Kiasu or not, I don't care as I am a Sarawakian and I really loves Sarawak cuisines. To all Sarawakian in Kuala Lumpur, there is one restaurant called Sarawak's Bowl just opened at the Sunway Putra Mall. I really love the location they chose! Sunway Putra Mall is at the center of Kuala Lumpur, easy access as it just next the PWTC station and the car parking here is really convenient.

Sarawak's Bowl was just opened yesterday and it's marked their second branch. Their first branch is at Setapak Central Mall and started operating since last year, 2016.

"Walai Jami" is mean "Our Home" is Iban language. It is actually "Alai Jami" and the just add "W" for their signature. And their logo includes hornbill as it is one of Sarawak icon.

They have 3 sharing partners, who are originally from Sarawak itself, 1 Malay and 2 Chinese from Limbang. Sarawak's Bowl is in the process to get the Halal certification. So no worries, it's Halal by the way just not yet official.

I was so lucky to get invited to review Sarawak's on their first day of opening.  Actually, this review session with  Sarawak's Bowl  which was arranged by KIPLE, via Kiple's Influencers Program (KIP).  If you are interested to join as the KIPLE Squad and doing reviews, you might join at http://kiplepay.com/kip .

Here are my review:

The Restaurant (8/10)

It is situated at Level 4 of Sunway Putra Mall. This is where most of the restaurant located. The size of the restaurant is not that big but it is acceptable. You can sit inside the restaurant or outside for more comfortable. They use open kitchen where you can see what they cooked. I can say it is a very simple restaurant where you to grab very fast lunch or dinner.

The Service (7/10)

As yesterday was their first day of opening, it is really quiet busy day. But from my observation, most of the customers get their orders really fast. And for the small restaurant like this, they have sufficient staffs. Hope they can maintained and improve it from time to time.

The Foods

1. Laksa Sarawak
Score: 7.5/10

Laksa Sarawak (Ala Carte: RM8.90, Combo set with beverage: RM14.80)

Laksa Sarawak is their best-selling menu based at their first branch. The portion is big, come with 2 medium size of shrimp. But  for me ratio of noodles with the "laksa" itself is not really right as the noodles is too much than the "laksa". Looking at the portion of noodles, 2 people can simply share the bowl. And make sure to eat it immediately before the "laksa" dried up because they noodles tend to absorb the "laksa". I love the taste of the laksa, it's complete and supposely taste like. The broth is thick with spice and I can say it is good!. As most the customers didn't familiar, it is recommended to explain to the customers how it suppose to eat, example: tell them can mix the "Sambal Belacan" in the Sarawak Laksa, as some of Sarawakian said, Sarawak Laksa tastiness is depends on its "Sambal".

2. Sarawak Kolo Mee
Score: 8/10

Sarawak Kolo Mee (Ala Carte: RM8.90, Combo set with beverage: RM14.80)

OMG! For me, the Kolo Mee is the menu to die for. I love their Mee Kolok. In Sarawak, there are few type how they prepare the Mee Kolok, whethers its Chinese Style (mostly plain) or Malay style (mostly it is sweet). And in Sarawak's Bowl serve Malay style of Mee Kolok. When I ate this, I felt like I was at home. Of course it served with separate soup, but you can eat it dry. Love it, for sure, I will come again and again for the Mee Kolok. Usually Mee Kolok will eat with "Sambal Hitam" for more kick.

3. Mee Jawa Nyonya Tey (Beef)
Score: 7.5/10

Mee Jawa Nyonya Tey (Beef) (Ala Carte: RM8.90, Combo set with beverage: RM14.80)

As for you know, if Mee Jawa serve with Satay in Sarawak, it is called Mee Jawa Special and the peanut sauce will put on top of the Satay as it will be mixed with Mee Jawa sauce when you eat it. Usually Mee Kolok will eat with "Sambal Hitam" for more kick. I simply love this Mee Jawa. The taste is seriously good but honestly speaking it can't beat my mom Mee Jawa as my mom used to cook the beef inside the Mee Jawa sauce.

4. Sarawak Mee Sua
Score: 8/10

Sarawak Mee Sua (Ala Carte: RM8.90, Combo set with beverage: RM14.80)

Mee Sua, honestly this asw first time tasted Mee Sua. This is the dish where I feel I want to diet, and I need something light but the truth is its just same with other dish. It seem simple, and when they served it, the smell of this Mee Sua sure really good, full with herbs smell. And the chicken texture and taste is amazing. It really caught me by suprise. You need to try this Mee Sua and you will not dissapointed.

5. Nasi Lemak Daging Masak Hitam Manis
Score: 7.5/10

Nasi Lemak Daging Masak Hitam Manis (Ala Carte: RM8.90, Combo set with beverage: RM14.80)

Everyone love Nasi Lemak. If all the noodles is not what you are looking, then Nasi Lemak is the answer. But what is special here, they served with Beef Black Sweet Sauce. They taste is good.

