Rimmel London launched some new eye products recently. I love their Kajal pencils and when I noticed that they dropped some new eye pencils, I went ahead and picked two of them. In today’s post, I am going to talk about the “Rimmel London Scandaleyes 2-in-1 Brow and Liner Kajal” in the shade “Blazing Bronze”. Read on to find out how this fared for me.
$9 AUD for 1.3 g
Fill brows with stunning, eye-catching colours. 24H wear, waterproof Kajal for both your brows and eyes.
My Experience with Rimmel London Scandaleyes 2-in-1 Brow and Liner Kajal Blazing Bronze:
This product comes in a sharp enable color coded pencil format with a transparent cap. The shade name and the product details are present on the pencil itself.
Rimmel has four shades in this line comprising of shades called as “Hypnotic Gold”, “Cobalt Craze”, “Blazing Bronze” and “Fierce Fushcia”. All the shades are bright and sparkly and the shade “Blazing Bronze” is true to its name and is indeed a blazing brownish bronze shade.
The formula of this pencil is very soft and creamy and it feels like a gel eye pencil. The pencil glides on the eyes without tugging and pulling. This works wonderfully well as a eyeliner and also as a kajal pencil. The pigmentation is amazing and gives full on color opacity. This pencil has a sparkly finish and it is literally a glitter eye pencil. Though the glitter looks pretty on the eyes, at the end of the day, the glitter alone spreads everywhere around the eyes. Rimmel marketed this pencil as a brow and kajal pencil and I find that this is not feasible as glittery bright colored brow product is just unimaginable.
The staying power of this pencil is awesome as the color stays all day. The pencil is waterproof and stays put without smudging or moving. Overall, I like the pencil as it is highly pigmented, waterproof, smudgeproof and looks pretty except that the glitter moves around a bit and the wrong marketing of this pencil as a brow product is a bit on the downside.
Pros of Rimmel London Scandaleyes 2-in-1 Brow and Liner Kajal Blazing Bronze:
Cons of Rimmel London Scandaleyes 2-in-1 Brow and Liner Kajal Blazing Bronze:
Glitter moves around.
Using it as a brow product is not feasible.
IMBB Rating: 3.5/5 Would I Repurchase/Recommend Rimmel London Scandaleyes 2-in-1 Brow and Liner Kajal Blazing Bronze?
Yes to both.
I have been a bit #MIA because of personal issues. So, this whole set of reviews which I have planned for you has been going to the back burner time and again. I hope I am able to pick this entire lot of products from the back burner and do a constant slew of reviews for you. Sometime back, I think Team IMBB had posted a question about what would people want reviewed on IMBB and someone had categorically asked for more brush reviews, specifically higher-end brush reviews. I have done a few brush reviews in the past, but have a whole lot more to share. I had wanted to do these for a while now but colour makeup always took precedence! I am trying to change that. Going forth, you will see a slew of high-end brush reviews on IMBB.
Just a couple of point to note:
These brushes have been added into my stash over a couple of years – if not more. So, even if you like some of the brushes – understand that you don’t need to go out and buy them in one go. Build up your collection over time.
Remember that brushes – like any other tool – are an investment. So, while they may cost a certain amount – they can last you a lifetime if taken good care of.
I have seen my preference in brushes changing over time – depending on my application method. I prefer different shape, material, style to what I used to prefer maybe 2 years back.
Just because one brush works really well for me does not necessarily equate to the brush working really well for you. A lot will depend on the style of application, the type and quality of products which one is using to apply with these brushes.
Keeping this points in mind, I will try to ensure that I do justice to the product as well as share my thoughts regarding my preferred style of application and what products I use it for.
Today’s review is on another brush from Sonia G. I had introduced this brand last week on IMBB when I reviewed the “Sculpt Three Brush” for you.
Buff mineral powders into the skin with a second-skin finish, thanks to this handcrafted powder brush from Sonia G. About Face One: Designed by beauty blogger and makeup brush expert Sonia G. for mineral powder foundations, Face One is a fluffy powder brush with velvety natural bristles. Face One features the perfect size, shape, grip, and density for blending powders of all types to a smooth, poreless finish without disturbing makeup underneath.
“This was the very first brush I wanted to work on. Finding the perfect combination of density, softness, and material was so important.” — Sonia G.
