We all have that one piece in your wardrobe that you know will work for any occasion?! Yep, that’s the jumpsuit for me. Don’t get me wrong, a mini/maxi dresses are high up there on the list, but there is something so wearable about the jumpsuit, that it has to be my number one. But not only wearability, the jumpsuit is that comfortable piece of clothing that covers you in all the right places, elongates the figure and makes you look like the sassiest, classiest girl in the room.
I’m a big fan. You may have noticed I’ve rocked quite a few awesome jumpsuits recently, and my collection is ever growing. I Just added this Tahari plus size jumpsuit to my closet and let’s just say I’m obsessed. I just love V-Neck detail and Belted Cropped wide-leg on this Jumpsuit. Heads up I’m rocking a size 18 and the fit is perfect – just look at the images.
There will be a lot of you guys who have never ventured into the jumpsuit aisles before, and my aim is to change that! Granted, there are A LOT of awful, ill-fitting jumpsuits in the stores that really won’t work for you. Hell, I’ve tried on some truly despicable cuts before, I know the feeling. But trust me – if you can find one in the right thickness of the fabric, the perfect drape around the legs, the perfect neckline and cut over your cleavage and with a back that has that wow factor, you’re sorted!
So have a peek below. I’ve selected few of my current my favorite jumpsuits in the stores right now that I feel will suit all different shapes and sizes! You never know, it might be exactly what you’re after for your next wedding reception/party/night out/date night!
Jumpsuit with Belts
A belt is a vital accessory to pulling off a jumpsuit, particularly if you’re still unsure about the style. By adding a belt to your jumpsuit, you’ll help define your waist in a highly flattering way.
Wide-leg looks great on all bodies especially when they are cropped the key is for the cropped pant to be hemmed at the right spot.
One of my favorite childhood memories has to be watching my mom great dressed for work/outings. I use to sit around waiting for her to finish off her look with her favorite fragrance. From there my mother would also signal for me to come her way so she could share her scent of the day with me. I’m now living out the same memories with my daughter except we debate about which will be out fragrance fit the day. What mom doesn’t love looking and smelling good and with Mother’s Day is just around the corner and it’s the perfect time to gift fragrance to the mom in your life. My special mom is my grandmother and I know she’s going to love the fragrance I picked for her from Sephora.
Now that I am a mother myself, Mothers Day has become a different kind of day for me. Bittersweet, mainly because my mother isn’t here anymore. Even though my mother is no longer here with me her scent lives in my memory forever. Everyone has a scent and your mother’s scent will forever be stuck with you from childhood. My mother always picked floral, citrus scents which I make sure to include in when picking out my Fragrances.
I love when my mini-me watches me get dressed and grabs our fragrance of the day. Sometimes we even have to toss a coin to figure out the scent of the day. Our current favorite fragrance is Versace Bright Crystal and after taking Sephora’s Fragrance Quiz – online I found a new favorite Marc Jacobs Daisy which has the floral citrus scent that reminds me of my mother.
Getting perfume for a Mom is a very personal and special gift that you definitely want to take your time choosing – you want to help create memories. If you’re looking something special or the perfect scent for a loved one in your life – be sure to head to
Soooooo guys lets chat about the single life. As many of you may now know- ya girl is officially on the market and ready to mingle, well let’s just say I’m finally settling into my single season. My Singleness has me re-evaluating my love for myself and my level of self-appreciation. For me right now it’s all about finding my own joy and catching a couple of vibes (dates) here and there. Basically just doing whatever makes me happy.
But, can I be honest with you guys? I was scared as hell when I created my 1st profile on a dating app, I had a total am I really doing this moment lol. It took me a minute to really own my single life like this is it I’m a single woman out here in these streets. With that said I’m truly enjoying this moment and couldn’t be more proud of myself for putting myself out there and sticking to my own rules and terms. Today I’m here to share 5 rules I’m sticking to during my single season.
Being that I’m just getting out of a relationship that lasted 10 years (on and off) I’m definitely not looking to jump into another relationship anytime soon (maybe after summer lol). Right now I’m still building my empire and figuring out my life. I’m here catching vibes just going with the flow. All of this leads me to my first single girl rule:
Rule #1 Have Fun
Girl let your hair down and have fun! Being 100% single (no ties to your ex) is the most freeing feeling ever. Once you’re over feeling lonely or drama from the last relationship watch how being single can be so empowering. Start a hobby, spend time with friends and family and go on a date. As a single woman, you hold the key to your exclusivity and it’s up to you how quick you give it away especially while dating. I had a couple of people ask me “does having fun while dating mean having sex” let me be all the way honest: I’m single and grown so IF I WANT TO HAVE SEX, IM GOING TO HAVE SEX- and if I don’t want to, I’m not. Does that mean sex with everyone HELL NO. Have your fun while dating remember people come in your life for reasons and seasons.
