I am always excited to see the new technology in beauty and how empowering it is to be able to treat your skin at home with high quality, professional grade products that deliver results. I have been using the Silk'n Titan for almost two months and today I am ready to share my thoughts on it. Silk'n Titan is a smoothing, tightening and lifting device that helps reduce wrinkles and lifts facial contours. It is designed to be used on face and neck and you can even go around your eyes with this device! Silk'n Titan uses a technology that "delivers energy to precise areas beneath the skin to activate your body’s natural restoration process". I was so curious to see this in action because if this device works, that means we can rejuvenate our skin and get our bodies to make the collagen and elastin for us as we age and would never have to worry about sagging or wrinkles. There is no downtime and I could apply makeup and get out of the house right after using it on my face. It sounds like the perfect solution for busy lifestyles and a little bit of treatment, literally 10-15 minutes in two weeks, could change the way my skin ages. I am quite happy with it, even though, there wasn't much of a drastic difference I could feel but then, I do not have deeper wrinkles and the fine lines around my eyes are not are troublesome at this point, but I could definitely use it to prevent sagging. My mom has no wrinkles but her skin is sagging. She maintains a strict no chemicals/toxin skin care routine, but looking at her, I can imagine that I may have more sagging issues than wrinkling. I have already started to notice my jaw line changing in appearance! More on how to use the Silk'n Titan, what to expect and what this new technology in at home beauty tools is all about, on today's blog!
It is recommended to start using the Silk'n Titan device twice a week for 5 weeks and then use it only once every two week. I had a small forehead wrinkle and a fine line between my eye brows that I wanted to treat and it is where I mostly used it. I was a bit scared to use it on my cheeks or jawline because that is where I break out the most. However, over time, my acne cleared out and I was able to do a full face routine with this. In future I would use it on my jaw line to prevent sagging and to make my skin firmer around the lower cheeks area. Below, you can see what is in the box. You can a zippered travel case with the Silk'n Titan device, instruction manual and the warranty info. You also get one tube of the slider gel. Sadly, the slider gel does not fit in the case and has to be kept separately.
What's in the Silk'n Titan Box
The Silk'n Titan device is very easy to use. You simply plug it in and press the energy level button to select the level you would like to treat your skin with - 1 being the lowest and 5 is the hottest. If you have sensitive skin like me, I would highly suggest starting at level 1 for the first 10 minutes and moving to level 2 for the last 5 minutes of treatment. This device gets hot - like almost as hot as sauna, so if you are used to facial steams, sauna treatments, then the heat shouldn't bother you much. It never burns and it stays at a safe level of heat for facial skin, but always listen your body and know when to stop, if you are uncomfortable. After the first four treatments (two weeks) I could move on to higher levels, so I could start at level 3 and go on to level 4. Always remember to set the energy level BEFORE putting this device on skin. After the first five weeks or 10 treatments, I started using this once very two weeks.
After selecting the right energy level, you apply the slider gel on the area you are treating. Then place the Silk'n Titan on that section of your skin and the red light activates (see pics below), so you can start moving your device in circular motion or upward motion. Remember to always keep moving the device so the heat is not concentrated in one area and also read the instruction manual for dos and donts. Also, this device does not work unless the slider gel is on your skin which I believe is a safety feature. On HSN's website you get a list of skin colors and health conditions that prevents use of this device. Generally speaking, if you have dark brown skin or deeply pigmented dark brown to darkest brown skin then you can not use this device. Please read the manual before using this device for more precautions.
I keep massaging my treatment area for 5 to 10 minutes and with subsequent treatments I increased the energy levels. It makes my skin look red, right after the treatment - like it would look after a facial steam and then I wipe clean the slider gel and rinse my face with warm water and continue with my skincare regimen. I use it right after cleansing my skin, so my skin is free from any makeup residue or dirt. I regularly used Silk'n Titan Skin Tightening and Lifting on my forehead area. The warmth of the Silk'n Titan is so relaxing and makes me want to go to bed and I usually always use it at night.
I wanted to treat my laugh lines with this as well, but since I was always breaking out on the cheek area, I couldn't do the treatments regularly and with any skincare treatment, routine is everything. So, after two months, the lines on my forehead vanished! Like completely gone! I was so surprised and then I thought, maybe its the sleeping mask, or my downward dogs that helped me achieve those results but truth is, I have been doing all that before I started the Silk'n Titan treatments and its now that I had results!