Why It’s Special: Buff mineral foundations, finishing and setting powders, and even sheer bronzers into the skin with a natural finish—Face One makes fast, flawless powder application easier than ever. Each brush is handbound by master artisans in Japan using traditional brush-making techniques for unparalleled performance and craftsmanship. The sturdy handle is made from dense, sustainably harvested maple wood and coated with four layers of pigment and lacquer for a rich, dimensional finish
How To Use:
Swirl product with the tip of the brush and tap off any excess. Apply and blend using circular motions. Other Details: Hair type: Dyed saikoho goat. For use with powder products. Price:
UDS 75 (Exclusive to Beautylish).
My Experience with Sonia G. Face One Brush:
The brush came in a cellophane sheet with a separate sheath protecting just the brush head. Simple packaging, no fan fare.
Sonia G, initially launched about 6 brushes – as a set. About a month later, they were also available for purchase individually. After the lapse of some more time, she launched a handful of new brushes – individually. As per Sonia – the original set of brushes worked well as a set. Whereas, the new releases were on a need to incorporate basis. So, you buy the brush which works for you and your style of application.
This new collection had the “Face One” brush. The moment I saw it, my first thought was, okay don’t need that for sure! Unfortunately (for my wallet), I saw a couple of reviews which convinced me that I NEEDED this brush! And I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.
Hair Type: Goat hair but Saikoho goat hair, which is one of the softest, most delicate goat hair and come from the chest/neck of the goat. This makes the brush super soft on the skin and yet have tenacity (because it’s goat hair).
Hair Colour: Dyed Hair. This ensures that apart from being aesthetically appealing, brush picks up product more efficiently.
To be used with: For use with powder products. This may be because the brush hair are dyed and may bleed if used with cream/liquid products.
Shape: The brush has a round ferrule – fanning out in a circle. It does not taper at all. At first glance, it may look like any other stippling type of brush; however, its genius lays in application. The brush handle is much thicker than the other face brushes in her collection.
Purpose: For application of powder on face – allowing you to buff the powder in without moving the foundation underneath. The shape of the brush is unlike most other powder brushes in the market. As per Sonia – while all her brushes are exclusive, this was the first one she wanted to design because as per her, there wasn’t a brush which fit this purpose (please note – not shape, but purpose) in her collection of over 2000 brushes. She wanted something that could ensure the application was flawless and had to devise the brush shape from scratch. So, the length, the size, the grip, the density had to be just right.
Application: The flared brush handle allows one to pick up just the right amount of product, which can be stippled onto the face before buffing it in. The dense hair and the grip of the handle ensure it makes a meal out of the buffing process; while the airiness of the top of the head ensures that the product is applied without the foundation moving. It is an absolute delight to use and has made me a huge convert into the whole buffing cult. I have used loose setting and finishing powders and pressed finishing powder with it. In each scenario, it picked up the product very well and deposited it seamlessly. I am in Love!
Pros of Sonia G. Face One Brush:
Well made, balanced brush.
Natural Saikoho hair.
Extremely effective for its identified job.
Did not shed on washing.
Quite a workhorse.
Gives a controlled application.
Extremely soft bristles.
Cons of Sonia G. Face One Brush:
Nothing at all.
5/5 Would I Recommend Sonia G. Face One Brush?
This is probably my most favourite brush from Sonia G’s collection. It is a delight to work with. I use it to apply my loose setting powder and to apply a finishing powder as a last step of makeup, buffing it in with this brush so that the application of all the existing products (foundation, blush, contour, highlight) looks seamlessly blended. I think it is an excellent tool for someone like me who finds powder products a necessary evil, thanks to my oily to combo skin type – I need to use powders to set my makeup, to keep oil in check while ensuring they don’t look caked on. However, I do not feel their use exclusive to someone with oily skin. I feel, someone with dry skin would also benefit deeply from it because the brush would help buff a finishing powder without micro-exfoliating your skin during application. This one is truly a joy to work with! I do recommend absolutely.

My Experience with bareMinerals GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lipstick Scandal:
The packaging of this lippie is simple and cute. It comes in a sturdy transparent tube with a black cap. The tube bears the brand name and the shade name is present at the bottom. There is also an outer black box containing all the product details and ingredient list. The lipstick has a flat paddle brush applicator that helps in the precise application of the product.
This collection features more than twenty shades of nude colors that will suit almost all complexions. “Scandal” is a gorgeous brownish nude shade with a hint of pink. This will be a gorgeous nude for tanned complexions and will be a stunning brown on lighter skin tones.