RULE #2 Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there when it comes to dating
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. The worst that could happen is that the other person is not interested. Me being single and jumping head first into the online dating world has been a truly enjoyable experience. Creating my first profile for an online dating app was so nerve-racking especially after being in a relationship for so long. I’m not the girl who approaches men, well at least I thought I wasn’t. Online dating has really given me confidence and encouragement to approach men in person. Swiping right is all cool but trust most men on these dating apps ALL SWIPE RIGHT just because- but that’s chat about that next week lol.
Let’s also note with putting yourself out there you will hit a few bumps on the road. I’ve already had one guy ghost me on the day of our scheduled date and girllll he tried to pop back in my life weeks later my response: sir what we not about to do is act like you didn’t ghost me weeks ago (blocked). Just because you’re having fun DON’T TAKE ANY BS from these men, keep your standards of what your willing to accept and not accept when i comes to dating.
Rule #3 Always be yourself, and never apologize for that.
After my 3rd date, I realized that I’m truly a whole vibe, yes you know you the shit but getting confirmation while on a date is so refreshing- not confirmation from the person but from your inner aura you can just feel the energy and vibe. There’s so much beauty in being yourself and going with the flow but also, remember you’re single, good vibes come and go.
Rule #4 Keep your heart and mind open to the world.
When a person is single, they are free to direct all their energy and attention on new possibilities that don’t necessarily have to associate with finding Mr. Right, but instead on the care, well-being, and fulfillment of oneself. My new self-care routine includes a lot of mediation – Mind-Body and Soul. Every day I’m manifesting my intentions and what I want to create in my life. When it comes to dating I recently decided to trash my checklist and to just keep my heart and mind open. By doing this within just one month my ideal type of guy completely changed Looks – personality – qualities. I’m truly loving the woman I’m becoming.
Rule #5 Live Your Best Life
Girl, you’re single – live it, breathe it and enjoy it. No one can make you happy but you. Being single, being on your own, is the perfect opportunity for you to live your best life. Own it and stop worrying so much about finding your other half they will pop up when the time is right. Simply do what feels good and right to you for you.
Being single is a level of freedom that you don’t have when you’re in a relationship. If this is your single season this is the perfect time to find and learn yourself. Take this time to treat yourself how you want to be treated- please yourself – enjoy yourself and catch vibe here and there!
With work picking up these past two months it seems like it’s been forever since mini-me and I had some real just fun mother-daughter time. So when I received this fabulous opportunity to stay at one of Universals newest resorts I just couldn’t pass it up and I brought mini-me along for some fun. I’m pretty sure by now that you guys caught a peek (from my Instagram) of what all we got into during our stay. I’m no stranger when it comes to Universal Orlando. Universal has always been a favorite of mine since grade school, my family and I spent many summers running to rides throughout the parks. I love my stay at Universal’s Aventura Hotel at the Universal Orlando Resort now check out what all we got into.
About The Hotel
Universal’s Aventura Hotel recently opened, just in August 2018 with over 500+ rooms and let’s not forget about the great amenities which include: Self-parking garage- Universal Studios Store -Pool -Game room -Fitness Center -On-site car rental service -Shuttle Service
The rooms were super clean and very modern. I forgot to take a picture of the room iPad which controlled the room temperature, lights and it has access to connect your Netflix or Hulu. Depending on where your room is located you just might get a beautiful view of most of the theme parks. If you’re traveling with kids this hotels safety shouldn’t be a concern even at the pool where there are plenty of lifeguards.

As For Food
Let’s just say there are many food and drink options around the hotel. For all the coffee lovers (not me ) there’s a Starbucks in the lobby (go ahead a do your happy dance). There’s also an Urban Pantry which is basically a food hall that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner options. You can also head to the top floor and enjoy food and drinks at the rooftop bar & grill called Bar 17 Bistro.
Great food at Bar 17 Bistro!
This Hotel happens to be right in the middle of all the Universal theme parks which is very convenient and within walking distance of Vocalno bay. There’s a 5min shuttle ride to Universals City Walk where’s there’s even more restaurants and both theme parks.