I would give credit to this device for plumping up my forehead skin again and it helped me get rid of that unsightly line between the brows and the fine line on my forehead. I do not have deeper wrinkles on my face and it worked great on the fine lines on my face. I hope that keeping this device as part of my skincare routine, would help prevent wrinkles in the future. The combination of bi-polar RF energy, LED light energy and IR heat energy work to stimulate cell renewal. You can find out more on Silk'n Titan's website to understand how it works on a cellular level. Below you can find a description of how the Silk'n Titan works to stimulate collagen product. All of these images are from the Silk'n Titan box.
I have tried using it on my hands and my décolleté as well, even though this is designed for face and neck and I love the warming massage of this device. Its feels amazing and almost instantly plumps up skin and makes it feel soft and smooth. I did not use the Silk'n Titan Skin Tightening and Lifting this week and my forehead looks the same so I am hoping these results are permanent which means that I do not have to worry about the same area again! Yay!
I will continue using the Silk'n Titan Skin Tightening and Lifting device because its super easy to use and it works for my skin type. I got results in two months but for deeper wrinkles or more mature skin, it may take longer to see any visible improvement. However, since this is a at home device that I use for only 10 minutes on the area I would like to treat, before going to bed and only once in two weeks - I feel its highly doable and something anyone can easily do. Its not messy, the slider gel wipes off the face and the device with a damp paper towel. The benefits definitely outweigh the little bit of 'extra' in the skincare routine and it saves me a trip to the derm office for a filler!
Anything that reduces dark circles or help with the eye contour automatically grabs my attention. Every eye cream promises a smoother eye area and less noticeable dark circles but they don't always have their ingredients listed on the top of the bottle. The Ordinary products are named by concentration of its key ingredients and as a consumer that does not make any sense to me because I have limited knowledge about what ingredient concentration works for my skin condition and how can I incorporate those ingredients in to my skincare routine without irritating my skin or disrupting my skin's pH level. But then my social media went viral with The Ordinary products last month when they launched at Sephora Canada so I had to try something from this brand and an eye serum seemed like any easy product to use. The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG has rave reviews from my favorite bloggers so I had to get it before its out of stock, like any other The Ordinary products. The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG promises to help reduce the appearance of puffiness and pigmentation in the eye contour. I have been using this for two weeks so I decided to share my thoughts on this with you guys today.
As a person with dry sensitive skin, that breaks out on the slightest mistreatment, I like to keep my skin routine to the simplest. Cleansing+toning+moisturizing at AM and PM and I use an acid peel once a week and seldom use a grainy exfoliating scrub all over my face. Also, I mask every 3 days - that does not sound simplistic at all!! :D But considering how many products I receive to try out, this routine has helped me keep my skin in check, so the number of products I use stays at the bare minimum for each step in my routine. I have noticed that combining moisturizers or serums do not work for me for most part and that is why I use them in moderation and with extreme caution. This is also a reason, why The Ordinary or any other Deceim product did not appeal to me. If I am unsure about the placement of the product in my regimen, I do not use it at all.
At CA$6.70 for a 30ml bottle of eye serum that is loved by everyone, its not too hard to buy one and see if it works. I have never come across an eye cream with 5% caffeine! I thought most eye creams had some concentration of caffeine because it tends to deflate the puffiness in the eye area but had never heard of EGCG! Its antioxidant from green tea which is another thing that I have DIYed for dark circles, so I assumed it should work. Having high hopes from the cheapest beauty product I have ever tried, I am pleased to announce that it WORKS!!
It reduces puffiness within 30 minutes and my dark circles look lightened. I have prominent veins under my eyes, that add to the darkness under my eyes and I know only a dermal filler would alleviate that but as a temporary fix, I am very happy with Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
The texture of this treatment is very serum like, but without silicones, oils, fragrance, gluten or nuts. Its vegan and cruelty free. It spreads nicely in the eye area and its supposed to be massaged in the under eye area AM and PM. I never had issues applying my concealer after the Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG has been absorbed in to skin and dried. It keeps the eye area moisturized and I did not notice anything weird in my eye area - no flakes, no residue. Its an easy to use product. I only use a drop for both eyes. The dropper only drops enough to cover both eyes and I feel this 30ml bottle will last me a year!
