Having a working knowledge of Universal Laws is essential to energy healers and therapists who guide clients through family-of-origin issues, personal history resolution, and applies even to chakra healing and chakra cord work. This is because the consciousness of both past and present day relationship, held within traumatic or other impactful events, will be governed by Universal Laws, and not by so-called “Natural Law”, our political and social adjudication systems.
As a therapeutic helper for another, Universal Law impacts my clients in their struggles to clear away family history not of their making. And, since you and I cannot physically represent the client in the court of Universal Law, how can we help them bring closure to family karma, or to their own past karmic debt?
In this 90-minute class we will cover the impact of the Universal Law on Hereditary Karma. Hereditary Karma is the energetic consciousness of your family heritage. It is the patterns and unresolved conflicts of our family’s past. Our physical DNA acts as the access point for the energetic consciousness in our ancestors as well as our current living family. Hereditary Karmic patterns can stretch back in time up to seven generations, although major karmic energies will be diluted with the inevitable addition of brand new DNA flowing into the family line.
This online class will be taught at 5 PM Pacific US Time / 8 PM Eastern US Time, on Sunday August 18, 2019. Cost is 63 USD (without mp3 recording) or 78 USD (includes mp3 recording for later study). This is a summer promotional rate, a 50% discount on my usual single class fees.
Students who cannot attend the class in person can order the option that includes the recording, and the mp3 will then be sent to them two hours after the class ends.
If enough students request it I will also offer an additional Livestream Class at 5 PM Pacific US Time on Sunday August 25, 2019, where I will take student questions and offer live feedback on your professional and personal issues.
To apply, please email Dean directly through this website, or on Facebook messaging. The class will be taught on Zoom, and you will be sent an access link to the class after your tuition has been paid, as well as be placed on the Family Karma class newsletter.
Western psychology has greatly benefited our health and wellbeing, focusing as it does on suppressed or repressed emotions, and distorted belief patterns that keep us from repeating toxic or challenging relationships or situations in our lives. “Talk” therapy, along with its Reichian step-sister Body Centered Psychotherapy – which takes the same approach as speaking to our issues but with the inclusion of the body – both use a similar approach to the healing process, striving to reveal what is hidden or distorted, in the client’s consciousness, and then to offer alternate solutions leading to more productive and inclusive actions.
Modern Shamanism, on the other hand, looks towards a different set of hidden factors in our lives, and affecting our relationships, and our life challenges. With the experience and knowledge of the Astral world, and the ability to relate with spirits and natural elements existing on the planet, with access to ritual technology and ancient wisdom, the Shaman of old would strive to return the person to balance. This would be done by either clearing negative or evil forces afflicting them, or would direct the person towards making prayers, entreating the spirit world, or offering some sacrifice that would help them overcome bad luck, or a psychic attack. In this definition, a psychic attack is anything outside of us that either wishes us harm, or wants revenge for a perceived or actual insult, or simply wants to exploit and victimize a person.
The modern shaman, schooled in Western Psychology, can now pull from both these approaches: the psychotherapy of revealing what is hidden, and exploring healthier options, and accessing the support of the astral world, the natural forces, which will need to be brought into balance. To balance, we will need to banish anything from our lives that is in the way of our happiness and future growth, and we will need to evoke or create those elements that provide us with the resources to go beyond what we know, and evolve our consciousness.
To explore these subjects that support our healing and personal growth I have created two online classes, so we can together explore the potential of Western Shamanic knowledge, while at the same time integrating the modern-day psychological resources, such as those of developmental psychological research. Together, they provide a rich and meaningful mix of healing skills that can benefit the modern person, either at the personal level, or as a healer or psychotherapist in private practice.
In my June 2019 Online Class, titled “Psychic Attack: Strategies and Defenses”, we explored the important resources of Western shamanism, better known as the Esoteric Magical Tradition. In four one-hour classes, and an optional Professional Applications Livestream class, we looked at practical and time-honored ways that clean, clear, and banish toxic attacks upon our body, our emotions, and our personal free will.
