Santa Rosa Newborn Session

Last October, my husband and I finally got to meet our new favorite person – Adeline March. After carrying her for 41 weeks and 1 day, I really couldn’t believe she was a) here and b) ours! Having a baby is a funny thing – you know that the end of pregnancy will result in a tiny squishy human you get to love and who will keep you awake at night, but when it actually happens, it’s nothing short of unbelievable. Adeline has added immeasurable joy to our lives, and I’m in awe daily that I get to be her mama.

We took these pictures (many thanks to the magic of a tripod and my patient mother!) in our home when she was 7 days old, and there are no words to describe how much they mean to me. Looking at them now, it’s crazy to me that she was ever this little! She feels so big now! She’ll be 5 months old next week, and I truly can’t believe how fast our first few months with her have flown by. I hadn’t really thought about sharing these, but I got to meet a dear friend’s new baby girl today and I’m prepping to photograph another dear friend’s new baby girl next week, so naturally, I’m feeling crazy sentimental. You are so loved, my little Addy!

Provence Wedding Photographer

Continuing the France adventures today! During our visit to the Provence area, Brendan and I took a day to check something off my bucket list. There are no words for how beautiful this day was – the lavender fields of Valensole are just as magical in person as they look in pictures. Brendan and I spent a morning driving around this region made famous by the beautiful purple blooms that spread for miles every summer. I had always wanted to visit Valensole, so I was so excited when I finally had the chance! We (accidentally) drove off the beaten path for a bit and found ourselves far away from all the tour buses – dream come true! If you ever have the chance to wander around this area, I highly recommend it! We visited the end of June, right at the beginning of lavender season and it was perfect.

After exploring endless fields of these purple beauties, we headed to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, which you can see here! You can see more from our trip to France by visiting my travels archive.

I rarely submit non-wedding related material for publication, but when Belle Lumiere Magazine requested submissions on topics that we as photographers were passionate about, I instantly thought about the numerous times I’ve shot film in art museums. I’m so excited to see images from the Musée d’OrsayMusée de l’Orangerie, Rodin Museum and the National Gallery of Art  featured in their most recent issue! In my article, I share the benefits of shooting in art museums and what I’ve learned over the years from taking pictures in these beautiful places. You can snag a copy of Belle Lumiere Magazine here or get a digital subscription to see the full article and lots of pretty pictures!

Paris Wedding Photographer

The few hours Brendan and I spent at the Rodin Museum in Paris were such a treat. I’d wanted to visit this museum for years and was so excited when I finally got the chance! Housed in his former studio, this place was absolutely stunning. I was a kid in a candy shop as I wandered through taking in marble sculptures, paintings he received from Monet and the simple architectural details.

I’m so excited that these images, along with ones I’ve taken at the Musée d’Orsay, Musée de l’Orangerie and the National Gallery of Art will all be featured in Belle Lumiere’s next issue! I’ll be sharing the benefits of shooting in museums and how I’m inspired by these beautiful places. The magazine will be released on January 15th, so be sure to snag a copy or view the online version!

There’s something really magical about going home for the holidays. Living in California for the past couple years, Brendan and I haven’t been able to make it back east for Christmas since we moved out here! We’ve loved celebrating in our own home and Lake Tahoe the last two years, but are so excited to be Maryland-bound today to spend our girl’s first Christmas with Brendan’s family. There will be lots and lots of baby cuddles, pictures with her cousins, cookies and naps in front of the fire – we’ve been excited about this for months now, and I’m so excited it’s finally here :) I’ll see you guys in 2019! Have a great Christmas and New Year!