6. Ayam Pansoh (Ala Carte: RM15.90)
Score: 7.5/10

Ayam Pansoh (Ala Carte: RM15.90)

Ayam Pansoh or Chicken cooked in the Bamboo. It served with Bario rice surely caught my attentions. For your information, Bario rice is rich with minerals and vitamins and it is sweeter compared to the plain rice due their rich starchy content. The rice is special imported from Bario.  Their Ayam Pansoh is also rich of tastiness. But the portion of chicken is too small, I want more as it is so good. Come with 3-pieces of chicken. Plus it's served on the bamboo plate made it more interesting. If you are looking more traditional food, you should try it.

7. Beverage
Score: 8.0/10

I love the varieties of the beverage the offered. You can try Sarawak signature drinks which is 3-Layers-Tea as it mixed with "Gula Apong"=Gula Sarawak. Currently Sarawak's Bowl has the promotion, main menu + beverage for RM 14.90 only.

For the Sarawak's Bowl promotion, download the apps called "KIPLE", where you can top up and pay using the apps and get the rebate. Inside KIPLE, they have many participating outlet and many promotion is happening right now. Download KIPLE now in your phone. Give it a try.

Final Verdict

Cleanliness: 5/5  Open kitchen.
Environment: 4/5  Mall environment. Small but comfortable.
Location: 5/5 Inside the mall. Easy access. KL center
Parking: 5/5 Sunway Putra Mall Parking is good!
Staffs Efficiency: 3.5/5 Can be more improve
Tastiness: 4/5 It is good. But still can be improve

Will I return: YES

On my recent flight back to Kuala Lumpur from Kuching, I was very surprised to be served with #MalindoBites. Usually, on this same flight, the passengers will get Muffin and Biscuit.

#MalindoBites come with a box, and in a box, there were very cheese pizza and red velvet muffin. I never expect this, Malindo Air had upgraded their meal services.

The pizza is hot, and when you bite it, it goes like the pizza advertisement that usually you watch. It was seriously delicious. And you need to eat with hand as no cutlery been provided even the plastic one. Make sure to bring your sanitizer. Red velvet muffin is the bomb! Both meal served in hot condition.

As I research online, #MalindoBites had been served since last year. But I am very sure that is not include the Kuching flight as I am the regular Malindo Air passenger on this sector.

Hopefully, it will be continues. As for this date, only 29 photos of Instagram using the hashtag of #MalindoBites. Hopefully they are woke up to take the social media influence seriously. They should promotes the hashtag of their #MalindoBites as many did not know the existence of this meal.

Forget about the delay problem that you face with Malindo Air, hopefully the #MalindoBites will have more suprised and more variety of meal will be served next time.

So now, with very competitive price, for economy flight, you can get free 30kg, plus a yummy #MalindoBites. Delay? Hope they can improve their delay time as currently there are so many complaint about this problem.

Hey guys, how's your Aidilfitri preparation? Everything is good ya I hope.  Thai Airways was named the Winner of World's Best Economy Flight for the Skytrax 2017 World Airline Awards. Congratulations to Thai Airways, you deserved it.

So in this post, I want to share my experience when flew with Thai Airways Economy Class from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok, Thailand.

Info of my flight:

Date: 25 September 2016
Flight: TG416
Seat: 68K
Route: Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok (Medium Haul)

Check-in (4/5)
Check-in was smooth. No problem at all. As my ticket was the staff ticket which I didn't realize, the check-in staff asked me about this. I was a little bit blur. But, after that it made sense.

Boarding Pass (4/5)
Love it. Purple is one of my favourite colour

Boarding (3/5)
The flight been delayed for 15 minutes, nothing much to brag about, it was Okay. The crews were helpful and friendly. Announcement were really clear.

Seat (5/5)
First of all, I really love the vibrant color of the seat, it is really brilliant choice. It's really suitable with the orchid theme. The leg room is spacious as you can see in the photo. I sat alone in my room. And window seat is my favorite seat.

Crew (4/5)
I expected the cabin crew using the traditional Thailand uniform as it is really looks rich and royalty. But unfortunately, during my flight, the crew was using the other uniform which more casual. They always smile and really helpful during my flight.

Thanks to hostelbooker.com's facebook page! I found this thought is very interesting about travelling by Henry Rollings. Yeah! I'm quite agree with what he said.

Who is Henry Rollins?
Henry Rollins (born 13 February 1961) is an American spoken word artist, writer, journalist, publisher, actor, radio DJ, activist and former singer-songwriter. Rollins has hosted numerous radio shows, such as Harmony in My Head on Indie 103, and television shows such as The Henry Rollins Show, MTV's 120 Minutes, and Jackass. He had a recurring dramatic role in the second season of Sons of Anarchy and has also had roles in several films.