I am so excited about to share the new Make Up for Ever Artist Color Eye shadows with you today. I own the older version which was fantastic and these new ones are just as good and offer more finishes like this new glitter and shimmer finish. I love how pigmented these are and how nicely they blend - wait till you see the swatches. I picked a beautiful iridescent, glitter finish, purple shade called Blueberry and a shimmer finish shade called Golden Fawn form the new launches. They work beautifully together and are perfect for spring. The shade Blueberry is also close to the Pantone's color of the year - UltraViolet, so I am loving this a lot. I usually do not wear much color on my eyes but purple always looks great without making me look dated or too OTT. Its a lovely shade to have in my collection and I can not wait to wear this on my next vacation.
Swatches, thoughts on Make Up For Ever Artist Color Eye Shadows on today's blog.
Make Up For Ever makes it so easy to create a custom palette with this refillable magnetic makeup palette which is only CA$2, for every size. There are five sizes to choose from and the largest size would fit 6 shadows. It's a compact design that works well for everyday use as well as for travelling.
BLUEBERRY Artist Color Eye Shadow in the shade D-926 Blueberry is a beautiful bright purple with purple glitter. It looks very pretty in day light and has a bit of iridescence to it. This shade looks great with my brown eyes and my favorite way to wear it is with a matte black eye shadow. I love how the smokey purple looks on me and I can't wait to try different looks with this when the sun is out. Since Ultraviolet is the color of the year, I would make it a point to wear purple hues more in my makeup and wardrobe. This shade swatches beautifully and there is not much of a difference in the swatches with and without primer. Even though it has a lot of glitter in it, it is not overly chunky or shiny or cheap looking. The texture is amazing for a glitter finish and there was not much fly aways when I swipe with a brush and my finger. I prefer to use a small eyeshadow brush to pack pigment on my lids before blending it out - it helps keep the glitters in place and not under my eyes. It blends beautifully and looks amazing!
GOLDEN FAWN This shimmer finish warm toned golden beige shade is called I-648 Golden Fawn. I love the texture on this - its creamy, saturated in pigment and with zero fallout! Its not glittery but still shiny and sparkly. It applies evenly and smoothly on eye lids. I used this shade in the inner corner of my eye and a light swipe on the browbone to highlight, in the swatch below. Its a neutral shade for me and something I would easily pair with a matte brown shade for everyday use.I love this formula a lot and I am already planning on picking more shimmer finishes from the Artist Eye Shadow collection.
I am only wearing these two shades on my lids to showcase how beautifully they blend on lids. I could totally use a matte medium brown in the inner corner and a black eyeliner. I was actually wearing a brown eye liner before I applied the Blueberry shade and thats why it peeks through close to my lash line. The glitters in Blueberry are sparkly but not chunky or messy looking and it blends beautifully with Golden Fawn, which is so close to my eyelid color that its hard to see it on my brow bone or the inner corner of the eye. Golden Fawn has a shimmer finish so it acts as a highlight color for me in this swatch.
Overall, I absolutely loved the new formulation, finishes and the color range in the new Artist Color Eye Shadows. They have a beautiful saturated formula and a blend-able texture that is easy to work with. I had slight fall out with the glitter finish which is expected, but nothing I can't deal with and the shimmer finish shade Golden Fawn, has zero fall out. They are very wearable and I almost want every shade from the new Artist Eye Shadows! Shop the Post
I shovelled 25 cm of snow off my driveway yesterday and my hands looked quite beat up after I removed my weatherproof gloves. Surprisingly none of my nails had chipped/broken, which I expect to break every day or two in winters and I though to myself, that this nail treatment is truly working it magic on me! Sometimes, even opening the car door would break my nails, or while putting on my winter coat. My hands hate winters. They look wrinkled, dry and flaky and I know that I can totally fix that with my Shea hand balm, but broken nails are hard to file/clip. They can certainly be painful too.
Today I am sharing with you a nail repair treatment that has truly helped me in maintaining the strength of my nails and I haven't experienced spilt or broken nails since I started using this. Its the Vitry Nail Repair Care in sensitive. I just pick everything for sensitive nails/skin/hair because I can always be sure it will not irritate me in anyway.