In the upcoming October 2019 Online class, “The Creation and Use of the Magical Mind: evoking and creating” we move into the material that balances any act of banishing, the evoking and creation of something new in our lives, something far more conducive to our personal and spiritual evolution than the imprint left on us by trauma, poor parenting, or shocking events in our lives that disconnect us from our personal meaning, from the connection to our soul’s wisdom.
We can integrate both approaches, both Banishing and Evoking, into our personal and spiritual quest for healing and evolution. It is not enough to banish: we must replace that cleared space in our energy body, with fresh, vital energy and options. It is not enough to only pray and evoke what we want: there is no space in our lives for the new if that space is occupied by the toxic, by a lack of development in our personal will, if we do not know our own power. Together, these two classes energize the wings of our desire for something more, the yearning to transcend our limited history, and soar into new terrritories.
I feel that these two classes can be taken in any order, and that the material will find each person who attends at the right time for them. Don’t feel restricted by having not been a part of the 2019 Psychic Attack class, as it will be taught again in 2020. You are invited to see the upcoming Evoking and Creating online class as an important place of entry – or a deepening – into the use of the Magical Mind.
For more information about the Online Classes go here, or email Dean Ramsden directly through this website. If you want to join us in October, express your interest and get onto the Newsletter devoted to that class. Each online class is limited in numbers, so apply so you can grab your place once you know you

For both self-healing and for personal transformation, nothing delivers better results than a breath practice, one that combines ageless knowledge with modern day scientific validation. What is commonly known as “meditation” is any practice that slows down our habitual daily breathing patterns to one that emphasizes a long inhale, pushing the belly out and down.
The exhale also breaks free of habit by striving to release the chest slightly, striving for a more complete release from the lungs. When done in a consistant way, conscious breathing both energizes the entire body with additional oxygen supplies, but most importantly it stimulates the limbic part of the human brain.
The limbic network of the brain – amygdala, hippocampus, hypothalamus – provide the structures for the feeling and expression of emotion. Memories and feelings then make their way into the basal ganglia, and then to the cerebral cortex. There is also another pathway forward, into the prefrontal cortex. In other words, the limbic network is a “brain beneath the brain”, feeding emotions, drives, and memories into the conscious part of our mind.
When we meditate (slowed, conscious breathing, without any outer distraction or activity), we also generate theta brain waves, which activate deeper parts of the subconscious mind to move closer to the conscious experience.
In addition to being a good daily practice, conscious breathing (meditation) helps release stress from the past, as the breathing practice increases stimulation in the neurons of the olfactory, cortex, amygdala, and hippocampus. In effect, it acts as an “emotional autophagy”: clearing out held emotions from the past, and preparing the mind for fresh, new experiences.
In Asia, we also find that the addition of incense, commonly found in temple settings, further stimulates theta brain wave production as it awakens the olfactory mechanism, kicking our limbic system activation up several notches. For those sensitive to incense, essential oils such as Lavender, Sage, or Cedar are good substitutes.
In my upcoming online class The Psychic Attack: Strategies and Defenses, I will be encouraging students to take up a daily fifteen minute conscious breathing practice, as a support for the release of fear and stress caused by many forms of psychic attack: energy body reactions to the hostile or exploitative projections of others towards them. By having some basic conscious breathing practice in place, whenever fear or anxiety from any psychic source impacts us, we can choose to support and energize our limbic system network, as a precursor to engaging the challenges we face.
If we are unable to calm and center ourselves while impacted by the psycho-energetic projections of the other, we will naturally default into a defensive, or a reactive, posture. As we will see in the Psychic Attack online class, fighting back against most forms of astral invasion deepens the problem, rather than leading towards a solution. Centering within yourself, using your conscious breathing, allows you to respond powerfully and effectively to the aggression or malignant energies heading towards you.
Spiritual Healing, and various forms of Shamanism, are the earliest form of personal transformation and healing methods known to humanity. They pre-date traditional religions, including the modern forms of psycho-emotional healing as developed in the twentieth century by Freud, Jung, and many others. What is the goal of spiritual healing, and how is it said to work?