Over the past year, I ’ve been hearing so much buzz about Stitch Fix especially within the plus size community so I decided to finally get my fix plus a little extra. Within the past month and a half, I’ve been playing around in the clothes from my Stitch Fix boxes and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with the styles and brands that my stylist introduced to me. Just recently I took a trip to there Stitch Fix Headquarters and boy did I learn so much about the brand. Today on the blog I’m going share a couple reasons why you need to check out Stitch Fix.
Stitch Fix CEO Katrina Lake Explains All
Stitch Fix Is Not Just a Plus Size Thing- One of the man reasons you just might want to check out Stitch Fix cater to just about everything. Stitch Fix has options for (ARE YOU READY) Men-Women-Children – Plus Size Women- Big and Tall. Now that was pretty shocking to see and hear, how many clothing services do you see actually cater to your whole family. Stitch Fix is like a one-stop spot, especially when you’re looking for clothing option for your entire family. During my visit at the Stitch Fix headquarters CEO Katrina Lake really gave us the tea behind the brand and how it continues to grow. Let’s just say I’m hoping for a mommy and me (mother-daughter) styling box in the near future.
Chatting with one of Stitch Fix stylist
Personal Stylist- Are you in need of a personal stylist? If you answer is yes Stitch Fix can get you together. There’s a $20 Styling Fee for each fix in which you start off by filling out your user-friendly style profile. “With this fee comes a personal stylist who learns what you like from your Style Profile, feedback from your Fixes and your request where you can express your concerns and needs.” “From there, your stylist will send you up to 5 items each month if you want or whenever’s right for you, and you pay for what you keep plus the $20 gets credited towards your purchase” And if you keep all 5 items you get an extra 25% off. Also, note that you can get your fIx – personal styling service whenever you want – on a regular cadence or on demand. So that means you don’t have to opt-in every month you can use this service whenever you want without being charged a monthly fee.
Variety- I I just love the variety of styles Stitch Fix offers. I may be a fashion blogger but trust me I’m not up on every new brand or the latest launch from XYZ. In just over a month Stitch Fix introduced me To a number of brands who I would pass over because I was either too scared to try or wasn’t sure if they sold my size. I’ll also like to add that Stitch Fix doesn’t just focus on clothing, they also have a variety of bags, jewelry, and shoes for you to also try out. Stitch Fix also produces their own brand plus have fit experts to make sure that fit/sizing is amazing. They also partner with designers/brands to offer exclusive items only available at Stitch Fix.
Chatting With Warp + Weft CEO (exclusive pants brand offered at Stitch Fix)
All in all, Stitch fix is tailored to your needs and requests. Even if you decide to keep only one item, that’s one item that you love. One thing I want you to note: be sure to keep your stylist updated on what you may be looking for (Date night looks- boss looks- EVERYTHING). As an entrepreneur, one of my goals for 2018 was having a steady income and I have to say 2018 “financially” has been pretty amazing for me. But you know, as they say, more money more problems, let’s just say adulting hit me pretty hard this year. I plan on ending this 4th quarter with a bang here’s how I’m walking into 2019 making money moves.
First, you definitely need to look fly walking into 2019 and nothing looks more official than a power suit that will have you looking all boss like. As soon as I saw this tailored suit at Lane Bryant the first thought that came to mind was ” I Make Money Moves” ( thanks Cardi B this has been my motto all year long). This suit couldn’t be more me and it’s super comfy. Right Now LB has a large variety of tailored suits in a number of colors and I saw a couple of prints. When it comes to fit I give them to thumbs up because most of the bottoms are offered in tall and short plus they have stretch (if it doesn’t have stretch I’m not wearing it) plus I’m loving the added details -faux leather trim on the these pants is super chic. I’m definitely feeling LB’s fall selects and will add more items to my closet to making sure I’m looking chic while making money moves.
Now let’s dive into other ways I’m making money moves walking into 2019
Creating A Financial Budget That Supports My Goals
Right now it’s very important for me to create a budget that supports my goals. I’m getting older and it’s time to figure out what I really want out of life. I’ve always had a vision/dream of the kind of life that I would like to live but is it realistic- financially? Now more than ever it’s time for me to start making some serious financial goals by prioritizing my goals and savings. Pretty soon I’ll be buying a home or a car and I don’t want to question if I can afford it or not.