More on this in todays blog along with hand swatches...
As you can see below that this treatment is completely clear and it even works as a great base coat.
Please ignore my cold/flaky hands. I told you I shovelled quite a bit yesterday! :(
In the pic below you might be able to see the tips of my nail with signs of breakage and grooves. They grew quite quickly since I started using this treatment and I am very happy with the results.
I started using Vitry Nail Repair a couple of weeks ago and the results are quite impressive so far. Its basically a clear base coat that is fortified with active bio ingredients. It promises to strenghten nails after 2 weeks and it definitely lived up to that promise for me.
I simply apply one coat of this to clean dry nails and sometimes I would apply my favorite nail color on top. It works as a base coat too. Its recommended to be removed with nail polish remover every two days to clean the nails and then reapplied. I noticed that it chips off on the second day of application, so kind of forced me to get in the reapply schedule and routine is everything, if you want results. I am very happy that my nails are growing strong and with Vitry Nail Repair on, there is shine on nails which makes them appear healthy. Overall, I loved it and would recommend this to anyone who suffers from fragile nails and wants something that works fast.
Today I will share with you the iconic Eight Hour Cream collection from Elizabeth Arden. This legendary skincare line dates back to the 1930s and has been a huge success because of how well it performs. They can be used from head to toe for a variety of skin issues and I have literally healed my cuticles, heels and dryness on knees and elbows with these products. My absolute favorite is the All-Over Miracle Oil which is light enough to be used on face and basically anywhere I would like to heal, protect and lock in moisture. When my skin was healing from acne, I had noticeable dry patches on my face and this helped my skin recover. I quickly became a fan of these products and I can't wait to share more about these cult favorite skincare products from Elizabeth Arden with you. For review and how I use each of these, keep on reading...
This skin protectant can be applied head to toe to seal in moisture for healthy and hydrated skin. I love using this as a massaging cream for cuticles and hands and I have even used this on my cheeks before going for a walk and I loved how it protects and hydrates the skin. It never irritates my sensitive/dry skin. My only problem is the scent of this product. Its somewhat pungent and I often find it overbearing.
The thick balm like texture is perfect for massaging feet before going to bed and waking up to soft, hydrated feet. I can't imagine better looking feet in winters without this one. Its definitely not the sexiest scent to go to bed with, so I always wear socks to cover the scent and also to avoid any transfer to bedding. It almost feels like petroleum jelly and takes its time to absorb in skin. It creates a moisture retaining film on skin that stays on till morning.
Overtime, I settled for using it on a as need basis but if the fragrance was toned down a bit, I would love to use it daily. It works like magic on dry, chapped skin.
ALL-OVER MIRACLE OIL
This moisturizing, non greasy oil is so comfortable on skin. I have mostly used this on face and it feels luxurious! Its instantly heals dryness and I have often used this under my foundation and never ran in to any issues. It could be that my t-zone is always dry and just soaks up whatever moisturizer I apply, but its the best thing I used on my sensitive skin. It protects skin and balances its moisture and gives it the much needed luminosity.
All-Over Miracle Oil is a blend of powerful ingredients including Tsubaki oil, grape seed oil, vitamin E and ginger root extract. All of these ingredients help soothe and heal skin and comes with a light floral - spa like scent that feels relaxing and luxurious. It did not clog my pores nor did it leave any residue on skin. It completely absorbs in skin and its a must have for my skincare regimen. Especially since the weather is so dry, I find this beauty oil to work amazingly well on my skin. If there is one thing, you must try from this iconic Eight Hour Cream collection, I would suggest this All-Over Miracle Oil
INTENSIVE LIP REPAIR BALM
I have been using this as part of my night regimen and I found this lip balm to work great. Its thick texture melts on lips and stays on for hours. I wake up to moisturized smooth lips and the scent of essential oils in this one is calming and relaxing. Its a lovely lip balm, but I do not like the jar packaging. I do not like dipping my nails in it and I wish this beautiful formulation would be available in a stick soon.
Overall, this collection is a solution to all dry skin issues and I felt that it healed a lot of redness and flakiness on different areas of my skin. The Eight Hour Cream collection from Elizabeth Arden is a must have during winters or if you generally have dry skin or live in drier climates. I absolutely loved the All-Over Miracle Oil and its a part of my daily skincare routine - it hydrates, soothes and protects my skin. These products work for my skin and I would highly recommend you to try these this winter season.