The two major themes within Spiritual Healing and Shamanism are:
Your egoic sense of self, the person you think you are, is a false center of your authentic self. Spiritual healing aims to first encourage contact with your authentic self, and then become comfortable with both these two identities: your conscious ego self identity, with a history and a personality in this life, and the other as your authentic identity one that stretches out in time and space, and able to interact with a multi-dimensional reality.
There are various forms of other selves that you share the universe with, and who interact with you in either a conscious or a non-conscious way. This includes lost or undeveloped aspects of yourself, forced into hiding because of the false perception of self (this is the Jungian shadow, or the Freudian Id), and , just as important, the influence and contact with other sentient beings in the multi-dimensional universe in which we all live.
A big challenge to spiritual healing and shamanism in the Western world is that it was banished to an underground spiritual system by the domination of organized religion, as well as science, which quite rightly viewed it as a competitor to their social and political power. But we can still see the traces of the deeper levels of spiritual healing in the world of the Western forms of Esoteric Magic.
This is not the stage magic for entertainment, but rather the mystical and magical tradition that understands the way the universe works, that has developed ways of spirit communication so as to gain greater understanding of the multi-leveled universe, and which prizes the marriage between the egoic sense of self and the more nuanced and hidden authentic self, as humanity’s spiritual goal.
The spiritual healer, and the culture-centric shaman, utilize rituals, knowledge of how the universe works, and the gaining of access to the astral world, as amongst the tools needed for spiritual advancement, as well as to help others with their health psycho-emotional wellbeing, and life goals. Conversely, organized religions (and smaller variants of the organized religious model known as cults) tend to tightly control the access of the individual to their own reality, and to their unique specialness.
Organized religions give you an ideal model of who you should be, and demand that you emulate that model. However, for the spiritual healer, our final goal is to be free from the control of the other, and to gain the spiritual marriage of the egoic sense of self with the authentic self, all in alignment with Universal wisdom and flow states. It is the development and activation of personal choice, and the freedom to follow our own unique path through the world, which is the goal of Western Traditional Magic.
In the past hundred years we have seen many of the known aspects of spiritual healing and shamanic techniques and knowledge appear into our societies. This important knowledge cannot ever be fully banished, but in order to sneak past the guardians of the gate of social and political control, it tends to adapt itself to modern sensibilities, and to update the language. Even so, they are all aspects or variations on Esoteric Magic, and shamanism, going back thousands of years.
One example is the development of “New Thought”, originating in the United States in the Nineteenth Century. New Thought teachings strip away the trappings of organized religion and centers on the mind as being that which we use to cure, and to influence, our lives. New Thought focuses on how beliefs impact our health and well being, and it is by changing our thoughts and beliefs that we create health in our lives. This conceptual model has new offshoots in the late Twentieth Century, emerging out of New Age movements, an example of which is Ester and Jerry Hicks and their work on “The Law of Attraction”, later popularized in the film “The Secret” (2006).
Another example of spiritual healing and shamanism entering the popular mind is the concept of channeling, a modern term for mediumship and the consultation with spirit beings, and formerly a part of Spiritualism. Spiritualism assumes the spirit world is always looking to communicate with the world of the living, and that what they have to say is important at the individual level. The more family-friendly term “Channel” is the modern spiritualist, and draws from this older heritage, but perhaps minus all the ectoplasm and table tapping of your late Nineteenth Century seance.
In the early to mid-twentieth Century the Theosophy movement, which sprang out of the work of H.P. Blavatsky, and later Charles Leadbeater and social activist Annie Besant, paved the way for a spiritual framework of healing and development that included all the religions, and yet drew heavily on the influence of hidden spiritual teachers. Hindu and Buddhist concepts became integrated into a far-reaching cosmology for students of spiritual development to explore.