This liquid lipstick has a sweet vanilla fragrance which is subtle and not over the top. The formula of this lippie is very nice, the consistency is not too thick nor too thin, but it does feel creamy on the lips. The liquid lipstick is very comfortable and feels lightweight on the lips. The formula is non-drying and it is almost transfer-proof.
The lipstick feels moisturizing and doesn’t cling to dry patches on the lips. The pigmentation of this product is also very good. It gives opaque color payoff in one swipe. The staying power of this lipstick is decent, it lasts a good five plus hours and survives light meals. The lipstick fades a bit with oily meals, but that’s not a issue as the reapplication of the lipstick is pretty easy.
Having said all that, lets sum up the pros and cons
Pros of bareMinerals GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lipstick Scandal:
Pinky brown nude color.
Thin creamy consistency.
Cons of bareMinerals GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lipstick Scandal:
Need more nude shades for deeper complexions.
IMBB Rating: 4.75/5 Would I Repurchase/Recommend bareMinerals GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lipstick Scandal?
Yes to both, this is an amazing formula.
Today, I am going to review L. A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint in the shade “Flirt”. Read on for more details about this beautiful shade.
Our intensely pigmented Glazed Lip Paints give the appearance of a lipstick with the ease and glossy finish of a lipgloss. The Glazed Collection includes 18 trendsetting colors that provide hyper glossy and ultra rich color to lips. Added benefit of the formula includes vitamin E and peppermint oil to cool and nourish lips. Applicator with precise tip is provided for smooth and even application.
Price and Quantity:
INR 650 for 12 ml
My Experience with L. A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint Flirt:
Beginning with the packaging of the product. The packaging of the product is cute. The color-coded tubes are easy to spot in makeup stash. The tube bears the detailing in quirky fonts. It is an easy squeeze tube with a nice metallic gold colored screw on cap. The cap closes tightly and makes the tube leak-proof. The tube is handy and easy to carry in handbag. It has normal plastic slant tip and applicator. Though, the slant tip is helpful in giving précised application but I feel it would have been better if the applicator would be a foamy one. Overall, the packaging is nice and travel-friendly.
“Flirt” is a light baby pink color. This is a pale shade and it washes out my complexion. I may carry this shade but only with a proper base makeup, otherwise it looks weird on me. This shade is ideally suitable for fair skin tones only. This is a nice option for summers. But, this shade is ideally not suitable for most of the Indian skin tones. The lipstick is decently pigmented. It gives semi-opaque coverage in a single swipe. I apply two coats, which helps me in hiding the pigmentation of the lips and delivers opaque rich pigment to the lips. The color is easily buildable. The finish of this lipstick is glossy but it is not super shiny. I love the soft sheen it has, as I do not really like high shine products. There are no shimmers in this lip paint. It gives a nice tingling sensation to the lip due to menthol. I don’t mind it but everyone may not like this. Since it is a pastel shade, it goes slightly streaky upon application, but this can be managed by pursing the lips together.
The texture of the lipstick is soft and smooth. The formula is creamy more like a liquid lipstick. Hence, it glides effortlessly on the lips without any tugging or pulling. The consistency is a little runny and the product oozes out with a little squeezing of the tube. So, I have to be extra careful while squeezing the tube. It looks thick like lip paint. Initially, I tried applying this with a brush but that did not work and then I applied directly from the tube. The tube itself helps in giving précised lip lines and gives smoother application. The lip paint adheres to the lips nicely. It does not settle into the fine lines of the lips. The lipstick has a tendency to transfer due to its creaminess. The formula feels comfortable on the lips. It does not have that thick or waxy kind of texture. The glossy sheen remains, as it is all the time. It looks so fresh and beautiful. It is non-drying on the lips and helps in providing mild moisturization to the lips.
The lasting power is around 4 hours on my lips with normal sipping of water. Removing the lipstick is easy. It gets wiped off without much effort with a makeup remover wipe.
Pros of L. A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint Flirt:
Nice slant tip applicator.
Gives précised application.
Pretty baby pink shade.
Only for fair skin tones.
Nice glossy finish.
Gives cooling sensation to the lips.
Apt for fair skin tones.
Not thick or waxy.
Stays for around 4 hours.
Survives normal drinking.
Does not settle into the fine lines of lips.
Cons of L. A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint Flirt:
Very pale color.
Will wash out most of the Indian skin tones.
Does not survive heavy meals.