Some products are so good, they need no introduction and I use this concealer every single day but never did a full review on it because I felt that everyone already owns one. Its the world famous, everyone's favorite concealer, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (C$37 for 6ml). It is the best formula for covering dark circles and other blemishes on the face. I mostly use this on my under eye area to brighten up my eyes and it always looks great. I never get a powdery, flaky look that happens with some other concealers. It smooths out the undereye area and adds enough brightness to make me look well rested. Its a medium to full coverage formula that looks very natural on skin.
More on this and swatches on the shade Ginger in today's blog...
The formula on these concealers is what sets them apart from the rest. There are many concealers that offer a fuller coverage, more pigment but most of them look powdery, unnatural and though, it may look great on camera, they are not wearable or blend-able for daily use. That is the thing I absolutely love about these concealers - the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer are easy to blend and can be used everyday without spending too much time blending or 'baking'. Also, I never get the drag queen look with these. The formula is creamy, non drying and blurs out the lines under the eye. This helps make complexion look even, without making the undereye look ashy. It can be easily applied with finger tips or sponge, but with a concealer brush, I feel that I need more product to see any difference. I always use my fingers to press it in and gently blend it out. Sometimes, I would use my foundation brush, if I am in a rush. This concealer never disappoints no matter how you apply and it lasts all day with a little help from a setting powder. It is quite resistant to humidity and I often felt that its considerably water resistant. I love this concealer and I can't imagine living without it. Ginger is described as having a golden undertone for medium complexion and even though my face is far from golden undertones, this still works, because it color corrects my dark circles and adds luminosity in the eye area. I would have picked the shade Biscuit if I was solely applying it for blemishes and acne scars, but I leave that to my foundation and let those imperfections peek through. I do not like completely masking blemishes because it doesn't feel true to me - if that makes sense? I like to embrace all my imperfections and hide them just enough to look polished, fresh and well rested. And if an acne scar is really bothering me, I would do a second layer of concealer on it to fully conceal it but I rarely do that - may be when my in laws are visiting... :D The best part is that NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer comes in over 20 shades, so always get color matched for this because you can find the perfect shade for your skintone! Its a beautiful product and a must have for so many because its easy to use, it delivers and it always makes me look fresher and well rested.
Hope you are already a fan of this and if not, you must try it out.
To celebrate the Chinese New Year Givenchy came up with this gorgeous limited edition collection which features their best selling shades dressed up in a beautiful red and gold packaging. I absolutely love this collection because these are my favorite products from Givenchy and they look stunning in this packaging. It features Prism Libre and Le Rouge in 305. I am a huge fan of Givenchy lipsticks and I can't wait to share it with you.
For review, swatches and lots of pictures keep reading!
GIVENCHY LE ROUGE - 305 Rouge Égérie
Le Rouge in 305 is a bright warm red shade that sets the mood for the celebrations. In this red and gold limited edition packaging, it is reminiscent of firecrackers used as decorations (hopefully) during the festivities. The real leather looks stunning in red with golden flowers. Givenchy has truly captured the essence of the Chinese New Year with this packaging and the shade selection is apt for the occasion. If you love red lipsticks, you don't want to miss this one because it is a perfect shade for spring/summer time. Rouge Égérie pulls more coral on me and looks like a coral pink in the swatches below, but its definitely much more red than pink. Its one of those shades that look different in different lighting and I personally loved it during the day time, when the red tones are its brightest. It looks beautiful and the creamy texture of Le Rouge is to die for. Its a semi matte lipstick with intense pigmentation and longevity. It stays on even after a meal and never looked patchy on me. I am very impressed with this shade because it works so nicely on my skintone. The warm red shade is perfect for the Chinese New Year celebrations. This stunning limited edition packaging just adds to the festival vibes and puts me in the mood to celebrate.