Double Checking My Emergency Fund
Let’s keep it real the average American household has less than a month’s worth of income in liquid savings, An emergency fund is an essential part of everyone’s financial plan especially me as an entrepreneur. This is the money you should have earmarked for unexpected events, such as a medical bill, emergency room visit or unexpected hospitalization. This past summer was truly ruff for me and I realized during the struggle that I didn’t have enough money in my emergency fund. But hey at least I had one. At the end of this 4th quarter, I plan to have a solid emergency fund at least 4-6 months ahead.
Paying Attention to My Credit Score
I soooooo wish I would have listened to my parents when they drilled me about credit or maybe even had a high school course on budgeting and credit. Let’s just say I wish my credit was better but I’m using the rest of 2018 to create a game plan on how I’m going pay off debt and get my credit score up.
In all, I plan on stepping into 2019 making smart money moves and of course looking fly while doing so. I’m currently finishing up my financial planning and savings for 2019, it’s going to a great year. Here’s to making money moves in 2019!!!!
As soon as Labor Day passes, fall style is in full effect. You guys already know Fall in Florida is pretty much non-existent but I do enjoy being able to play around in a couple of my classic fall wardrobe staples. This month is the time to acquire the classic fall items that get me through the light Florida chill. I’m all about classic wardrobe staples for fall and today on the blog I’m sharing a few current favorites in partnership with LOFT .
One thing I can’t live without during fall is a comfy blazer. It’s defiantly not chilly enough to rock full on coats just yet but I do enjoy being able to layer under a chic blazer. A sharp blazer is a classic and the best investment your wardrobe could ask for even if you don't work in a proper office, every woman should have at least one blazer. Blazers are just another way to jazz up almost any outfit. I’m currently obsessed with this blazer I purchased from LOFT it’s modern and chic. Definitely a Classic staple to keep in your closet. It's so versatile – wear as a suit, wear with jeans and a white t-shirt, on your shoulders on top of your evening dress…
Nothing says boss in the like a perfectly fitted pant or maybe I just feel like a total boss when I’m rocking an amazing pair of pants. Let’s just say, you haven’t lived your best life if you haven’t found the perfect ankle pant. Ankle-length pants are a new must-have for me especially during fall in Florida- such a classic staple. They’re so versatile and stylish, they can go from desk to drinks with ease. I found these comfy ankle pants over at LOFT and I have to be honest the higher waistband is what sold me and it smoothed everything out. Ankle pants are a great way to breathe new life into your work basics and make your favorite Monday-to-Friday outfits feel
fresh. They’re the perfect alternative to a pair of classic trousers, plus their sleek proportion (think slim and slightly cropped) is surprisingly easy to wear.
In all, your Fall wardrobe is what you make of it. My fall wardrobe is full of classic wardrobe staples which include chic blazers and comfy pants. Be sure to check out LOFT for all of your wardrobe needs, they have a nice plus size selection filled with Fall staples.

This post is sponsored by DOVE. All opinions are my own
A couple of years an ago at Curvy`Con, I was quoted for saying “I Love My Arms.” Quickly after that, many women, not only plus size, reached out to me sharing that they disliked showing their arms, and asked how I became so confident with wearing outfits that showed them off. Some of them shared concerns and fears were all very valid issues that we’ve all dealt with. Many women had difficulties with excessive perspiration, odors, and stains. Others had an issue with carrying some of their weight in their arms. Listen, Ladies, If it’s any of the above I’m here to show how to be fearless while showing off your arms.
Being that I often get sweaty underarms, protection is the most important factor for me when choosing an antiperspirant. So, it’s a must I use something that can protect me from both odor and wetness. DOVE is one brand that has been a staple for me and this has been since grade school. I’ve been a DOVE girl for over 10 Years and they have yet to steer me wrong. My current favorite deodorant is DOVE Dry Spray Antiperspirant. As soon as I spray it on, it dries instantly and keeps me fresh all day. An added bonus is that it keeps my underarms feeling super smooth.
Now it’s time to OWN IT. When I’m running around getting things done I want to feel confident – with DOVE Dry Spray Antiperspirant, I’m guaranteed no pit stains and smelling fresh. When it comes to having insecurities with weight I always think If I can’t change something within the next 7 days, I can’t worry about it – Don’t worry about your flaws because no one else is, and if they are they are a hater. PERIOD.
Summer has come to an end for most of the US states, but us Florida girls know that we will have this summer and heat for a few more weeks/months. Even though I’m ready to get into these fall fashions, I’m not going to complain too much because I actually like having the option of not covering my arm (wearing sleeves) 80% of the year. And no matter the weather/season I can say thanks to my DOVE Dry Spray Antiperspirant, I’m confident about feeling and smelling fresh every day.
