I am the owner of this website, Little Vintage Trailer and up for sale is one of my personal trailers. It’s a 1963 Yellowstone. I’ve really enjoyed this trailer over the years and as hard as it is to let it go, it’s time for someone else to enjoy it. This is not your average trailer. It’s closer to what I would consider a concourse trailer (show piece). Think of going to a classic car show and seeing a nicely restored classic car that has shiny new paint and that V8 engine that just purrrs. This is close to the equivalent of that. Not perfect, but close. If you are looking for an adorable trailer that isn’t a cookie cutter and oozes charm, this is a rare opportunity to own this beauty!

Some stats:

*1963 Yellowstone
*Length: 13 feet
*Weight: 1500 lbs
*Clear Michigan Title
*Includes professional Appraisal
*Bearings professionally repacked
*NO TOILET (I always just used a luggable loo)

When I bought the trailer it was in pretty amazing condition to begin with. The interior wood was virtually pristine and really didn’t need anything. The exterior skin was actually in pretty good shape too with a few love bumps on the lower front and the paint was faded. But wow, talk about charming!! This photo below was taken BEFORE the new skin and paint. So you can see it was in good condition but had some paint fading. I could of simply had the front lower panel replaced but I’m sort of a perfectionist….

This shows the lower front skin BEFORE it was replaced. Note it’s parked under a carport. It is always parked safely under a carport when not in use. Speaking of use, besides camping I’ve used this trailer at selling markets where I’ve set it up as part of my “Booth” to sell my art and vintage wares. It of course is always a big hit and is a huge customer magnet!

I ended up taking it to the ever so talented restoration experts at Vintage Trailer Restoration (VTR) and had them replace any signs of wood rot they found which wasn’t much at all. I recall them saying when they took the skin off how surprised they were by the condition of the framing and how well built it was. Yellowstone’s are known for being solidly built trailers. It had very little signs of rot. The little it had, they replaced. I also had them replace ALL the skin on the trailer including the roof. I had them remove the roof vent. WHY? Well, I just didn’t see it as a huge benefit as it didn’t really provide much in the way of air circulation and why have a hole in the roof that could potentially leak? So it was removed and it now has a continuous roof skin. They also installed some custom made lights for me in the rear bed area. The lights were found by a friend of theirs and hand painted to match originals. I love those lights! They also did some other repairs such as the storage door, fixed a window crank, added a spare tire holder to the rear bumper, checked the propane lines and a few other little things. Below is links to photos where you can see the details of the work they did.

Here are a couple photos at the shop after it received all new skin and new painted. For more of the restoration see the links above.

In this photo below it’s a little difficult to see but I had the shop add a spare tire holder on the back bumper. The spare tire is stored there now and it’s great! No more lugging it around.

Here is a photos of the trailer after. That new paint sure looks amazing! Isn’t that awning adorable??! It will be included in the sale with a full-price offer! I had it custom made.

This trailer was professionally appraised by Tim Heintz of Heintz Designs last year which will be included with the sale. This is a good resource to have for valuation for seeking out agreed value insurance. The report is quite long and includes his findings that brought him to the valuation, including photos and other info. So this below is just one page.

This trailer was featured on the front page of the Home section in the New York Times. A professional photographer came out and took photos and a writer from The NY Times also came out and interviewed me. The new owners will receive a copy of the newspaper as a keepsake.

The trailer also comes with a set of professionally made custom zippered removable/washable cushion covers. This includes a set of 2 different base color/pattern cushions for the dinette and rear gaucho. I wanted to be able to change colors now and then It also has a custom single mattress cushion cover that is also zippered and removeable for the upper bunk. Keep in mine that the upper cab over bunk pulls out and creates a double sized sleeping area but we have just one small child so always left it as a single. If you don’t have a child it’s a great place for extra storage.

Shown below with the aqua and white trim base cushion covers.

Now shown with the solid red base cushion covers.

The curtains were also custom made and here is a close up.

The dinette pillows with the fox on them I bought from a handmade seller and will include those in the sale if the buyer wants them as they look so sweet on the dinette.