Finally, there is a case to be made that both Freud and Jung tapped into the interplay between the egoic sense of self and the authentic self, a key component of spiritual healing and shamanism. By stripping away all the ritual magic and incantations, and leaving only the psycho-emotional revelation of the personal interplay of forces within us all, they formed what is now the influencial forces of psychology. Psychology and psychotherapy express one aspect of the shaman: ways of revealing the hidden apects in our lives, and then integrating those forces into a happier and more productive life.
My own form of spiritual and energetic healing is firmly rooted in the goals of Western Magic, although it avoids the ritual trappings of Magic, and the lure of spiritualism, where clients talk directly to spirit beings. My own professional healing work strives to activate the transformational work needed to bridge the egoic self identity with the authentic self of my client, while also drawing on both my own energy system resources, and that of those spirit beings that work with me, to maximize positive change and to balance health in my clients. As with every spiritual healer and shaman, I draw heavily on the past foundational knowledge of Esoteric Magic, with the goal of integrating it with modern-day realities.
Probably the biggest challenge for us all is that the Western Esoteric Magical system has been misrepresented so poorly in our modern world, equating Magical systems with witchcraft and black magic. But the adult mind has to also factor in these options, taken by some, where people will subvert a higher teaching for application towards something more lower and perhaps with a sinister agenda.
This material – the territory of the curse, of the focused bad intent of another and its impact on us, even at a great distance – is the subject of my June 2019 online class “Psychic Attack: strategies and defenses”. In this class, as well as future content on my website and in online classes, we will open up to the healthy and spiritually-elevating use of both spiritual healing and shamanism, by drawing on the resources of Western Esoteric Magic.
Western Esoteric Magic is a system of how we can effect change in the world around us, gain access to universal resources, as well as how to navigate the differing agendas and selfish manipulations of others. Unless you know how it all works, how the curse works, how the universal energies function, you will tend to live a reactive life, bouncing from one external event to another.
But, metaphorically, if you come to know how the river works, how the boat of your personal self operates, you can steer around the rocks in your life, those that hinder or even attack you, obstructing where you want to go. With Spiritual Healing and shamanism you will be empowered, you will tend to choose your personal freedom and let go of the control others exert on you, and you will transform past the restrictions of your self-limiting egoic self identity. You will flower into your true self, and leave the restrictions of past history behind you.
With its many gradations, we are psychically attacked by someone when their focused anger or desire to exploit us is thwarted or remains unquenched, resulting in the other generating bad luck in our direction. A long-term, targeted psychic attack is often labeled a “curse”. The practical implication of these attacks are that they will tend to deplete our own emotional energy body of resources, leaving us depressed, sometimes paranoid at a string of bad luck that follows us, and will often leave us physically exhausted.

On March 15, 2019, in their second interview, Dean Ramsden interviews Rev Rosalyn L. Bruyere on the importance of classic writers of spirituality and healing, and the books that Rosalyn recommends to her healing students.
In intermediate-level chakra cord work we can distinguish three important cord relational connection and dynamics, each having notable structure and functions:
1. Full mutual relationship : give and take, respectful and caring, a relationship that grows over time
2. An association: rather than intertwining around each other, an association is two chakra cords meeting only at a certain point, intersecting but not intertwining. These are relationships where there are shared goals, or shared functions, but no deeper and supportive relationship. Once the goal or function of the relationship is completed, the association cord usually retreats, or dissolves. On occasion, it can evolve into a full mutual relationship as it can provide the basis of trust and compatibility needed for any mutual connection between people.
3. An exploitative relationship: one fueled by one (or both) parties seeking to gain an advantage from the other with minimal investing of relationship by the exploiter. This cord connection is far less direct than the other two cord dynamics, as it often seeks to emulate the first two (subterfuge) or manipulate to gain by exploiting relational or social rules of engagement. In other words, it is psychopathic or sociopathic in nature.
These three cord connections also have important variations as they grow or evolve over time. For instance:
The Full mutual relationship deepens safety and humor over time, and fosters creative energies to flow, or to flower.
The association cord connection meets and then drops contact, sometimes re-appearing when a new situation that calls upon the association to function once again, arrives. In other words, the signal drops, and then picks up, through the symbolic astral “internet”. It also has capacity to shift from activated association (functional) to NPC status (Non Playable Character). The NPC is a computer gaming term meaning a character who is present but not relatable.