IMBB Rating: 3.8/5 Will I Repurchase/Recommend L. A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint Flirt?
Yes, if it goes with your skin tone, you may give it a shot.
Today I’m going to review ‘Coloressence Super Extend Eyeliner’. I bought it towards the end of the last year and have used it many times. That makes me qualified enough to give you a decent review, you see! 😀
Price: ₹150 for 6 ml Claims:
• Organic Eyeliner
• Tip Type: Dip tip
My Experience with Coloressence Super Extend Eyeliner:
The packaging is a complete black plastic bottle with a silver long dip tip lid. The brush is quite long and I have no issues with the brush or the bristles, or its length. The eyeliner is well-pigmented and just a stroke after a good shake gives absolutely good results for the price. In fact, I don’t see any difference between this one and the pricey ones that I have tried so far. Even after it dries, a hard press smudges just a very little product.
It comes with the shelf life of 3 years., which makes it absolutely suitable for once in a while users like me. It is more on the budget side and gives decent results for everyday usage. It gives a matte finish and you would need maximum two strokes to finish your look. As you can see in the picture, it has a very deep black color. And if you’re not a heavy party freak, you can carry it to various occasions as well. It color stays intact for up to 4-5 hours (for me) without any smudging. But after that, it spreads its black pigment around my eyes giving me panda eyes.
This is best for everyday use when you want to go out for a few hours and don’t want to use your costly eyeliners. One thing I would like to mention is that if you apply only thin lines you can safely use this eyeliner for more than 5 hours. Otherwise, it’s not reliable and safe. If you apply thicks lines with it for an extended time period make sure to keep a mirror handy to check yourself.
Pros of Coloressence Super Extend Eyeliner:
• Highly pigmented
• Easy to use long brush
• Can be applied in 1 or 2 strokes
• Easy on the pocket
• Best for day to day use
• Super extend-able, as the name suggests
• Claims to be an organic eyeliner
• Waterproof to a good extent
Cons of Coloressence Super Extend Eyeliner:
• Definitely not completely smudge-proof
• Doesn’t last all day long
IMBB Rating: 3.75/5 Would I Recommend Coloressence Super Extend Eyeliner?
I would recommend this eyeliner for everyday usage.
I love trying new Korean skin care since they are quite gimmicky and fun to try. Today, I will be reviewing Neogen Dermalogy Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser.
INR 2500/US $27 Product Description:
Canadian Clay Pore cleanser is made with micro-particles of natural glacial marine soil, colloidal clay from West Coast British Columbia, Canada and carbonated water ingredients. This intensive pore mask instantly absorbs and cleanses away trapped dead skin cells, excess sebum, wastes, blackheads, and even makeup inside pores without any irritation or pain. It also minimizes enlarged pores, lifts up sagging skin, and evens out skin texture leaving skin clean, refreshed, and vitalized.
My Experience with Neogen Dermalogy Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser:
Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser comes housed in a white plastic jar with 120 gm of product in it. The cap of the jar is a twist-up jar. There is a brush that comes along with the mask that is densely packed and is soft to touch. The name of the brand and product is printed on the front of the jar.
Neogen Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser is a bubble mask which when applied on to the skin, carbonates and forms bubbles. It cleanses the skin deeply and pores became clean. The mask is supposed to be applied on the skin directly and within 5 mins, it forms bubbles on the skin. It is advised to let the mask fully carbonate and then use the brush that comes along with it to clean pores.
The mask lathers up quite nicely once it has been cleansed with the brush. I personally do not see any use of the brush since I am not a big fan of brushes when it comes to masks. After washing the mask off, I feel my skin looks clean and even toned. Also, the pores appear clean, but apart from that, I haven’t noticed any difference in the size of facial pores. I also didn’t feel it did any “lifting,” which this mask claims.
It does remove my blackheads, which was a blessing for me since I have severe blackheads problem around my nose. This mask is easy to wash off and has a really nice faint scent to it. This mask can also be applied on makeup and it removes makeup efficiently. I do not notice any trace of makeup after washing this mask off. It doesn’t remove waterproof makeup, though for that, you may need to have a waterproof makeup remover handy along with this pore cleanser.
Pros of Neogen Dermalogy Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser:
Cleans and even out skin.
Pores seems clear.
Comes with a brush.
Easy to wash off.
Lathers up well.
Cons of Neogen Dermalogy Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser:
No difference in size of pores.
Doesn’t remove waterproof makeup.
Doesn’t firm up skin.
