphic that will resonate with your audience and brand and keep the description simple and short. CREATE CONTENT AROUND YOUR FREEBIE
Creating content (such as a blog post, podcast, video) around your freebie is a powerful way to warm people up so that they’re more inclined to sign up for it. For example, if you put together an amazing checklist, then create a video or blog post telling people why your freebie is amazing and what kind of transformation they will have if they sign up for it and use it.
LEVERAGE YOUR WEBSITE LIKE CRAZY
Place calls to actions for people to sign up for your freebie all over your website – the side bar, the top banner, and as a pop-up. Pop-ups work incredibly well! Also, you can add a call-to action at the end of your blog post letting people know that they can sign up for something that can help them take your tips and advice a step further. Basically if people are coming to your website, you don’t want them to leave without seeing your freebie and signing up for it if they’re interested. :)
LEVERAGE FACEBOOK GROUPS
Facebook groups are so powerful because you can build a like-minded community of people who love what you’re business is all about. When offering a freebie to your Facebook group, take the opportunity to warm them up first – let them know about whatever amazing freebie you have coming so that when you release it, they’ll be more excited to sign up for it. Encourage them to share it with their friends – even if you’re giving away something as simple as a workbook, people can fill it out as a group.
Don’t be one of those people who creates a freebie and then doesn’t tell anyone about it. Choosing a word strong enough to resonate with you and guide you all year long can feel surprisingly daunting. Everyone goes about deciding on their word in their own unique way, but it can still feel like a bit of a struggle. So, here are 3 steps to choosing your amazing and beautiful word for 2018…
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE HAPPEN?
Take out your journal or a piece of paper and pretend that it’s the end of 2018. Write down all the wonderful things that have happened over the year. The achievements you’ve experienced, the beautiful new reality you’ve created.
Imagine what you’d like your life to look like and write freely. This is your time to put your heart’s desires on paper without giving a second thought as to whether something you write down is “practical” or “realistic.” Dream big. Hand the pen over to your imagination.
WHO DO YOU NEED TO BECOME?
Ask yourself: Who do I need to become in order to have that kind of year? Take the time to describe the woman at the helm of all those achievements that you’ve just wrote down. Who is she? How does she go about her day, her life?
Delve into the qualities and characteristics that she embodies. Why is she so determined to achieve her dreams no matter what? Write it all out.
WHAT QUALITY IS AT THE HEART OF SUCH A PERSON?
Look at the person you just described in step two and ask yourself: What quality/spirit/emotion do I need to cultivate and embody in order to be that kind of person who creates my desired reality?
A woman of PURPOSE?
A woman of POWER?
A woman of TRANSFORMATION?
A woman of GRACE?
What word is going to be your shining light through the year reminding you to stay true to becoming the next evolution of yourself?
