The Running in Cork blog is the largest website in Cork and Munster for news on road races and athletics. Included are a current race calendar, race previews, photos, results as well as some local, national and international news items.
The Charleville Half-Marathon is coming up on Sunday, the 15th of September 2019 at 10am and it is widely recognised as being one of the fastest courses in the country.
This is also an ideal race for anyone preparing for the Dublin City Marathon as it should give you a good guide as to what your target pace for Dublin should be.
Note there is a limit of 1600 entries and it sold out in 2016,
There was a huge turn out of almost 2,500 runners for this years Run Killarney Half-Marathon & 10k in Co Kerry with the numbers split pretty evenly between the two events.
A very large part of the field was from Co Cork and a number of Cork runners featured in the top 3 in both races.
The Half-Marathon was won by Alan O'Brien (#590) from Carrigaline pictured above in the lead group.

A grand total of 75 people took part in this weeks 5k parkrun in the Glen, the highest number since the 30th of March.

The village of Ardfield is located just to the south of Clonakilty in West Cork and is a lovely part of the county. The roads in general are relatively quiet and there are extensive views out over the West Cork countryside and coastline.
Next Friday the 26th of July 2019, there is a 10 km road race in the village.
The race is suitable for runners and walkers and it will be chip timed.
67 runners turned out for this one-mile race in Ballydesmond in NW Cork. This was the 4th race of 5 in the ongoing series organised by Gneeveuilla AC.

This 5km road race in Carraig na bhFear is coming up on Tuesday the 20th of August 2019 at 7:30pm.
The race is organised with the assistance of Carraig na bhFear AC and results will be published after the race.
From the organisers.... Carraig na bhFear GAA are hosting a fundraising 5k run in Carraig na bhFear on Tues 20th August at 7:30pm. Admission is €10 and a Family of 4 for €30.