Would I Recommend Neogen Dermalogy Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser?
Yes, if you have blackheads, otherwise there are better options in the market. IMBB Rating:
This is my first time trying and testing a squalane-based product. I have used retinol-based products but didn’t really indulge in them. “The Ordinary” brand has given me the opportunity to dabble with some natural acids and chemicals that I would not dare think of using otherwise. I am still dabbling with using extreme chemicals on my face such as acids and peptides, but so far, I am enjoying their results, so I think I will continue experimenting with them while being cautious. When these chemicals are used in the right concentration and in combination with right co-ingredients, they prove beneficial for skin. In this post, I am reviewing The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane.
This water-free solution contains a 2% concentration of an advanced retinoid active complex called Granactive Retinoid that has been shown to offer better results against multiple signs of aging than retinol without any of the irritation and drawbacks common with retinol. Granactive Retinoid, an active technology from Grant Industries, is a solubilized system of Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, a highly-advanced form of retinoid which is, in fact, a non-prescription ester of all-trans direct retinoic acid that offers a multi-fold better effect against signs of aging than retinol, retinyl palmitate and nearly all other forms of non-prescription retinoid. Apply a small amount to face in the PM as part of your skincare regimen, after water serums but before heavier treatments. Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Avoid unprotected solar exposure. Store in a cool, dry place. Price:
My Experience with The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane:
This product contains squalane as its first ingredient and this makes up for most of the product. Squalane is derived from squalene which is part of our skin’s own natural moisture but it is extremely unstable. When squalene is hydrogenated, it converts to skin-friendlier and safer squalane. The amount of squalene produced and retained in the skin decreases over time. It peaks in our teens and then starts to decline in our 20’s, leaving skin rough, dry and vulnerable. Hence, to combat visible signs of ageing, a supplemental source of squalene can be beneficial.
This product contains 2% concentration of an “advanced retinoid active complex” called Granactive retinoid that has, as per the website description, shown better results against multiple signs of ageing. It has performed better than retinol and does not cause irritation which is a common drawback of retinol. Granactive Retinoid has proven to be better all other forms of non-prescription retinoid. The packaging of this product is pretty and practical. It comes a 30ml, glass bottle (dark color glass bottle) which is practical and serves the purpose well. The cap has a dropper which dispenses the appropriate amount of product for one-time use. The oil is yellow in color but is invisible on skin.
I use this product after my water-based skin care products (toners and water-based serums). I use it as a face oil and the days I use this way, I do not layer a lot of skin care products because retinoid is a strong chemical and does not blend well with most skin care products. I do not have age spots or blemishes, so I cannot comment about the potency of this serum in this regard, but because of its high moisture content, it started to give a hydrated appearance to face (I used it for over a month). It did effectively reduce fine lines and large pores and gave a youthful, glowing appearance to skin. This formula is not an over-night formula and needs patience and diligence and will take its own time to show its effect. I do not think it can fight age spots but can fights sign of ageing (due to skin losing its moisture).
I use it after cleanser, toner and essence. The product has no fragrance, it is lightweight and easy to spread on face. Just a couple of drops are enough to cover and face. It does not interfere with the following skin care steps. The Ordinary recommends that up to three different skincare products by the brand can be layered. I recommend this product to all those who are looking for potent and affordable anti-ageing skincare serum.
Pros of The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane:
An affordable face oil compared to other more expensive options.
Comes in a 30ml glass bottle with a dropper. The packaging is practical and serves its purpose well.
The product has no fragrance, it is lightweight, and is easy to spread. A small amount goes a long way.
Gets absorbed quickly into the skin, preps skin for further layering of skincare products.
After weeks of use, it gave a more hydrated appearance to face and reduced signs of ageing that appear due to skin losing its moisture.
Different versions of this product are available with varying percentage of retinoid.
Cons of The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane:
The ingredient list is rife with complex compounds, so a patch test is essential.
It might not work on age spots.
Would I Recommend The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane?
It is an affordable face oil and perfect for first-time users. It has some potent compounds which will work well at combating early signs of ageing. It does not cause irritation and is suitable for sensitive skin as well. IMBB Rating:
We all love to flaunt lush, long, beautiful lashes. Unfortunately, I’m not blessed with long lashes, so I seek solace in volumizing and lengthening mascaras. Mascara is a magic product that has the ability to make our eyes pop. Even when you want to skip your eyeliner, a swipe of your trusty mascara can open up your eyes with a dash of drama. Since it’s an integral part of our makeup routine, choosing the right one is really important. You don’t need to splurge on a luxe mascara, Kiko Milano has a variety of them that are way more pocket-friendly.
