We are 26 year old identical twins originally from Birmingham, England, we now live in Dubai. Traveling is one of our favourite things in life as we can discover fashion trends around the world, as well as eat some amazing new foods and see different cultures. We both have different styles, but we do borrow clothes from each other now and then.
We had such a tasteful lunch on Friday. We visited Moombai & Co to try a bit of Indian food while watching the cricket world cup. The first thing that catches your eyes at Moombai & Co is the interior, you can tell a lot of effort was put in to create such a beautiful restaurant.
The service was great, even though it was quite busy the staff were very attentive.
Here is what we ordered:
- Munna Bhai M.B.B.S
- Bollywood Jhatka (Daquiri)
- PK Hai Kay
- Chip & Chutney Sampler
- Moombai Vada Pau
- Kale & Spinach Pakoda
- Chicken Tikka Makhni
- Lemon Butter Chicken
- Methi Malai Paneer
- Butter & Garlic Naan Bread
Everything we tried was full of flavor and spices it was mind blowing! Our favorites from the list above was the Munna Bhai cocktail, it was a whiskey cocktail and we don't normally drink whiskey but with this cocktail it had cherry and raspberry syrup added to the mixture. We also enjoyed the taste of the PK Hai Kay cocktail and it cam with a mini bottle for you to pour yourself which was a nice touch.
From the starters we really enjoyed all of them specially the kale & spinach pakoda, first time trying this and we honestly fell in love with it.
The mains were just the highlight of our visit and we really liked the lemon butter chicken, the chef's did so well in giving the original butter chicken a bit of a twist. Each dish was full of flavors, so extremely tasty we really do applaud the chef's at Moombai & Co as you can see from the presentation and taste of each dish the effort they go through to create such wonderful dishes.
And the naan bread just gave each dish that extra flavor and it definitely helps you soak up all the curry sauce.
We were so happy with our visit over the weekend, we will be back for sure as we feel it is completely different to other Indian restaurants in Dubai. We are two very happy and full customers.
Perry & Blackwelder's has been in Dubai for a while now and it is one of our favourite place's to go to as it has great food, music and the look and feel of the place, it is a country western restaurant and they are known for their delicious dishes like briskets, wings and their large sized hot dogs and burgers.
We are always interested in trying new dishes from their menu and this time around we tried out their some of their new pork options. From the pork options we had the popcorn pork, the pulled pork sandwich which was huge and the crispy Cajun pork belly which was exploding with sweet flavours. Other than these yummy pork options for starters we had the chicken poppers and we always order these when we go they are just to die for and we also ordered the potato skins.
For mains we always go for the chicken wings with their famous buffalo franks sauce, they are definitely our favourite wings in Dubai. Then we ordered the brisket which is another popular choice from customers and along with the mains we got quite a few sides and by the way you must try at least two of their sides they are amazing, our go to choice is the mac and cheese and onion wings.
Now for dessert, we have heard so much about their new milkshakes, and from photos that we've seen of them, they look incredible so we had to give one a try and got an absolutely massive shake and it is easily shared by at least 4 people but wow it was delicious.
Whenever we visit Perry and Blackwelder's the service is always excellent even if we happen to comment on the food or music whatever it may be they always know how to handle the situation.
We highly recommend you try some of their new dishes, you wont be disappointed and also dig in to one of their huge milkshakes.
We tried out a recently new restaurant in Dubai called Mango Tree Thai Bistro at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR). We have heard a lot of good things about this place through social media and a few of our friends have been and took pictures of the awesome interior. So we of course had to try out the food and take some pictures of our own, it is very Instagram friendly. Once we arrived we had a lovely welcome from the staff, the wallpaper and interior caught our eyes straight away. We asked to sit inside as its getting hotter now, but the seating outside looked amazing and had very grungy wallpaper which was interesting, reminded us of Asia and street food canteens sort of thing. Mango Tree in JBR do serve alcohol and mocktails and soft drinks so it is great for anyone as well as family's. Before we talk about what we ordered we would like to mention that Mango Tree do in fact have vegetarian and vegan options on their menu, which is perfect as we know a lot of vegan lovers out there. For starters we ordered the Hot & Sour Chicken Bites and the Duck Breast Red Curry & Pineapple Flatbread, the starter was heavenly from the crispiness of the chicken bites and the spicy & sour sauce marinated on top such a perfect light bite snack. The flatbread had the taste of the red curry and with the duck and cheese it blended the flavors in nicely. We highly recommend these two dishes to start with. For mains it was hard to chose, we got the Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce; Pineapple Fried Rice which had chicken, cashew nuts, raisins, & fresh pineapples inside; then we got the Roasted Beef Short Ribs with some seasoned Potato Wedges on the side. The chicken satay peanut sauce was superb and couldn't stop dipping everything in. And for the dessert we had the extremely popular mango sticky rice, it was fantastic, the mango was nice and soft and together with the sticky rice it was just amazing!
All our meals were fantastic at Mango Tree and the location is perfect as well as their impressive interior. With the beef short ribs they do have a distinctive smell to them which not everyone will enjoy so if you are quite sensitive to smell we recommend you try something else on the lengthy menu, there are loads of options to pick from.