GIVENCHY PRISME LIBRE This matte finish, natural looking loose powder is the perfect finishing touch to my makeup look. The red casing with gold accents look like gold embroidery on a red silk garment. This beautiful packaging is practical, compact and easy to use. The attention to detail is incredible on this one, as you will notice that even the black ribbon on the powder puff is adorned with gold flowers. This limited edition packaging is in the shade Mousseline Pastel , which is a universal shade in my opinion, that works for most skintones. It beautifully sets foundation and adds just enough radiance to keep the look natural so it doesn't look 'flat'.
The powder puff can be used for application, but I prefer to use a big fluffy brush to swirl in all four colors and apply if all over my face in circles. It adds a lovely glow and color corrects where need be. I notice the most difference around my lip area where my foundation seems to breakdown the most and this helps not only in blurring out imperfections but also makes foundation last longer and keeps it looking matte and natural the whole time.
Absolutely love Prisme Libre and I would highly recommend you to try this powder for setting your makeup, color correction and to add a lovely radiant glow to your complexion!
Overall, I absolutely loved these products. They make wonderful presents and if you're already a fan of the Prism Libre and the Le Rouge, then you must grab these in this limited edition packaging.
The Givenchy Chinese New Year Limited Edition Collection launches on Jan 5th, 2018.
I am so ready for the luminous, sparkly, glowy look this holiday season and that is why I had to pick up these shimmering holiday sets from Becca Cosmetics. They are also the first ever Becca product I own! I always wanted to try their most coveted highlighters but somehow I was always more distracted with my love for YSL, Chanel and Givenchy for cosmetics. So, I had been waiting for a palette that features a collection of Becca highters and with these two products I have pretty much tasted everything from Becca in terms of highlghters for warmer complexions. I also wanted to get the holiday blush palette from Après Ski Glow Collection but I couldn't find it at Sephora.
CHAMPAGNE POP - GLOW ON THE GO KIT This set feature two travel sized Champagne Pop highlighters in pressed powder and in liquid form. I had never tried Champagne Pop before, so this was a great way to add it to my collection. Its a lovely shade that is a cult favorite and had won over millions - including me. There isn't a single highlighter in my collection that I have hit pan on so even these travel sizes will last me years! And they are pretty good sizes. The pressed powder is 2.4gm which is the size of the mini Becca Highlighters, which retail for C$23 and the liquid highlighter is only 5ml. So at a price of C$24 for this kit, I got a pretty good deal. I am not much of a liquid highlighter person, so this is a great way to experiment. Like eveyone else, I am in love with Champagne Pop, a little goes a long way and it never looks bad. It gives a radiant glow, that can be quickly intensified to a more full on-in-your face highlight. Love it.
Champagne Pop Glow on the Go Swatches
BECCA EYE LIGHTS PALETTE This is the holiday eye shadow palette from Becca Cosmetics for this year and it includes five of the best selling Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlghter shades in an "eye version", which isPearl, Rose Quartz, Moonstone, Opal, and Topaz—and two holiday-inspired shades—Toasted Marshmallow and Hot Cocoa. For me its a collection of their best sellers - I use this on my eyes and face. I actually like them better on my face than eyes. They are super easy to use because I can never go wrong with neutrals. The pigmentation is a bit sheer for an eye shadow but that also makes it super easy to quickly do an eye look. We usually go for breakfasts during the holidays and after a late night, its hard for me to pull together a look. This palette allows me to swipe a few shimmery shades on my lids, contour the crease with Toasted Marshamallow+ Hot Cocoa and apply Moonstone in the inner lid and under the brown bone and I am good to go. The packaging is also great. It has a great sized mirror and its slim, so it fits my cosmetic pouch nicely. The satin shades It makes a great palette for me because it fits my busy life style. It might not be the perfect palette for holidays, but since I got to try almost all the highlighters from Becca in one palette, I am not going to complain. Also, this palette is only C$35 and on sale since launch, so its a very good price point to get a collection of Becca Highlighters.
There is nothing more luxurious in my skincare routine than the Skin Caviar Luxe Sleep Mask from La Prairie. I have loved La Prairie products in the past, so I was very excited to use this overnight treatment and experience the magic of Skin Caviar. Its so luxurious and my skin loves this product. I wake up to smoother, healthier looking skin and much less redness. Did I mention, my skin got irritated during my Banff vacation and for the past week at home, my only goal had only been to reduce the spots on my face. During the holidays, its hard to give as much attention to skincare as I would like because I am always surrounded by food and family and literally there is no time for a proper routine, other than cleansing and putting on this overnight treatment. Thankfully, the Luxe Sleep Mask is working to calm my skin down while nourishing it with caviar extracts. Its not just any luxury beauty treatment, it's so much more and its helping me achieve healthier skin that looks and feels beautifully smooth and firm. Wish I could bathe in this!