Price: GBP 7.20 (INR 650 approx.) Product Description:
• Extreme volume and maximum definition, in a single stroke.
• Volumizing mascara with an elastomer maxi applicator.
• The special spiral shape of the applicator, in synergy with its special texture, captures every single lash, coating it with a light, even sheath. The lashes gain volume and definition from the first application. The creamy texture with a shiny finish and intense black colour optimally lasts over time, for a flawless look.
• Clinically tested to hold up to 16 hours.
• Available in black.
• Ophthalmologically tested.
• Fragrance free.
My Experience with Kiko Milano Luxurious Lashes Extra Volume Brush Mascara:
It comes in a big fat white tube with golden cap. The brush is indeed nice. It does give volume to the lashes and opens them up. The mascara has the screw lock system where the applicator brush is attached to the cap. The applicator is very thick and broad and should be used carefully on puny lashes. Overall, it’s a travel-friendly tube.
I’m an avid fan of Kiko Milano. There was this deal going on certain products from the brand, so I bought this mascara. The best way is to place it beneath your lashes and roll it as you move upwards instead of doing straight strokes. Continue building lashes until you reach your desired look. Do not let dry between coats. Repeat on the lower lash line.
The brush, being thick, has more chances of spreading the product around during application, so it has to be used carefully, especially on the inner corners and lower lashes. The formula is quite thick but doesn’t weigh down on my very puny lashes. It surely adds volume to the lashes in two coats, but not much length.
I have puny lashes, so this product doesn’t really help to give dramatic look to my eyes. It’s nowhere mentioned that it’s waterproof, but it doesn’t melt away. The company claims the lasting power of 16 hours, although the volume effect lasts 5-6 hours only. Lastly, it comes off easily with any eye makeup remover.
Pros of Kiko Milano Luxurious Lashes Extra Volume Brush Mascara:
• Good formula
• Adds dramatic volume
• Doesn’t flake off
• Doesn’t wash off or smear even in summers
• Easy to remove
Cons of Kiko Milano Luxurious Lashes Extra Volume Brush Mascara:
• It doesn’t add visible length
• Doesn’t last for 16 hours
IMBB Rating: 4/5 Would I Repurchase/Recommend Kiko Milano Luxurious Lashes Extra Volume Brush Mascara?
Well, I would not like to repurchase this one. It is recommended for women with long and thick lashes. Considering mascaras have a shelf life of only 3-4 months or so, I would say snoop around before you invest in this one.
Today, I am going to review Lotus Professional Dermo Spa Brazilian Anti-Ageing Skin Firming Creme. Read on to know how it fared for me.
Price and Quantity: INR 775 for 50 g
My Experience with Lotus Professional Dermo Spa Brazilian Anti-Ageing Skin Firming Creme:
The cream comes in a translucent frosty finish brown colored glass jar. This jar has detailing on it in pretty gold fonts and it has a mirror finish gold screw on lid. The lid closes tightly and makes this tub packaging leak-proof. There is a safety cover inside, which helps to keep the jar and its lid clean and mess-free. But, the glass jar is bulky for carrying during travels and needs to be stored securely to prevent breakage. The jar does not bear much information about the product on it. The entire product related information is printed on its outer packaging.
The cream is pure white in colour. It has a very nice fragrance. The smell is a little strong and it might be bothersome for some as it stays for around half an hour and then fades away gradually. The texture of the cream is on the thicker side. It has a thick body butter kind of formula. It is creamy smooth and glides effortlessly on the skin but the thick formula takes time to get absorbed into the skin properly.
The formula is slightly heavier on the skin as compared to the Japanese Sakura variant. It requires good massaging to make the product sink into the skin properly. The brand claims it to be suitable for all skin types, but as far as I feel, it is not for oily skin type as it makes the skin slightly oily. So, it would definitely make oily skin very greasy. My skin has been changing slowly.
Earlier my skin type was combination-oily but my skin is changing to normal to dry these days. As a result, my skin requires too much moisturization and nourishment as it gets dry and stretchy every 5-6 hours. Also, I have started getting fine lines around my lips and nose. So, I decided to get a good anti-ageing product. Initially, I was using one from Jovees but that turned out to be a disaster for me and I stopped using it. Then, I switched to this crème by Lotus Herbals. And I found it really nourishing for my skin.