Here’s to being fearless while showing off your arms.
Who remembers motivation Monday ? I know It’s been forever since I’ve posted a motivational piece but I’m backkkkk! Today’s post is dedicated to all my girls seeking validation /support from others. So what triggered this post you ask – it all started from a few random FB post in which I noticed everyone complaining about the lack of support from others. Well I’m here to tell you girl -look in the mirror your validation & support is right there.
So we’ve all been guilty time and again of seeking approval and validation from other people. In fact, a huge part of our adolescent and young adult years centers around not only trying to form an identity of who we are and what we stand for, but also determining if our sense of self is accepted by the people in our lives
You’ll never meet their expectations, and that’s ok. Sometimes you will be the most amazing friend, parent, spouse, employee, and sometimes you won’t. Sometimes people won’t like, comment, or share. There are always going to be instances in life where your idea of what is “right” or your visions will not match up with someone else’s idea and that is not only ok, but a perfect opportunity to grow.
To constantly be worried about what other people think about us and about living up to other people’s standards is to live in constant fear of, “Am I good enough?” However, when we start to realize that people don’t see us how we are but rather see us how they are, we stop the exhausting effort of trying to get other people to see us in a certain way. And this leads to a freedom that is priceless. True power lies in the hands of the person who only seek to be their most authentic self regardless of what other people think.
People will respect someone who is confident in their own truth, even if they don’t necessarily agree with it.
You can only be a first rate version of you
Every one of us is completely unique and there is a reason for our existence. When we abandon our true selves to meet other people’s expectations we deny the world something very special…us.
So much time has been wasted trying to be like others only to realize that no one of us was put here to be exactly like what other people or society say we “should” be. By only looking for our own acceptance we become the best us that we can possibly be, and that’s all anyone could really ask of us.
The less we require other people’s acceptance of us, the more we will find ourselves around people who give it to us naturally. As our own acceptance of ourselves rises, we naturally move towards relationships where we are treated as good if not better than we treat our own selves. And this helps us to form lasting and healthy relationships with others, which is truly the mark of a person who is rooted in unconditional love.
Girl you better stop looking for validation/support and live your life!
It’s back to school season and I’m here to have a conversation around period poverty. Nearly 1 in 5 American girls have missed school because they didn’t have access to period protection. It’s so sad to know that so many young girls are forced to miss out on valuable opportunities because they don’t have the proper products or have to resort to using things like toilet paper or clothes, which is extremely uncomfortable. This back-to-school season, Always is on a mission to help close this gap, first off by raising awareness about the lack of access to period products that are affecting millions of girls in the U.S. and then by taking action to help #EndPeriodPoverty. For decades, Always has been empowering millions of girls through puberty and confidence education, providing products to girls in need, and most recently by tackling societal barriers through the Always #LikeAGirl movement. Within this post sponsored by Always, I’m sharing a couple ways you can join forces with Always and help #endperiodpoverty
Period Poverty is real, especially in the school system. Just last year I went to visit an all-girls school within my community and it broke my heart to hear the counselor stress the issue over the need for pads (it’s an all girl school – you would think they should have an overflow). The lack of sanitary products causes girls not only to miss out on all the important classes but also all the opportunities to learn, grow and build confidence at school. And let just be honest it’s embarrassing, especially at a vulnerable time like puberty.
BUT WE can help!
Use social media- Join in with Always on this social call to action, this is a great step to ensure that, together, we can help end period poverty. By raising awareness, you’re helping to make it easier to tackle the problem. Helping raise awareness on how t this is an issue for American school girls and providing ways to directly help.
Buy & Donate
If you’re out at a supermarket or placing your weekly online household shopping orders, why not buy some extra pads and donate. Additionally, every purchase of Always pads from now until September 8th will also trigger a donation of product to girls in need in partnership with Feeding America.
Raise awareness of American girls’ lack of access to period products, and the impact it has on them missing school and their confidence. Share your own thoughts and feelings toward period poverty. Tell your friends all about it and speak with your teenage girls so they can help out a friend in need. Think about your younger self and the struggles you and how you can use your experience to helps others.
To #EndPeriodPoverty Always wants to remove the stigma around the issue and create a conversation that encourages people to better understand the problem, and to support girls who need products this school year. Always goal is to Donate an additional 15 million period products to Feeding America, a long-standing partner, through the organization’s school pantry program, which provides food, toiletries, and personal care products to kids who are most in need. Remember Every purchase of Always pads until September 8 will trigger a donation of product to girls in need.