"I beg young people to travel. If you don't have passport, get one. Take a summer, get a backpack and go to Delhi, go to Saigon, go to Bangkok, go to Kenya."
Yeah!. There is no reason for you not to traveling. Most of the reason they can't do it because they are very busy. When you are still young, that is a gold chance for you to traveling. You still do not have a serious commitment. I am very disappointing with myself because I never thought of traveling while I was in university. Most of my money, I spend on shopping. I was a shopaholic back then. Imagine, if every semester break, I go to travel, must be a good experience for myself as a student. I still not yet travel to India, next year I hope so, been to Saigon or known as Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, and also not yet for Bangkok. I need to cancel my Bangkok trip last year backpacking plan because of the flood situation. I changed my plan with continue my journey to Chiang Rai and entered Laos from Luang Prabang. Kenya? Still not in my list. But the point is, just travel wherever you want, see whatever awaits for you out there.

"Have your mind blown, eat interesting food, dig some interesting people, have an adventure, be careful."
During my last backpacking, my mind always blown away. Sometimes, I thought it was because of andrenalin rush. Eat interesting food is a must. As for me, in Indonesia, they always have many interesting things to eat. Plus the scary one. In Bandung, I ate one of the cow organ which boiled with noodle. I don't know what it is, it's called BEBEK. The structure of the meat is like a Durian skin. Very scary and its very hard to bite! I do not like it all. For Muslim, there are some restrictions involving choosing a food. It's very tough to find food in Philippnes. Eventhough I want to try their food, but I can't. But I had eaten worm spaghetti. My Philippines ordered me a spaghetti as I informed him earlier that I can't eat chicken, meat or pork. So he ordered me a worm ingredient instead. I only knew after I finished eating the meal! Yucks. Interesting people? a lottttttt!. I met many interesting persons during my journey, especially in Philippines. you know, Filipinos are very friendly. I be friend with a tricycle driver when I'm in Bohol. I met his family, having a dinner at his house, and they treated me really good.!

"Come back and you're going to see your country differently, you're going to see your president differently, no matter who it is. Music, culture, food, water. Your showers will become shorter. You're going to get a sense of what globalization look like. You're going to see that global climate change is very real. And that for some people, their day consists of walking 12 miles for four buckets of water. And so there are lessons that you can't get out of a book that are waiting for you at the other end of that flight. "
Of course you will learn many things while you travel. Eventhough I'm from Asia, but my country still consider "OK" if I'm comparing other countries. I never interested about their politics. But when everytime I was in Indonesia, I need to prepare my politic mind. Because in Indonesia, most of them really interested in politic. They will asking many question about politic. So, just be prepared. You don't want to sound so unknowledgeable. I can't tell you how I feel after and before I traveled. But after I come back to my own country, I am really greatly because I was born in Malaysia. Malaysia is a damn happy and harmony country. And I proud of it.!

"A lot of people, Americans & Europeans, come back and go "ohhhh". And the lightbulb goes on."
Americans, Europeans.... I always refers them as White People during my traveling. I friends with them, I listen and learn from the stories. I still keep in touch with some of them. They always thought me I am very interesting guys because I am from Borneo. I always introduce myself from a Borneo Island. "Hi, you can called me Fadli, and I'm from Borneo!".... I still remember in Boracay, there were always 5 of us every night to enjoy a night life. There are American, Irish, Germany, Slovakia and I.... They called me as "Crazy Malaysian Boys"... Because I always doing crazy stuffs randomly. I still can't forget what happened back there. The "Hung Over" movie is really happen. When we wake up one morning, we never know what had happen last night. It's so mysterious.! Lol. One thing I know now for sure that white people male or female, they like to gossip and spread the news!

Conclusion
So, get your backpack! And start to travel! No need to buy guide book. Just buy a flight ticket and work with the flows and hope everything will be OK!... I love it and I love every minutes of it.

Currently, now is the best place to visit East Coast Malaysia and Tioman Island should not be missed. The island is part of Pahang territory, although it is geographically closer to mainland Johor than to mainland Pahang, and is accessed via ferry service from the Johorean coastal town of Mersing. Within Tioman Island there are four kampungs: Salang, Tekek, Juara and Air Batang.

How to go there?

By Road
From Kuala Lumpur to Mersing, Johor (4 hours)
From Kuala Lumpur to Tanjong Gemok, Pahang (4 hours)
From Singapore to Mersing, Johor (2 hours 30 minutes)

By Sea
From Mersing, Johor to Tioman Island (1 hour 30 minutes)
From Tanjong Gemok, Pahang to Tioman Island (1 hour 30 minutes)

Where to stay?

On Tioman Island, the best place to stay is Berjaya Tioman Resort.  I have my own reasons. For the best deal and discount, my recommendation is to book through Traveloka. Most of my staycation, I used Traveloka. And here are 10 reasons why you should stay at Berjaya Tioman Resort.

#1. The largest hotel on Tioman Island