LA PRAIRIE Skin Caviar Luxe Sleep Mask
La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Sleep Maskis an overnight firming mask, that is rich in caviar extracts and helps to nourish and boost skin's long-term firmness. My skin was a mess until I started using this. It was red, flaky and in dire need of hydration. I broke out around the periphery of my face and had brown spots where the acne had dried. I badly needed a treatment that would nourish my skin, restore its overall texture and appearance and this Luxe Sleep Mask did exactly what I wanted and more. It brightened my complexion and my acne marks are improving quickly. I feel that my skin looks much more hydrated and well rested, even my husband noticed the difference! To apply, I simply cleanse my face (and I am back to hot cloth cleansing) and dot a generous amount of the Skin Caviar Luxe Sleep Mask on my forehead, cheeks and chin. Then using the brush I spread it evenly all over my face and then I massage the cream as instructed. I always wash and dry the application brush as mentioned on the packaging and I feel this step evenly spreads out the mask and ensures that every crevice on my face gets covered with this mask. The mask quickly absorbs in skin and does not feel heavy at all. It does not transfer to my pillows or my clothing. Its an exceptionally well formulated mask, that works so well over night. Every morning I wake up to smoother better looking skin. My skin looks brighter, smoother and my pores look much improved. I am hoping that my acne marks would lighten ultimately with continued usage because they certainly have improved over the course of two weeks. Now, I am so tempted to get the Luxe Eye Lift Cream to improve my undereye situation. Its crazy how much of a difference good skin can make to my overall self esteem and I am so excited that I am beginning this new year with a great skincare regimen. I have a few more skincare products that I will share this month and some very exciting high tech skincare tools.
First work week of 2018 had been anything but smooth for me, the sudden workload is too much and it includes too much caffeine. The stress is hard to hide and the last thing on my mind is to worry about whether my complexion looks even. I like to use foundations that provide a sheer coverage because they are easy to work with and if there are any acne marks or blemishes that need coverage, I could always use a little concealer. My complexion looks even and my skin still looks natural and effortless (literally though).
After the holidays I just want my skin to breathe, feel and look fresh and the foundation that lets me achieve that airy, fresh, glowy look, is this medium coverage, blurring foundation from Givenchy. Its called Teint Couture Balm and will be available exclusively at Sephora.ca. Givenchy recently launched an array of foundations that cater to various beauty needs so there is something for everyone.
I match almost perfectly with the shade number 5 - Nude Honey. Its a lovely medium beige with warm/neutral undertones.
Givenchy Teint Couture Balm is a blurring foundation balm that offers a nude finish and a light to medium coverage that can be layered without looking 'cakey'. I have been using this every day and I am very pleased with how well it holds up throughout the day. It promises a 12 hour wear and it looks fresh all day long. I did not even use a primer on most days and it never oxidized. It blurs out imperfections and makes pores nearly disappear. Even on my dry skin, it did not accentuate dry area, nor did it make my skin feel dry or oily. Teint Couture Balm is designed for all skin types.
I love that I can quickly apply this foundation using a buffing brush or just fingers, and it melts into skin quickly covering minor imperfections. For darker spots from acne and under eye area, I use my concealer for extra coverage.
The texture of this foundation is like a soft cream that feels non greasy and give a smooth and dry to touch feel to skin. It doesn't really need a setting powder, but with the Prism Libre I felt that it looked more matte and poreless.
This soft, balm like foundation helps me achieve a natural looking, nude finish look. Remember to shake the tube before applying. It easily spreads on skin, blurring imperfections, evens out complexion and lasts the entire work day. It's quickly become my go-to foundation and with that sleek packaging, its perfect for travel too.
Overall, I really enjoy this foundation for everyday use as it gives me a natural looking, radiant skin look. Its the kind of product I would love to take along on a vacation because it is a fuss free product in a compact, lightweight packaging. If you are looking for a light, airy foundation for spring/summer time, then this might be it!