I use it once a day. The crème is very moisturizing and hydrating. It takes away flakiness and dryness from my skin and makes my skin livelier. The formula is slightly thick and heavy on the skin. But, the crème does not really feel like sitting on the skin and gets absorbed nicely. It leaves a light sheath on the skin and does not make my skin too greasy. The crème is enriched with murumuru butter and shea butter, which are well-known for deeply replenishing the skin. Both of these have good anti-ageing properties.
This cream just provides ample amount of moisturization to the skin. My skin feels soft, smooth and bouncy. It also helps to refine the skin texture and it has added a healthy glow to the skin. This crème comes with SPF 20. This is pretty safe to be used on my sensitive skin as it does not break me out. Overall, this is a decent product for normal to dry skin types.

I have tried epilators by 2 brands – Panasonic and Phillips and I have tried a face epilator by Braun. The epilator in this post is a major upgrade for me – performance-wise and money-wise. I have been debating investing in a good epilator for over a while now and after my Phillips epilator started performing poorly, I decided to do some research and invest in an upgraded version. I have been trying all the 12 extras that come with this model and form an opinion before the return period runs out.
Our fastest and most precise epilator, the Braun Silk-epil 9 Wet&Dry epilator removes even the shortest hairs that wax cannot catch for up to 4 weeks long lasting salon-smooth skin. Attach the new deep exfoliation brush and reduce ingrown hair with an exfoliation performance that is 6x more effective than a manual scrub alone. The gentle exfoliation brush visibly refines your skin for an irresistibly smooth and silky feeling. The shaving head is great for removing hair even in the most sensitive zones. The latest addition to the family: The Deep Massage pad for significantly better blood circulation and visibly improved skin appearance.
My Experience with Braun Silk-épil 9 SkinSpa 9-961V Wet and Dry Epilator:
Most of us know how an epilator works and the concept about it – it has several tiny tweezers that grab hair and pull them off a very high speed. The epilator in this post has 20 tweezers that can run at 2 different speed settings. It comes with a smart light that reveals even the finest hair and this is an amazing feature because, with my previous epilator I needed to use my cell phone torch.
The epilator head has three kinds of covers – first is the regular plastic case which exposes all the 40 tweezers, second is like the first one except it does not expose all the 40 tweezers and is meant for delicate areas like face or underarms and so on, third has tiny bearings that vibrate to abate pain a little.
It comes with 2 exfoliating brush heads (a separate attachment is provided that attaches them to the main epilator body and each has a plastic case) and one is gentler than the other. I tried using the gentler one on my face and found it a bit too abrasive for everyday use. For body exfoliation, I wish that these brushes were a bit more abrasive and covered more surface area.
It comes with a massage head which has tiny pillars to improve blood circulation and fight cellulite. It works well except that it will be better if it covered more surface area. It also comes with a shaver head and a trimmer cap. This feature is perfect for trimming hair in areas where waxing or epilation is not an option.
This epilator can be fully charged in one hour and gives 40 minutes of run time when completely charged (little less when used wet). I have been using all its attachments in shower to first see if this device is indeed waterproof and second to see if epilation under hot water is as efficient as dry epilation and less painful. I used this device to epilate my arms and legs under hot shower. It worked well at grabbing tiny hair from my arms, under arms and legs and pulling them off instead of breaking them. Best part, it did not hurt at all under hot stream of water. This epilator is expensive but with all its attachments, its cordless feature and its efficiency as an epilator makes it worth the price.
Pros of Braun Silk-épil 9 SkinSpa 9-961V Wet and Dry Epilator:
Comes with 12 attachments, all with unique features and good performance.
Waterproof and runs for 40 minutes with full charge.
Has 40 tweezers that can run at 2 different speeds.
Comes with a smart light that makes small hair visible.
Tweezers are efficient at grabbing hair that even waxing can’t grab.
Comes with 2 exfoliating brush heads and a deep massage head – good to avoid ingrown hair and cellulite, respectively.
Comes with a shaver head and a trimmer cap which work well for hair removal from sensitive areas.
Works well under water and can epilate efficiently even under hot shower.
Cons of Braun Silk-épil 9 SkinSpa 9-961V Wet and Dry Epilator:
Expensive and models with fewer attachments might suit some.
Exfoliating brushes and massage head cover small amount of surface area at a time.