Exploitative relationships require deep study, as they emulate all other cord relational dynamics but are constantly seeking for the maximum benefit from a minimal investment in relational energy. Not only do they copy a healthier cording style but they seek an “exploit”: a weakness in the other person’s relational structure, that drains the other of a resource, and shields the exploiter from discovery. We find this tactic commonly in nature, as one species exploits the nature of another species in order to survive or to feed.
Intermediate to advanced chakra cord healing first looks to sort through the cord connections, and assign realistic roles to the client’s relationships: full mutual, associations, NPC status, overt exploitative, and hidden exploitative. Once that is done astral clearing techniques can be applied to clarify what the client wishes to gain (or avoid losing!) in any relationship that they are dealing with.
When we add the perspective of heritage energies, or family karmic patterns, into chakra cord work, we may find these three distinctions playing out in our families, or in our own lives, confusing us as to which they are, and often confounding us in which healthy options we should choose.
Finally, the impact of the Asral world, the hidden substrate of emotional and mental energies from non-human sources, must be included in more advanced forms of cord work. In the full mutual relationship we are often dealing with middle to higher astral aspects that are looking to be manifest in the material world, to be given physical form. In the association relationships there are discrete astral forces organized around function, for instance, effective business relationships, or therapist-client relationships. And in exploitative relationships we find the lower astral peeking “his” or “her” head up, looking for a free meal, or at least to be energized in some way, through the client’s life force (see Invasive cords).
Going by many different names, a psychic attack can be either a direct or indirect assault on your auric energy system, resulting in decreased health or chronic illness, unexplained fatigue, excessive bad luck, anxiety and paranoia, or disturbed sleep. Difficult to pin down in everyday terms, as these symptoms could be the side effect from various causes, the psychic attack is a very real issue that energy healers are asked to support their clients in overcoming.
This mini-series of four one-hour online classes explores the territory of the psychic attack, or curse, from a practical and therapeutic perspective. We will look at everyday situations that expose us to the negative or manipulative focus of others, at family heritage energies passed down from near or distance ancestors, and invite class participants to share their own experiences with emotional or mental challenges when they are opposed by the selfish will of another.
We will also look at strategies and defenses against the non-conscious cursing of us by others, as well as gain more insight into how we can recover from attacks made upon the integrity of our energy consciousness system.
The Psychic Attack Online Class: time and dates:
Sundays at 8 pm Eastern US / 5 pm Pacific US
May 2019: 5, 12, 19, 26
Registration opens February 5, 2019. Please email Dean, through the email links on this website, to apply for the class.
Dean Ramsden is pleased to announce a series of online classes that focus on personal healing and the spiritual development of the Astral Body.
The Astral Body combines our emotional and cognitive identity, and connects across our past lives, as well as being influenced by direct ancestors, and by lower, middle, and high-level spirit beings. Essential to this work is astral chakra functioning, and relational cord clearing work. Participants in these classes will apply the material to their own lives, and clear or evolve their Astral Body: to enhance themselves, as well as positively influence any work they do in service of others. Go to this article to read more.
Each online class series will run for eight hourly classes, and will combine pre-recorded and live lecture material from Dean, along with 2-3 questions from students that clarify the practical application of the material. We will use Zoom, the teleconferencing service, with audio only. This ensures better internet reception than including a live video presentation.
There will be two classes a week, one based on US Pacific Time, and the second on Central European Time. There will also be an option to get the recording of each class should you be unable to attend, but the live class is recommended so you can be energetically involved in the class material. Go here to view a detailed outline of Class 1.
Each weekly class will cover the same topic but due to the broad sweep of material the classes will not be wholy identical. Classes are, of course, impacted by the consciousness of the students who attend. Because of that Dean recommends you choose the live class schedule most convenient to you, and only request the class recording if you cannot attend for any reason.
Central European Time: 10 AM on Saturdays
Euro Series 1: Jan 26 2019, Feb 2 2019, Feb 9 2019, Feb 16 2019, Feb 23 2019, Mar 2 2019, Mar 9 2019, Mar 16 2019.
USA: 7 PM Pacific Time on Mondays
Americas Series 1: Jan 28 2019, Feb 4 2019, Feb 11 2019, Feb 18 2019, Feb 25 2019, Mar 4 2019, Mar 11 2019, Mar 18 2019.
To support the class topics there will be some reading links included with each class, to help expand on the presented material.
Students are encouraged to keep a private journal of their class experiences, as well as create some time for themselves, each week, to practice the astral body material and to invite a change into their consciousness energy system.
At the end of each class series students can submit their experiences to Dean, via email, and get written feedback about their personal journey over the last eight weeks. For students wishing more personal feedback, Dean will be available for a Tutorial Session, charged at his usual rates, either during the class series, or at the end of a series. This way, each student can tailor their engagement of the class material to their personal needs, responsive to their own inner timing.
Cost: 270 USD for 8 one-hour classes
To apply: email Dean and include two recent photographs (one headshot, one full body) as well as a short summary of your interest or goals in astral energy body healing and chakra cord work.
Chakra cord energy healing skills are a powerful way to support a client’s physical, emotional, and mental health, either when used as a stand-alone skill (as in Relational Energy Therapy) or if added to an existing healer’s skill set as an adjunctive tool. Chakra cord healing addresses both healthy connections with self and with others, as well as helping to clear relationships of old emotional or belief system patterns transmitted from one person to another.
A common application of chakra cord healing work is with negative or damaging emotional energies taken in from our family of origin: either a current generation father or mother, or going back two or three generations where an ancestor left a powerful imprint in the family, and which may still be affecting those who are alive.
The shamanic or Astral healing perspective is that a family has been cursed, and the bad luck, or bad health, that repeats in the family can be tracked back in time to an ancestor. It is the repeating of the bad luck, or the chronic nature of ill-health, that often indicates negative emotional energies are influencing or damaging the client, despite all their personal efforts to break free, and heal themselves.
How to heal a family curse, or generational imprint, with a client
This particular application of chakra cord healing work requires firstly the ability to perform a standard cord clearing, followed by self-cord supportive work. After this is in place, the energy healer runs a second astral clearing frequency, and sends it deep within the mother or father cord (depending on the source of the curse) and back in time to the originator of the curse.
Once the healer has both frequencies in place – the client’s healthy chakra cord functioning, and the astral connection to the ancestor who originated the curse – a disconnection is put in place, effectively a variation of cutting a cord, but done with fluid emotional energies, rather than severing a relational cord.
So why not cut the cord rather than disable its ability to transmit the family curse / unhealed emotional charge to the client? Cords are complex in nature, and have a fourth-dimensional structure. They exist in a realm that contains both structure (etheric) and astral (emotional energies that flow along structures). Cutting a chakra cord is possible, but only by a highly trained and specialized shaman. The disable technique discussed in this article is far easier to do, and has the advantage of “side-stepping” the family karma, rather than ending the family connection.
Results of family curse clearing work
Often, more than one family curse clearing session will need to be performed, in order to cover all the variations in how the curse impacts the client’s life. But once the client receives substantial relief after one or more family curse sessions, they begin to internalize the process for themselves, and take on their own individuation apart from the family patterns, or family karma. They evolve beyond their family patterns.
Also, the disabling of the family curse often leads to unexpected breakthroughs that were not previously possible either in a particular relationship, or a family situation such as a business or inheritance issue. The previous “bad luck” is supplanted with good luck or positive shifts within the client’s situation, or physical health.
As with other Relational Energy Therapy skills, this is best learned in a workshop setting, rather than being taught over internet classes, or even trying to copy the technique from a written description. Anyone wishing to add this healing skill to their toolbox of techniques should first start with basic chakra cord cleaning work, before moving into running two discrete frequencies along a parental cord, with the intention of disconnecting the client from toxic ancestral energies.
